Island Hut

So I ordered the chili special about 22 hours ago. I say this because I have been so sick, I slept for hours after this. It is chili, rice, a hot dog and salad w/dressing. I ate the salad ( which had clumpy dressing) and then tore into the Chile. Halfway thru it I began feeling incrementally nauseous. Next thing I knew I was projectile vomiting up all that I ate. I passed out. Just now I called Island Hut, asked for a manager and a guy said yes. I explained the above and he initially tried to dispute they carried the items then blew me off with a thank for my report, noone else had a problem, etc. The worst. Never again.-Edit- After a year of wanting their scrumptious food, I called back and spoke to Edgar, who offered a FAR better experience. Explained It again and comped the Chili and I bought Chicken and a unique drink. I am very happy to eat here again.

I was looking for some Veg options usually Thai restaurants never go wrong. I was checking whether the chicken was Halal unforutnately it was not. The business was unclaimed so wasnt sure whether I should go or try some other restaurant. Just took a chance. Was lucky its a small place in the PCH near Pennsylvania avenue. As soon as you enter you can see 5+ tables and nicely decorated wall. The ambiance was really nice.We went on Thursday night not much crowded. Got a place and the service was fantastic. She was really taking care of the customers. Prompt and responsive and was really getting the customization that we made.Ordered Veg Wonton(Fried and Steamed), Pineapple fried rice, Veg chow mein with fried Tofu and Yellow Curry. Was the quantity was good enough for 4 people(2 Adults and 2 Young Adults).Usually I never ate Tofu in most of the Thai restaurant try to pass it on or leave it without eating for some reason I never liked it. Here the texture and how they fried made me try and loved it. Yes I know I am not talking about the main dishes. All 4 items were absolutely amazing., Nothing to complain from the beginning to end it was really a nice experience.I will definitely visit again. Just note there are not much dessert options.Special kudos the person who served(Just missed her name). Usually I will be hesitant to give 5 rating but this one I am going with it.Note to the restaurant - Please claim your business in yelp
Bites and Bashes Catering
25600 Narbonne Ave, Lomita, CA 90717, United States
Their food is good but not excellent. Their CATERING SIDE OF THEEEE OPERATION is a different story however : Someone was interviewed and hired on the spot by Kim, the H.R. Manager but but but Crystal Coser said, well basically UN-hired someone because this person had A broken tooth veneer and 1 Dental tooth extraction on order to prepare for an implant. The tooth that had to be extracted was in the upper right quadrant, and yes it was visible, agreed. The other broken veneer was not to visible due to its location. Both teeth which was in the process of been repaired, been prepped for a replacement. So beeeecause of the simple fact that someone had a broken tooth veneer and a necessary extraction : as in a gap in the upper front area this was theee cause for Crystal to over-write Kim and UN-hire someone beeecause of a dental gap and broken Veneer. This person did have a gap on the front area, yes, agreed..This was during COVID-19s strick Facemasks policy established by the Los Angeles county Department of Public Health in which Facemask were mandatory by restaurants and Catering company employees. so if FACEMASKS were going to be involved before, during and after catering events ( as well as restaurants ). Why would Crystal Coser basically terminate someone because of A broken Dental Veneer ? I guess she is CONCERNED about thee image of HER COMPANY : about A broken Dental Veneer and an extracted tooth that will make HER COMPANY look bad eventhough COVID19 FACEMASKS would would cover the smiley face area she is concerned about... Crystal Coser how do YOU feel about YOUR IMAGINE NOW...???THERE is more, Since Crystal Coser UN-hired someone, this dedicated person would call, text and send Emails in order to book shifts with Bites and Bashes Crystal Cosers Catering Company. This went in for 2 Months. Guess what ?? There were no no NO returned calls, emails or texts. No type of communication from Bites and Bashes Catering. No Texts, calls, emails, radio traffic, Shortwave radio, satellite phone, CB, Telex, Fax, 2 way radio, Chirp Commo, smoke signals, Mirror signals, or messenger pichons. Nothing nothing telling this person something like Sorry, I Crystal Coser changed my mind So i told Kim my H.R. manager not to book you for any events . As a common courtesy at least tell someone they were UN-hired instead of this dedicated person stopped looking for work THINKING I GOT A JOB, I will just wait until THEY text me for events I can work Does Crystal Coser write BIAS-ED reviews due to the way a prep cook or line cook or a waitress / waiter / server looks like a bad car accident, or someone got burned during a house fire or A survivor of the Killing Fields Of Cambodia or A failed assassination attempt by North Korean Agents...Crystal Coser is also a co-editor for EaterLA...Discrimination is not only UN-ethical but is also ILLEGAL Crystal Coser...HOPE-FULLY you the readers will wonder what she does behind closed door regarding Catering and her little cafe in Lomita with matching name :Bites n Bashes Cafe and Catering25600 Narbonne AvenueLomita, CA. 90717THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME...

We have been coming here for years it's probably the only place that has not changed in this shopping center… the location is kind of hidden but the food there is good and the servers are the BEST, they are so accommodating!!!!! You will see they have some combos and if I am in the mood for a different side instead of white rice with my favorite chicken Saltado they will put whatever I ask for. They can mix and match for me I love them so much! The saltado is my go to. I don't really get sushi there but I see a lot of people getting it and they say it's always fresh :) I do love the ceviche it's a fusion ceviche not your normal ceviche… try it. 100 stars for their service! Look at the size of this fried beef cutlet it's literally too big for the plate and hanging off and this is a normal dinner plate it's HUGE!!!!! I asked for a side of fried rice with it this will last me 3 meals I have an air frier so I can refry and make it crisp again at home. This is really good with any of their spicy sauces but I am weird I like it with soy sauce. Lol
The Wok Experience

Love this place, but just had a horrible customer service from Lin (manager/owner?).I call to order and in my order I wanted extra mushrooms in my soup(as Ive ordered numerous times before)She told me it was not poossible and that I didnt understand that it was extra-quite rudely-i replied that I understood and was fine with it .Once I got to the restaurant:1. My order wasnt ready and had to wait (I got there 10min after Lin told me it would be ready) with her excuse being she couldnt read her own writing...2. There was no extra mushrooms in the soup-but found this only after I got home.I called again and got accused I didnt ask for the extra mushrooms. They said theyd prepare them and for me to come back. I got charged for them and Lin completely ignored me - not even offered an apology (even non committal like sorry I might have not understood your orders )Extremely disappointed by the customer service from Lin. I hope this gets addressed.
Suki Time Thai Kitchen
2271 Lomita Blvd, Lomita, CA 90717, United States
I ordered via website which offered free delivery. Within 5 minutes of the order, I received a call from the restaurant saying they were in the weeds and didnt have certain items. I was okay with the substitutions and the fact that it would be an hour for delivery. It was 2 hours later that we received our food and it was the first time I received food that was inedible--not all but one dish in particular. Do not order anything with beef from this restaurant. There is no quality control. I have never not been able to eat the beef from any restaurant before but this beef was full of grisle and inedible. I called several times during the second hour to see if my food was actually coming. No one answered the phone. EVER. I left messages and received a free thai ice tea and an apology. Was this worth it. NO! I am sad considering the number of great reviews.
Costco Wholesale
2640 Lomita Blvd, Torrance, CA 90505, United States
I would like to tell something about the humiliation I suffered from the cashier at the Costco Torrance branch. I am a costco business member since 2008. I purchased groceries and daily necessities with my two high school daughters. When my daughter put the items on the register and showed my Costco card, she refused because she was not the card holder. Even though the cashier saw me( mother )next to her, the cashier (he) told my daughter that she couldnt pay because it wasnt her card. I was right next to her, I explained that it was my card. Even though he could clearly see that we were one family, he recklessly said no to this card. My daughters was so embarrassed and didnt know what to do.This was the first humiliation, the second was a huge humiliation as I had to pay $165 for the items.Until now, I have mostly paid at Costco with my husbands card. I also used my husbands card when buying a refrigerator, MacBook, or other expensive home appliances. This is not a problem since one bank account is used for one house hold. But today, I became the person who stole and used the card for $165. This was because the card holder and credit card names were different. In that case, it would be okay to talk quietly. Because Costco always has a long line and a lot of people, and my daughters are in high school. The cashier thinks were scammers and says I cant pay because the name is different from the card. He loudly told me to show me another card. I only had Apple Pay. It took me 20 ~30 seconds to find my name written on the card. Instead of waiting for that time, he threatened to void all items. He didnt listen to me and my daughters and only spoke his own thoughts. He thought we were scammers and kept talking.I barely showed the picture with my name on it and paid the bill, but my daughters and I were so embarrassed, miserable, and our pride was hurt because we only paid $165.The cashier emphasized to the customers that they should donate to the childrens hospital. We were deciding to donate a certain amount while waiting in line. But not a word was said to us about donations. I felt very bad because after paying, the receipt was handed over to me like it was throwing away trash.Even now, 6 hours later, my daughters are still crying because of this absurd incident.I felt racism very clearly. This is a problem that could have passed by if only I had been in a bad mood. However, as my daughters live as minority American citizens, I do not want something like this to happen again in the future, so I am informing them of the cashiers actions that treated them unfairly.Even minorities are American citizens. We have the right to be treated fairly and to be respected.I tried to leave a comment on the Costco website, but I couldnt find a place to leave it, so Im leaving my review here.
