Great find thanks to Eater LA- sushi in Compton is here. Almost isolated like a cute house on a hill this Japanese restaurant has a great selection of sushi, bowls, ramen and even Japanese drinks. Awesome decor and a friendly staff. Definitely a favorite for me now.

Today was my 1st time trying this place, I came across it on postmates yesterday and said I will try it today. The pictures looked great food looked delicious. Today at lunch I went over, the girl at the register could have been a bit more friendly. Being that it was my 1st time I had a few questions, which she seemed bothered by. While paying for my food a phone order came in for a Lunch Special. I stepped back to look at the menu because I didnt recall seeing anything about a lunch special. All I saw was dinner, apps, & drinks. I asked her why was the Lunch Special she told me it was up there. I asked her if the menu is supposed to scroll or anything because it was there. She said no then pulled out a pamphlet menu and show me the section tht said lunch. I then advised her that this was not up there. I over spent on my meal by purchasing a dinner because the in store menu only offered that option. Regard it did not matter, I was still super excited to try. Everything was great once I got home, opened up my container & began eating my food. I was more than halfway done when my fianceè had a bother look on his & was holding something in his fingers up for me to see. I couldnt see anything & told him so he came closer & there it was, a blondish colored strand of hair ??♀️?. I was so disappointed because at this point in my meal I was excited that I had found a new food place close to my home. He was very upset and disappointed that he had someones hair in his mouth, he decided to go back to the restaurant and to address the situation and let them know that they need to wear hair nets. He requested a refund where he was met with you probably put that in there yourself. This type of service is totally unacceptable, as a business this is not the response or approach you should take with your consumers. He was then offered for them to cook another meal & I knw some customers may feel okay thts acceptable, but I mean why would you want another meal with possibly another hair?? The establishment consistantly refused to honor a refund, and my fianceè refused a new meal. The issue was not resolved & they have lost a potential new customer with the horrible way they reacted to the situation. The food was good minus the hair if you still choose to patronize this establishment. Goid luck.

Calling in order didnt make a difference still had to wait just to be charged for the wrong order, charged a second time to pay difference once they figured out my correct order, but what happened next has me questioning any future visits... they had already handed me a large drink which I told the girl in drive-thru I ordered 2 med drinks not large which shouldve been their 1st flag to confirm order. Looked at me so confused then closed drive-thru window so I put straw in cup to take drink not to mention this drink had been sitting in car the whole time Im waiting for them to get it together then when I asked for the 2nd drink since I was charged the additional amount the girl was told to get the drink back! I only hope the car behind me was paying attention and that they did not pull out straw and serve the same soda!??! Didnt expect theyd take away large drink since 1) theyre mistake not mine, 2) inconvenience of charging my card 2xs again due to their mistake, 3) the whole wrong order issue, and 4) safety/health concerns due to covid.Poor service may eventually compromise business and thats too bad because the food is good.

Loved it! My first time tonight. Bought the plate for 35 bucks. It sounds a bit steep but the amount of food you get is to feed 2 people comfortably . I didnt even eat half of the food and Im stuffed! Now the best sauces I tried were the garlic one and the red hot sauce

They have Japanese food noodles, soups, their sushi rolls are amazing, tempura veggies are amazing, their fried ice cream it’s the best you have to try it!! Come try this new place just opened Two months ago. Spoke to the employees there they are very nice and spoke to the owner as well he told us about their place and their inspiring story on how they first opened their restaurant. Come check them out.!!

This place is fantastic. It is great for families with great clean and fresh options for kids an a great place for teens to feel mature without the risk of malignant behavior a fantastic owner with such a willingness to be a good vibe that they make some many dishesbwith no issues in regard to to realistic modifications The food is better than I was ready for and everything I have tried was cooked perfectly the drinks a both high quality and diverse with a fun selection of drinks and th vibe inside is chill and comfortable. Slap yo momma bowl is worth every penny if you can get one awesome bbq and I am hyped to try there Sunday brunch. Mad how many times I passed by and never went inUpdate great Paloma and they add the best fried macaroni balls I have had also tried my first sour theyre knowledge and willingness to be spectacular host/hostesses is phenomenal. A true gem of compton. I never stopped to appreciate it, but beyond the quality food and drinks the fact that you can trust them for a food drink and a respite from the monotony of the general get your food and go vibe of the neighborhood its good to find a place I can get a awesome fully loaded macaroni ball for me yet still have a sit down experience beaten by none in the neighborhood is fantastic a 150% must try for all ages dont be fooled by the gastropub part you will love it
