Asian Star Buffet
8524 Alondra Blvd, Paramount, CA 90723, United States
The were watching soft core porn in the family section?OK so here was my experience. I have been here before a couple of times. The food was mediocre at best. But this time it was really bad. A family friend said that they didnt like the food at all and that it was dirty. I said that I had been there before and it was ok. She advised me to go again. So like the big of buffets that I am, I went for a late lunch. We get there and I immediately notice the dirt and dust on the front counter. I also notice the mess left there by the wait staff. Money, checks, receipts, a couple of plates of food, cups, and fortune cookie wrappers. Looks like a couple of teenage boys lived there. The waitress tried to sit my family In middle of the restaurant at a table with 4 chairs. Let me remind you that there are 5 of us. 2 adults and children ranging from 4 months to 4 years. I asked her for a different seat and she gave me a look that could have melted steel. After being seated in a booth, she walked away never to help us again. I had to ask one of the bus boys to get me a refill on my soda. Which brings me to my next problem. The first bus boy was fine. But the second one honestly didnt need to be at work that day. I asked him if there was any teriyaki or eel sauce for the sushi. He looks at me as if to say who does this effing guy think he is, asking me questions. He then rolls his eyes and then makes some @$!# you gesture and says I dont know and storms off. My girlfriend asks me what just happened. I told her I honestly dont know. I thought I asked a decent question, he acted like I asked him his mothers bra size. Whatever, Im hungry. Lets eat. The noodles were soggy on some parts and extremely dry on others. The sushi was ok. They had some dish that had crab in it but it was left there way too long. Tasted kinda funny. So Im eating and I notice that there are tvs on. One TV had the news broadcasting. The other was playing commercials leading up to a movie. I didnt catch what movie it was at first as I was dealing with my oldest, she loves sushi. I looked up to see a small child about the age of mine watching tv. There are a few families there as well. What I saw next was completely unacceptable. The movie was twilight, and it was the one where they had a love making scene and they were breaking the bed, literally. I immediately got up and asked the staff to turn the tv. They said that it was family tv. I informed them that my family does not watch that type of programming in front of small children. Immediately I was disgusted so I picked up my children and left. I didnt know exactly how much the check was going to be so I gave the lady a 20, told her to give the change to my girlfriend and walked out. When my girlfriend got to the van she asked me how much it was. I told her I didnt know but there should have been change. So I go back in and ask about my change. The lady starts to look upset saying that it was my fault because I walked out. At this time there are 4 restaurant staff standing in front of me. I asked her about my change again and this time she went into her pocket and produced my change. Worse place ever I will never return and I will inform my friends to never go there.
WaBa Grill

This is one of my top favorite places to dine for over 10 years. Through the years Ive seen waba grill grow and expand enormously. This location has fast service, hreat customer service and never has shortages. However, this location is really struggling with keeping the the food cutting at a consistent rate. Ive been here about 4 times since they opened last year, at first I thought this would just take some getting used to. But after returning several times, I notice that nothing has changed. The meat, the veggies and the onions are all cut way too big. And this is really putting a damper on quality. I hope that the location will find use in this review and that some changes will be implemented. After all this is a really good place to eat just need minor tweaks to keep up the quality.

Where to start... 4 of us ladies decided to come here to eat late night (because they close at 10:30) we walked in a girlfriend wanted coffee they have a coffee machine so she puts in .25 cents and her coffee was served she bought 2 more both progressively lighter than the other. The last one looked like dirty see through water. The workers laughed when we told them. When we sat down it took us 20 minutes to get a waiter BUT there were 4 people chatting at the register (1 lady and 3 guys) we caught the man cleaning the tables and told him who was supposed to wait on us he said no ones come, its been a long time. We thought the same. So this guy comes takes our drinks. We order and the food comes out i ordered the #20 teriyaki rolls, they were gross, dry and burnt edges i banged some pieces against the plate and it it clinked against the plate. Its about 10:00 and we get the bill, we thought, we just got served what the heck! So he comes back 15 minutes later Were about to close the registers, if you could please make uour payment. He stood there looking at me and my girlfriend for a solid 3 minutes then he walked behing me to look at my other 2 girlfriends to do the same. We felt SO uncomfortable. We still had 15 minutes left, we dont see eachother that often. So we pay out bill and we want to pay 4 ways. They do not accept more than 2 cards per payment. So needless to say this place was not what we had in mind and we will NEVER be coming back to eat here. Well just take our $96 bill elsewhere, thank you very much

Where do I begin?Well, I will start with parking. You can park on the street or pay $8 for valet. I did valet because I didnt feel like searching for parking. It was quick and easy.Walking up to the restaurant I instantly felt like I was in Miami or Vegas. The music was LOUD and there were bottle girls almost naked walking around and a ton of stuff going on. I was overwhelmed. EVERYTHING WAS LOUD and I had no clue what the hostess was even saying. That was really badMy friend and I were sitting inside and I dont think they had air conditioning. The restaurant was cute and hip and I loved the decor. However, It was HOT and the music was loud. So loud I couldnt think straight or converse with my friend. That was pretty bad again, I couldnt even hear the waitress. Im serious it was loud! We asked if we could sit outside and the waitress was nice enough to move us. It was better. Maybe we were sitting under a speaker inside but it was bad. Outside we also had a breeze. The music was still loud as heck, but I could hear my friend a bit more.I tried the Burria Tacos and they were really good. It was my first time having them so I was happy! I think my friend had the Aguachiles and it was delicious and fresh and seasoned well.I ordered 3 Whiskey Smash and they were excellent and strong. I wish I could have ordered it by the bucket lol. So good.My friend had 2 Whiskey smash and one Sangria and she enjoyed them as well. The customer service was okay all around. Our waitress Evelyn was nice and informative. I enjoyed her.I probably wont be back ONLY because the vibe and loud music isnt what I want if Im trying to converse with friends. Again it gave a Miami Beach, beach club, Vegas poolside vibe and I dont think thats my vibe. The food is yummy though so I would order to go!The music was way too loud and this is a club that offers good food. if you dont like clubs, dont come here.

Such a enormous disappointment.I was so excited to try this establishment.Service was dreadful, they staff was overwhelmed and completely out of synch with customers needs. They were overstaffed, yet they all congregating, wandering around aimlessly while customers were being neglected. We had no server for aprox 20 min. Host was overwhelmed as well and didnt have any authority. Finally she asked a waiter to help us and they blatantly refused saying they were too busy. In front of us, making us feel uncomfortable. Finally a server took our order.Food was another disappointment. It was another 30 min wait. Food was plated divinely.Yet was bland. We had aguachiles rojos, spicy but no flavor. We also had a campechana and shrimp cocktail. Both were lovely to look at but again noflavor, kinda a watered down tomato juice with absolutely no lemon, salt, pepper. Just bland. We tried dressing it up by pouring aguachile sauce but was pointless.Coronas were warm and margaritas were 90% ice and no tequila. Ambiance was chaotic. Couple sitting behind us were very intoxicated and belligerent towards server and completely disrespectful to families sitting close by. Server continued to offering and bringing them beer. Finally they left without paying whileOther employees watched and didnt stop them.We had a negative experience and will not be returning. The worst 80 dollars ever spent.
