HI BBQ CHICKEN - Korean Restaurant
1535 E Ontario Ave #101, Corona, CA 92881, United States
Heard about this place via my mom who saw it mentioned on Facebook quite a bit so wanted to check it outInterior decoration was a bit odd but homey. One thing I would say is it was very dark and quiet so felt a bit awkward to eat inside. The only server there was nice although we didnt speak much, she only had us and another table to wait on.We got soy garlic wings, hi chicken plate, and tteokbokki.Wings - delicious. Good flavor, excellent crunch, and meat was juicy. The fries were also good as they were the lightly seasoned kindTteokbokki- felt a bit overcooked but I dont mind as love the chewy texture. The sauce felt a bit watery but the flavor was definitely nice and spicy. Added hotdogs and veggies were niceHi chicken plate- great bang for your buck. Plenty of chicken served with rice and veggies as well as a Mac salad and small serving of fruit. It was very dead when we went so I hope that this place can get more recognition so that it sees more regular buisness and feels a tad bit more lively
Bone & Broth - Vietnamese Pho Cuisine
4320 Mills Cir Suite A, Ontario, CA 91764, United States
1. LocationBone & Broth sits on the outer perimeter of Ontario Mills next to McDonalds. It is also 10 mins away from Ontario Airport.2. ParkingThere is ample space in the plaza so parking is not an issue.3. OrderedCrispy Salmon & Rice (Cm Cá Chiên)House Special Fried Chicken Wings (Cánh Gà Chiên Nớc Mắm)Thai Tea4. ThoughtsI came to Bone & Broth during their Grand Opening. The overall feel of the restaurant was very modern and welcoming with an open floor plan. The star anise designs scattered throughout were a nice touch to the décor and goes well with the restaurants name. Bathrooms were clean and spacious. The staff was very attentive in seating us promptly and providing service throughout our time there. They made sure to sit patrons 6 feet apart from other groups/parties.We ordered the House Special Fried Chicken Wings as an appetizer. It was marinated well in a garlicky fish sauce and was a tasty starter. The Crispy Salmon & Rice was made perfectly to provide a crispy and flaky taste and paired well with the house special sauce. The house special sauce was a refreshing and tangy accompaniment to the crispy salmon, rice, and veggies. The Thai tea was made just right and not too sweet at all. They also had an option for a green Thai Tea that was equally as tasty.5. Recommend?Yes! Bone & Broth is a family-owned restaurant with an assortment of delicious Vietnamese food options. It has a lot of potential to be something great for the area.

The Chefs Pho

First time here but we are already fans of Chef's Pho! My girl loves pho and I love Asian food but our corner pho spot closed down. We found Chef's Pho on Yelp and it's not too far away. It's under new ownership but the old place had good reviews so we decided to give it a try. They were great from start to finish. The young lady that took our order was patient and very helpful and made sure we got exactly what we wanted (even though I wasn't sure about what I did want!). We ordered pick up and she was polite and helpful when we got there and again, made sure we were getting what we wanted and we LOVE that! The food was great too! Only $27 for a giant serving of veggie chow-fun, large bowl of beef pho, and an order of spring rolls. Check our the pictures ‘cuz the spring rolls were amazing! I don't think I ever had spring roll that were that big before and they were super tasted! They came with peanut sauce and chopped peanuts for good measure plus a ginger carrot dollop in the side. My veggie chow fun was awesome. Sometimes you only get typical boring veggies but this had Bok Choi and healthy cubes of tofu!! My gf loved her pho, which was the point of going there; she said it was delicious. There was a healthy portion of meat, veggies, jalapeño (which I got cuz she's not into spicy) and we asked for extra bean sprouts and they gave us a big portion!! There is enough food for two meals, it was delicious, and very tasty. We can't wait to get back and dine in to enjoy the food plates the way the Chef would do it.
Golden Chopstix
1312 E Ontario Ave # 107, Corona, CA 92881, United States
I decided to walk-in to this place for lunch because I was nearby and it had a good rating. I got a 2-item combo. I was eating through the BBQ pork and I was almost done when suddenly I got a rotten taste in my mouth and had to spit it out. I had torn outside with my drink to gargle and spit out the taste in my mouth. It almost tasted like tasting a 9v battery. I told the people in the restaurant and a gentleman kept eating the BBQ pork with a toothpick from behind the counter and speaking in Chinese to the other 2 ladies who work there. He kept saying it was good. He came to my plate to even unravel the napkin where I spit out the food. They made me feel like I was doing it all on purpose and wanted to give me more food. I refused the offer and threw away over half the food I hadnt touched. I just couldnt eat anything else. The taste in my mouth is atrocious. Then they gave me back my money but not the extra I was charged for an ATM sale. I recommend no one eat here.
Kosuke ramen
4210 Inland Empire Blvd #D, Ontario, CA 91764, United States
I was excited to see Kosuke Ramen opening up in Ontario, right by the 10 Freeway close to Ontario Mills, but then I read my review for the Alhambra location and remembered feeling a little disappointed after my second visit. Its been several years since that last visit, and seeing all the positive feedback from the Inland Empire area (and the never ending lines at the Alhambra location), I decided to give them another try.Theyre still in their soft opening - although the banner states grand opening soft opening. I suppose theyre working out the kinks. This locations menu is a lot smaller and they dont serve curry or cold noodles; its primarily ramen with some appetizers.Service was not the best. Possibly the workers are fairly new, but it took awhile before we were seated after several workers saw that we were waiting in the doorway. We also had to flag someone to help us take our order after sitting at the table for quite some time. Im also not a fan of their credit card check-out system. They use a portable credit card machine where the worker stands next to you to process the card - you have to complete the tip option with someone looking over your shoulder, which obviously provides a little bit of pressure. Tip option starts at 15% and if you want to input your own amount, its a bit of a hassle. I wanted to calculate the amount myself, but wasnt given the option.Popcorn chicken appetizer - it wasnt bad, and the price is very affordable for $4.95. They offer popcorn chicken as a meat option to ramen, which is different but if youre going to go with the chicken, Id suggest getting it on the side so it doesnt get soggy. We went with a mild spiciness to the chicken, which was pretty spicy. Chicken pieces actually are whole bits of chicken with not too much batter, but the chicken was a little dry in my opinion. My friend enjoyed this though, so I think its a matter of preference.I went with their Kuro Ramen for $9.95. Didnt want to order the same ramen as my friend and wasnt sure if my stomach could handle the fish flavor soup of the tonkotsu shoyu, so this was the best choice. Ive had black sesame oil ramen broth before, and this one was on the lighter side. Came with half an egg, black mushrooms, green onion, ginger, and chashu. Noodles were the yellow ramen, which I dont usually prefer but they were chewy tasted alright. Broth was a miss though. After mixing in the black sesame, felt like the flavor was just so salty. There wasnt any sweetness from the tonkotsu that I craved. Chashu was alright - sliced thinly and didnt taste as great as other more authentic ramen shops. I also got a side of the spicy bamboo for $0.75 - it wasnt spicy at all and added a different flavor to the ramen, which I enjoyed. I do think that the bamboo came from a can though. My friend ordered the Tonkotsu ramen for $9.25 - pretty much the same ingredients as the Kuro except theres no black sesame oil. We both really liked the broth - it was really sweet and flavorful, definitely one of the better parts of the meal that night; however, my friend was not impressed with the chashu - he said there wasnt a clean flavoring to the meat and needed to be cooked a little more. The meat wasnt as rich and tender as other ramen places we enjoy, and seemed to taste more like the Chinese BBQ pork meats - dry and without flavor. Unfortunately he had a hard time downing the bowl of ramen.tl;dr - I hope they expand to offer curry dishes. The ramen was just okay for me (and a miss for my friend). Pricewise though, the dishes are very affordable and you can also add specific items to your ramen for a cheaper price, which I think is pretty great. Dont think Ill be returning anytime soon.
Get Sum Dim Sum
1520 N Mountain Ave #109, Ontario, CA 91762, United States
I came here twice already. The first time was this past Friday. I called ahead to place my order over the phone before I headed over so I didnt have to wait. I ordered #1 Crystal Shrimp Dumplings (har gow), #2 Siu Mai, #14 Shrimp Rice Rolls (cheung fun) and #26 Egg tarts. My total with tax came out to $26.41. There is plenty of seating inside but they didnt have any outdoor seating. They are right in between the Starbucks and My Delight Cupcakery. When I got there my order was ready and all packed up and I just paid and left. I was in and out within a couple minutes. I also received friendly customer service.I was originally planning on taking my food home to enjoy but I saw the steam coming out and knew the food was fresh and hot. I had my dog with me so I ended up eating in the parking lot haha. Wow the shrimp was juicy and flavorful, the textures were on point. The quality was similar to if I was eating dim sum at a restaurant with my family. It was too much food for me so I did end up having some left overs and finished it at home.So today (Sunday) my husband said what I had looked good and he wanted to try it as well so we came back! He got the BBQ pork buns, egg rolls, pan fried dumplings and siu mai. We also shared egg tarts. My husband usually doesnt care for dim sum but there are certain items he likes. He said he really enjoyed his food and would return anytime I was craving....I usually have to go to San Gabriel, Arcadia, Monterey Park for dim sum. We dont have any of options in this area for dim sum and good dim sum at that so Im so happy they opened!!
LA Express Chinese Food
2229 S Mountain Ave, Ontario, CA 91762, United States
1 star for portion size. And another star for my somewhat good/friendly customer service experience (first time customer). Now let me get real..the food is TASTELESS and cold. That might be a good thing considering that they might not add any extra seasonings/salt due to health risk but who knows for sure but looking at the BIG QUANTITY of food they give you..im highly doubting that now. Anywho, the chicken. The CHICKEN dont taste like CHICKEN. It honestly has a weird taste and texture to it (not just my opinion but i double checked with my husband). BUYERS AND EATERS BEWARE! It might not even be chicken, we didnt finish it. During the time when we were half way eating my stomach began hurting bad i couldnt eat well at all Which i thought was really weird. To add to all this my son came home sick from eating at this place. My husband got some really bad side effects too. And the smell on them both....phew! Naaasty! I know its TMI but this is just to give you an idea how bad. Again, CONSUMERS BE-WARE!!Oh and another thing i forgot to mention, while we were there we over heard the man yelling at some customers. Rushing and yelling at them, asking them to choose something, anything. Cause apparently they make anything you want, just order already (and be gone. As i saw it). The customers just stood there. I didnt hear whether they were answering him but they took a couple more minutes to decide and make a call. This man, yelling, caught everyones attention in the place. It was quite an odd experience i had as a first timmer here and new to the city/county. Will honestly say that i wont be going back with my family.
Panda Inn
3223 N Centre Lake Dr, Ontario, CA 91761, United States
Basically the same food served at Panda express. Mediocre at best. I expected more flavor for the price. There are so many authentic Chinese/Asian restaurants around that are much better. Used to go to the one in Pasadena back in the 80s -90s and it was sooo good. This was very disappointing. Very bland. The fortune cookies with white chocolate were very good. Egg rolls had no flavor, walnut shrimp and orange chicken were good as the Express locations. Short ribs were bland and the noodles theyre served on were horribly soggy and no flavor. Once the food was served we never saw pur server again except to bring the bill and take out boxes. Finally one of the people with us went and got some water at the bar. I really would have like some more lemonade but whatever. Oh we got some pan fried noodle dish with shrimp thing that was really bad. Out of 7 of us no one liked or ate it.
Mandarin House
KFC Same Plaza, 1118 W Mission Blvd F, Ontario, CA 91762, United States
I ordered from La Quinta Inn and was told that food would be delivered in 45 mins. I waited over an hour and no one ever came. I called the restaurant to check the status and was told multiple excuses, new driver, no one was in the room, etc. I was waiting in my room the entire time. The driver knew the room number but never called. They offered to send the order again after another 45 min wait... no apology, no rush, no discount for their mistake.Skip this place, they clearly need to work on customer service!
