AOI Teriyaki & Ramen

Best ramen in East Bay! I ironically found this place when feeling sorry for myself that I moved away from Oakland where my old favorite ramen place is. I did a quick search to see what was in San Leandro and saw there was a new ramen place, and I'm so glad I tried it out, as it is my new favorite! The quality, quantity, and freshness of the food you will not find at this price anywhere else, as the owner does everything himself, so he can put his money into quality ingredients instead of hired help. This is some serious, no nonsense ramen. (The owner has that demeanor as well!) I come here by myself as part of my self care routine so I can really focus on the food and eat each delicious bite mindfully. It reminds me of the ramen I ate in Tokyo when I visited. This isn't a place you will get fancy ambiance, but if you just want good food, it's definitely worth checking out and making a staple for when you get those ramen cravings! Very thankful to have authentic ramen in San Leandro.
Banju Bay

Easily one of the top 3 best restaurants in San Leandro, if youre into a foodie type of scene and want a real culinary experience. Their dishes are creative, tasty, and ingredients are super fresh. Ive tried about half their menu already and am super excited to try the rest. Happy hour deals are a steal - $8 cocktails during happy hour (4-7pm M-F), and these are legit craft cocktails. Best old fashioned ever, made w/ Japanese Whiskey! They even did a custom cocktail for me with mezcal, and it was perfectly balanced. The service is also super warm and friendly, making it a very inviting place to be. We bring our baby there, and they are so sweet to her. They provide high chairs. She loves eating the free edamame they serve as appetizer! Nothing but positive vibes over at Banju Bay. Definitely check it out!
Koolfi Creamery

Koolfi Creamery is an absolute gem tucked away in the city of San Leandro, offering an unforgettable experience for ice cream enthusiasts seeking a taste of India. With their incredible Indian-inspired kulfi ice creams, this charming creamery has truly won my heart. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine passion for their craft. One of the most captivating aspects of Koolfi Creamery is their selection of flavors. Each scoop is a delightful surprise, boasting a unique combination of spices, textures, and aromas that take your taste buds on an exotic journey. The flavors they offer are a testament to their creativity, with a range that is both rich and complex. They take great pride in their business and are always eager to share their knowledge about the flavors and cultural influences behind each creation. Their genuine enthusiasm is infectious, and it adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the already fantastic experience. One of my favorite offerings at Koolfi Creamery is their gulab jamun sundae. This indulgent treat combines the creamerys luscious ice cream with warm, fried balls of dough soaked in sweet syrup, topped with pistachios and delicate rose petals. The combination of flavors and textures is simply divine, creating a dessert experience unlike any other. Its a must-try for anyone looking to embark on a sweet and aromatic adventure. For those seeking a variety of flavors, I highly recommend the ice cream flight. This allows you to select five flavors of your choice, enabling you to sample a diverse range of kulfi creations. Whether you opt for traditional favorites or more daring concoctions, the flight is an excellent way to discover new favorites and appreciate the artistry behind Koolfi Creamerys offerings. To top it all off, Koolfi Creamery also offers pint-sized containers of their delightful ice creams, allowing you to bring the flavors home and extend the enjoyment beyond your visit. Sl Kitchen
1057 MacArthur Blvd, San Leandro, CA 94577, United States
We had a really odd experience here. The khao piak sen - chicken was tasteless like water, the cook maybe forgot ingredients and forgot to taste the broth before it went out. It had absolutely no flavor, and we specifically came here to order that. The Kasoy looked delicious but was also really subtle in flavor for the broth. The ingredients seemed fresh. Weve had home cooked Mien and Lao food a lot, and we were sad that our entrees had almost no flavor. We were surprised because the sampler platter of appetizers had good flavor. The money bags and egg rolls were delicious and super crunchy! We really loved the papaya salad, which was fishy, salty, and spicy! The service was good, but we were so confused and conflicted by the food that looked authentic but instead was very disappointing.
Midas

I went there for oil change, and it was fast because there were not many customers there. But they put the wrong radiator coolant in my car, the original coolant was blue, and they put yellow coolant in there. Now I have been told that the coolant is dirty and doesnt work well and it will cost 100 bucks to flush the coolant at a car shop. I will never come back to this place again.
Red Pepper Pizza

Hi, I was introduced to this pizza place by a friend and I thought it was just another pizza restaurant started up by some one who came here from another country looking for the American Dream that every one is after ...But from the very first time that I sat down to eat there has been a very good experience to me.I am not kidding when I tell you that was the best tasting pizza I have ever had in my life..I dont what spices they put in there but It felt as if I were in Italy or some where like that it was so good. The cooks really do an amazing job especially that one cook who just recently passed away he was just a very nice guy who cared about you and he had a heart of Gold I will miss him and Im sure every else there will too. But if youre in the neighbor hood stop by and say hi to those nice people over there. And tell them to make you ah pizza that ah makes you feel like ah you ah over there in ah Italy huh...R.R. in ah San Lorenzo Calif.
Saigon House Restaurant
15001 Farnsworth St, San Leandro, CA 94579, United States
I recently tried out Saigon House and really enjoyed my meal. The seating outside seemed nicely covered and cool, while the interior has a lot of personality from its classic all wood counter to the many plants hanging around the windows and sills. The service was prompt and friendly. The owners seem to generally be taking orders or hanging around and are friendly, funny and talkative. I found that to make for a good dining experience personally as it added to the local, mom/ pop vibe present at this restaurant. We ordered a spread of food- the pho is really good. The brother is on the lighter side and not overly savory/ aromatic with a slight sweetness, so if that fits your palette, I believe you would enjoy it. The herbs and added items were generous and I got a good amount of meat in the bowl too. The bun bo hue was equally delicious, with a good flavor though did not have the trotter or pork blood which I always love to see as an add-in. The Korean BBQ Garlic Noodles surprised me and so I had to give them a try- the meat was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the noodles were good, albeit slightly dried out over the course of our meal. The Vietnamese coffee here is really great, and the banh mi was also delicious and had a nice sweetness to them.Overall, I loved eating here from the atmosphere and service to the pretty solid meal too. If you are thinking of trying out this place, I would recommend doing so.
Minami Sushi
699 Lewelling Blvd Suite 142, San Leandro, CA 94579, United States
Amazing space with the best service and people! It looked dark when we arrived the first time - I am so glad we went and checked the door, because yes, they ARE open, it just looks dark because of the window tinting! Took our 8 year old, because she LOVES sushi - they brought her several extras, because kid - edamame, some soup, a special taste of a new sushi she hadnt tried before - all at no charge! That was over a year ago, and go regularly now, and she always gets at least one special treat on the house when we eat in. Its really kind of them, and I really appreciate having a space that makes kid-dining SPECIAL. Theyve got a long range view - theyre creating a customer for LIFE! Id highly recommend for families.(This is super important for me, as I personally dont like sushi at ALL, but kiddo wanted to try, so we did. They really sold her on it, so again, this non-sushi person is a regular here now, and that is because they helped me create / get a sushi loving kid! She eats EVERYTHING on the menu, and I get the chicken. She flinches at any new food, but because they presented it right, didnt flinch at eating eel, and now specifically asks for it! Same with squid and several other obscure ingredients. Major cheers for expanding her palate!)
