Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
187 Yorba Linda Blvd, Placentia, CA 92870, United States
Horrible experience, horrible service, horrible staff, horrible customer service. I regret ordering food from this horrible restaurant. I will never ever, ever, ever, ever eat here again. I don't recommend this restaurant at all; Unless you purposely want to have a horrible experience. The following paragraphs meticulously explains my horrible experience. My girlfriend and I rented a hotel room after celebrating my birthday on October 23, 2020. We had an exciting evening with family at a great venue. We traveled over 20 miles to celebrate with my family in the City of Orange. After the birthday celebration we rented a hotel room in the City of Fullerton. The following morning we enjoyed breakfast near the hotel. We then returned to our room for rest from the previous night. Now for the horrible part of my birthday experience. On October 24, 2020 at 4:45 PM; My girlfriend and I ordered food from Pick Up Stix in the City of Placentia. The food would be delivered to our hotel room door. I asked my girlfriend to stay in the room and wait for our order to be delivered. I went to a local store for some items we needed for the evening. When I returned to the hotel room, the food was ready on the table. My girlfriend said in delight, “ honey dinner is served”. I replied “Mmmm I'm starving “. We sat down to eat. I placed a napkin on my girlfriend's lap and sat down. Here's why I had a horrible experience with Pick Up Stix. They failed to include plastic ware and napkins with our order, the food taste the way way wet cat food smells, the food was cold, the rice and chow mein was dry and hard, the shrimp taste expired, the chicken was hard and taste old, the spring rolls were practically empty. This isn't the worst part.I gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. When I called the restaurant for an explanation, they placed me on hold. The employee said she would only place me on hold for a second. 7 minutes later I hung up and called back. Only to be placed on hold again. I was told by an employee that I was on hold waiting to speak with the manager. After calling again, I was told by a different employee, that there was not a manager on shift at that time. The previous employee had lied to me.I finally got a hold of someone. I was told by an employee, who refused to give their name, that their policy specifically required them not to pack forks or napkins. “Incredulous” I replied. “How am I supposed to eat my food”? I asked. “That's not our problem. Use forks and napkins from your house” she replied. “I'm at the hotel you guys delivered the food to. I didn't bring forks and napkins with me” I replied. When I asked the restaurant employee how I was supposed to eat my food with out a fork or spoon or chop Stix. She told me to use my hands.I had to drive, a round trip of 6 miles, to the restaurant that delivered our food to us just to get forks and napkins. Worst experience ever.

Will not be going back. Ordered chicken and beef plate as well as the Salmon bowl. All the rice was crunchy and hard. My chicken had not just one but quite a few hairs in it. When I looked in the kitchen, the cooks were not properly robed for the job. (No hair nets, hats etc.) The beef tastes like they got a bag of beef jerky from Ralphs and warmed it up in their Saba sauce. The Saba sauce is just a VERY salty- sweet syrup. They have Pepsi products here. (I personally dont like Pepsi but its not a 1 star rating thing) The salmon came out and had the texture of chicken. Overcooked and swimming in Waba sauce. All we tasted was salt. Be aware of this establishment. I will not be going back and WOULD NOT recommend to my friends. Hope they can fix their problems sooner than later.
Pho Amie

This place is 10/10, a must try in the Fullerton-Brea area!!May be some of the best pho in Orange County.Atmosphere: this place is very clean, adorable and modern. As other reviewers said, the music is very nice; they play guitar covers of modern pop songs. It is definitely a hole in the wall (the kind where you discover before it becomes famous).Service: Our waiter (Calvin) was very friendly and knew the answers to our questions right away. He even offered recommendations when he saw my partner debating. We decided to share the house pho and special vermicelli and our waiter brought out extra dishes so we could share easier.Food: we ordered 3 dishes (fresh rolls aka pork spring rolls, house pho, and special vermicelli). The fresh rolls were quite tasty, but I would have preferred a bit more vermicelli noodles to balance out the leafy greens. We requested the shrimp be removed from the vermicelli and they adjusted to give us more egg roll and pork. The perfectly crispy egg rolls were super tasty and slightly different from the typical egg roll... they also serve their fish sauce different (its less fishy and more spice/garlicky). The meat was very thin and tinder with a good amount of smoky char. The vermicelli was also perfectly cooked. The pho was the star of the show. The broth was so satisfying. They had just the right amount of saltiness and the meat and noodles were perfectly cooked. We also ordered a Thai tea. It was much bigger than expected. Theirs is on the sweeter side, but not as sweet as many boba places. The sweetness matches very well with the saltiness of the pho.Recently, I took my family here from NorCal. They absolutely loved it and even ordered food for the next day!

Looking for the best cold or hot teas in town? You gotta give this place a shot. They also have some food options for those that are hungry. They have pretty good tasting drinks. I was in the mood for a hot tea because of my throat and it did not disappoint. Seemed that the food was also good.Their pricing was also pretty good. no complaints in that department. The location is great. They have plenty of parking so, shouldnt be a hassle. They also have great seating for people to stay and eat if theyd like. The staff and customer service is really good . No complaints on that either because they all were very nice and polite. I do wish however, that they have another cashier. Due to people loving this place, they can get a pretty long lone. I waited for my drink for about 15-20 minutes so, that is a downfall but at the same time it shows how good they are.Definitely give them a shot and then follow our travel vlogs on insta @thehungrynomadz

At first, I thought this place was only a make your own poke bowl place where they add sauce mixed in with the fish. However, they also had chirashi bowls which had big chunks of sashimi as well. I must say that Im a huge fan of this. At almost the same price as other poke bowl places, I could get a chirashi bowl for almost the same price - with much fresher fish. The fish was pretty buttery and it was great quality. It wasnt fishy smelling and it pretty much melted in your mouth. Delicious. The spicy mayo and yuzu wasabi were also delicious. I loved the mayo on the fish and the yuzu wasabi with my rice. I liked that they gave you options on how to have your sauce. The portion was generous and I was left feeling very full afterwards. I will most definitely come back to visit this place. So delicious!Service was friendly and the place was spotless. So clean. Also, really bright for photos. Yep, I definitely like this place!P A R K I N GBig lot shared with other places so it was easy to find parking.

It was a pleasant surprise. 3 restaurants didnt allow us to make reservations on Mothers day, but we were allowed to make one on this one fourth restaurant. We absolutely loved it. I had reservations because it says pizza restaurant but honestly, the pizzas are made from scratch....you can tell its all made with love. They also have a variety of other dishes besides pizza, and they seem plain, however, their flavor and spin to these dishes are game changers. My party ordered many things to share and taste...what was shocking was that the corndog...a corndog... was just so different and amazing. You would just have to try it to enjoy and know it. I usually take pictures, but I was so hungry. I ate too much. I love that its so close toNewpirt Beach that I can just cross over and enjoy this restaurant. We were all shocked that we found this location because apparently it used to be a store. They only have Valet because its a small parkinglot and its narrow. I loved the whole vibe to the place. The patio area is lengthy, its breezy, shady, and so peaceful. They grow a lot of herbs all along the sides. Im just excited that we found a new spot that we will continue to come. Oh! And on Thursdays they have an open mic/band that comes in. We didnt see the stage because it was closed off. So, we are coming back on a Thursday to check it out. Our waiter was awesome, kind, and handsome. Haha, but not as handsome as my fiance ;)

One of those rare moments when I visit OC. I went to see one of my best friends! I remember this place back when I was in high school. The restaurant is on the smaller side but with the patio included it isnt so small. Something about the decor and the lighting makes the place feel so cozy and warm. (Although it was.....FREEZING yesterday) While me and my friend wait for our friend to end her shift we decided to grab something small to eat so we wouldnt just be...sitting there hahaawe ordered the truffle butter edamame.OH YES. TRUFFLE BUTTER... BUTTER haha It was very savory and you can definitely taste the buttery truffle but ...once you pass the shell and get to the actual beans the taste on the outer cover doesnt get to the beans so youre just left there hanging with no taste but the bland edamame. Yes, of course the edamame itself is very delicious but we ordered the truffle butter ...because we wanted the full blast of truffle butter. We asked for some salt....and did our own little work but the more you eat it you get used to the taste even without the salt/ soy sauce. We then ordered the sashimi platter.. (light snack...haha) They give you a choice of california roll or spicy tuna roll. It comes with tuna, salmon, yellowtail and white fish sashimi with a side of soup or salad. The salad dressing was delicious! The salmon and yellowtail tasted very fresh and buttery. Especially the cut of the yellowtail was more towards the belly part. (which usually has a shimmery white color.) But...the tuna... was okay. I LOVE tuna but their tuna was fine. It wasnt anything to go crazy over but it wasnt bad. For a sushi restaurant in OC this place had many interesting option on their menu. I wish we were there to eat but we wanted to snack on something and go eat together with a friend.Id recommend this place if youre in the area!
Salt & Ash
1390 N Kraemer Blvd, Placentia, CA 92870, United States
My fiancee and I were recommended here from several friends. These friends have similar taste to us so figured it would be a nice new place to try. After coming all the way from South Orange county I couldnt be more disappointed. As soon as we sat down we had to deal with constant complaining of the patrons next to us. No fault of them, this was clearly on the restaurant. Any how Ill leave that story for their review. Our situation: communication and quality. To start my fiancee orders the bone marrow French toast and I get the chilaquilles. After a few minutes waitress comes back and indicates no more bone marrow French toast. As soon as the kitchen is out of and item the manager should make sure all staff know its 86d. Nada. This was the main reason we came, so she could try this.So she then chooses to order the burrata plate. 10-15 minute wait for the buratta. Which yes, it was busy and normally I dont care about 15 or so minute wait. However it was going on another 10 minutes and me asking before my chilaquilles came out.Oh boy the chilaquilles:Dry dry dry chicken.Soggy as soggy gets. Absolutely no crunch, dont you guys pay for a broiler? Use it.The Verde sauce, the manager swore they scratch make it. I think he should double check prep for cans. It was overly salty and tasted straight from a can.The somewhat good: the buratta was good. I presume its bought in.The Apple butter was great, but in the menu it is listed as an chutney, where was the vinegar, the spice?I know this sounds like a bashing but I feel this review was 100% warranted. On top of it all our waitress seemed as if she were too good for most of the customers or a severe lack on work ethic as checking on your patrons every 10 minutes at best when sitting at the bar is absurd. The only reason I would contemplate giving them another shot is because friends say they love it and the manager was willing to listen to my criticism without losing his cool. I think he has A LOT to learn and teach his staff.
