Noodle World Jr
2440 W Arrow Route, Upland, CA 91786, United States
Besides theB rating and no customers inside, we decided to eat there anyway. My friend had Pad See Ew and said the meat tasted funny. Ate about 5 bites and threw it out. I had Pad Thai without shrimp and it tasted like the shrimp had been picked out. It was very bland and the noodles were mooshy. If not for the decent array of sauces and salt, I wouldnt have eaten my food either. My food came out a good 5 minutes after my friends and his food not hot. I havent eaten here before so I cant say if this is the norm but, unfortunately I have had better and at a more reasonable price. I dont think I will go back.

Secret Sauce
903 W Foothill Blvd Suit B, Upland, CA 91786, United States
My friends and I stumbled upon this unassuming restaurant after a quick Yelp search for an Asian spot nearby and decided to give it a try. The place was relatively small but clean, and we were warmly welcomed by the lovely lady at the front. She was extremely helpful and friendly when we mentioned it was our first time there, giving us a rundown on how to order. You could choose to build your own plate for only $14 or select from their extensive sides menu. There were also pre-designed dishes like the chicken katsu bowl and shrimp tempura udon. My friends and I all decided to create our own plates, and the kind lady let us know we could sample other sauces or switch out our choice if we didn't like it.For my plate, I chose a white rice base with chicken katsu and basil sauce (based on her recommendation, as the basil and Japanese curry were her favorites). For sides, I selected macaroni salad and house salad. The plate also came with a complimentary miso soup, which was served first. Additionally, there was a complimentary water jug at the front, making it easy for anyone to grab a sip of water. The food didn't take too long to come out, and we were all delighted with the presentation and large portion sizes. We were given mini samples of all the different sauces, making the experience even more fun and memorable.I loved how perfectly crispy my chicken katsu was; it was fried to perfection and well-seasoned, delicious with every sauce. The basil sauce had an herby umami flavor with a hint of spice that complemented the chicken perfectly. The house salad was simple and balanced, and while I don't know the dressing that came with it, it was still tasty. Overall, I would 100% recommend coming to Secret Sauce—everything is made fresh to order, and the staff is absolutely the sweetest!
KEDAI Indonesian Cafe
110 S Mountain Ave, Upland, CA 91786, United States
I drove by this place a couple times and was excited that a new Indonesian place was opening up. Its a really nice and cozy cafe that serves old school pastries, the kind I would eat in my childhood. When I moved to the States, you cant really find those pastel, kroket, risoles, or lemper, not many restaurant sells them, or even makes them from scratch. So when I saw all these pastries, I went crazy and I knew this place would fill the missing parts of my immigrant life here. I would say this is one of the only place that would bring back all those nostalgic memories before moving to LA and I would drive 1 hour just to get that fresh, made from scratch pastries. I havent found any other Indonesian cafe that would bring back all my happy childhood memories of hanging out with my friends at a cafe, eating pastels & risoles with chili and sambal (the real one, not that fake wannabe bullcrap from HuyFong). Oh and the coffee? Stop going to Starbucks that serves fake coffee using Indonesian island as their name, youre better off going to the real place that serves the real, authentic, imported Indonesian coffee for the same price. If you have a doubt about this, my last name is Indonesian as hell, I grew up there, and I approve this as one of the most ethnic & authentic cafe.**Fast forward to now, . Kedai is still very special to me. I just came back from Indonesia, had the pastries (pastels, risoles) back home but lets not fool around. Kedais pastries still taste waaaay better. First of all, 1 pastel in Indonesia is now about $2.50. You Indonesians who think its still cheaper to eat in Jakarta can suck on deez. Second of all, the pastels here are about twice the size, so youre already getting a good deal. Lastly, the pastries here (especially pastel) have more flavor than the ones in Indonesia. You can taste the difference in quality. You 90s Jakarta people surely know what Indonesian pastries are supposed to taste like. Id rather get Kedais pastries, and Id be more than happy to pay $5 for the taste Kedai has to offer. Kedais recipe is still the classic, the ones I grew up with, and will always be very special to me.In the pictures are pastel, risoles, choco banana roll, and Dutch roll, with ice americano and pandan latte.
Claros Italian Markets
1655 N Mountain Ave, Upland, CA 91784, United States
I have shopped at Claros Market with my mom, since I was 10 years old… That was 60 years ago. Every year, we have returned for the holidays to purchase authentic Italian gourmet items. It was always such a pleasure to visit their location, in San Gabriel and then in Upland. The last couple of times I've been there, it had changed. You could always call your order in ahead of time, long before food delivery was popular. During the holiday season they are super busy, so it was nice to call the order in ahead of time and pick up. During Covid, I was afraid to shop there because it's not a big store. It's family-owned. So a week ahead of time, I called in, to place my order and I talked to an older woman. I'm sure I know who it is and she was not pleasant. I am handicapped… However I didn't mention that to her. When I said I wanted to place an order, she made it sound like they couldn't do that and told me I should come in on Friday at 2 o'clock and just stand in line. #1, I'm 70 years old. #2, it's a small store during Covid. #3, I'm handicapped and every grocery store that I purchase from, has curbside pick up or something like that. I went away frustrated. Then a day or two later, I called back and got a different person and was able to place my order, after convincing her that it was not a good idea for me to be in the store with an auto immune disease. She took my credit card but they were out of items that they normally carry. I still went ahead and placed the order for curb side pick up. I called ahead to be sure that my order was ready to go. They said it was and I drove over to pick it up. When I got there, I started to explain that I was in the parking lot and wanted to pick up my order but didn't know their procedure. I didn't know if I was supposed to go in the store or wait out in my car. The person I talked to did not even let me finish my sentence, and cut me off. I finally was able to tell her that I was outside in the parking lot waiting. She put me on hold to go check on my order and they couldn't find it. I told her, it's there because I just called and I had already paid for it. Then that same older lady I talked to before, came back to the phone and said that the order had not been paid for”.She was abrupt and abrasive. I explained I gave the credit card to the person who took the order. Her reply was “it had not been paid for so I had to give the credit card all over again. They did find my order but the experience was not pleasant at all, from beginning to end. I love this store and the memories that my family has shared because of Claros market, so this experience saddened me. Covid does not give any business the right to be rude to people. We are all suffering. Kindness goes a long way. I wished them Hsppy Holidays and left
Padua Pasta Makers
300 E Arrow Hwy, Upland, CA 91786, United States
I WILL NEVER GIVE MY BUSINESS TO PADUA EVER AGAIN! I live in a historic home walking distance from Padua and have been a customer since I moved here in 2019. The food is convenient because of walking distance but not above average in any way. Either way, I like to support small businesses and love being part of the downtown Upland area. I went in today with my husband and two young children. I placed an order for 3 sandwiches and some deli stuff. I ordered a sandwich that I have ordered since March 2019 that has added goat cheese. When I gave the woman (THE OWNER) my order she paused and loudly and rudely said, goat cheese!? as she huffed. I said yes, I always order this sandwich and she asked if it was a lot added. I said no just a layer to which she paused, smirked and shook her head. I asked if there was a problem and she said I have to charge you extra, I said ok and she said she would ask her girls how they charge me. I walked away feeling judged and upset about the exchange, even my 12 year old commented on the rudeness. While we were browsing and waiting for our order my husband noticed THE OWNER staring and pointing at me with 2 of her employees. My husband walked over and politely and quietly asked if there was a problem. The owner yelled back that yes there was a problem and none of her girls ever made my sandwich that way and she has to weigh the goat cheese. I heard this from across the store and walked up to the counter, put my ticket down and said I would like to cancel my order since it was such a problem. A young girl (who has made my problem sandwich several times before) asked if I was sure to which I responded, yes and that I could not believe how rude that woman is to customers! I have spent $$$$ on food, cards, or decor here since 2019. It is absolutely despicable the way my family were treated today. There is no response this business will surely try to give to excuse being yelled at for an order request. If it was an issue THE OWNER should have declined to make the substitute in a civilized way. I will pass on this knowledge to friends and family dining in the area. Disgusting!!!
Viva Vegan Diner
1490 E Foothill Blvd Suite D, Upland, CA 91786, United States
I really want to give them 5 stars. The first visit, the food was off the charts. The taco plate was delish. Food was hot and youd never guess it was plant based. HOWEVER, the dining room was dirty. Food on the floor, dirty tables and it does take a while for the food to come out.The second visit, dining room was still dirty. Floor needs moping and tables cleaned. Food was good but only warm to the touch.Third visit, floor still has food on the floor although the tables seemed a little cleaner. This time, I found a hair in my tacos. I notice no one wears hair nets. They gave me a new plate and it was good.Forth visit, I saw hair nets being warn and the food was warm.Fifth visit, no hair nets, tacos were warm but the rice and beans were cold. Not even warm. This time the tacos were spicier than last time. I thought it was required that food was supposed to be at a certain temperature...Bottom line, if their food was HOT and consistent in taste, Id be here more often. Of course, a clean atmosphere would be nice. They also need more drink options. But for these kind of problems, they are expensive to be serving cold food. Im super bummed because I wanted to give them 5 stars.

Lunch at Jauncho-s was outstanding. Delicious guacamole and chops appetizer with an entre of combo of enchiladas rancheras, beef taco, rice and beans and salsa. My lunch companion had a huge burrito carnitas that he said was delicious and he could only finish half of. Service was excellent.

Kuma Sushi
1905 N Campus Ave # C, Upland, CA 91784, United States
My wife and I have been going to this restaurant for over ten years now. Food has always been good but the service just keeps getting worse and worse. Main problem, our Food has rarely brought out together.Tonight was the final straw. My wife was basically done with her food by the time I got mine. My food for some reason took like a half hour tonight, which it never has before. So I ask our waitress,”Excuse me, I ordered my food like a half hour ago. Could you tell me how much longer please?”She could have just said,”I am so sorry! Let me just go back to the kitchen and see.”Instead, she said (paraphrasing), “I don't know. I'm not in the kitchen cooking your food, am I.”Wife n I were shocked. It was almost comical how rude her response was. It was like we were on some hidden camera show. Our server was the thin Asian young lady that other reviewers have specifically complained about. Not sure why she bothers to work there with an attitude like that.Suffice to say, our last time eating there.
Thai Family Sisters Restaurant
130 S Mountain Ave # P, Upland, CA 91786, United States
Well, I was sitting in my car thinking about food so I pulled up my maps and searched, and I decided upon Thai food, I decided based upon the photos of the sea food selection. So I made the short drive and found parking. Upon entering the restaurant, the ambiance was perfect, the music was excellent and I was greeted with a very Geourgeous Woman whos smile and aura was so bright. I felt relaxed. I was seated immiadetly. Tori was so attentive and respectful and checked on me multiple times during my eating. Her Family raised her with mannerisms. Respects. Her personality had me smiling and laughing, and giggling, im so appreciative. The food was prepared very fast, hot, fresh, and oh so tasty! The iced Vietnamese coffee was soooooo good!!! I fully enjoyed deciding on your Family owned restaurant. I ordered the Shrimp Temporah as an appetizer, and the Teriyaki Salmon for dinner. The food was so scrumptious!!!!! I delightfully enjoyed every sip and bite. And the desert, the Mango with Sticky Rice, was heavenly. I just finished the rest of the Mango right now. I thank you for everything. I highly recomend your restaurant not only for the food, for the service, the mannerisms for the smiles and laughs, for everything, oh and the restaurant was very clean. Kudos 10/10. Shoutouts to the Family and the cooks and especially Tori, they all deserve a raise and promotion. One Love and Respects. Bless Up.
