Uchiwa Ramen
821 B St, San Rafael, CA 94901, United States
Ramen on a rainy day was a perfect pairing. My office and I scrambled to get a To-Go order in for our lunch today: our first choice was unresponsive to our online inquiry or answering their phones to let us know that To-Go wasnt an option for their place anymore.. so we found this spot.Excellent Customer service, first and foremost. I will sing praises of this place for their patience, their attention to detail and thoughtfulness of our situation. Both people behind the counter were amazing folks, and they were swamped with people coming through for their lunch rush and having phone calls and To-Go orders made at the location. They were awesome! The food was well worth it. I received the Miso Ramen and it was a beautiful, traditionally made dish. Everything was portioned perfectly and the tempature was still hot when I got to it. They packaged it well and with the most thought! I never had to worry about the Raman dishes spilling or getting ruined! They even added a hi-chew! Haha I love that!I dont live in this area, but if I work here again, I know I can come back to this place!
TuTu Lounge
1335 4th St, San Rafael, CA 94901, United States
This place was absolutely incredible. I was looking for a delicious breakfast place anywhere in Marin that didnt just serve basic diner food, and preferably somewhere we hadnt been before. I found TuTu after quite a while scrolling and knew right away that that was the place to try, and boy am I glad we did.Firstly, I absolutely love that they have a huge focus on breakfast. Im a big breakfast person and being able to walk in at noon and be able to order anything on the menu (which was 80% breakfast items) was a dream. Im they are now beginning to serve dinner, and they did have plenty of lunch options if breakfast isnt your thing. The menu selection was amazing - they had 6 or 8 different kinds of eggs benedict (all of which sounded delicious), as well as a few other twists on breakfast classics that all sounded interesting. We ended up getting the croffle (croissant waffle) with berries and the parmesan french toast. The croffle was divine with plenty of fruit, and my partner was pleasantly surprised by the parmesan french toast, which was served with bacon bits and a lovely bechemel sauce. Not only the food, but the drinks were absolutely top-notch. We got the mocha (which was made with dark chocolate; YUM) and the ube (taro) latte. Ive only ever had ube in a cold beverage so was excited to try it hot and I could not get over how delicious it was. If it werent for the fact I drink slowly, I would have ordered a second, and then probably a third. The staff was attentive, and friendly, the place had lovely decoration and a welcoming ambiance, and the food presentation easily matched its taste.Im not sure how long TuTu has been open but Im glad I found it, as it instantly became a new favorite. Make a stop here whenever youre nearby - you wont be sorry!

LaVier Latin Fusion Cuisine at Toast Restaurant...
1025 C St, San Rafael, CA 94901, United States
My partner had originally wanted to go to Sol food but after seeing the line that went through the block, we decided to Google highly rated places in the area.I was secretly happy about this because I'm a shameless foodie who had my eye all over LaVier after reading the reviews and boy, weren't we glad we did!I immediately gravitated towards the grilled trout because it looked amazing in the review photos while my partner opted for the beef selection and once again, man, was I glad I did!Holy moly…I had been snacking all day before we got there and I don't usually have the biggest appetite but for some reason, I developed superhuman powers to finish most of my meal because it was heavenly. The Pescado Asado (Baked whole trout w/ citrus, herbs, rice & beans$28.00 ) insanely delicious and my partner couldn't keep their hands off my plate! It was well seasoned and cooked to perfection with just the right amount of smokiness and salt, and well balanced with tanginess, sweet and herby-spiciness, topped with the most delicious seasoned rice and beans!I just wish the bones were edible because I was in denial that this delightful experience will eventually come to an end- so much so that I had to take home the remaining 1/4 of my meal (and bought the homemade salsa) so I can relive the experience once more- albeit just a 1/4 of it all.I highly HIGHLY recommend checking out this precious gem when you can because I still think about it today— 2 weeks after my meal.P.s. incredible service, warm hosts, and the place was decorated with character and heart. ❤️P.p.s. Sorry no photos because I don't have the habit of taking them and I'm usually too excited to eat the damn thing. Oh well, maybe next time!

Really great beer and cocktail and amazing food! The menu has a little bit of everything from pizza and burgers to Asian fusion. There is indoor seating as well as an outdoor patio area. The restaurant can get extremely busy so if youre planning on lunch or dinner during the weekend be prepared to wait. Theres a skee-ball table in the back, and when you go to the bathroom you can learn about the life of John Muir.
Tender Tenders
1815 4th St, San Rafael, CA 94901, United States
Amidst the bustling culinary landscape of our fair city, there exists a dining establishment that transcends both time and tradition, a place known as Tender Tenders. With a tagline that boldly proclaims the best tenders in history, one must prepare for a gastronomic voyage like no other. Yet, dear reader, beneath this alluring veneer of culinary excellence, a whisper of enigmatic intrigue weaves its way through the hallowed corridors of this establishment. As I ventured into the ethereal confines of Tender Tenders, I was immediately captivated by its opulent décor, reminiscent of a bygone era. The ghostly candlelight flickered gently upon the aged wooden beams and timeworn maritime artifacts, a testament to a history rich in maritime lore. Little did I know that these antiquities concealed a secret; one whispered among the citys culinary cognoscenti—an owner of otherworldly origin, a spectral pirate from an ancient past. The menu, a veritable parchment of maritime marvels, beckoned me forth into the unknown. The star attraction, as promised by the restaurants bold claim, was their legendary tenders. The Ghostly Captains Signature Tenders, to be precise. These tender morsels of succulent chicken, dressed in a whisper-thin, ethereal batter, were a revelation. Each bite was an exquisite dance of flavors, a fusion of culinary prowess and spectral mystique. One could almost hear the distant creaking of a phantom ships timbers as the flavors unfolded on the palate. The spectral touch extended beyond the tenders themselves. The sides, such as the Ghostly Slaw and Haunted Fries, bore the unmistakable mark of a chef who had transcended the boundaries of time and space to deliver a dining experience unlike any other. The coleslaw, with its delicate balance of tang and creaminess, invoked the nostalgia of long-lost seafaring feasts. The fries, crisp and golden, seemed to carry with them the echoes of a pirates treasure chest. The service, though subtly imbued with an air of otherworldly mystery, was impeccable. The staff, who moved with an uncanny grace, attended to every need with an almost preternatural intuition. One could almost believe that they were spectral apparitions themselves, orchestrating a symphony of culinary delight.Dessert, too, bore the unmistakable mark of the Ghostly Captains mastery. The Phantom Parfait, a delicate confection of ethereal creams and mysterious fruits, left me in a state of culinary rapture. It was as if the very essence of the ghostly owner had been captured in this final course. As I departed Tender Tenders, I couldnt help but ponder the enigmatic figure that is the restaurants owner—a ghostly pirate from an ancient past. It was as if his spirit lingered in every corner, infusing the restaurant with a unique blend of history, mystery, and gastronomic excellence. Tender Tenders, with its extraordinary tenders and spectral ambiance, is a dining experience that defies both time and convention. It is a place where the boundaries between the living and the spectral blur, and where culinary mastery meets spectral enigma. A true Michelin star establishment that transcends the ordinary and beckons the adventurous diner to embark on a journey of taste and intrigue like no other.
