Sweety Hut Thai Restaurants
1215 S Glendora Ave, West Covina, CA 91790, United States
Parking:The restaurant is conveniently located inside a plaza with 24 parking spots available (2 parking spots are reserved for the liquor store. It has green paint on the curb that says 5 min parking and 1 wheelchair accessible blue parking). However, even if the parking lot is full, there is street parking available on S Glendora Ave right next to it.Service:Upon entering Sweety Hut Thai, we were warmly greeted by Ken, our server for the night. Ken provided exceptional customer service throughout our dining experience, making us feel welcomed and attending to our needs. His friendly service and attentiveness added to the overall positive dining experience.Atmosphere:The place is easily identifiable within the plaza, thanks to the big Thai Restaurant sign on the building. The interior was clean and well-maintained, creating a pleasant ambiance for diners. The restaurant was semi-empty, which may have been due to the drizzly weather or the late hour.Food & Pricing:Sweety Hut Thai offers a wide selection of Thai dishes to choose from. We ordered the Pad Thai combo, which came with fried wonton, salad, fried rice, and a complimentary veggie soup (only for dine-in) priced at $12.45. The Tom Yum soup, customizable in spice level (Mild/Medium/Hot/Extra Hot), also priced at $11.95, was particularly delicious. Additionally, we enjoyed the Pad See Ew with chicken for $11.95. Its worth noting that a 15% service charge applies for groups of 6 or more. Overall, the food was above average and budget-friendly priced.Overall:Sweety Hut Thai is a solid choice if youre craving Thai food. The combination of excellent service (Ken is the man!), budget-friendly pricing, and tasty dishes make it a worthwhile dining experience. This places closes at 10pm so whether youre a late-night eater or looking for a place to satisfy your Thai food cravings, this restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere and a menu with plenty of options to choose from.Attached are pictures of the outside building and inside. I have also attached the menu which has a lot of options to choose from as well as the food we ordered.Date and Time of Visit: June 2023 on a Sunday at 8:30 PM.

Cozy Thai Cuisine
2550 Amar Rd Ste 7, West Covina, CA 91792, United States
Updates:Jul 2022:A dishonest restaurant! I wrote $17.37 on my receipt but found I was charged $18.34 on my credit card. The restaurants I went to never charge me more than what I wrote. This is the first one. How can you do business if you are so dishonest?2 years ago:I used to be a loyal customer but got very offended by the attitude of the lady (I guess she is the owner) who took my order tonight. Before I begin my story, I need to say I am giving 5 stars to the chefs and servers. Called at 7:25pm for a Tom Yum noodle. The lady who answered the phone responded with “that's it?” in an angry and discriminatory tone. During the 40-minute of wait, all the people who arrived later than I do already got their orders. One thing I found in common though, they all walked away with a big order. It was then that I realized my small order was being discriminated against and placed till the last to be served. It then makes whole sense why she responded with “that's it” earlier. Feeling is so bad! What's wrong with ordering only one dish? Since you do not seem up to it, I will not place any from now on.

Mandalay Morning Star Burmese Kitchen
750 Terrado Plaza #33, Covina, CA 91723, United States
My mom and I were referred here by a Burmese local at our fav poké bar in Monrovia, and he certainly did not steer us wrong! Its a family-run Burmese restaurant that serves traditional Burmese dishes in what used to be a Japanese restaurant just a few blocks south of Downtown Covina. The restaurant feels homey. If youve never had Burmese, its similar to Thai, but I think its more exotic, more exciting, and deliciously different! The menu is simple and the prices are reasonable. We ordered the Mohinga (fish noodle soup), tea leaf salad, beef curry, and river prawns, all of which were eaten with a plate of steamed rice and some roasted chilis on the side, and omg everything was DELICIOUS!!!!The tea leaf salad is a dish I ALWAYS order whenever I have Burmese food, and this did not disappoint. It was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of crunch and acidity. The beef curry was tender and tasty, the Mohinga was comforting -- traditionally eaten for breakfast in the Burmese culture -- and the river prawns were a delightful surprise. Just note, the prawns are served with the shell intact, which is where all the flavor is! Most Asians eat the shell -- we sure did, and we loved it!Min, our server, along with his dad, were gracious and friendly hosts. We especially enjoyed our conversations with Min, who was kind and easy to talk to.There is plenty free parking on-site.Come support this small family biz and treat yourself to a wonderful Burmese dining experience!

Tian You Feng Dumpling House
1428 S Azusa Ave Ste A, West Covina, CA 91791, United States
I entered Tian You Feng Dumpling House at 5pm when they opened with my sister and service dog, Canelo. We attempted to sit down and a staff member by the name of Michael Wang approached me and asked for my service dogs license. I responded with although my dog is licensed it is against the Federal ADA laws to ask for his license. May I have the owners name please? Another associate came out to reinforced what Michael was saying and said she would Google it to make sure that what I was saying was true. While she was googling, Michael went outside to a white Tesla parked directly in front of the restaurant and came back saying that they could not allow access unless I produced Canelos license. After Michael returned I asked again, may I have the owners name please? He responded with Im the owner and we have the right to refuse service to anyone. I exclaimed no you may not on the basis of discrimination! Thats very illegal in any state. At this time the other employee returns after having googled the law saying that I may be seated as long as my dog is a service dog. At this point in the conversation I was extremely uncomfortable and did not feel my food handling would be within safety standards if I had chose to continue with my meal at this establishment so I left. After going to my car and looking up the business owners public information on the Secretary of States website I, to no surprise, found that Michael was not the owner. A Li Liu was the name on most documents along with Marvin Hsu. I then returned into the restaurant and asked Michael whose names are on the business license and why did you lie about being the owner? He responded that he was the manager and sorry for lying.I really hope this facility comes to the understanding of what equal access laws are and abides by them so that everyone feels comfortable dining here. I do not recommend this place to anyone who has a service dog.

Ph Vietnam Kitchen
2351 S Azusa Ave, West Covina, CA 91792, United States
Went in with my family. I would give the food a 5 star but the customer service was so great. Theres one lady that was rude. I ordered one order of spring rolls and an order of eggrolls the asked her how many were in each. She said 6 for eggrolls and 2 for spring rolls. And then repeated my order which was 1 order of egg rolls and 1 order of spring rolls. Conifmed it and then walked away. As soon as my spring rolls came out i was told i was getying two orders. Corrected the other male server (which was very nice and understanding) that i only wanted one order and he called over the lady that took my order. Rwmind you she repeated my order to me twice so i assumed we got the same understanding. She ends up walking over to my table in a rude ass manner saying i was wrong and she already put in that i had two orders. Then as im explaining to her what i wanted again politely she just walks away and says its okay. Then male server appologized and that lady goes to the register where another woman worker was there and they stare at me as the talk in vietnamese. She comes over again and tries to argues with me that she didnt do anything wrong and i was the one who was. I polietly just asked for my check and took the rest of my food to go.. Such an interesting night i had. Other than that rude lady everything was good.

BURD CHICKEN RICE
148 S Glendora Ave, West Covina, CA 91790, United States
My boyfriend and I found this place when we were both recovering from the flu. We wanted something not too heavy, but also substantial with a good ratio of easy-to-digest carbs and a good amount of protein. Well, besides that technical talk, we just wanted something comforting. Hainan chicken to the rescue! We found this place on Yelp and decided to try it out mostly based on the reviews and their close proximity to us. We didnt really know what to expect since Hainan chicken can vary in tastes purely from the accompanying sauces. This place also offered different takes on the classic dish, from a lemongrass option to a fried option. We opted for the classic burd since we wanted to try their standard take on Hainan chicken. The meal comes with two sauces: a ginger scallion oil sauce and a chili ginger sauce. A cup of hot chicken soup is also served with the meal.Everything worked so well together! The rice is perfectly flavored, with what Im assuming is the rich chicken stock. The chicken itself is tender and juicy, not dry at all. The chicken normally sits atop a bed of cabbage, but we prefer to order it without the cabbage. The sauces are just so complementary, and everything just marries so well together. Then the hot, comforting soup is exactly whats needed as the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Were so glad we tried this place. Since we first tried it 2 weeks ago, weve been here 4 times. Thats how much weve enjoyed the food. The staff is also very personable and friendly. It seems like they have some sort of special going on with their sugarcane juice and plates, although Im not sure if thats temporary or during certain times.Everything weve tried thus far has been good. We will keep coming back to try the different options they offer and to show our support.

Merrys House of Chicken
2550 Amar Rd A5, West Covina, CA 91792, United States
I love their food! Ive tried almost all the Indonesian and Malaysian restaurants in SoCal, and this is definitely in the top 2 or 3 among all of them. I love their Nasi Goreng and their house special chicken. Delicious, Southeast Asian Soul food. Friendly, down-to-earth owners who make you feel at home.

Pizza Supreme
19070 La Puente Rd, West Covina, CA 91792, United States
To preface this If I could leave a zero star review I would. I usually have a pleasant experience when I come here. This time they had me waiting 45 minutes inside the restaurant for an order of 1 pizza I placed for pickup, they told me that they had put the wrong pizza in the oven on the first go. Understandable, the man offered me a beer or soda to make up for the mistake so I wasn't too upset. Until I got home and bit into the pizza, it was completely raw & doughy in the center. DISGUSTING!! I couldn't finish the pizza so I had to throw it in the trash. If you're going to keep me waiting for so long at least make sure my food is cooked. I would've been better off just getting a frozen pizza and making it at home, definitely not worth the 25 dollars I spent on takeout.

Pasha Market
20802 E Arrow Hwy, Covina, CA 91724, United States
Come here because you need that particular spice, tea, coffee, meat, or other ingredients for your traditional and international ethnic meals. Regardless, of country of origin this grocery store most likely has that one ingredient you need. While basics like potatoes, onions, and certain herbs are good due to the turnover, most fruits are not always on-par with box grocery stores. The aisles desperately need to be redesigned given they do not meet established width standards for 2-carts, let alone a person. In many areas, products are piled high and gathered with hardly any maneuverability. But obviously, these traffic and safety issues do not seem to bother customers because the place is always busy. There is only one reason to go here instead of Super King in Claremont and that is distance... because Pasha market is part of San Dimas and Covina.
