Sams Korean BBQ

American Chinese take out at fancy restaurant price. Should have walked out when the overwhelming odor of disinfectant hit me! My dish was $16, and 90% noodles! Nothing Korean about it!

You Grill Korean BBQ
79680 CA-111 STE 102, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
I went here on an awkward date and the coolness of the restaurant made things so much better! You cook a variety of Korean bbq on your own small grill which is fun and unique. Our server seemed enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the offerings and the place was pretty busy for a summer night. There are two different all inclusive menu options, we opted for the cheaper $20 since the more expensive items weren’t exceptionally different.I’d like to see more types of Kim Chee and traditional Korean condiments. I like seaweed salad a lot but was left thinking “white people did this” lol. Some a la carte Korean BBQ places have 3 x these offerings so a bit more as you sit down is my only suggestion for authenticity.Great, cool restaurant concept! Go here!

Misaki Sushi & Grill
46600 Washington St #1, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
We were from out of town and decided to try this place based on reviews. It was Friday evening, so of course we expected some waiting. They said 20-30 minutes, so, no problem! But while we waited they seated at least a whole page of customers after us. 50 minutes or more later? They supposedly had only one place for a party of 6 waiting for a party of 2 to leave, those persons “had paid their bill.”Honestly they could have asked us if we wanted to split our group or they could have worked something ( it's a big place with many tables) (we asked several times even suggesting we squeeze into a booth) finally they asked if we wanted to squeeze into the table they were holding all this time for us! (They we're hoping to expand our seating when another couple left next to us) It turned out there was plenty of room and that couple didn't leave until just before we were done! If they had been more on top of things, we wouldn't have had to wait more than about 15 minutes.About the food: My family is Japanese American so we eat a lot of Japanese food. For the most part, The food was fairly good, pretty typical with Bento boxes and sushi. They also have udon and some other dishes. We ordered a variety of items and the food was tasty and well prepared, a little pricey though. The rolls were fairly large and they had a huge variety: clearly their forte. One of our group had to ask three times for her beverage to be served and came when we were almost done. They were clearly under-staffed for the busy time and a better method for juggling larger groups and seating would have been appreciated. Had they handled our seating situation better and not charged my friend for her very late beverage, I would have given them another star.

Maru
78-702 CA-111, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
Veggie dumplings had meat. I told them specifically someone in my party was allergic to pork and they lied about them containing meat. The bulgogi was undercooked and cold. Didnt eat it at all. Told the waitress immediately after we tasted it. She never came back to the table. Even when we asked for the check. She refused to look over at us. Had to go to the counter to get the check when the 2nd waitress told us she wouldnt take the disgusting untouched item off our bill. But thankfully the only waitress left came over and handled it quickly. The 2nd woman berated her for doing it when she came back. (Confusing I know). This place is not good. The service is the worst except for the one waitress. The food is just mediocre. Dont waste your time here unless you dont care about what you put in your body. Left with a stomach ache.

Arnold Palmers Restaurant

EXCELLENT food! And the Arnold Palmer drink was the best Ive ever had! Well... they better be! After all... duh! ?From the start, my friend and I decided we wanted to try something different. So... the bacon wrapped dates is what we went for. Neither of us have ever had them before. They were unbelievably good! A delightful taste sensation! Then we both ordered the filet mignon. They were prepared to perfection, and were very tasty and juicy! But... if youre going to get this dish, be sure you ask for the garlic mashed potatoes and not the petite oven potatoes. My buddy only got 6 tiny potatoes the size of a nickel. I got a whole bowl of garlic mashed potatoes.Also... Be sure you ask for the chimichurri sauce to go with the steak. It was extremely tasty and a perfect combination. It paired perfectly with the steak. The small arugula salad that came with the dish would make a rabbit cry asking for more. Honestly, it was more of an afterthought than a salad.Anyway, the main course (the steak) was very good! Then we move on to the dessert...We had espressos with a little lemon twist, which Ive never had before, and it was very good. I suggest you try it.We decided to have the sorbet, which was mango and raspberry.Absolutely delicious and very refreshing. We also got some carrot cake to go and it looks amazing. I cant wait to try it.If youre in this area, I highly recommend this restaurant. The only disappointing factor was, the hostess actually recommended more things on the menu than our server did.We were very disappointed with the service.Im not sure if they had a server call out sick tonight, because our server rarely came by our table. She came by right after they dropped off the steaks, like within one minute, and asked us how they were. We had not even taken a bite yet. She could have just looked down at our table and seen that. Then she short changed me because I paid with cash. Not sure if it was a misunderstanding or done deliberately, but it left a very poor taste in my mouth. So, everything about this place was excellent, its just that the service was very lacking. We were seated in the bar. Maybe thats a place to avoid. We had to ask several times for more drink, and additional items that were needed to go along with the meal. But I do HIGHLY recommend this place. The End!RIP Arnold Palmer! You are the man! ⛳ ?️‍♂️

PGA WEST Greg Norman Golf Course
81-405 Kingston Heath, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
Our day started out amazing! The check in process easy as can be. The woman at the pro shop friendly and helpful. The course is well maintained and water stations come in clutch with summer heat. When it comes to golf PGA WEST Greg Norman Golf Course delivers. Unfortunately though the clubhouse restaurant WALLABYS I can honestly say ruined my parties day. My party went to the restaurant to have a drink to cheers to our fun afternoon. Myself and friend entered the restaurant first and sat down at the table closes to the bar. The server Isaac came to our table and asked how can I help you. We informed him that we were waiting on two more gentlemen who were in the men's rooms and we would be placing our order once they enter restaurant. We informed him we were not going to be ordering food but just a drink. He rolled his eyes and attended to other tables. Once the other two entered the restaurant and sat down we waved to the server and made eye contact. The server walked by us to other table. We tried to wave him over again and stated we were ready when he walked by back to the bar and kept walking. We tried to wave him down again for a third stating sir we are ready. Server Isaac kept walking to other table and I personally said to my group he is probably busy but he will come to our table right after. Isaac had just finished with table and started to walk back to the bar when two of raised our hand to get his attention and at this point it was apparent he was ignoring us. In frustration, we all stood up and walked out and I turned back to see server Isaac laughing at us. It was apparent this was done on purpose. Sadly that is when we all noticed we were the only Latinos and Asian in the restaurant. All other parties were white complexion. We walked into pro shop after leaving the restaurant and the women at the counter who was amazing informed the restaurant supervisor Araceli. I informed her of what happen and she stated that Isaac was fairly new if we were to comeback she would comp our drink. I told her thank you but to drive more than 2 hrs and all four of us being super excited to visit PGA WEST for the first time to end our experience like this we might never be come back. It sad that this experience will probably keep us from coming back. I hope PGA WEST can address this so others who visit do get a feeling of not being welcomed.

Tuscanos & BrewQuinta
78772 CA-111, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
Im giving this a 2 star review strictly because the food is pretty good and the service/seating situation on the other hand is pretty bad. Ive been here on 3 different occasions and the service has been pretty mediocre each time. The first time my party of 4 (which was directed to the bar area to be seated) ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 pizzas and salads...the salads never showed up and the sandwiches were last, about 10 minutes after the pizzas, and one of them was completely wrong. We couldnt find anyone to flag down to replace the sandwich, so one of us got up and went to the kitchen to find someone. The second time here it was just 2 of us. We were so confused when we sat down in what apparently is the go order and seat yourself area. When we went to the counter, were told to order there. The girl who took our order is the bartender and she was great. You get breadsticks with your order, but they came toward the end, rather than before the main meal. 2 sandwiches were ordered and took about 20 min to get them. This last time we came, we sat in the bar, which is the be waited on area. The same bartender helped us, but she seemed overwhelmed. 2 of us again, ordered wings, a salad and sandwich. The wings came first, then the salad, then the sandwich about 10+ minutes later. We were done with our meal when the bread showed up. Then twice the server took my plate and then starting throwing silverware into the bread basket, assuming we were done. This place really has an identity crisis..is it seat yourself and counter order, or is it sit down and be served? They need to get their food service in order so that it is drinks, bread, salads, main dishes. And make them properly so that half the group isnt finishing their food before the rest gets their food. Also, never once in any of our visits were we offered refills on our drinks. There are random staff walking around at times, but it seems the bartender is running a one-woman show. Very disappointing for a place that has a lot of potential.

Sams Sushi
79485 CA-111 #5, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
Today I decided to order takeout from SAMs sushi in la Quinta which had always been one of my favorite places to eat in the valley. I called in and ordered and my husband picked the food up. Our total was close to $60 which for sushi is a great deal! When we started to open the food we realized they had forgotten all of our sides of rice and gave us two orders of shrimp tempura rather than the mixed tempura we had ordered. Which was an extra up charge. Since we live 20 mins away and it is over 110 degrees outside I decided to call them and let them know about the issues. I spoke with a female manager who was sweet as can be and she told me that she would talk to her boss and call me right back to let me know what they could do to make things right. I waited 45 mins and still had not received a phone call back. In the mean time we began to eat our meal which was for the first time ever awful! Besides the missing food the beef teriyaki was dry, the edemame didnt have any salt or flavor, the eel nigiri was full of bones and missing the eel sauce, and the sushi was chewy making most of our meal completely inedible. I have never been one to send food back or ask for compensation but this was pretty terrible. I called them back again and asked to speak directly to the owner I was told he was very busy and I said I had no problem waiting on hold until he had time to speak with me. After a short hold he came on the line and as I began to explain the above information he laughed at me and was so rude cutting me off before I had a chance to explain everything he shouted $25 store credit for next time thats it Im too busy for this laughed again and hung up on me. I didnt expect or try to get a free meal but I did expect to be refunded for the food that was wrong inedible and missing which I didnt think was asking too much. I am so disappointed at how disrespectful the owner was and how terrible the food came out. That is the last time I will ever go there again they can keep the $25. I guess thats why the sister store couldnt keep its doors open... Well that and the roaches.
