PHO Vallejo Noodle House
908 Admiral Callaghan Ln, Vallejo, CA 94591, United States
Was craving Bún Bò Huế and wanted a quieter atmosphere than my usual soup ? spot. Staff was pleasant when taking my order and bringing my food. Once you have all your food and drink, it's as if you no longer exist. It's the typical soup house attitude. Would have been nice to have my teapot refilled. The chicken wings were decent. Not overly breaded, which I prefer.Bún Bò Huế broth was on point, perfect amount of noodles, but a little skimpy with the rest of the ingredients and was missing the traditional cubed pork blood. The side plate of fresh vegetables contained only bean sprouts (traditional) and cilantro (not traditional). No Thai basil, mint, or banana flower of any kind. Oddly enough that was the most disappointing aspect of the meal for me. One of the things I love about my culture's food are the wonderful fresh vegetables served with our dishes.

VIET PHO RESTAURANT

Hubby & I were curious how 52 people before us gave this new restaurant 5 stars, and after dining here, Im happy to be giving the 53rd 5⭐ rating! For starters, I loved the menu: it is straight to the point with pretty much all of the classic dishes one would expect to see at a phở restaurant, without extra visual noise. The owner, running the joint by himself, impressively serviced multiple orders for pick-up, another table, and us, all the while being professional, personable, and speedy. Since this was our first time here, hubby & I decided to order the main item on the menu: the special phở. Even before the first bite, as I inhaled the aromas of my bowl, I could tell this was going to be good. And was it good! The broth was quality, with body, a hint of creaminess, and FLAVOR. And the bowl was well presented with a very decent amount of beef atop the phở noodles. This was a perfect spot to drop in on this cold, rainy day. Our tastebuds are happy & our tummies are satisfied! ?

Korean Fried Chicken & Box
3624 Sonoma Blvd, Vallejo, CA 94590, United States
Food was fresh, tasty and best of all not oily.. chicken was cooked perfect... Moist and lots of flavor! Service was friendly and welcoming. So happy to have a Korean place so close to home, cant wait to come back and try the other dishes ?We dined in for lunch on Easter Sunday. They have tables for sitting down but it seems the majority of orders are to-go. Because of this they were able to accommodate our party of 6 right away. Dine-in service was served in to-go containers but we didnt have a problem with it. If we had leftovers it was already packaged, but we didnt have leftovers ?Pardon my pics. I had hungry people at the table and they dug in right away before I remembered to take pics of the food ? if the pics come up in the order of posting:- menu- soft tofu soup (meat)- japchae- seafood pancake- fried dumplings- magic sprinkle half order (my personal fave)- soy garlic half order

Jw & L Market
702 Vallejo St., San Francisco, CA 94133, United States
Shopping here is a more friendlier experience as it's a mom and pop store; this is where I get my produce ingredients for Chinese Thai and Indian cooking here : tomatoes and tofu ; green onion and yellow; potato and mushroom ; okra and peas ; bean sprouts and coriander! Conveniently located so that after shipping I can embark on bus 45 back to Russian Hill. After shopping go to nearby Cavali for cappuccino.

Pho Hoang
3495 Sonoma Blvd H, Vallejo, CA 94590, United States
There are a lot of Pho options in Vallejo, and they are all pretty good. I had P5, which is the combination Pho. Usually, Pho comes out piping hot. This was served somewhere between lukewarm and hot, which was a turn-off right away. Had it been piping hot, I would say it is on par with other Pho restaurants. My friend had some sort of grilled pork. I forgot which one it was, but it was outstanding! Such a flavorful char on the meat. I would recommend trying that. I also ordered the mango salad, but it was not available on this day. The ambiance in the restaurant was nice. Wonderful decor with soft relaxing music playing in the background. I will try this restaurant again, and as long as the Pho is piping hot and the mango salad is available, I will adjust my star rating higher.

Michael Warring
8300 Bennington Dr, Vallejo, CA 94591, United States
Do I have good reasons for a 1 star review of an acclaimed restaurant? Well, you judge. The restaurant is in a standard retail storefront of a small shopping center. It has no atmosphere at all. If you plan to have a romantic date, this is one of the last places you would want to go. Everyone can hear everyone elses conversation unless you whisper. Its obvious obvious that this place was chosen because the rent is cheap and nothing was done to make it an inviting atmosphere. We reserved by phone and were told the only time open was 6:30pm. From S.F. you can plan on 90 minutes to get there during the dinner hour. It was a long drive and traffic was bad; we arrived 25 minutes late. There were exactly eight other people in the restaurant; it was more than half empty. The fixed tasting menu has four very small courses plus cheese and dessert. We were told that the first course, a salad, had been served and that the chef did not want to prepare it for us now because it would interrupt his concentration. We were also told by Mrs. Warring that there were three seatings in an evening, that each seating had a window of two hours, and if service did not start promptly and follow the schedule, the next service would be disrupted. Although I was upset about not receiving the first course, I sighed and accepted this reasoning. (It was only after the meal ended and I paid that I found out that there were no other seatings this evening and that Mr. and Mrs. Warring were anxious to close the restaurant and get home early.)Still under the illusion that there would be two more services that evening, I ordered a glass of an excellent red and received approximately 3 ounces, if that much. I asked if that was a standard pour and was told yes by Mr. Warrings wife, who was quite coldly and unsmilingly providing the waitress duties. Servers of course range from those who smile and are obviously happy with their work to those who hate their job and see you, the customer, as a problem that is ruining their day. Unfortunately, Mrs. Warring is a perfect example of the latter. Each time she passed by our table the few drops of wine in my glass became a few degrees cooler. The promise of great food, of course, is the main reason that one drives an hour and a half and pays high prices to eat in a shopping center. I cant comment on the first course. But the second course was a small one-inch cube of raw fish with a few bits of something and a 1/4 teaspoon of sauce drizzled over the fish. Perhaps a super-taster with a very dense system of taste buds and a nose for every nuance could appreciate the subtlety of the dish, but it was lost on me. The one bite of fish was excellent. The rest of the dish was all promise and no delivery. The third course was some kind of raw meat cut into five one-inch cubes. Tough and stringy is a perfect description of the quality of the meat. Almost impossible to cut and about five minutes to chew each cube. I suppose this was a strategy to extend the dining time given the miniscule portions. The chef would then have more time to prepare the cheese plate for the patrons. The cheese plate had three local cheeses. Mrs. Warring seemed very proud to announce that one of the cheeses had been aged for six months. Given that the week before in Bologna, Italy, I had tasted a three-cheese plate of Parmigiano aged 21, 24, and 36 years, I was not terribly impressed.Dessert was fine. When I paid, a little before 9pm, I noticed Mr. Warring cleaning and closing the kitchen. Of course, they charged me for all the courses even though they refused to serve the first course. Of course I will not be back. But as a warning to you, there are so many other excellent restaurants in the Bay Area and the wine country, why run the risk of an unpleasant experience, a server who doesnt like serving, a long drive, a high price, and a snob-attitude. Spend your money someplace else where you have a much better chance of having a great time!

168 Market
765 Sereno Dr, Vallejo, CA 94589, United States
Well my experience shopping at 168 market was very nice. I went there once on my bike and the security guard watched my bike for me theyre very nice but didnt really have what I was looking for that day but I went yesterday with my husband 11/21/2023 that was his first time I laughed at him cause he was taller then everybody in there. I bought the rest of my thanksgiving food and let me tell you all the meat and seafood department is on point, clean fresh looking seafood great prices I can do for awhile I was a regular at Walmart but the food just got to high for my pockets. 168 is like a mini seafood city its nice and they got a hot deli as soon as I taste that Ill leave another review. The best part is I only live across the street. Thank you for bringing a different flavor to the neighborhood we needed a little change. But I think they should have like food other than Asian food I only say that cause of the location somebody told me the reason why they only have their type of food is because they only want their people to shop there but I dont think Thats true at all because they wouldnt have put their store right there. I havent been back but I will in do time.??????

Provisions

Nothing wrong with the food. The food is very good. Historically, the service has been hit and miss. But this time around our server was very good and we left them a good tip.But we had a very bad experience with the owner and management of the place. This past weekend I took my wife and children there to have some brunch. We got seated right away, and we order our food with no issues. But we also decided to get some mimosas. My wife decided to get a regular mimos for about $8, I decided to get the bottom-less mimos for about $21, because I figured I would want at least two. I figured I would get about four or five for a bit more money, so that is what I picked.Everything was going fine until about my fourth one. By the time my wife got up to remind them to get them my fifth (pretty small glass flutes, and I am about 180 pounds), they started looking at us sideway. I guess they thought we were cheating. But we had not quite gotten that at the time.Towards the end of that fith flute, my wife took a sip or two of it, and so before I was about to get my next refill, some nasty lady came by and said that the next refill would be my last. Then before that even happened, the owner (we know her caue we go there often) stopped by and tried to take my glass away, but I didnt let her grab it, and explained to her that I was still waiting for more food. Then she chilled, and told me she would give me my last refill (which I think it was my sixth as I stated earlier), but that was the last one. Then our server came to appologize because they understood that by that point, other customers had noticed all the drama. My wife was very upset and embarrassed, so we told the server that what they had done was uncalled for. The server once again appologized and said that a lot of times people come and cheat. But I told him is not my fault that I am a sizable dude, who is not going to get drunk from some weak mimosas that easy, but that did not mean we were cheating.Frankly, if they have to police so heavily the bottom-less mimosas, then maybe dont sell them. Sell me a small pitcher instead, and leave me alone. Or charge a more fair price for the week, small mimosas so people can just order their three without going over $20. But you cannot have your cake and eat it too. The way they treated us (Im hispanic and my wife Black) was disgraceful. And we are never going back there. We will be tipping servers well, at places where they treat us with respect. We hope these people learn from this experience, and start treating others with respect, regardless of their ethnicitiy. It can be a new start for them, so that they stop losing customers. I hope the owner and management will respond to this message, and apologize. It is the least they can do.

My Thai House

I've been coming here for a few years and really do love the food. However, tonight's service compelled me to write this review. The hostess did not acknowledge us as we walked in, which is fine since we were picking up an order. We walk to the front and none of the three people behind the counter do not say anything. Completely ignored us.When the hostess finally asks us why we are there we say we are picking up our order. We placed it before 7pm.She looks at what was available and says she does not have our name and walks away. I ask her how much longer it would be and she walked away again. We speak to her once more and she says it will be 5 more minutes. Then another worker says they do not have our order. He then says it will be 10 more minutes, however when we called it in we were told it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. As I write this, it has been almost an hour.We do love coming here but the service has declined in recent months. I do not know if there was some change in management or employees, but one thing is certain, count on your estimated wait time being much longer than they say.
