Khanhs Restaurant
150 E Hamilton Ave, Campbell, CA 95008, United States
Great variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes on their menu in general, which is great because there arent many Vietnamese restaurants in the area (you need to go deeper into San Jose). Their customer service is very nice, too!The ambience is very calm and peaceful (they play classical music & its spacious so it doesnt get loud), like it :) Probably the best Banh Xeo (Saigon crepe made with coconut milk & rice flour) in the area - so glad I discovered somewhere closer to me!Khanhs Banh Xeo was pretty good. The crepe shell is thin and crispy, and it has shrimp and ground pork, bean sprouts, and jicama inside. The lettuce & mint leaves it was served with on the side were fresh :)My other go-to for Banh Xeo is Truong Thanh in Milpitas. I prefer their Banh Xeo for several reasons, but its totally a matter personal preference:- I love the crepe batter (the coconut milk flavor is more pronounced, and the batter is soft and pillowy without being mushy).- I prefer the sliced (boiled?) pork slices to Khanhs ground pork- They also give more meat, there are more bean sprouts and mung beans inside, and they serve more different veggies on the side (carrots, onions). Its overall a better value, but that may be a product of the location. That said, it seems like Khanhs shrimp is much better quality. When I dont feel like going farther to Milpitas for good Vietnamese food, Ill go to Khanhs or Tay Ho.

Campbell has few independently-owned restaurants. This location used to be a BBQ restaurant and before that, a corporate chain. The high rents mean higher food prices but as one of two legit Vietnamese restaurants in Campbell, it’s hard not to root for its success. The BBQ chicken vermicelli bowl is my favorite here, and you generally can’t go wrong with a chicken-based choice. (March 2018)
Yummee Sandwiches

Wonderfully fantastic little hole in the wall place with inside seating, a TV by the entrance, soda and juice fridge and a easy to understand menu. Wifey and I ordered 3 Banhmi sammy's a chicken, pork and vegetarian along with an order of the spring rolls.Spring rolls are very big, taste fresh and the flavor is spot on 5 stars. The peanut dipping had a strange consistency and was liquidy, the flavor was slightly off also 2.5 stars. The pork Banhmi was slightly dry but overall very good with a hint of heat from the hot peppers 4 stars. The vegetarian, with sautéed mushrooms, Tofu, cilantro, pickled veggies, onions, and peppers was a total surprise to my taste buds. Probably the best Banhmi I've ever had. 5 starsThe bread on all 3 sammy's came to us warm, fresh and crispy 5 stars. The person that took our order was super nice 5 stars. This place also has Phò, Pork and rice plate as well as their go to sammy's. They also have Vietnamese coffee and other drinks.Bottom line: this place is super “Yummee” and there is know doubt I'm gonna be a regular here.

I have lived in California for 18 years, almost every day we drink coffee in the afternoon and work online in different neighborhoods of the bay area. One of my favorite is the Pruneyard, today we were sitting at the Flower Flour, where they offer Italian coffee and a friend passes by with a bag of WW and she tells me that she has just been given some wraps. Wow, I had already passed by this restaurant a few days ago, thinking that it was open since I know the menu and I love what they offer. As I am very curious, I walked to the corner of the restaurant to see what was happening, the manager invited me to come in and offered me a dish and a drink to choose from. As I approach the register I recognize the girl who is a barista at Peets, where I go many times and we always chat a little since we both speak Spanish. It was 5pm in the afternoon, we had already had lunch, for my husband I chose Bulgogi Beef Bowl: Thinly Sliced Marinated Steak, Tamago, Cucumber, Scallion, Pickled Carrot, Sesame Furikake Seasoning, Gochujang Sauce, Garlic Aioli | Sub Tofu the dish comes with a base of sushi rice and for me Samurai Salmon: Roasted Fresh Salmon, Sushi Rice, Avocado, Cucumber, Rainbow Slaw, Daikon Sprouts, Scallion, Sesame Seeds, Wasabi Vinaigrette, Wasabi Aioli, Supergreen Flatbread. From today they are open to the public.I cant wait to go back for another yummy lunch or dinner, I highly recommend this place.
Mendocino Farms

This self described “sandwich market” started in LA and now has dozens of restaurants throughout California. They pride themselves on offering locally sourced, healthy ingredients and unique flavor combinations.Their Campbell location has a tiny cramped dining room so most people eat on the covered porch or at one of the handful of patio tables. It was a warm January day so my friend and I decided to have our lunch outside. You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. Unfortunately, our cashier must have been having a bad day because she wasn't the least bit friendly or welcoming.I was in the mood for a sandwich so I chose the Farm Club. It's a classic club (BLT & turkey) but with the addition of pickled red onions and avocado. It sure tasted fresh but the two slices of Mom's whole wheat bread were so dry that they crumbled in my hands almost immediately. It was the first time I've ever had to eat most of my sandwich with a fork! I was also disappointed that there weren't nearly as many slices of turkey or bacon as shown in the picture. I'll go back but will definitely try something else next time. My friend's Avocado & Quinoa salad was a huge mix of some of the healthiest and most interesting ingredients on the planet. He enjoyed it and said that he would order it again.“Mendo” is a nice spot if you're looking for a fresher and more interesting take on the usual lunch fare. Prices are reasonable and the place is squeaky clean. If you have visitors from anywhere else in the country (or the world), take them here for an authentic and quirky California restaurant experience. Where else can you be greeted by a blue cow!

This is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants. I went there with my family. We had soups and shaken beef. The food, service and atmosphere all were perfect. The restaurant is new, beautiful and a hidden gem.
BackAYard Caribbean Grill

We are done with this place. Absolute kudos to the food... each time we eat there, and it has been a few times over the recent years, we are amazed by the food quality and taste. Everything in each of the last couple of instances has been top notch. But the service and staff, including the kitchen staff, are the reasons we will not be returning. On our most recent visit, we ordered catering to be ready @ 11:30 [they open at 11:30]. Arriving at 11:45, and after waiting for another catering order to be filled the person in charge claimed they did not have our order and challenged me to show my order. I had to reach out to my partner to forward me the order via email as we had split up to complete last minute errands for my birthday party. By the time the email arrived the same individual had found the order.I add the fact that there was another catering order filled to point out that catering was being processed prior to opening.Instead of focusing the kitchen on executing the catering, $250 worth of catering, and getting that out ahead of walk-ins, the person in charge allowed them to finish what seemed a leisurely pace and filled several orders such that our it will be ready in five minutes turned into 25 minutes. When I asked for additional takeout containers in case our guests wanted to take some home... I was told they would have to charge for it.This is not the first instance of poor service; weve had the staff hang up on us and even the signage in-store is quite off putting.Great food. Terrible service, and a lack of understanding of how to recover from problems.
Little Lous BBQ
2455 S Winchester Blvd, Campbell, CA 95008, United States
Little Lous serves up good BBQ and Pho with good live music. My first visit I ordered BBQd beef ribs, my fiancee Pho. The ribs were tasty, but a little on the cold side and not hot, like right off the BBQ. My second visit I ordered a cheeseburger, with the works. The burger was good. Three Vietnamese women, one the former owner of a popular restaurant in SJ, liked the Pho. I would give Little Lous 5 stars, but for the cold ribs. If you like blues and/or old school rock, and like to dance, this is the place. Real friendly crowd, and kids can enjoy the music, too. Bottomline, Little Lous is a family BBQ joint that also serves up great Pho with live music with a friendly and lively atmosphere.
