Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
187 Yorba Linda Blvd, Placentia, CA 92870, United States
Horrible experience, horrible service, horrible staff, horrible customer service. I regret ordering food from this horrible restaurant. I will never ever, ever, ever, ever eat here again. I don't recommend this restaurant at all; Unless you purposely want to have a horrible experience. The following paragraphs meticulously explains my horrible experience. My girlfriend and I rented a hotel room after celebrating my birthday on October 23, 2020. We had an exciting evening with family at a great venue. We traveled over 20 miles to celebrate with my family in the City of Orange. After the birthday celebration we rented a hotel room in the City of Fullerton. The following morning we enjoyed breakfast near the hotel. We then returned to our room for rest from the previous night. Now for the horrible part of my birthday experience. On October 24, 2020 at 4:45 PM; My girlfriend and I ordered food from Pick Up Stix in the City of Placentia. The food would be delivered to our hotel room door. I asked my girlfriend to stay in the room and wait for our order to be delivered. I went to a local store for some items we needed for the evening. When I returned to the hotel room, the food was ready on the table. My girlfriend said in delight, “ honey dinner is served”. I replied “Mmmm I'm starving “. We sat down to eat. I placed a napkin on my girlfriend's lap and sat down. Here's why I had a horrible experience with Pick Up Stix. They failed to include plastic ware and napkins with our order, the food taste the way way wet cat food smells, the food was cold, the rice and chow mein was dry and hard, the shrimp taste expired, the chicken was hard and taste old, the spring rolls were practically empty. This isn't the worst part.I gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. When I called the restaurant for an explanation, they placed me on hold. The employee said she would only place me on hold for a second. 7 minutes later I hung up and called back. Only to be placed on hold again. I was told by an employee that I was on hold waiting to speak with the manager. After calling again, I was told by a different employee, that there was not a manager on shift at that time. The previous employee had lied to me.I finally got a hold of someone. I was told by an employee, who refused to give their name, that their policy specifically required them not to pack forks or napkins. “Incredulous” I replied. “How am I supposed to eat my food”? I asked. “That's not our problem. Use forks and napkins from your house” she replied. “I'm at the hotel you guys delivered the food to. I didn't bring forks and napkins with me” I replied. When I asked the restaurant employee how I was supposed to eat my food with out a fork or spoon or chop Stix. She told me to use my hands.I had to drive, a round trip of 6 miles, to the restaurant that delivered our food to us just to get forks and napkins. Worst experience ever.

Our Nest

So my husband and I like to checkout new places for brunch on the weekends and I happen to see great reviews on Yelp for a new place in Fullerton called “Our Nest”, very cute name by the way. So we decided to see what all the hype was about. It's in Fullerton, not to far from CSUF and close to the 57 freeway. There was plenty of parking which is a plus, because I fight for parking at work everyday and I'm not in the mood for that on the weekends. Anyways, when we walked up there was out door seating (under white tents) as well as about 6-8 tables inside. We chose to sit inside and we were immediately seated, which is really nice when you're starving and smelling all the good food being served. We were greeted by a very sweet young girl who asked for our drink order. She asked if we wanted a mimosa, so it appears that they serve some alcohol. We opted for water and coffee and it came out right away, with a nice size bowl of all types of creamer packets, a variety of sweeteners and stirrer sticks. I like that they just brought it out and I didn't have to ask for flavored creamer. After looking over the extensive menu (lots of choices), but not too many or overwhelming. We decided to order breakfast even though it was close to noon and we could've ordered lunch. My husband ordered the chorizo and eggs (made with turkey chorizo) and I eyed up the cinnamon French toast... I ended up ordering an half order of French toast which comes with 2 pieces of toast and a side of bacon which comes with 2 pieces of bacon. I must say that French toast was amazing!!! It melted in my mouth and it was crispy on the outside and soft and custard like on the inside. It was just cooked to perfection! I tasted all three components on my husband's dish which came with chorizo and eggs, Spanish rice and refried beans, oh also choice of flour or corn tortillas, he chose flour. I thought the chorizo and eggs was the best thing on the plate. The beans and rice were just ok, not bad, but they didn't knock my socks off. I judge Mexican food on how good the beans are and I can say I'm super picky about refried beans. After both of us practically licking our plates because it was just that good, we got a topper on our coffee, paid and headed on our way. The owner of the restaurant came by and asked how everything was, she was young, sweet and very appreciative of our business!!! Everyone there was great, service was better than I expected and the cinnamon French toast is definitely a hit if you're looking for a yummy not too sweet breakfast treat. If you're in the area, I'd definitely give it a try. So if you're wondering why I didn't give it a 5 start, there were just a couple of things that I feel brought the rating down. One was there was a customer, an older guy who came in and was either ordering food to go or picking up food to go. He came in without a mask and our table was close to the hostess stand where he ordered his food, he was friendly to all the servers and said hi to each one of them and not one of them asked him to put his mask on, even though the signs on the entrance say a mask is required. He waited inside for his food, about 15 mins and didn't wear a mask the whole time... That somewhat bothered me, but not enough to say anything to anyone, because I was really enjoying my breakfast. The second thing was the floors. They're concrete inside the restaurant and I'm a fanatic about clean floors in a restaurant. One server whipped a table and instead of whipping the food into a dirty dish or towel, she whipped all the food onto the floor. I expected someone to come by with a broom and dust pan to pick up, but unfortunately that didn't happen. Overall I'd recommend you give it a try! The food is definitely a 5 ⭐️ rating!!!
Pho Noodle House
646 N Rose Dr, Placentia, CA 92870, United States
This is my familys go-to spot for amazing food, service, and atmosphere to be able to sit and talk and eat together. We like it so much that we bring our co-workers and visiting family/friends and theyve come here to eat whenever theyre in the area as well.My usual dish is the Pho Tai and eggrolls, and I could eat it here every day. I usually gauge a Pho place by their basic Pho and broth, and this is one of the best! The portions are generous and the service is un-matched. The broth tastes so good and there is a lot of meat and substance. When my family first started coming here, Id only come with them maybe once a year since I lived abroad, but Nathan, the owner, remembered my name each time. His kindness and intellect is amazing. I now live in the area and though we do go over to Little Saigon area for other Vietnamese food, coming to Nathans restaurant is my favorite for Pho. Im pretty picky with my Pho, and its pretty amazing that my favorite Pho place is NOT in Little Saigon...its right here in Placentia! As far as service...I dont think youll find amazing service like this in any other restaurant big or small. Even during rush hour everyone is well attended to. Nathan the owner comes out to serve and greet and he really makes you feel like VIP every. single. time. We as customers totally take it for granted. I dont know how he does it but him and his staff/management are top notch.
Residence Inn by Marriott Anaheim PlacentiaFull...
700 W Kimberly Ave, Placentia, CA 92870, United States
It is disheartening that I have to write such a bad review on a Marriott hotel, but I strongly believe everyone needs to know for their own safety and wellbeing of the circumstances in which this hotel is running and the lack of cleanliness, especially during a pandemic. Let me just begin by saying that this hotel does not warrant a star at all. Upon our arrival on August 21st, 2020, I was greeted pleasantly by Yuri, the Supervisor, who stated there was a $300.00 deposit, which was never mentioned at the time of the reservations on top of paying the $250.00 per room at the time of check in. After Yuri checked us in, she handed me my parking pass and keys to the rooms (we reserved 2 suites). My friend and I went to each of our rooms and thought that would be in for the night as we were tired from all the driving we had done, coming from Arizona. However, that was not the case. Upon walking into my room, second level room #1421, the stench was horrific, and the condition of the hotel was unbelievably grotesque. My eyes began to water and swell becoming blood shot red. I am not sure what type of chemicals they are using to the mask the bad odor in the rooms, but it was awful, not only did it make me sick to my stomach but also physically sick. As I walked further into the room, there were visible stains on the carpet and couch. The line was drawn when I entered the restroom. First; the vanity was falling apart, the patch work they had done on it was beyond low standard, the bath tub was filthy with brown grime around the tub and on the floor, around the edges there were residual hairs from previous tenants and some sort of bug or animal droppings along with a yellow stain, not sure what this was if it was urine or chemicals? By this time my eyes were extremely red and watery. I left my room to check on my friend and see the condition of her room, # 621, which was no better. There were bugs literally coming out from the drain in the bathtub, there was a significant piece of wall missing which exposed the metal from. I called Yuri, supervisor at the front desk, to let her know the rooms were both unacceptable, making me ill and we would not be able to stay there. She tried accommodating us by setting us up in different rooms, which were no better. When I was taken to the alternate room, that too was stinky, the carpet had a huge stain along with the couch stains all over it, not to mention the wall had a streak of either poop or dried up blood, not sure to be honest and the bath tub again was brown. To say the least, I went back to Yuri and explained to her that we cannot stay the night at the Residence Inn as it is not being cleaned or cared for properly and it should be more than ever due to the current situation we are all in which is Covid-19 pandemic. By the way, my funds of $1100.00 were not released by them until Wednesday morning-August 26th, they held onto them since Friday August 21st. It is heart breaking to experience the negligence of this property's leadership, quality, maintenance and cleaning teams. I myself would be embarrassed if I put someone up in my home in those awful conditions, I am pretty sure no one that works at this property would sleep an entire night in one of those rooms, not sure how they expect their guests to do so. I will be uploading pictures so that you get an idea of what the bathroom looked like.
Dennys
108 E Orangethorpe Ave, Placentia, CA 92870, United States
Dennys is usually a staple for friends, family and all in between. This one stands out however. I came to this location about 1 year ago accompanied with my fellow church members (FCCA), and knowing that they have been coming there for a long time is easy to see- as well as to why its so packed on Sundays. Parking can be a hassel, but luckily the hotel next door allows you to use their lot. Walking to the restaurant isnt bad at all either, even with this small problem. One of the reasons why its packed is because in comparison to other Dennys Ive been to, this location is fairly small. That doesnt mean while eating youll feel cramped though. The atmosphere is very lively with the hustle and bustle of serving. All of the servers are very kind, and willing to help you with your order- a great deal of patience. Very clean reasturant as well. When ordering youll have a easy to read menu with great delectable options to choose from. Children will love the pancakes here, and there are plenty of good skillet options, as well as the $2,$4,$6,$8 items for breakfast. Coffee is brewed very well too. Personally, I havent tried anything lunch or dinner related, but nonetheless the chefs in the back will whip up something that will satisfy your taste buds. All in all youll leave satisfied, stomach full and no hole in your wallet. Recommend greatly. If you read my review to the end, thank you and youre awesome.Have a blessed and great day/week(s):)-B.P
Salt & Ash
1390 N Kraemer Blvd, Placentia, CA 92870, United States
My fiancee and I were recommended here from several friends. These friends have similar taste to us so figured it would be a nice new place to try. After coming all the way from South Orange county I couldnt be more disappointed. As soon as we sat down we had to deal with constant complaining of the patrons next to us. No fault of them, this was clearly on the restaurant. Any how Ill leave that story for their review. Our situation: communication and quality. To start my fiancee orders the bone marrow French toast and I get the chilaquilles. After a few minutes waitress comes back and indicates no more bone marrow French toast. As soon as the kitchen is out of and item the manager should make sure all staff know its 86d. Nada. This was the main reason we came, so she could try this.So she then chooses to order the burrata plate. 10-15 minute wait for the buratta. Which yes, it was busy and normally I dont care about 15 or so minute wait. However it was going on another 10 minutes and me asking before my chilaquilles came out.Oh boy the chilaquilles:Dry dry dry chicken.Soggy as soggy gets. Absolutely no crunch, dont you guys pay for a broiler? Use it.The Verde sauce, the manager swore they scratch make it. I think he should double check prep for cans. It was overly salty and tasted straight from a can.The somewhat good: the buratta was good. I presume its bought in.The Apple butter was great, but in the menu it is listed as an chutney, where was the vinegar, the spice?I know this sounds like a bashing but I feel this review was 100% warranted. On top of it all our waitress seemed as if she were too good for most of the customers or a severe lack on work ethic as checking on your patrons every 10 minutes at best when sitting at the bar is absurd. The only reason I would contemplate giving them another shot is because friends say they love it and the manager was willing to listen to my criticism without losing his cool. I think he has A LOT to learn and teach his staff.
Little Caesars Pizza
1212 E Yorba Linda Blvd, Placentia, CA 92870, United States
If I could give this place no stars I would, not for the pizza since it all comes out of a freezer, but the piss poor customer service. This was my experience: I needed a pizza place close by for a large order of both cheese and pepperoni pizzas for my daughters school. These bozos were close so I called, and called, and called. After an hour someone finally answered. That should have been my first sign. I placed my order for many pizzas for pickup in 2 days. 2 days later, I arrived promptly at 10:30 for pickup as I was instructed and was informed they did not make the correct amount of cheese pizzas and I could either wait an extra 20 minutes + so they could make more or take more pepperoni. The rude blond girl child at the register became upset at me when I was frustrated at this, no manager there by the way and definitely no apologies. Since the planned lunch for the kids was at 11 and I could not just run to another pizza place and have the pizza in time I took the pepperoni and went to the school. So some of the kids did not get to eat due to dietary restrictions (no pork) not enough cheese pizza to go around or some just did not like pepperoni.Point is they messed up sorely and did not care about customer service. They informed me they needed 24 hour notice and I gave them 48. No excuses for this. I reported them to corporate.
Pizza Hut
1901 Placentia Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92627, United States
Great staff, I was working directly across the street and needed to have a meal delivery sent my way. I informed them that I was able to see there establishment from the seat I was in and asked if they would mind walking it over to my office because it did not make sense for them to have a driver deliver my meal. I was not able to leave my work station at that time. They kindly said yes and delivered my meal so fast it was still hot from the oven. They have great deals for a quick bite to eat. I enjoyed every last bite. I was great appreciative of there service. They get a five star review for there willingness to walk meal across the street I even tipped them well for the delivery putting a Big Smile on the delivery persons face. I WILL DEFINITELY UTILIZE THIS OPTION MORE OFTEN.THANK YOU FOR YOUR AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE PIZZA HUT STAFF..THEY DESERVE THE 5 STARS I GAVE THEM ON THIS REVIEW..
