Din Tai Fung

The atmosphere felt very rich, and the staff were very attentive and friendly. They really put their best foot forward in terms of service, but the flavor of the food was not on the same level, unfortunately. For those who do not have a Chinese palette, the food may seem fine, but I can hardly compare it to authentic Chinese flavors. We ordered the following:• Crab and kurobuta pork xlb: The crab was overpowering the pork, and even then, there was not much flavor. The skin was delicate, and the presentation beautiful, but once eaten, it was on the bland side.• Shrimp and kurobuta pork dumplings: Once again, beautiful presentation, but we only tasted shrimp.• Beef noodle soup: The noodles were tasteless and did not have any flavor on its own. The beef was very tender, though, but the soup was average.• Mustard greens and sliced ginger: Just stems quickly stir fried with ginger. The dish got cold so quickly since we were outside that within minutes, it was just cold vegetables.• Hot jasmine tea: Once you get to the bottom of the pitcher, you can taste that the tea had been oversteeped and bitter.Unfortunately, we didnt feel comfortable sharing our thoughts on the food with the staff since they approached us very positively. As a chain Chinese restaurant, I hope Din Tai Fung considers re-evaluating the taste of their dishes at the Glendale location. It may be because theyre trying to placate the local palette, but somehow I feel like the essence of Chinese food is lost that way to an audience that may not know what Asian food should taste like in the first place. Especially for the amount of money people are spending in a place like this, please consider that the atmosphere and staff are not the only things that matter but also the taste of the dishes themselves. Best wishes to the DTF staff there :)

This is the best hole in the wall restaurant for teriyaki food in Glendale!!! Been coming here for roughly 15 years and will continue to go till their last day. I always get the shrimp chowmein but the chicken and beef is really good too! Their teriyaki sauce is home made and sooo good! What I like about this place is that food is made to order. Its not like Panda Express that sometimes has food sitting for a while. I mean its not bad once in a blue moon but mitzees is way better especially on the rainy days lol. If your thinking about going but unsure, dont hesitate, pull the trigger. And when you go, make sure to leave a review. Allot of us now a days go by reviews. When you go, make sure you ask questions just to be sure your not allergic to anything or whatever.Small plate is $8 and change and large I think $10. Almost everyone, I get the $8 because its good portions and pretty filling. Also, it might not look like they have a bathroom but they do. Its all the way to the back and thru the door, youll see it.Stop by, you wont regret it, I promise!

The welcoming vibe, accentuated by tantalizing aromas, set a perfect stage for the culinary symphony that awaited. The team at Joon Shabu Shabu was exceptional, radiating a blend of genuine warmth and professionalism that made me feel immediately at home and cherished. Their guidance through the menu and the dining process was like having a personal culinary coach by our side, ensuring that my companion and I felt confident and excited about the adventure we were about to undertake. This thoughtful, non-intrusive support allowed us to savor the array of sauces and ingredients at our own rhythm, adding layers of joy and discovery to our meal.As we placed our orders, the excellence of service continued to shine. The dishes served were a feast not just for the taste buds but for the soul, with every bite bursting with freshness and flavor. The ingredients were abundant, and the equipment was so clean and simple to use, making the entire cooking process a breeze and incredibly fun.Visiting Joon Shabu Shabu was a transformative journey for me, turning what I presumed might be a complex dining style into a celebration of simplicity and conviviality. Glendale Ph Co.

I like their pho but not so much with Thai tea or Vietnamese coffee. Thai tea hd weak flavor or different tea type than I usually drink. And coffee was packet. I could taste corn syrup solids, too instant, they don’t brew their coffee.Pho noodles were premade and put in the bowl got ready and then when they get order, the broth is poured into. Noodles were stuck together and bit cold, so you have to stir it up with your chopsticks. The chopsticks are Chinese style. Long and think and rounded square. Not ideal for good grip to get slippery noodles. I prefer wooden chopsticks or thinner.Spring rolls were premade I noticed. But it was good. I am celiac so I asked for the sweet and sour fish sauce along with peanut sauce (usually peanut sauce has Hoisin and that is not gluten-free). I got shrimp. The content was decent and my 1 year old liked to chew on it.Broth was good but not impressed.Good amount of meat in the combination pho. I like the chewiness of tripes.Condiment veggies, they gave extra onion and spring onions and cilantro. I like that.Service is great. They are kind and thoughtful with kids, they brought high chair, little scissors, small bowls and small utensils for little kids. (I have 1 yr, 5 yrs old kids)Parking on street was easy on Saturday lunch but it was after 2pm so it could be busier around noon.Street parking uses coins and app called ‘paybyphone’. Using app is easier to pay. (Who carries around coins these days, anyway?)Overall nice restaurant, good service and food comes out fast. I did not get sick from eating. (I am hyper symptomatic)I will be back with my family again!
Indochine Vien

Been supporting this spot for years now and I appreciate the consistency.I usually get the grilled pork (w/ shrimp) spring rolls [Goi Cuon Thit Nuong] and marinated chicken w/ rice [Ga Nuong].I switched it up tonight and didn't get the latter, but tried the crispy tofu w/ sliced cucumber, etc. [Tofu Delight] for the first time. I've been sleeping on these refreshingly light and flavorful bites. No matter the time of day, I always get Ca Phe Sua Da. Yum.
Kozy Korner Thai Food

Delivery Review:I was starving and I wanted something healthy but delicious that wasnt my normal go to of Chinese delivery. So I found this place. And god knows theres not enough good delivery in Glendale. For the price I got the amount expected. Its not overflowing like youd get at Chinese fast food, but its definitely enough to fill me up with some leftovers.#15 Tom Yum Koong 4.5 stars;Very good. Its not 100% made from scratch but its pretty darn close and it taste better than most Tom Yum Soups in Glendale where they give you a tiny bowl of flavored water with 1 shrimp in it and nothing else. This one is not like that. Its overflowing with veggies/mushrooms AND shrimp.# 63 Ginger (chicken) 3 starsThis was very plain tasting, nothing stood out. Though, it was very healthy and extremely light (youll need to add some soysauce to it if you want more flavor) and pairs excellently with a heavy flavored dish (like the Spicy fish) so it worked out great as a palatet cleanser. I wouldnt recommend getting this by itself as it would be too boring for most.#84 Spicy Catfish 5 starsThis was by far the best thing I ordered and one of the best tasting fish I ever ordered anywhere in an Asian restaurant in Glendale (I know, kind of crazy, right!) But I think a hidden gem at this place is their fish. It had tons of flavor and very fresh. It tasted authentic like a good home cooked fish. If youre only going to get 1 dish, dont get a chicken dish, or any other meat (based on the multiple mixed reviews) get one of their fish dishes.Unlike the other reviewer that said the spicy is too spicy I care to differ. And I fricken love spicy, I love spicy more than you. I ordered it authentically spicy and it was perfect. It didnt kill the flavor at all it was a great.Dont get the other meats. Get the fish! You wont be disappointed. My food came in 20 min. Thats the fastest delivery Ive ever gotten and they gave me a free Thai tea. This place is great for the price.
Panda Inn

Conveniently located next to Glendale Laemmle Theatre, this is a great choice to dine before or after seeing a movie. They are open weekdays until 10pm, and little later on weekends.EXCELLENT food, friendly fast service, ambience - the lobby has cushioned seating, art, and there is also a full service cocktail bar. It is very welcoming and has been at this location since 1973.The menu has a few rarities you wont find at other Chinese restaurants including Forbidden Rice, which is a black rice served with vegetable medley and Upside Down Crispy Noodles, served with cabbage, mushrooms, snow peas, shitake mushroom, bamboo shoots and bean sprouts. There is a good variety here in appetizers, soup and entrees. Many of the dishes served here are highly seasoned, however, if you ask, they will make any dish without peppers or seasoning.Portions here are generous, so if you and your date fancy the same thing, you can share it and still have food leftover.I was quite pleased with Honey Walnut Shrimp - tiger shrimp was cooked perfectly, and each bite the perfect blend of honey and walnuts.Other dishes you must try are Tea Smoked Duck, Mushu Wraps or ANY of the Signature Dishes. Additionally, fortune cookies, delivered in colored foil, have white chocolate accent.Excellent place, service and food. I look forward to working my way down the menu and trying everything.
Thai Me Upp
818 N Pacific Ave Suite D, Glendale, CA 91203, United States
Love me some great Thai food!We were in the mood to have some coconut soup so we decided to try this place out. They have a pretty decent size parking structure that they share with other businesses so you wont have a problem parking. However if you want to use the restroom, you have to exit the restaurant with a key that they provide and its located outside the restaurant, corner of the plaza. Its not the most clean place so dont expect to have 5 star treatment. When we arrived there table next to us was still dirty from the previous customers and it took them a while to clean it. Our table also had some crumbs on it as well which we asked to be cleaned again.Right when we sat down we ordered: Devil Wings as appetizer, one big order of Tom Kha with chicken and one Pad See Ew with no meat, just veggies.Which we waited they brought out complimentary shrimp skin which was oily but good. Not long after our food arrived. The Devil Wings were amazing!! They came with a side of Brussels sprouts and cauliflowers around it which was incredibly delicious. The wings themselves were very juicy and meaty. So amazing. The Tom Kha was wonderful as well. The broth was very delicious and coconuty. There was a lot of chicken in there, more than it shouldve been. But it still gave it a nice flavor. We ended up leaving a huge chuck of chicken leftover since there was too much of it in there. Lastly, the Pan See Ew with veggies. This was also great. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the veggies were nicely steamed and they came the dish a beautiful color.Overall the food was amazing, if you can overlook the fact that the bathroom is located outside of the restaurant and the fact that its not super clean its a pretty decent place to grab a quick lunch or dinner.
Pad Thai bistro
730 S Central Ave #104, Glendale, CA 91204, United States
They are THIEVES. Picked up to go order, selected no tip on the iPad. Few days later, checked my statement, and they sneakily added 18% tip. When I called them, they weren't surprised at all, meaning this is their MO, and this time someone called them out on it. Add insult to injury, they asked if I wanted money back or credit the next time I ordered there. Man, you tried to STEAL from me. BEWARE.
