If I could leave a 0 star I would. I was happy to find out there was one close to me since my daughter and I love the one in Northridge. We know the wait takes some time so we planned accordingly and ordered with enough time through door dash. An hour goes by and the food isnt ready, now an hour and a half with second driver arriving....nothing. Call to find out why the food isnt ready and was told they dont fill Doordash orders unless they dont have any business. Makes no sense for a business to offer its services on Doordarshan if they dont wish to fulfill those orders. They also sold me id have to wait another 2:30 hours after already waiting 1:30 if I wish to continue with the order....wth?

Great local place to get amazing Korean soup without having to go to Korea town.I think people are a bit harsh on service. You can tell its owned by family. Every restaurant is having a hard time hiring additional people.I went for lunch during the week in a residential area so not surprised no one was there, the food was excellent for the area (obviously people might argue there are a lot more options in Korea town but we are not in Korea town). The person who served me was great. I know some gave bad service, but I disagree, you can tell the lady was a funny person and tried to bring the personality of fun and warm to you but her English is not great so for people not used to non native speaker may seem rude or not helpful, but she was trying. Also, for a lot of Korean restaurants in California, they come only when you ask and they usually have a door bell on the table, for those who are not used to that style of service might think they are rude, but thats the culture and its quite normal. If you want a diff service then Korean food might not be for you. :)

Had the spicy pork and rice and bulgogi roll. It was decent but didnt blow me away. However considering the price I cant complain much. Compared to other Korean places around the area they offer a good amount of food affordably. The above mentioned food cost around 15 bucks and I was stuffed. Wish they offered more variety but I understand its a small scale family restaurant. Parking is limited but there are some street parking.

I have not try a bunch of things from the menu, because i keep ordering the same things when I go. We had a box of doughnuts, different flavors, and my go back to is the strawberry funnel flavor, now .. the hotdog with melting cheese is unreal, the outside crust so crispy and sweet, melting cheese and the hotdog at the end, needs to be try so you can enjoy the best of it.We also get the ube drink with boba.. made in house, beautiful purple color, is delicate and delicious. You need to go, there is a good amount of items in the menu, but, the hotdog go fast during the week, because high school kids take them all after school.
Zen Sushi and Gourmet Asian Cuisine

Yummy sushi place. We come here fairly often. My favorites are the spicy tuna crispy rice and the Heart Attack roll. Its not cheap, but I wouldnt say its overpriced either. Good sized portions of fish. I wish they had a little more diversity in their rolls. I love me some spicy tuna, but it seems that most of their rolls feature it in different ways. The only thing weve ever had an issue with is the eel. It can be hit or miss. When its good, its really good, but when its bad, well, not so much. Overall, though, we have friendly service. Its usually busy, but not packed. Weve tried 4 different sushi joints since we moved up here and Zen is our favorite so far.

Tasty orange chicken. Friendly staff. Large portions and reasonably, but oddly priced.Your typical Chinese takeout1, 2, or 3 item combos with chow mein or fried riceThe reason I said this place is oddly priced is because usually the more you buy, the cheaper the upgrades between levels become. However, between the 1 item and 2 item combo, the upgrade is $1 but the upgrade between the 2 item and the 3 item is $2. Not a deal breaker, just strange. They have chili oil and the OG sriracha sauce which was a major plus. For what it is, this place is great! It's hard to find a filling meal under $13 these days. I had a big appetite coming in and had some leftovers to spare after the 3 item combo.
House of Joy - La Crescenta

This place is very average to say the least. Being the only korean Chinese restaurant in La Crescenta, if you have any Korean Chinese food cravings, youre S.O.L. and only have this place to serve your cravings. Food is very pricey here, and very very average. Whenever I go and eat here and get the bill, I think to myself that Im never going back but I do when my craving kicks.... Hope someone opens another Korean Chinese restaurant soon in LC.
Angus Meat Market La Crescenta
3115 Foothill Blvd, La Crescenta-Montrose, CA 91214, United States
Great quality meat. Prices are better than what I’ve seen at the meat counters of the nearby Korean markets. The service was exceptional and the ahjussi owner was so kind. I felt like he went above and beyond in helping me. They even have brisket sauce that tastes like the sauces at Korean BBQ restaurants. If you are local and want to buy meat for homemade hot pot or Korean BBQ, I recommend shopping for your meat here.
