Thai Hut Restaurant
120 E Foster Rd, Santa Maria, CA 93455, United States
I stopped by with friends, and I was so enchanted with this little business. They are absolutely delightful. Very attentive and customer oriented small family owned business. The vibe was like eating at grandma's house, it as so cozy and so warm and welcoming!A sweet little old lady got our orders, and let me tell you, not once took a note from anyone, but knew exactly who ordered what! And I mean, not just our table of 6 ppl, but the rest too. It was so heart warming to see family members buzz around constantly, making sure everyone was happy, refilling glasses before we knew we needed it, so truly top notch and very customer oriented.Great location too, right on the corner, plenty parking, good amount of space inside, and fabulous food.I had the Combination Fried Rice, we had several soups, curry, everyone was rolling their eyes. Stellar performance on all levels ?❤️??✨✨✨✨✨
Mikado Sushi Japanese Restaurant
209 Town Center E W, Santa Maria, CA 93454, United States
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mikado Sushi, and I must say that my experience was delightful. Located next to the Santa Maria mall downtown, this restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and a diverse menu of Japanese cuisine. To start off my meal, I ordered three California Tempura Rolls, one TNT Roll, and one Spicy Crunch Roll. The California Tempura Rolls were a delightful twist on the classic California roll, as they were lightly battered and fried to perfection. The crunchy exterior added a satisfying texture to the creamy filling, and the combination was a true delight for my taste buds. The TNT Roll was a standout dish, packed with a burst of flavors. The blend of spicy tuna, avocado, and cucumber provided a perfect balance of heat and freshness. Each bite was a mouthwatering experience that left me craving for more. The Spicy Crunch Roll was another winner on the menu. It had a fantastic kick of spiciness that perfectly complemented the crunchy texture. The combination of spicy mayo and the crispy topping provided a delightful contrast that added depth to the overall flavor. My dad opted for the Yakisoba Noodles, and I must say, they were a fantastic choice. The noodles were cooked to perfection, and the stir-fried vegetables added a burst of color and freshness. The flavors were well-balanced, and the portion size was generous. It was evident that great care had been taken to create a dish that pleased both the eyes and the palate. One aspect that stood out to me was the reasonable prices at Mikado Sushi. The quality of the food far exceeded my expectations given the affordability. It was refreshing to find a restaurant that offered such a high standard of cuisine without breaking the bank.Overall, I would highly recommend Mikado Sushi to anyone looking for a satisfying Japanese dining experience. The delicious and well-prepared food, combined with friendly service, makes it a fantastic choice for both casual meals and special occasions. Whether youre a sushi lover or prefer other Japanese dishes, Mikado Sushi is sure to leave you satisfied. I cant wait to visit again and try more of their delectable offerings.
Yanagi Sushi & Grill
2431 S Broadway, Santa Maria, CA 93454, United States
Oh where to begin. We arrived a few minutes early for our 6 oclock reservation for a teppanyaki grill, only to wait while the owner answered the phone three times while we were standing there to take carry-out orders. Finally, we were informed that there was no reservation for us. There was a reservation for a group our size for 5 pm, but, according to the owner, who wouldnt even look at us or speak to us, *if* that was our reservation, we were too late.We were told by the server we would have to wait for another group of 6 at 6:30 if we wanted to sit at the grill, but that we could order drinks and appetizers while we waited.Unfortunately, there was one server for the entire restaurant. I am aware of the struggles restaurants and other small businesses face at this time due to COVID-19, but they seriously should have had one person handling phone orders and at least one other server on the floor for the volume of patrons in the establishment. We sat down and in about 15 minutes, we placed our drink orders. In another 15 minutes, we got our drinks and placed our appetizer orders. Another 15 minutes after that, we placed our entree orders. If youre keeping track, it is now over 50 minutes after we were seated and the group of 6 we were waiting on had never arrived. Our waitress had so many other patrons, especially two large groups at the other grills, she truly never had a chance to check on us for refills or anything. Finally, an hour and fifteen minutes after we arrived, we were informed that our chef was on his way, yet somehow our appetizers went out as carry-out orders, and did we want to place new appetizer orders. Again, our server was very apologetic and you could tell she was completely overwhelmed. Finally our chef came out and he was great, so skilled, funny, and entertaining! We really appreciated his talent and effort. At one point, he was told he needed to create multiple carry-out orders while he was preparing our dinner. He told the server he did not appreciate the way our table was being ignored for other tables and carry-out orders and that she should tell the owner that.I feel really bad for the people who worked so hard to make a bad situation work to the best of their ability. The bottom line is, the owners do not appreciate nor respect their patrons, their servers, or their chefs. The owners need not worry, we will make sure not to burden them with our patronage ever again.
Boonie Thai Cuisine
618 E Main St, Santa Maria, CA 93454, United States
I really wish I could give a good review. Boonie was so nice. I ordered the scallop spicy fried rice, with chicken and tofu. My total was $14.80 which was surprising, but I went with it. I asked boonie if the scallops were good and she said oh yes. The scallops are really really good. So I had to get them. Well, boonie handed me my meal and wished me a good evening. I took the food down the street home and dug in. When I opened the contained I immediately noticed that the tofu was not seared, and was just mushy floppy bits. The scallops werent very fresh tasting and were super gritty. The tofu was very mushy, and the bell pepper was nearly raw. The rice was also quite mushy and seemed overcooked and didnt have any noticeable flavor even though I ordered the dish with medium heat. The chicken was really tough and didnt taste very good either. The basil leaf that is supposed to have a slightly sweet taste, tasted like nothing at all. I am really disappointed in this dinner. I dont often go back to restaurants and ask for my money back. And this wouldve been one of the times that I would do that. But like I said, boonie was super nice and i didnt want her to feel bad. I wish I could leave a better review. But if youre a restaurant, and you serve me that kind of food, you get a 1 star.
Sake Sushi
194 Town Center E, Santa Maria, CA 93454, United States
Wow, Id give them 0 stars if possible. Heres the scenario, we walked in were told to sit down. We sat down waiting for menus and a drink order so did a pair of gentlemen. Then three people showed up there was no place for them to sit. They arrived after us and the gentlemen. They proceed to clean the table for the three of them, the other gentlemen left. I was fine till they came back with menus for the three that arrived after us and the other gentlemen. I got so piss ed off we also left. Heres a tip for the manager who wasnt there. Teach your employees that you attend to people as they arrive. First come first served. Not serve as you wish. YOU LOST FOUR OTHER CUSTOMERS TO ATTEND TO THREE. LETS DO THE MATH? 4 $17.00 MEALS SERVED OR THREE. HOW ABOUT SEVEN. HIRE NEW MANAGEMENT AND STAFF OR YOULL SOON GO UNDER AND WONDER WHY.
Panda Express
236 E Betteravia Rd, Santa Maria, CA 93454, United States
The food is good but they need to seperate the online orders from the in person orders. I ordered 1 item and my order was done and sitting in line on the counter with about 9 orders in front of it and most of the orders where from online orders. I do not like cold food. I expect to get my food hot. So several of the orders in front of mine were waiting for an item to be refilled. My food was cold when I got it. And I ordered the Fire Shrimp... not good cold. At least they should have someone to be pushing out the orders that are completed. I had already paid when I ordered from the girl electronically taking the orders at the front of the line. So I couldnt just walk out.It would be pretty simple to assign one staff member to get the orders out to the customer as soon as its complete. Just check the orders and since they are paid already just get it out. So I will not be dining here if its like this again. It would have been good hot!!!The last couple times here is been much better! Fresh hot food and better service!
HaRu Sushi & Ramen
1551 Stowell, C St, Santa Maria, CA 93458, United States
Overall great experience.I was seated right away. Typical sushi/Ramen restaurant atmosphere.I went because I wanted Ramen and I was not disappointed. I got the spicy beef Ramen. The portion was large but I ate virtually all of it. The egg was especially good. Spice level was on the medium side but I have a pretty high tolerance for heat so take that how you will. The sushi menu looked good but I was too full to try one. So if you go for Ramen bring a friend so you can steal their sushi. The service was great the waitress with red hair (sorry I didnt catch her name) was super helpful and seemed genuinely kind. Very good time for sure. I recommend for the Ramen for sure. Next time Ill try the sushi.
Boba House
2047 S Broadway B, Santa Maria, CA 93454, United States
I'm giving it 3 stars because although the food was actually really good and the Thai tea was probably one of the best I've tasted in Santa Maria, the lady who was taking my order was very impatient and kept trying to rush me while I was deciding my order. I though that was rude and lacked customer service etiquette. Additionally some of the vegetables tasted old or had been sitting for a while and was fixed with fresh meat and other ingredients. It was good but something didn't taste right when I took some bites out of the food. The Thai tea was also pretty expensive for the size. Willing to give a second chance. Better luck next time for a better rating.

The overall experience and the price for wine and food is exceptional, but this is a 5 star system and I dont eat chicken nuggets-FoodThe food was less than ideal, but very high quality. Instead of trying to pitch me a wine club, let me buy some caviar and a Macanudo. Put a piece of sea bass on the menu for 42 and a pork cutlet for 36...much less, have a menu. The food offered is pre fix, it is the typical loud, too many ingredient deconstructed faire you expect from a chef or a kitchen who reads too many trends or has yet to find their identity.WINE-If most of your wine is from Bien Nacido, is it really your wine at all? A chardonnay blend from their estate stands out- mousy and meaty it was the most interesting thing I tried, aside their Gamey which was delicious as well. Everything else is what you would expect from new world wines- weak easy drinking, middle faire, or boozey and on the verge of unrefined. The service is exceptional and the grounds are breathtaking, but if you eat with your mind and have a point of reference it might be rogue on a piece of ham, or as they call it a pork cutlet.Id go back to try more, but apparently Im drinking Bien nacido anyways...
