Akagi Restaurant
713 Camino Plaza, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
Ive been going here my whole life! Sure its not the ambiance of the Mark Hopkins but it is very San Bruno. Nice service, amazing plates such as the chicken or beef teriyaki! The tempura is pretty perfect! I love even the salad and soup on the side. The Salmon Teriyaki is also a go-to for me! Rolando, God Bless his soul but he always gave our family phenomenal service and his nephew is now a server there. A long standing quality Japanese restaurant in the neighborhood.

Gintei Japanese restaurant
235 El Camino Real, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
Good japanese restaurant, not very visible from outside (not the best area in town). Sushi good, miso soup excellent. Very good service. Definetely a good japanese restaurant, salmon superfresh, tuna fine. Prices probably a bit high for the area. Suggested, probably the best restaurant in San Bruno and North San Francisco.

Aji Ichi Japanese Restaurant
695 San Mateo Ave #3611, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
Weve been trying the sukiyaki at several upper-Peninsula Japanese restaurants. Aji Ichi has had the best so far. (We used to go to Kamemeshi House in South San Francisco, but theyve been offline since February.)The sukiyaki at Aji Ichi is comparable, closer to our house, and (most important) available!

Amami Sushi
1789 El Camino Real, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
The best sushi restaurant in Bay Area for freshness and price. Omakase cost $33 here and cost $150 in other Japanese restaurants which has better atmosphere but you cant eat atmosphere! Unless you want to impress your first date then it would be different. For day to day eating, none top this place. I have spend under $100/person upward to $2200/person elsewhere in the world. Dollar for dollar, this is the best value outside of Japan Tsukiji fish market.

spiral japanese restaurant
705 Camino Plaza, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
This is a delicious and authentic Japanese restaurant, which has been open for many years. They serve shushi. Lamian Noodles, barbecue, dessert and so on. The restaurant is clean, the waiters are enthusiastic and the business is skilled and fast. It takes us about twenty minutes from ordering to serving. Our consumption plus tips is around $30 per capita. Well arrive around six oclock. There arent many guests, so we dont have to wait. Great! A restaurant worth recommending.

Sarku Japan
1150 El Camino Real Suite 184, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
Sarku of Japan is one of those fast food restaurants you need to go yourself to make sure you get what you paid for, especially during end of quarter sales periods.Remember the old scams of paying for hot wax in a car wash to find out your paying extra for nothing? Thats the same thing that happens with double meat and extra sauce take out orders done through food services. The special containers they use cant hold the extra food your paying for to begin with, and when we placed two separate orders, one with extra meat and sauce, one normal, both orders had same exact weight and contents, so I basically paid $27 more for my family, to get nothing.Secondly, I find even when tipping a lot more, delivery will still try dropping off bad order, then confront Sarku for not including what was paid for. If you want extra sauce, want that double meat you paid for, be prepared to go there yourself which I normal do as even then they will try skimping out on the extras if your not there to make sure its done. Todays dinner was more chicken on plain rice than chicken teriyaki with sauce over rice. Go in yourself or risk getting ripped off. At least the food service refunded half my order when I sent pictures in immediately upon delivery. Sarku, shame on you!

Diamond Head General Store
260 El Camino Real, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
IS THIS PLACE HYPE Or THE TRUTH? LETS DIG IN.For most of us we know that this place has had the longest lines in San Bruno. And to be honest I have been avoiding this place because of that reason. Well today that changed. I was well aware of the wait time for this place, so we decided to hit em on a Friday instead of the weekend. We had a party of 4, keep in mind 6 people is the maximum number for a party due to the size of the establishment. We waited for about 70 mins on a Friday around noon. The weather was hot and luckily there is shade. They do not let you wait in the restaurant. We finally got seated and waited for about 10 minutes to have someone take our order. Lets start with The restaurant. As soon as you walk in You get hit with a smell of some good cookin. The seating arrangements are a little snug in the center but if you get a table close to a wall or window youre good. The paint on the walls is a little tacky it really doesnt fit the Japanese Hawaiian vibe that this place is going for. Reminds me of a 7yr old kids bedroom or a middle aged librarians bathroom. The ceiling had spots on it very dirty and cold. Lets get to the food. We got our food about 13mins after we ordered it, came out hot and I must say the presentation was excellent! They make their food look good! I ordered the the Fire in your hole fried chicken. Which is Japanese spicy fried chicken Ginger slaw with and a toasted cruffin over a sunny side up egg with a rack of country potatoes. The chicken was Crispy but a little overpowering with the seasoning which tasted Like the devils a****** It is pretty dam Spicy. The slaw was good not to tangy or acidic, and the potatoes were on the salty side,Kind of reminded me of the Red Robin Seasoning super salty (yuck). The one thing I did really enjoy was the cruffin. So good! Waiters are little slow being that we had Ordered the the spiciest thing on the menu I was kind of upset that the waiter did not come and re- fill our water until we had asked. This place is OK! it is definitely definitely not worth the wait if you do find yourself in San Bruno and have time to kill I would recommend this place if not Im sure you could find another place just as good this place is all HYPE!

Really tasty high end Japanese food. Every dish was well executed, the nigiri, skewers, and izakaya dishes were all excellent. Stoked to have a great Japanese restaurant in San Bruno, will be back!
