Din Tai Noodle
1034 E Bastanchury Rd, Fullerton, CA 92835, United States
I am such a fan of these little mom and pop Chinese restaurants. It makes me think of my own family and how hard they worked to support everyone. This restaurant is a mom cooking, with her kids who help out (the older one helps take orders and serve, the younger two help bring water and clean the tables). To the reviewer who spoke negatively about this restaurant looking like a daycare and wanting the kids to be out of sight, shame on you for shaming a mom running a restaurant; this is what it’s like for people who have to grind to give their kids the best they can.Having said that, we happened on this place when the Italian restaurant next door was randomly closed. I am so glad it was, because this food was GREAT.The menu isn’t huge, but we ordered a lot and everything was really good - xiao long bao, pork and shrimp dumplings, wonton noodle soup, beef rolls and pan fried pork buns. Of course this ain’t DTF but this was really solid Chinese food, and it’s perfect for a rainy day. We’ll definitely make this a regular place in our rotation!
Noodle St.

A nice place for Chinese noodles. You can put together a custom bowl of noodles by choosing your noodle type, soup base, and toppings. Or you can choose from preset noodle soups and fried noodles. They have a couple of rice choices and dumplings. We ordered the beef noodle soup, yu xiang pork noodles, juicy dumplings (xiao long bao), and beef roll. The beef noodle is a clear beef broth with tender slices of beef. The yu xiang pork noodles is kind of like a sweet and sour pork flavored stir fry noodles. Everything tasted alright but felt like Ive had better versions at other restaurants. If you are in the area and in the mood for this type of food its worth a try. Parking can get difficult to find as the parking lot isnt big and the plaza has some popular stores.

Somewhat different style of hotpot, if it can be considered this. An apt description of what kind of restaurant this is, is more of a create your own bowl place, where you just grab the various toppings/veggies/noodles/beef in whatever magnitude and order you want. However, note, theres a procedure that you need to do, which is not written anywhere or how to do anything here. The staff either dont really speak English, or they have a low mumble voice, either or, its very hard to communicate with them. They are also pretty rude and brash on the procedure of things and gets frustrated pretty quickly when you dont understand what theyre saying. You are supposed to sign up on the Yelp pad to get seated, though based on observation, they have no one coming out to seat anyone, even with tables empty. If you sign on the pad and find your own table, since youll need a place to sit after giving your order to them to cook, theyll get pretty pissy.Other than that, the food is priced at $13.99 per pound for soup bowls and $14.99 for bowl mix. What I find somewhat scummy is that the scale isnt rated so your end price also includes the bowls weight, which itself isnt light. The food itself was alright, they had some interesting toppings, which I didnt grab. Note that the Traditional Pork Bone broth has to come with some level of spice, which is suspicious, as if you had a traditional bone pork broth, you would want to let your clientele to taste the many hour simmered broth...unless they used powder to make their base and then use spicy oil to help cover that fact.Im not sure if Ill come back here again, even though the food was alright, as I think youll have a better experience elsewhere.
Gaos BBQ & Crab
1390 Fullerton Rd # 102, Rowland Heights, CA 91748, United States
The reason for so many 5-star reviews (Picture 1)First of all, the skewers chef in the kitchen is not Chinese. The way he sprinkles the ingredients seems neither light nor heavy, which makes the food taste extremely salty and spicy, completely losing the balance of barbecue. We ordered the red willow lamb, but all three of us had a sour taste and didnt dare to eat any more. The same goes for the chicken skewers, which had a distinct stale taste. The roasted leeks smell like vegetables with rotten edges that have been stored for several days. They are hard to chew and very dry. It is better to go to some DY tutorials (but scald them in boiling water before roasting...) (Picture 3)The baked potato slices were even more bursting, not at all the crispy texture I imagined. They were soft and full of toppings, making them difficult to swallow (Picture 2)The eggplant is not the garlic grilled eggplant that we are familiar with, but the tajin grilled eggplant that is closer to the Mexican style, sour, spicy and sweet. HahaThe roasted seitan was dry and tough, and the king of kings was just average. The only ones that were acceptable were the veal and lamb kebabs, but there was nothing particularly outstanding about them. The most delicious thing in the whole place was the melon seeds provided for free.
Cafe Patio Korean - Chinese Pub & Cuisine

I've been wanting to go to this place for a long time now and I was finally able to last night.Food was amazing! I can't wait to go back and try other dishes. Wait wasn't bad for a Friday night. It's always expected and it's also a good sign for any good place.Everybody was very helpful starting from the host, food runners and servers. They recommended a few things and it did not disappoint.I would've given this place a 5 stars but they forgot to bring a few things we ordered and they also forgot about our food Togo we had to ask 3 times and it took a long time for that and to pay our bill.My only recommendation is to the staff to make sure customers are happy and pay attention to little things like that. We were not in a rush but we also didn't want to spend over 2 hours having dinner. Water refills also took a long time but that's the only thing. I'm still going to come back and give it another try.

KPB Asian Bistro

What a great place for lunch! Best spot for Chinese food in Tustin. Their $12.99 lunch menu has a wide variety and each lunch entree comes with option of egg roll or potsticker, egg drop flower or hot and sour soup, and choice of rice, chow mein, or fresh sautéed vegetables. Everything our party of three tried was fantastic. I can't wait to come back and eat through their lunch menu that has over a dozen options. Wait staff was quick and attentive. Food came out fast, hot, fresh, and delicious. You could tell all ingredients are of the best quality. The orange chicken, especially, fried, just crispy, but not dried out inside. The Mongolian beef, lean and yet tender and not over cooked. Service was very attentive, but not hovering. And setting very comfortable and quiet, perfect for a business lunch or get together with friends. Seriously, quality of the food was right up there with PF Chang‘s, but not over the top pricing or crazy expensive décor. Definitely coming back with all my friends and family. You gotta try this place for lunch or dinner or cater your next office event. Great deal for the price.PS looked at lowest rated reviews and noticed they are from way before new ownership took over just six weeks ago, so you can completely discount the one and two star reviews.
Dun Huang
1370 Fullerton Rd #105, Rowland Heights, CA 91748, United States
SUMMARY: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Everything in this place speaks ”PRIMIUM” which sets itself well apart from the traditional hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurants. The main dining room is spacious and well laid out with pleasant modern decor. The service staffs warmly greet you as you walk in and pay close attention to you throughout, drinks are promptly filled before it gets half empty, extra napkins are on your table without asking for it.A glass window showcasing their in-house hand-pulled noodle. And the menu is very well written. Two private banquet rooms are available. And also a dog-friendly outdoor patio seating. For my first time, I ordered the Braised Beef Noodle Soup, a perfect combination of tender, well-marinated beef chunks, savory beef broth and just the right chewiness of the noodle. It is the best Ive ever had,It is very rare to see a Chinese Restaurant that is so well thought out. I will most definitely be back for more.
Java Spice
1743 Fullerton Rd, Rowland Heights, CA 91748, United States
1st Review of 2015!!!! Woo Hooo!Java Spice allows you to be as flavor adventurous as your little heart desires! There are some safe options such as fried rice and noodle and some more daring options like the weekend special which included Rice Wrapped in Banana Leaf with Spice Beef, Marinated Fried Chicken, Egg, Tofu, Jack Fruit Chili Sauce. The names were impossible for me to pronounce but the flavors were undeniable to resist.I went here on a Saturday with my family, most of us have never tried Indonesian food before and this place seemed simple and sweet enough to try. The restaurant itself is a bit small and seems more like a fast-food joint than a sit down restaurant. We ended up getting the best of both worlds; food came out fast and also quality food.We ordered a couple of different items so as to try a variety. I had the combination fried rice which came with both shrimp and chicken and a fried egg, we also got the flat noodles with shrimp, the fried noodles with bbq chicken, the fried rice with lamb, Rice Wrapped in Banana Leaf with Spice Beef, Marinated Fried Chicken, Egg, Tofu, Jack Fruit Chili Sauce, the bbq chicken with rice and some butter shrimp. It was a ton of food all with an exceptional degree of exciting flavors. The fried rice was perfectly spiced, not an overbearing spicy level yet the subtle burn with the after taste. I would of preferred the egg over easy but it was just as tasty fried. One of my favorite dishes was the bbq chicken. It was seasoned so well and all the juices made an excellent sauce for the rice.Every dish we had we loved. Really couldnt complain about lack of seasoning or portion size. Its plenty and for a great price (about $8 per plate).Overall LOVED this place!
