If you dont want to read the whole review heres a summary:-very curt, unwelcoming hostess-decent food that is overpriced-nice atmosphereMy family and I ate here around 2pm on a Saturday. It wasn't busy and we paid $50.25 for four people. As soon as we walked through the door, the hostess stared at us with such distaste that I immediately felt unwelcomed. As she assisted us never once did she smile and she treated other customers similarly, even at the register when we paid for our meals. As a past food service worker I understand that employees may have rough days and they can be too exhausted to smile, but as a hostess tasked with welcoming so many customers into the restaurant, I expected her to be more friendly. She gave us the impression that she did not want to be there and that she didn't care about the guests she was seating. The other waitress didn't smile either but she at least nodded in response when we said “thank you” instead of look away and almost roll her eyes like the hostess did.I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant! Its cozy and there was no intrusive music/background noise. I appreciate this because I could talk to my family. One of the chopsticks provided to us had a waxy, spider-web-like white substance twined around it. It looked like melted plastic or wax and it was on the end of the chopstick meant to pick up food. This flaw was very clearly visible on the darkly-colored utensil and yet the eating hazard was still given to us to use.The dishes were served in filling portions and we were served very quickly. My dad loved his tripe pho! The beef and meatball pho tasted okay but it had a fishy aftertaste. They included bean sprouts already in the soup so the customer can't choose to add or omit it. I say this because the menu doesn't mention that bean sprouts are served already in the soup rather than on a separate dish as other restaurants do, so we didn't know to tell them “no”. The egg noodles are salty but delicious. The beef chow fun was a huge disappointment. Here it costs $12.50 but I have had better beef chow fun for $8.00 elsewhere. Mi's chow fun is strangely slimy and shiny (yes gravy can make it wet but Mi's is a cheap takeout quality slimy). The flavor isn't as good as others I've tasted and as the food cooled down it tasted more and more unappealing. Overall the average-quality food was overpriced and I love the comfortable atmosphere, but the staff was rude enough to drop an average 3-star rating to a 2. I note that the owners of the restaurant read these reviews and a past review mentioned rude staff too, but with my experience today maybe they haven't become any less impolite.

The food was okay but not great. The place was kind of empty so there was lots of seating to choose from. We ordered the pho and a plate of grilled pork chop with fried egg. The flavors were good and it was just enough food for us all. I would have to complain a bit though at how gross the tableware was. It seemed like theyre was a film of sticky/greasy filth on everything. Even wiping them with a napkin didnt help. The nastiest bit was touching the handle of the knife to cut up my pork chop. It was really nasty to the point I had to use a napkin to hold the handle. Yuck. Aside from the cleanliness, I would day the food was good if you are craving vietnamese food and you are also shopping in the mall. By the way. There arent many shops left in the mall. Guess the rent is too high.Update 1/1/2023. Came back here with the family to eat some vietnamese food. The family ordered the usual Pho, but I decided to try something new. I ordered the BBQ pork & Shrimp vermicelli and it was pretty delicious with the sauce mixed that came with it. The noodles were just right (not too hard and not too soft) it had a good bite to it. The pork and shrimp were well seasoned, but the shrimp were on the small side. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy and overall the food was really good.

The interior of the shop has a strong Mongolian atmosphere, and the waiters are very warm and hospitable. They provide complimentary salty milk, which I tried for the first time and found the taste quite intriguing. The portions of the food are very generous. I ordered the lamb momo and fried noodles. The momo had a rich amount of meat and a strong lamb flavor, making it feel like being on the vast grasslands. Additionally, they offer a very spicy dipping sauce that pairs perfectly with the fried noodles and momo. Moreover, the prices are very reasonable.
Sala Thai

It really saddens me that this place has gone completely downhill for us. Once upon a time this was our favorite spot but after this weekend we will no longer eat here. The portions were never great (but the food was ALWAYS great) and now the portions are even smaller. In the past when I ordered BBQ beef spareribs thats what I got (succulent slabs of beef ribs) but yesterday I received slices of hard meat that I had to give to our dog. Some pieces were so hard that the dog didnt eat them. The BBQ meat came with a salad and rice like a lunch plate or something. The chicken Larb I ordered came as a half order and with a salad the same size as the Larb. Larb is a salad so why an extra salad on the side? Also, it was extremely hot. If I did not ask for it to taste like it came from the pits of hell. then it should not have been flavored with super hot peppers. Mind you I love hot food but this was inedible for my guests. The spring rolls were barely cooked they were not golden brown nor crispy, plus I was missing. The Pad Thai was extremely dry and flavorless. The Panang Curry which I always get ala carte was good but I was given it over rice which is a half portion (however I was charged for a full portion). The angel wings were good as usual but they failed to cut them into three portions as they always had in the past. Its kinda hard eating a whole stuffed chicken wing. I spent $100 for one of the worst meals that I have had to experience on a Fathers Day of all days. In addition to that I had to spend on more food from another establishment because the portions sizes have been drastically cut.My wife is a chef so I understand that food prices have risen dramatically but instead of shorting your customers maybe just increase your prices. No one wants to be charged full price for a obvious lunch plate as I was charged yesterday. Again, its a sad day because I can no longer spend another dime after that horrible experience.
Special Noodle
3288 Pierce St C136, Richmond, CA 94804, United States
I often need to travel at least 1 hour to go to my favorite dumpling places. So when this place opens in my neighborhood I am super pumped!I know they are called Special noodles. I think their noodles are alright, but their dumplings are excellent! Been there several times. I always order the soup dumpling and the pan fry pork buns. Honestly I usually double my order! The soup dumpling is juicy, with lots of soup inside, which requires special chopsticks skill to pick it up, definitely not forks! The wrapping is not thick and starchy at all. Super hot (in temperature) when it just comes out so be careful not to burn your lips. The pan fry pork buns is crispy at the bottom and soft on the top, and juicy inside, yum! There’s also burning hot soup inside the bun so watch out. It’s inside a shopping mall so free parking is not a problem. Plenty of tables too so no need to wait in lines.
White Elephant Asian Kitchen

We are very confused with the high/positive ratings of this restaurant. We ordered the Thai basil with beef and yellow curry with chicken. The beef was ground up; the green beans in the dish were chopped into tiny pieces and the meal was not a desirable texture. The flavor was diluted and spice levels were not met at all (we ordered 7-8 spice level for both dishes). The yellow curry was extremely diluted and tasted like water; very little chicken provided. Jasmine rice was mush and awful in texture. Didnt finish both meals as they were awful. The restaurant is also a little more expensive than its competitors, although the food at the competitors taste much better. Would not recommend if you enjoy and appreciate real/authentic Thai food.UPDATE: in response to the owners response, I have actually been to Thailand and know what good Thai food tastes like. The food (both dishes) lacked flavor/tasted diluted, which were the main disappointments as addressed in the original review. It appears as though the owner cant take constructive criticism, which is a shame as this feedback should help business owners improve their products. We are Asian and our taste buds are different; so again, we are very familiar with authentic Thai food. Thank you.
Little Louies Caf & Catering
49 Washington Ave, Richmond, CA 94801, United States
This is not MacDonalds. Three of us went there for lunch. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and a cheeseburger. After waiting for about 35 minutes the server comes out with 3 sandwiches that belonged to someone else. Soon after, the server came out to ask what was our order and goes back to the kitchen. Approximately 5 minutes later he came back with two sandwiches. The three of us continued talking while we waited for the cheeseburger so we could have lunch together. As the waiter went by, we called him and ask him about the cheeseburger. He replied I am just the server... that is not my department. He goes back into the kitchen and a minute later the lady at the grill said out loud, This is not MacDonalds. Go to MacDonalds. After an extensive conversation with the manager, we departed the place without finishing our lunch. This has to be one, if not the, most outrageous comments from someone serving their customers. From the time we order until the cheeseburger came out it was about 45 to 50 minutes. You are right... this is not MacDonalds but your customer service is worse than MacDonalds. Goodbye Little Louies.
Sichuan Fusion
3288 Pierce St Ste B-109, Richmond, CA 94804, United States
Super fun lunch with a friend who introduced me to this restaurant in the Ranch 99 complex. We shared the salt and pepper tofu, Sichuan style twice cooked pork bacon, spicy garlic eggplant, crispy noodle chicken and pan fried chive turnover.Everything was super fresh and steaming hot. The tofu fried to perfection and soft & silky inside. We agreed to try item we had never had before and the twice cooked pork bacon and crispy noodle chicken were two of those items. The pork was very flavorful with the perfect heat level, and the crispy noodles under the layer of delicious chicken, mushrooms and fresh Vegis lent the perfect texture. The chive turnover was a fun dish. Our server, and everyone at the was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back. Two things to know, parking can be a challenge as it is a busy area (there are multiple restaurants and shops in the complex, plus Ranch 99) and if you pay in cash, you get a free mini ice cream.
99 Cents Only Stores
300 Richmond St, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
I should have given the store a 5 star rating . It was a person who was not in the right mind set that was bothering me more like yelling at the poor check out girl at check stand one . The person kept popping her head back in yelling you should be worried about the Russians then something else would pop in her head she would come back she was flipping off the cameras .The girl at check stand was all alone she deserves a metal for putting up with that verbal abuse .The check out girl kept on getting customers taken care of and out of the store. I sat in my handicapped spot making sure the cashier didnt get hurt.(I was going to call the police) I enjoy your store it is clean and full of new items.I believe check stand one hero needs employee of the month a raise or praise on how well she did her job on that terrible day.
Anh Restaurant & Bar
1950 Esplanade Dr, Richmond, CA 94804, United States
I am writing this review not due to the food quality of the restaurant but their behavior of profiling my son who was there to get dinner on evening of 4/22. So this is how it goes . My Son who is 28 year old walks in the restaurant and waits for a table to be seated . Once he is seated, he gets really weird look from the staff . He has no idea that why he is getting this looks from the staff. Then one of the waitresses just walks over to him and questions him in front of everyone if his name is Ahmed and he did not pay his bill when he was at the restaurant the previous night . My Son was really taken back and was in disbelief due to this gesture of accusation . He tells them that his name is not Ahmed and he was not there yesterday at all. The waitress refuses to not belief him till he pulls out his Drivers License and Business card to prove that he is not that person ( Ahmed). After he proves he is not that person the waitress just walks away without any apology. Really.... At this point my Son was very upset and asked to speak with the manager. The manager comes out and says that he is sorry about this and offers him a free drink. How would a free drink rectify the humiliation he just went through by one of their very incompetent and possibly racial staff. Did he get treated like this because he was wearing Jeans and Hoody. The waitress was a white female and my Son looks like Black/Pacific Islander male. What shall we deduce from such am appalling behavior from the Restaurant staff.
