The FoodMalaysian restaurants are far and few, and those that serve Asam Laksa are even more uncommon. Partner and I got introduced to Chicken Licious, and mentioned they had Asam Laksa, so we decided to give it a try. My partner of course got Asam Laksa (亞參叻沙), so I wanted something different to share. I got their Ayam Penyet Smashed Fried Chicken (印尼炸鸡). We also got Curry Puff (咖喱角) and Hakka Sticky Rice Dumpling (客家粽, 咸肉棕). It is also nice that they have herbal soup for you to sip on while you wait for food. The Asam Laksa came with a flavorful broth, with various toppings, and noodles. The Ayam Penyet Smashed Fried Chicken has a spicy (sambal?) sauce to go along with the chicken. They also had nice flavored rice, fried tofu, and pickled vegetables with the dish as well. I quite enjoy the dishes, they are all well made and have a unique flavor. The MiscellaneousThe restaurant is in a plaza known as Caribbees Center. The plaza is quite big with a good amount of parking, but the parking is quite weird and narrow. The interior has a bright aesthetic. Upon entry, there is a waiting area with a flower wall decor. The main dining room is spacious with decent seating. The staff and service was good. We had a short chat with the owners on how hard it was to source all the ingredients for Asam Laksa. Their menu has a good selection of dishes, focusing on Bento and Noodle. But they also have Snack, Side, Dessert, etc. If you are looking for some authentic Malaysian food, I would recommend giving this place a try. I would also want to go back to try their other dishes.

Sweet Mango

Get your Burmese food fix here, for a relatively inexpensive price. Their soup salad and entrées start at $7.50. I go for their Kung Pao Veggie and Singaporean noodles and they are very tasty, or go for the Chicken with coconut curry which has a great texture and flavorful aroma as soon as it arrives on your table. The service here is good, but obviously since it is authentic it may be hard to have a conversation with your server. I would compare this to Burmese Super Star in San Francisco if you need a comparison, and its a great cheap alternative to the more expensive Burmese or Thai restaurants in the area.

Came here for a late lunch with a friend and I have to say that I actually really enjoyed the food. Got #34 and the flour cake, both of which were really good.~~Parking: There's only metered street parking available ($2 per hour), but be careful not to park in the residential area that requires a permit.~~Service: Prompt. They were fast to seat us, keeping an eye on us to know when we wanted to place our order and they were very kind when I paid the bill and asked for a to go box.~~Best Part: The food. Honestly it tasted better than I was expecting. I was expecting a plain broth when I got the #34 order, but man it was packed with flavor!~~Worst Part: Parking, but luckily I just had to make a couple of rounds. I think normally it's fine but there were a lot of spots that were marked with a tow away sign.~~Tips: Bring quarters to pay for the metered parking, but they do accept credit card as payment!~~Return: Definitely would if I was in the area.

Sizzler

Sweltering hot, like a Singaporean outdoor restaurant, with long lines of people who had at least 40 minutes or more to decide what they want, but instead let their kids use their adult like decision making intellect to ask for things that arent on the menu. But wait only 1 cashier available. Then the medium rare steaks that come out well done the 1st time, and medium well the 2nd time. Then you get to stand in line waiting to get a drink while an inattentive mother lets her child play with the fountain drink dispensers. Other than that you can have mountains of food, if you could ingest it. Did I mention that the soft serve cones had the paper wrapping fused into the waffle cone and couldnt be separated after you already filled it with ice cream? It has been 40 years since I ate at one of these cattle feed troughs, and it will be another 40 before I consider it again.

Han Kee 2 Restaurant

The restaurant is pretty darned divey, to be honest. But menu selection is good, they’re really friendly, it’s surprisingly quite clean, and the food is yummy. Won ton Soup are plump and not skimpy. Had some roasted garlic or something that adds a nice flair. Not on the menu, but they special made for us Singaporean chow mein (they have some thick noodles version). Very good. This part of review is strictly for the counter where you can buy cooked meats. BBQ park is very good. Not too fatty. Not to lean. Not too sweet. Just right! Roasted pork belly had excellent crispy skin and great taste. A few pieces were a little on the lean side. But I’m definitely coming back again now that I’ve found them.
