Tea Plus Noodles House
1100 Howard Ave ste D, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
On Saturday, around 11am, few tables and wasnt pack. The design is like a small cafe and table to table is acceptable and not too tight (roomy). The service is excellent and server came and took our order quickly. The food came out reasonable pace. The salad is clean and crunchy. The sauce or dressing not enough, I think you can ask for more sauce. The Pad Thai is failure, due to overly spicy and sour (I didnt add the extra lemon). If they can decrease half of the spicy and more less sour, its would be an excellent Pad Thai. The Hong Kong Style Crispy Noodles is exactly like the name. Its definitely crunchy and Crispy. The gravry is little too sweet. All the food presentation thumbs up. The price for 3 dishes are reasonable with the exception that if you have leftover and the to go box is $0.25 without bag. So, bring your own box.

This spring break ~ I chose this tour group with my friends => (7 days) Highlights of the Western United States: Grand Canyon + Lake Powell + Horseshoe Bend + Antelope Canyon + Las Vegas + Los Angeles (Plan D: San Diego Tour + Sea World +Universal Studios)Let's talk about tourism first. The sightseeing locations and accommodation are both OK. The scenery is beautiful and the amusement facilities are fun. The accommodation is liveable and not dirty. There is no internet in the hotel for the first three days except for the lobby. There is internet in the room every day, and overall everything is fun~ It depends on what you think about the food. If you want high-end food, I don't recommend joining this group because you don't have enough time + only fast food restaurants in foreign tourist attractions will give you foodFor tour guides:I was very lucky to have followed a very good tour guide (Guo Lankun) in the first three and a half days. I call her Guo Ma here. From the beginning of the introduction, Guo Ma was very serious. She took turns speaking in Chinese and English without being sloppy or deliberately leaving anything out. Any information (because I am fluent in Chinese and English, so I rush to put this recommendation here), and Guo Ma takes good care of everyone in the car and will not say that she is partial to any one person. The seat planning is also very principled and will not make you feel like you are there every time. Its unfair to get on the bus from the back or the front every time. I only sat in the front, back, and middle for three and a half days. I think everyone will know what I mean by fairness. The time of getting off is also very clear, and What's even more serious is that she will use WeChat to type in the information she introduced and the things we should pay attention to, such as the meeting time, so that people who forget or didn't hear clearly will be sure that there will be no mistakes, and time control is very good. The driver and Guo Ma also cooperated very well. Guo Ma would tell us in advance how to treat the driver politely and all the drivers taboos, which made everyone in the car very happy. I am very happy to meet Guo Ma as a tour guide. I highly recommend taking her tour and I hope I can meet her again in the future.====================================Next is my tour guide for the next three days, Director Feng (I don't know his full name...). I can only say that he has no sense of time, and he will not tell you the meeting time until someone asks...otherwise Then the time was changed again... It seemed that I didnt cooperate well with the driver at all, which made me feel completely inexplicable as I was traveling with the group. I remember correctly that I asked a few questions, but I was given a perfunctory response., and then chatted with other members, which made me very unhappy and felt disrespected. It made me want to stay as far away from this tour guide as possible... So for the next three days, all I can say is... its so dangerous. I dont have much time in the car, otherwise Id go crazyDriver part:I can only describe the driver for the first three days as serious and responsible. When we arrived at the hotel, he would help everyone arrange their luggage in rows for everyone to take. The car was clean and tidy, and the driving was smooth and safe. He would not brake in an emergency and let me sit. Very guaranteed==========================================The driver for the next three days...he didnt cooperate well with the tour guide, and he didnt take good care of his own car. It was extremely messy, and then he drove as he pleased whether he wanted to pass through the tourist area or not~ (It seemed that he didnt feel comfortable taking the car with him. (I haven't been there yet). When driving, I like to have to wipe my car in an emergency, at least 10 times on average. I often have to help each other with bags to prevent things from flying out.As for cars:I don't know why the car is so different. In the first three days, it was obviously a new car, and in the next three days, it was obviously an old car. But what! Forget about the old car... According to me, the toilet should be It was unusable (because it was locked with a lock and the headphone cord was tangled). The air conditioner was broken on the first day, and the glass was cracked the next morning (it was not broken yet). Then the driver and the tour guide were very angry. Calmly... When we drove on the highway, we watched the glass start to peel off due to the wind and vibration~ and then pieces fell off along the way... I really doubt why you dare to drive on the highway like this .....Arent you afraid of breaking other peoples cars? Just because you are a big car? Then what~ We went down to play at 9 oclock in the morning and came back at 5 oclock. The air conditioner was repaired, but the glass continued to be broken... Although the tour bus has two layers of glass, why not repair the glass? Or change the car? We used this in the next three and a half days and broke one layer of glass (returned two pieces) + no toilet + the driver's skills are very poor. Next time When I arrived in San Francisco...the day I changed cars, I was thinking...whether I could get home safely...it was such a terrifying experience. All the above made me see the difference between heaven and hell. At the beginning, I didnt know that this group would be divided into two groups... If I knew it was this kind of group... I would rather play by myself in the next three and a half days. Thats fine, I wont join this follow-up group... Its really scary... So I have to ask the group members who have been on the tour for a long time and choose carefully~ because I dont know what kind of drivers and followers I will get. tour guide
Caffe Central
1380 Burlingame Ave, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
Nice coffee shop at Burlingame downtown. This is the first first visit. I was looking to visit the coffee shop, which I had never been before. When we arrived, it was pretty full. It has indoor and outdoor tables. They are many customers who seem to use it for meeting as we can see many are on video call. I just cant feel the privacy of using coffee shops for meetings unless it is the only choice. About the food, there are many dishes to choose from. You can see the samples. For me, most of them are for brunch or lunch since portions are considered huge. They also have pastries. You still can order a light breakfast option like we did, which is burlingamer. It is egg, bread, and avocado. It has many options of coffee. You can see the coffee options on the wall. Your order is at the cashier, and you will get a number. They will bring your order to your table. Our breakfast was good, and the latte was good, too. One thing may be they can do is to provide a dirty dish container and let customer clean their own table. It is the norm in many coffee shops.
Yangon
1136 Broadway, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
Yangon is one of my/our favorite restaurants. Ive taken my family members who visit from all over the world as well as locally here and they all love it. My best friend and I stumbled on to this place a few years ago when I was searching for a newer place to try but with high reviews. It was love at first taste... Lol. Since then, weve had parties in their backroom and patio, ordered to go or deliveries, or eat here at least once a month. The owners and staff are very humble, friendly, hardworking, and gracious. Im proud to bring my visiting friends and relatives here for so many reasons. Our constant staples/faves: Orange sesame chicken; salt and pepper fish; sauteed string beans; garlic eggplant; tea salad, samosas, honey walnut shrimp; and Burmese chow fun. Thanks Henry and Yangon crew!
Royal Donut Cafe
1165 Broadway, Burlingame, CA 94110, United States
I really wanted to like this place and has all the makings of 5 star review because the food is good but the basics are lacking 1) we were not greeted and I asked table for two and one member staff pointed to the back open tables none cleaned or wiped down 2) asked for a booth for two and denied because I assume owner a young man said they are reserved for 4 despite less than busy hour and other customers of 1 and 2 parties already seated in other booths. The food is good, service is adequate, but the assumed owner just sat on the high tops and was on the phone and not paying attention his Customers. The signs need updating, overhead menus, donuts, and restrooms are missing. The path to the restroom is unmarked to the rear past the kitchen between a cart of supplies and groceries and fridges in the back. The bathroom might be ok for staff, but maybe needs organization and less clutter. The business lacks identity no business history, specials, menu highlights, personality or friendliness. Just food service and promise to make anything you want. There is a sign to be kind, but it's misplaced. We ordered both the corn beef hash and Benedict food is good, no fruit or garnish. The kitchen is located adjacent to the high top bars, but not utilized for customers, but for staff meals and owner to sit. I asked for the bill and the staff member left the machine for me to process the payment. We left the same way we came in with no goodbyes just someone at the register counting receipts. There is take out, but a little confusing as the pickup is located past the register between kitchen and donut display. As I said the basics, something the other brunch places in the area make it a point of emphasis to balance great food and experience. I hope the owner takes this feedback to heart.
Asian Box
1401 Burlingame Ave, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
They state it’s a Vietnamese street food restaurant, but they’re nothing similar to the cuisine they claimed. Not even close. The food was very bland. We ordered Fresh Spring rolls, one Banh Mi (I forgot the name because it was so tasteless) and Grandma’s chicken pho. Everything is very plain, even the spring rolls. When I looked around because the food was so bored, I realized no Vietnamese customers besides us. That said a lot. This is another Americanized Vietnamese food. Now I knew why the Vietnamese restaurant in San Mateo is always packed with Vietnamese and the waitlist is so damn long, because they are more genuine and authentic.
Young Can Wok Chinese Bistro
1200 Broadway, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
PLEASE BE AWARE THEY WILL OVER CHARGE YOU AND TELL YOU THEY CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.My friend and I was running behind and had to catch a flight and decided to stop by this place because it was close to the airport. Before being seated we noticed there werent any customers in the restaurant, so we asked to be seated near the window. The waiter said no but another worker came and said that we could, I mean after all no one was in the place. So after eating we said we were ready to pay and asked the waiter could we get separate checks. She still proceeded to bring a non split check that totaled to $44.00. With my meal totaling 16.00 with tax included we asked again could you please split the check. She said yes and took our debit cards but came back with a paid receipt showing 22.00 on each of our receipts. I explained to her that my meal wasnt 22.00 and that they were over charging me. She said there nothing that she could do about it. A guy came over who exclaimed he was the manager. I explained to him and showed him that my meal was 16.00 but the waiter charged me for 22.00. He said that before we ordered our food we should have told them that it would be separate tickets and that there was nothing he could do about it although he knows my meal was 16.00.He then suggested that my friend go get cash and pay me back. This is not the type of treatment I expect when going to support a business. They wont except anyone giving them 11.00 for a 15.00 meal, so why did they think it was ok to over charge me. I will never support this business again because its not only about the small amount of money that I do work hard for but the principle. It was wrong!
