Bambinos Pizza
246 W Carson St, Carson, CA 90745, United States
Friendly, fast, large portions. Bambinos is gaining in popularity. When you call in a order for pickup be very specific. Like a large AntiPasta with extra meat. Ir youll get regular lettuce and fixings with too much meat. You know, unless they know your voice just be clear. Otherwise the #Calzones are huge and juicy. The pizzas are very good. Crispy thin crust is my favorite. I was not a fan of their white artichoke and sundried tomato pizza. The sundried tomatoes were chewy and had lots if dried hard seeds. More prep time. They were bitter and ruined the sauce. The ravioli is good. Fast service, we spend about 50 to 69 dollars for three people with lunch the next day. Good deal if you are in the mood for italian, great food worth the drive.

Pieology Pizzeria Southbay Pavillion Mall
20700 Avalon Blvd Ste. B31, Carson, CA 90746, United States
My current visit to Pieology was a little distasteful. I notice that some of the employees had already an attitude when we walked in. What took the cake even more was when asked of getting a side, there in plan site was several long pieces of hair on top of the lettuce bowl. She asked me do I want the salad ?, I replied No and point down to the bowl of lettuce to show her. Then she brings out the large container of lettuce from underneath counter and asked again do I still want it. I replied again saying No due to the fact that the hair could of cross contaminated to that batch of lettuce too. She coped an attitude even more and proceeded to take the bowl to the back. To me it seemed like this is a normal thing that happens ? frequently. Why get an attitude when things are ? pointed out to you. Food shouldnt be contaminated with any foreign objects period. Someones not doing there job and upper management needs to micro manage these employees. The Health ? Department needs to make more pop up visits to this facility.

LAITHS CAFE
860 Carson St #116, Carson, CA 90745, United States
Amazing hidden gem in Carson! The chicken shawarma plate was one of the best I've ever had, and believe me, I know my shawarma. They had a lot of other delicious looking Mediterranean options as well. The real star of this place, however, is the date seed coffee. It's just as it sounds — “coffee” made from roasted and ground date seeds. Apparently this is common in the Middle East, but I've never heard of it here. It doesn't have caffeine, yet I felt an energy boost after drinking it. Also very good for digestion due to the high fiber content. I highly recommend it as a latte with oat milk. The owner actually produces the date seed coffee himself and sells bags there (called Medidate - great name). I bought one and am already making a latte daily. In summary, do yourself a favor and visits Laith's cafe.

Japan Deluxe Tours, Inc.
1820 W Carson St #224, Torrance, CA 90501, United States
Booking this tour was one of the best decisions I've ever made. We did the 11-day Anime-Hiroshima Tour. This tour was amazing and made transportation a breeze. Yuki was our guide and he is the best guide ever. He was fun to chat with and knowledgeable about the sites he was showing us. He taught us the correct way to bow and clap at Shinto Shrines and Buddhist Temples. He is willing to assist you in any way and really cares about his job.Having a bus drive you from location to location was wonderful. It worked great except for the day we drove from Tokyo to Owakudani Valley in Hakone. We ended up on the bus for about 5 hours trying to drive to Owakudani Valley (since the ropeway was down due to strong winds). And it was all for nothing since we ended up not visiting it due to too much time in traffic and a lack of parking at Owakudani Valley. All we saw in Hakone was an Open-Air Museum which was skippable. All the destinations in Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, and Hiroshima were great. I wouldn't change a thing with those. The amount of free time at each location was the perfect amount. It gave you enough time to explore the site, Temple, or Shine and still shop for souvenirs and eat street food. My favorite activity was the rickshaw ride through the bamboo forest. You even get a private section of the bamboo forest to your rickshaw group that walking tourists cannot go into! It was so fun. I also loved the Fukagawa Edo Museum.I highly recommend visiting Takeshita Dori on your free day rather than just with the group. Takeshita Dori it too busy when the group visits and you don't have much time. I suggest going early in the morning around 10:30am to try things you won't get to when the place is super crowded.Even though feeding the deer in Nara was disappointing because most of them were full and didn't want to eat anymore rice cakes, it was still fun to pet them and watch the young ones play. It was so relaxing to watch the deer in the Nara Deer Park. Todaiji was MASSIVE. A trip to Kyoto wouldn't be complete without a half day excursion out to Nara. The two of us were the only ones to visit Himeji Castle, Koko-en historical gardens, and Hiroshima and let me tell you that it is so worth it to extend your trip by two days and visit those sites. Himeji Castle is too beautiful for words. It is a must see! The historical gardens was something that I wasn't looking forward to, but WOW, they were awesome to see in the fall. The leaves and ponds were gorgeous. I loved watching the koi fish and walking the stones over the ponds. It was relaxing. The museum near the A-Dome in Hiroshima was somber. It was heartbreaking to see what people went through, but also a must for anyone interested in WWII history and paying their respects to all those who lost their lives there. There was some incredible food experiences on this trip. My favorite was the Kaiten Sushi restaurant or conveyor belt sushi. It was so fun ordering things and having them arrive to you on a conveyor belt. I had so much fun ordering things there and it was super cheap. You can order many different types of sushi. Try the ones with mayonnaise, they were all so delicious! I also loved the Teppen-yaki meal with a view in Tokyo. The meat melted in your mouth. The savory style pancakes on Miyajima were also a favorite of mine. The Maiko dinner is massive, there were too many courses to count. It was a fun experience although I'm not a picky eater and even I didn't like some of the traditional food items. The traditional style foods were great to try though. Having the tour group compel you to try traditional food, whether I liked the taste or not, was an awesome experience. The Maiko performance was entertaining, especially when she played the traditional game with members in our group. The tea ceremony was okay, but not as exciting as I thought it was going to be and there just isn't room for a group of 14 to all sit on the floor in that tatami room. It was uncomfortable. Overall, the trip was wonderful and I am so glad that I booked it!

Restaurant In the Park
6700 E Carson St, Long Beach, CA 90808, United States
Excellent Service. Anyone can enjoy the cafe even if not there for golf. This is a great spot next to my spa a block or so up. The two ladies in the front were exceptional with such grace and high level of service. Wonderful Sunday spot to grab breakfast. I made my omelette vegetarian and they really added the vegetable fixings. The homemade salsas are excellent. Lovely quaint spot with hearty meals.

Chick-n Wrap
17936 Avalon Blvd, Carson, CA 90746, United States
The food is delicious! Best chicken shawarma I've had.Don't pass up this little jewel hidden in the corner on Victoria and Avalon across from CSUDH. If you're looking for a healthy alternative in Carson, give them a try. The chicken shawarma is very flavorful and the roasted chicken is yummy. It is a to-go style eatery so if you're looking for healthy and delicious this should be one of your go to places. And did I mention that the owner is very personable and kind? He'll even give you a taste test. By the way, don't be alarmed by the dark skin on the chicken. It's his way of making sure that the chicken is cooked fully and the flavors are locked in.

Chinollo

Delicious, high quality, consistent, friendly staff, local fresh farm products, vegetarian friendly, carnivore friendly. My favorite restaurant in the South Bay, definitely the best in Carson. Please dont ever leave me, Chinollo. Im so serious.I love the Green Burger (vegetarian), with side salad and I add on truffle fries. My man likes the Groovy Burger or World burger, side salad, truffle fries... Their curries are amazing and so are their street tacos. You cant go wrong here. Enjoy!

Don Ruben
12006 E Carson St, Hawaiian Gardens, CA 90716, United States
Don Juan goes to Don Rubens for some Nom NomLotsa food por poquito dinero, Don Rubens serves the Mexican classics in filling portions. A walkup window greets hungry customers when they visit Don Ruben.Large signage underneath the menu helps in deciding what to get.Chicken tortilla soup (medium)-An item not on the everyday menu, I knew I had to order this. The chicken tortilla soup was full of chicken, corn, large carrot spears and the rest of the good stuff. The broth was hearty, not too salty, & the portions provided definite bang for the buck.El gigante breakfast burrito-Unbeknownst to me, a 40 cents surcharge is added to breakfast burritos after 11am. Of course, that small caveat was nowhere to be seen on the prominent El Gigante signage, nor was I told that by the cashier prior to ordering, but the 40 cent surcharge was present on the bottom of the breakfast burrito menu. *Sigh*. Anyways, about the burrito, it was a tummy fillin, stick to your ribs bargain. Beans, potatoes, salsa, rice, eggs, bacon & cheese, the el gigante was stuffed like a goose feather pillow. Rice comprised the main component of the burrito, with the crunchy bacon providing that mouthwatering crunch. For $3+, its a steal. The red sauce on the side was deliciously thick, like a ragu. Not a watered down sauce, as at some other places. Roasted chilis are complimentary, too.Service was good. Although the cashier didnt notify me about the surcharge, he was friendly & welcoming. 2 customers were ahead of me, with my wait being about 5 minutes or so. Seating is via a small patio to the right of Don Ruben. I enjoyed my Mexican feast surrounded by a nice cool breeze and sparrows anticipating a few morsels of flour tortilla supplied by yours truly.Parking is in private lot, shared by a pawn shop and other businesses. Don Rubens is across the street from the Hawaiian Gardens Casino.Cheap, fast & filling! Don Rubens offers authentic Mexican food at inexpensive prices. Whether youre in the mood for breakfast burritos, loaded nachos, flautas or gorditas, Don Ruben can satisfy your hunger with any of their well-portioned menu items.Highly recommend!NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

Poly Grill & Bakery

When me and my bf first walked in, we noticed:A. How small this place wasandB. Many people ordering ahead of us already new what they wantedPretty intimidating for a first-timer, but the lady serving the food (everything is buffet style) was SO KIND. She walked us through the many items they served and even let us try some. Everything we put in our mouths was so fresh. Many meats cooked in coconut cream, I didnt know squid could be so delicious until she offered me a sample! We got the corned beef, turkey tails, some type of creamy tuna bake, clams baked in coconut cream, sausages, chop suey and curry. She noted that the bread was very good and upon tasting it, I immediately bought a loaf for my mom too. We made french toast the next day and it was AMAZING.Imagine my surprise when the woman who had taken so much of her time making me and my bf feel welcome told me she was the owner. She said she prepares the food and her husband is responsible for the delicious bread and desserts. It is so rare these days to find people who love what they do and give that love in return to what they put out to their customers. This is one of those places. If you are looking for a spot in Carson that sells fresh Samoan cuisine and baked goods (and the best bread around period) and does it with top notch customer service, you will find it at Poly Grill.

Ueno Sushi & Asian Izakaya
1406 W Carson St, Torrance, CA 90501, United States
We found this place on Yelp, and as usual, they didnt steer us wrong. We ordered the salmon skin salad which was delicious! It was filled with crunchy skin, had just the right amount of dressing, and fresh greens. I will for sure order that again. San Pedro roll and the salmon skin roll were good as well. Lastly, we got the chicken gyoza, which I devoured as soon as it hit the table. The service was just average, but since they just reopened indoor dining, I wont begrudge them that. Luckily, this place is close to home and not very expensive so Ill be back! Next time, Ill take some pictures.Updated 1/23At this point, Ive ordered the salmon skin salad at least 5 times and its consistently delicious. Additionally, the sashimi dinner special and the dynamite scallop are also great.New update 3/24Talk about consistency! My new favorite obsession is the Vic & Jos roll plus the old faithful, salmon skin salad.
