Masumi Japanese Restaurant
1140 W Colony Rd #110, Ripon, CA 95366, United States
I use to really like this place, but recent customer service experiences have changed that. One time we came with the whole family, and they gave us an extra roll by accident. We thought we had ordered the roll because we ordered a lot. They left it there for several minutes and then realized they have made that mistake. They rudely came back to the table and picked it up to take it away, when we asked why they were taking it away they said its not your roll. Mind you, this is during the pandemic, they cant pick it up off our table and hand it to somebody else. I guess they were anxious to throw it away. They said they could leave it if we wanted a charge on our bill. Despite having that poor experience we decided to try them again because we liked their food and we had been coming here for years. This time we got our food to go. Upon receiving scallops that were deep fried yet cold, we wanted to exchange it for a different roll. They werent friendly or very accommodating but I am glad they did change the roll for us because we thought the scallops in our prior roll were supposed to be cooked but they were raw. Thankfully they did exchange the roll. Of course they made us pay the $0.45 difference. And no they did not apologize for undercooking the roll they were supposed to cook. The service is bad here. The food used to be really good but its declining. And its expensive! We paid $10 for five small pieces! The prices are going up and the quality is going down. We wont be back.

Yummy Sushi
1201 W Main St ste 16, Ripon, CA 95366, United States
Not sure how to rate the service. The waitress served the food as soon as it was ready. So she did a great job. Food tastes great. The problem was that the chefs made the variety of ordered meals and sent them out as they were finished being prepared. Our party of eight could not eat at the same time as by the time the last two dishes were served,15 minutes had passed from when the first orders had been served. So rather than wait for the last plate to be served, friends were assured to begin eating them while hot. Funny thing was is that the last served was cold sushi. So if you dine here, ask that all the food be served at the same time if you want to eat together.

Garcias Mexican Restaurant

A gem in the middle of farmland. Do not let the looks deceive you, this place is amazing. The food tasted like high dollar Mexican Restaurants, and the portion is huge. Anywhere from $10 to $18, my carne asada was $15. I went here twice for lunch while being on a job. Nicest people you can find, timely services. 10stars. I’m Asian but good food is good food.

My Thai Cuisine
1222 W Colony Rd #150, Ripon, CA 95366, United States
This place is a total rip off!! I was told they dont serve lunch size portions on a Saturday, that I had to order the entree. The hostess acted haughty and condesending.I ordered a red curry with chicken and a Thai Iced tea. I was asked if I wanted rice. I asked if it came with the curry, she said no. What!!? What kind of an Asian restaurant doesnt serve rice with a curry? Modesto, California is not Beverly Hills. (Ripon is basically a suburb of Modesto)What I received was 16oz of a very red runny liquid with some vegetables and a little bit of chicken. A 10oz plastic to go cup of Thai tea. The cup was half full of ice.. Their tea tasted watered down and they put in too much sweet cream. WaBa has way better Thai tea!The curry tastes mediocre. The vegetables were crunchy. Its like they just tossed raw vegetables into the runny sauce and served it that way. Ive had better service and food elswhere. Wal-Marts/Ralphs/Vons deli soups are the same size, taste better and less expensive. Dont waste your hard earned money coming here.I was charged $20 for this? Never again!! This place is not worth the money they charge.

Flying J Travel Center
1501 Jack Tone Rd, Ripon, CA 95366, United States
There are better truck stops. Flying J is way over priced. They take full advantage of all travelers. I am all for capitalism. But a cup of eggs should not cost $5.00. Nor should a cup of fruit. Every other truck stop has corn dogs and burritos 2 for $1.99 cents. Why are theirs $3.00 . They sale more fuel than most truck stops, why are they always forty and fifty cents higher than the station 3 miles down the road? I have no complaints about their staff. They have great people working for them. And maybe those employees get paid really well with the extra cash flying j is stealing from truckers and travelers. I doubt it. I always choose the little stations over flying j. I go there when nothing else is available. Except in winnamucca, They have slots there and they seem to be some of the fairest slots in Winnamucca. That could change at any moment. I have been to almost every truck stop in america. With over 8 million comercial miles under my belt, I have seen major changes in Flying js all over the united states. Us truck drivers are no longer priority there. We are being squeezed for every nickle with zero gratitude. If it were not for us, they would never have got off the ground.

Panda Express
1422 W Colony Rd, Ripon, CA 95366, United States
Critical customer service fail.We tried to visit in Dec 2021 and its not even that they were rude, they failed to engage with us at all. We walked in and waited. Several employees saw us and looked away in the universal sign for helping you is not my job. The store was the opposite of busy. There was one customer at the register. There were two more seated at tables already. None in the drive thru. The employee at the register walked away...somewhere? The THREE employees directly in front of us within ten feet all watched her walk away, flicked their eyes to us in silent panic, and then dove into shuffling papers or staring at inert equipment. Its not like clearing my throat and saying excuse me would have caused them to notice our group. Our group finished discussing among ourselves what we intended to order. Then I counted the employees I could see from where I was standing, out loud, pointing at each of them. (Rude or reciprocal? I accept your judgement. I was hoping the three employees directly in front of us would be moved to say, Hi, let me get someone.) I counted SEVEN employees in plain sight. Since at that point no one had even said, Hey if you come through the drive through, I can take your order, our group decided that we could get much better food at New China anyway. We went to New China and got love-bombed by the one visible staff person (who found time to help cook, take all the orders, and still make customers feel like their presence was not an unexpected catastrophe) and had a delicious meal. If youre out of town, Panda Express can be a good meal, but if youre in Ripon, I highly recommend going to New China.
