Vegan My Thai & Seafood
21714 Devonshire St, Chatsworth, CA 91311, United States
After contemplating on lunch options in Northridge, I decided to go to Chatsworth.I walked in and I was surprised to find the place empty and but decided to order the food regardless.I ordered a vegan lunch special with panang curry and a soup for the option, and a side of thai coffee with almond milk. Note that this restaurant has vegan options, and even the condiments are labeled to identify if its vegan or not. This way, you dont have to worry about fish sauce nor shrimp paste sneaking up on you, (that line was for vegans/vegetarians only).I started with a soup with was hot and spicy. It was wonderful. The Egg roll provided was a crispy, and the filling was on the mushy side, but still really good. Then I dug into the main dish, the panang curry; which was creamy and bold on flavor. Usually, restaurants add a lot of coconut milk to dumb down the flavor, but at My Thai, it was as flavor as one would expect. That was honestly a good surprise. But due to the creaminess from the coconut milk, it did add a slight sweetness which was well companied by the thai chilis soaked in vinegar. The soy chicken option in the panang curry may texturely resemble chicken. As I was raised a vegetarian, this may have been the incorrect choice for me. Goign tofu or all vegetables next time. The thai coffee was on the sweeter side. But I do want to go back to try thier other vegan options. The customer service was great. As I had gone alone, they were hospitable.Im more surprised that this place wasnt packed. But they did mention majority of thier lunch clients just call in to take it to go.

Came around often and very polite.Food: was ok but Im not a vegetarian or like vegetables much. I came because my coworker invited me to lunch but didnt tell me if was a vegetarian restaurant. ORA GRILL

Delicious my fiancee and I, were looking for good options for keeping up with this new healthier eating we are trying. 2 hours before closing we arrived after checking google maps, we were greeted with smiles and clear review of the menu. The chicken and steak picture on the wall first caught my eye which we ended up getting. Their dumplings which I dont normally eat were so tasty! The chicken and steak mixed with their terriyaki was really filling ?. Suffice to say we were pleased and very full. Good choice for flavor, quantity, and quality . ?
Pieology Pizzeria Granada Village, Granada Hills

Of all the chipotle style custom pizza order places we have in Southern Cal., Pieology is probably my second favorite. I generally like what they do, though this particular experience was a letdown. We ordered delivery from here through one of the 3rd party delivery apps. Just 2 pies. They got the toppings right on both, but:1) One of the pies ordered as deep dish, came as a thick crust pie...so completely different size and experience between the two, and basically not what we ordered.2) The second, a basic cheese pie on thick crust, came with the cheese stuck to the top of the box, so when we opened it up all the cheese came off the pizza. (If you ever wondered what those little plastic table looking things that sometimes come in the middle of your delivery pizza are, now you know.So basically the entire order was not right. Thats tough when its a delivery order, especially through a third-party app. (Full disclosure, the delivery service gave a refund.)Were really limited in pizza options up here in the Santa Clarita Valley, so are happy that we can get Pieology imported via delivery from the San Fernando Valley and we hope in the future to not have this kind of experience doing so.

San Carlo Italian Deli

Best Italian deli around!I grew up in Chatsworth and our fam would come here all the time. One time my dad and I went to San Carlos to get some turkey sandwiches. I didnt like tomatoes despite my Mediterranean heritage so we ordered two turkey sandwiches with everything on it, but one without tomatoes. When Giovanni gave us our sandwiches he said, Two turkey sandwiches...one with everything on it... He handed that one to my dad. Then he looks at me and playfully yells, ...and one with NOTHING on it! Mind you, our sandwiches were identical except mine was sans tomatoes. Well, I figured I should embrace my Mediterranean heritage and heed Giovannis overt suggestion. I now enjoy my turkey sandwiches with tomatoes on them. Also, I took my then girlfriend/now wife there for the first time. She doesnt like to try new things. She just wanted a simple sandwich. While we were waiting, Giovanni fires up some panzerottis. Wifey didnt want to try it, but didnt want to offend Giovanni. Needless to say, whenever we make the trek back to Chatsworth to visit my rents who still live there, we purchase at least a dozen panzerottis each time.I love this place and you should too!

A rating for health inspection, which is hard to get when you have a buffet. This is a little out of the way, but I am WOWed.I saw the sign for 11.99 buffet with 30 items to choose from. So, I obviously thought, probably garbage, but for the price, Ill try it.I walked in and was immediately greeted by the host. He seated me right away, brought me water, and kept it flowing.Key things I loved right off the bat. Naan and Garlic Naan are served as part of the meal. Chai is also served as part of the meal.At most places they will give you water, but no other options unless the price has gone up for a weekend style buffet. Also most places will give you Naan but if you want garlic it costs extra. So, we were already off to a better than 2 star rating. Now the buffet spread. Everything was clearly labeled. One other thing I liked is they kept the vegetarian dishes on one side and the meat dishes on the other, as to not mingle the foods by accident. My friend had a hay day about that one time we went to go eat.I tried a little of everything.I have to say the only thong I wasnt super impressed by was the chicken curry rice option. The flavor was a little on the bland side and it was a bit oily.Otherwise everything was fantastic.Top Dishes:The Eggplant and the Chiken Tiki MasalaActually Ill say the Chicken Tiki was fantastic. Most places use mostly milk, yogurt, water, with spices and a little sugar to make this happen and you can tell its liquidy instead of thick and rich. This was yogurt all the way with a hint of milk to make it slightly less thick. The seasoning on the chicken with the rich creamy sauce come into your mouth and sets off those feel good neurons which make you say, More please!.There are 4 types of dessert and dont miss the orange carrot puree one lingering in the back, because it is quite good.Id expect a buffet like this to be around $16.99 or higher. Exceptional quality and service. If the map says 3 miles away... drive the 3 miles!

Country Deli
9901 CA-27, Chatsworth, CA 91311, United States
Yes, an extensive menu; yes, a great array of pricey choices. Family owned deli with south facing, sunny patio dining and nice bakery items to go. Usually we experience cheerful, happy, prompt service...but last weekend our server Lisa was ditsy and rude, leaving abruptly during taking our order... without apology or explanation. As she delivered our order, she placed my side dish directly in front of me with entree further to my side.Plates and portions are large so moving them isnt the easiest for someone with pain, limited mobility and range of motion, but not all servers understand the entree should be placed center, with sides... to the side. The entree is the star, the main event, the actual meal. We both had the impression she just didnt care about us as customers that morning. Her disappearance at the beginning of her taking our order made that clear. It wasnt her fault the biscuits were dry, hard, tough and chewy, in different places, tasted stale and the fried potatoes were burnt to black crisp in some parts, tasting off, oil was rancid or just too old. Fried fish taste doesnt go well with biscuits and gravy. The gravy wasnt southern style as I expected, hubby tasted and accurately descibed it as dried chipped beef on toast sort of taste. Nasty! Husbands pancakes were ok, nothing terrible nor rave worthy. The place was busy but we didnt get down home flavor or good service as expected here. This marks my last visit to this place, both for off, old tasting food, and yes Ive experienced that here before... the deli, bathrooms and outer areas look clean. But the first time we ate here tiny bugs were on the table... the waitress cleared them away immediately and agreed they were odd, never seen any like them, before or since. Still we gave it more a few tries... but truly... the sketchy, snarky waitress clinched any thought of return visits. Nobody needs to pay such high prices for stale food and a waitress who doesnt care enough to offer anything but rude, inattentive, scattered service...and overly dramatic shock when we didnt rave about our food when she asked how it was. Maybe shes an actress but the high drama raised eyebrow, wide eyed, open mouth shock was just silly. But she warranted this review. Maybe shed just had too much coffee but somehow I doubt that... All that and tight parking, too. Not any bargain.
