The food deserves a better score, but our service was terrible. Multiple tables sat after us were served before us, our drinks took 20 minutes to get to the table and sat for 10 at the bar. My ribeye was delivered a few minutes after that, and had clearly been sitting for 15 minutes or more - it was cold.Every server in the restaurant passed by, seeing my plate pushed to the edge of the table, uneaten. Several made eye contact. Nobody said anything. When I finally told the server to take it back, she said shed fix it, and when I said I didnt want it reheated, she said shed have another made. At that point my date night was at an end, and my wife and I needed to get back to our kids. So no steak for daddy. No manager stopped by. Nothing was offered to improve the situation. Just bad service uninterested in their customers. Will not be eating there again.

Update 9/28/20What can I say that I haven't already. Stellar food and better service. From pick up, delivery and dine in. Always great. This time was pick up and the food and service was just as good as always. My GF and i prefer different spice levels and she doesn't like onions, scallions or tomatoes so we are always customizing our orders. What impressed me is they have never messed up an order. We've even gone to two different spice level for the salad dressing and they always accommodate. As for the food this trip, it was delicious. It's been a month or so since our last trip due to the pandemic, so the food just tasted even better than we remember. Will have to make sure not to wait so long before the next trip.———————One of the best Thai places I have ever been too. Flavors are amazing and service impeccable. Go to dishes are the spicy Beef Salad and Penang Curry, but have tried many others and all were great. Only mistake I've ever made was to order items spicy which is something they take serious. I've had to adjust to Med Spicy which is perfect for most and then can kick it up when needed with their spicy sauces. The one with green chiles is fire. When you dine in, they also give you a small serving of ice cream which always hits the spot.

I think this coffee shop is aesthetically pleasing, typical Instagram-centric design. The shop has lots of seating, both indoors and out when the weather permits. Not a whole lot of outlets (I counted three), so if youre there to study, you might be out of luck if its busy. They serve Klatch coffee, which is awesome. You hear that, coffee snobs? They got your coffee! Ive been here twice and both times, they didnt have several things available that we wanted. The first time it was the cold brew. I dont know how youre a coffee shop with no cold brew in the morning too. Its not like you had the opportunity to sell out before we came in because you werent open for more than a couple hours. This second time was today when I wanted their Blueberry Toast (freaking delicious, BTW- cant believe thats part of their kids menu) and they didnt have cream cheese. Later the same day, a couple different customers came in wanting to order things and I overheard the same, Sorry, were out or We dont have that right now. As a consumer, thats a little frustrating.I was surprised to find that their Blueberry Toast was as tasty as it was beautiful. It is described with a hint of mint. Im not sure if they intended on that to mean the little bit of fresh mint leaves they stuck in it or there was supposed to be a light, minty taste to it (there was none). Either way, absolutely delectable. I know I got lucky because blueberries arent always such but when I got my toast, the berries were humungous and plentiful (unfortunately it doesnt show up that way in my photo) and super sweet.I was also pleasantly surprised by their Mango Habanero Roasted Beef. Im not usually impressed by sandwiches I get from most places but this one was perfectly balanced with the delicious lightly toasted bread, thinly sliced beef, the sweet and spicy mango jam, the Swiss and arugula. It was hearty without being heavy.Their Matcha Latte was so weak. Pale and nearly flavorless. I was so disappointed by it. My daughter loved their London Fog, although she had to tell them to cut the vanilla in half because it wouldve been too much for her otherwise.I like that youre greeted immediately when you come in but its never by that girl with the short pixie cut hair. Shes not very friendly and I dont particularly like dealing with her. Look, I get it it- I dont like people either but if you choose a job where you know the description includes people interaction, then fake it. Smile, pretend that youre nice and friendly. Just having to place an order with her feels like youre bothering her to do her job and coming from a restaurant management and customer service background, I dont appreciate that sort of tired attitude. The vibe of this place bothers me. The perfect example was that there was a middle-aged couple at a table next to us. You could see they were one of those slightly hoity-toity, fussy people, total WASP vibe. They ordered a bunch of stuff between the two of them, sending one thing back to be remade because the lady didnt want the cheese, blah blah blah. They ate and left, leaving a mess on the table, which again, coming from a restaurant background, is a non-issue. Its an eatery; people are going to make a mess, deal with it. However, when the two female employees came over to clean the table, they were clearly displeased about the mess (which wasnt terrible, trust me; Ive seen a hell of a lot worse). The one with the short pixie cut goes, OMG, really? with the Asian one laughing and nodding in agreement, I know, right? Pixie Cut follows up with, What? Were these people raised in a barn? O-KAY, TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR THERE, BUDDIES. That was not all right. My table was right next to that one. I could clearly hear the comments without even having to try.If not for the weak matcha and even weaker customer rapport, Id give this place a solid five stars.
The Only Place In Town

So bad.I went to this restaurant,The waitress gave the bill when We were still eating, and asking how many boxes do we need?I really didn’t want to pay the tip,but I paid fully enough.Because the restaurant is the one my kids school order food. But today We got treated rudely and discriminated, the waiters didn’t treat other clients this same way like treating us,it is because we have Asian faces?it is not deserved for We loved it so much for long time.Hope their boss can teach the staffs how to treat clients no rudeness and discrimination.I may defend my right for no discrimination.

She took our order, I asked for a recommendation and she said that the corizo and eggsAnd rice and beans were good and the benedicts and hash brow, we got that . When my food arrivesIt was TERRIBLELooked like they put the rice and beans in the microwaveAnd the big pieces of tomato and green pepper in my eggs. The hash-brow burned WHAT A MEDIOCRE BREAKFAST AND A SERVICE.When I asked another server (she have a messy hair)That I didnt like my food and I needed helpShe didnt answer asked her for the second timeAnd she rudely responded Im not your server, you should look for your server and she will help youSo waited for the server. But she never came backAsk a Latino gentlemen and ask for a refillAnd told him to change my plate, he was likeWe cant take out that from the checkWe can give you something else but you need to pay for both anyways. Wistaria Restaurant and Bar
44 N Baldwin Ave, Sierra Madre, CA 91024, United States
I live walking distance from this restaurant and have dined here twice. The first time was just after they opened. I was underwhelmed. The food and service were fair, but I attributed this to being a new restaurant. Last Saturday, my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. We initially were planning on having a quiet night at home, but at the last minute my wife suggested we walk to Wistaria and give it another try. We called to make a reservation and our table was ready when we arrived. We didnt tell the restaurant we were celebrating a special occasion because we wanted to be low key.The place was full and it was quite some time before our server arrived. She seemed rushed and not overly friendly. After taking our drink orders, she said she would bring bread to our table if there was any left. When the server returned with our drinks we were told they were out of bread. While waiting for our meals another party was seated at a table nearby and their server brought them bread. When another server filled our water glasses, we inquired about the bread and a few moments later he returned with bread. When our server returned to our table she noticed the bread but said nothing. Our food was just okay. Not bad, but not great either. We have really wanted to like this place but for for the price, well choose to dine elsewhere for better tasting food and service thats aimed to please.
