There is a decades-old myth about Asian restaurants in America serving dogs and cats.It pains me to write this, but something has to be said, as Pho ABC was once a wonderful business serving a very tasty bowl of Pho.Whether an ownership change, management change, or just plain lack of no longer caring about their business or customers, Pho ABC has declined to the point of irrelevance.Unfortunately for Pho ABC, there is so much competition in Citrus Heights and the surrounding area for a good bowl of Pho that they need to step up their game. Even prior to the pandemic, there have been errors in consistency (taste, portion sizes, etc.), staffing (leave the rude older staff in the back to cook!), and especially cleanliness (please, use your bathroom at home and save the trip to theirs otherwise you may not eat the food!).If Pho ABC does not make changes, and quickly, more one-star reviews will be populating the review sites from patrons and their business may be relegated to a former business. But today, this One Star rating comes because of a serious issue with the staff and Pho ABCs policy...They DENY access to Service Dogs.Seriously, I kid you not.A sign on the door states No Animals, yet clearly has a disclaimer of except service animals. The sign even has a graphic of a service dog.I enter Pho ABC on an extremely cold Sunday afternoon (December 18th) with my wife and Service Dog (whos in a vest labeled service animal, though this is not a requirement under Federal ADA laws). We are told you cant bring a dog in here and I explain she is a service animal. A very confused look from the hostess/waitress who then tells us we can only sit in the small area where food delivery people are waiting... a small cramped table against a dirty window.I explain we would like to sit in the actual restaurant, away from a window, and not in the waiting area as there is too much comotion. She then converses with a man behind the counter and repeatedly points to us and our service dog. She finally says I ask if okay for you to sit and proceeds to ask another patron if we can bring our dog into the restaurant. Im thinking, WTH? The restaurant is half-empty restaurant and there are plenty of available tables. I once again explain I do not want to be seated next to a cold window (and leave out the part that these front windows are filthy too). She just stands there and points to the window table. At this point, it is not worth spending my hard-earned money at Pho ABC so I turn around and walk out. No verbal interaction. No scene. No attempt to correct them as to what ADA laws state... I just leave as its not worth educating them when they clearly do not care to serve all patrons. So, myth busted... they do not serve dog!

This was unfortunately such a bad Pho experience. My husband and I love Pho on rainy days and we had to ask for a refund on the chicken pho. The shrimp and pork spring rolls were extremely disappointing, the peanut sauce was straight out of the fridge cold and the rolls were 80% lettuce. The grilled pork sandwich was not satisfying, and the broth in the chicken Pho was incredibly under seasoned and didn't taste like it was made with love like we usually have at our go to spot (which is closed on Mondays). The cherry on top was the water, it was really bad. Had a moldy like taste to it. Overall a terrible experience. The lady also had a horrible attitude when we told her we were not enjoying our Pho. She proceeded to tell us that she's only gonna take it off our bill because it's our first time but because we tried it we're expected to pay the second time…. I can assure you there will NOT be a second time.

Second time coming to the new owners place first time by myself I enjoyed the food a lot so I brought back my fiance the next and she agreed that the pho was great and the spring rolls were absolutely delicious we ordered the roll with both prawns and pork inside the prawns were juicy not dry like most places and the pork inside was very flavorful and a little warm which I really appreciated most pho places give you very dry pork with no flavor and the shrimp is usually cook days ahead of time. Ordered hot tea as usual always tasty. Service was good very friendly. I definitely recommend people to come check it out. Thanks for taking the time to read my short review ?

I found my new favorite Vietnamese restaurant… I have tried Vietnamese restaurants in the Bay Area and all over sac/placer county.. this is hands down the best!! They have an Asian fusion taste with their sauces not compromising the Vietnamese traditional tastes. Their chicken is soft and all their veggies are so fresh. This is the best kept restaurant, the best Vietnamese restaurant. Thank you for the great food and service

Hotpot Express
6456 Antelope Rd, Citrus Heights, CA 95621, United States
[This review is based purely off of the hot pot]Man, me and my girlfriend DESPERATELY wanted to love this place. Ever since HL Hot Pot in South Sac closed (for our money, one of the best Hot Pot places in California), weve been searching for a replacement. We saw the amazing reviews for this one, and the next night we found ourselves here. We drove 35 minutes to eat here...it wasnt exactly worth the trip. With a nice atmosphere and nice service, the overall clunkiness of the experience, lack of decent options, and somewhat small portions take away from what couldve been a great visit. But this place has GREAT potential, and we liked a lot from it -- the broths and the whole self-serve aspect especially. This place has serious potential.Atmosphere: 3.8/5-- Situated in a slightly cramped shopping center, its nestled snugly next to a nail salon with a taco bell right across the way. Not exactly premium digs, but we easily found a parking spot.-- The inside is pretty nice; newly remodeled Im sure. It was shiny, so I like that. It was also clean, which you would think nowadays is a given, but youd be surprised.-- Its pretty small. Like, 6 tables and 1 giant table small.Service: 4/5-- When we got there, there was only 1 visible employee doing everything. He was really nice and helpful, but you could tell this was a little too much on his plate at times.-- When he did help us, you could tell he genuinely wanted you to have a great experience. Huge (+) plus!Basically, theres three tiers of plates you can choose from:Green $2.95 --- Vegetables, noodles, tofu (and chicken )Yellow $3.95 --- Meats, fish balls, etcRed $4.95 ------ Seafood, higher quality meatsPretty simple, right? And color coordination makes everything easier too, which was kind of like their version of a self-checkout line. Nice.Food: 3/5+ + The broths we got (house special and spicy beef) were delicious, and pretty intense. The spicy is pretty spicy. Be warned that these two are very similar. Also, both of them were inherently Thai broths. We werent really aware that this was more of a Thai hotpot place, but the menu suggests that.+ Shiitake mushrooms were part of the green plates, which is saying something because usually theyre not included in hot pot or very expensive.+ Meat was good quality, and the vegetables were serviceable.(-- --) The dipping sauces were....not very good. Two ladies behind us seemed to enjoy, but neither of us did. One was some weird Asian take on thousand islands, and it just seems totally mismatched with hotpot. The other was some overly spicy lime/chile sauce. Thats it.(--) Not a huge selection on veggies at all, I was disappointed. Basic cabbage, bok choy, broccoli, cucumbers...and thats kind of it. Was looking for watercress, spinach, etc.(--) The set up at the table was just...clunky. Something just kind of seemed off.-- Some things that we liked: Rice noodles (gave us so much more than the udon noodles plate), shiitake(!), lobster balls, and enoki.-- The seafood medley (frozen assorted seafood combination) was pretty gross, and it was $5.-- The plates that were available to us looked nothing like the plates from when this plate opened, so we were upset about that. Smaller portions and less options :(Price: 3.5/5-- The prices are a little steep than the aforementioned HL Hot Pot (R.I.P.), but we got a check of $31 for 2, which we could definitely slim down next time.-- Drinks are pretty expensive, with no refills for drinks. Thai tea for $3.50? Yikes.-- The meats are pretty expensive here for the small portions, which wouldve been okay, but there were little vegetable options.TIPS:-- Tell him the broth (or two for an extra $3) you want right when you sit down. That way you can just get up and choose your food!-- Rice noodle value is better than udon noodle value-- Stay away from the medley, please. This place could be great, but its not yet. I dont think well make the drive up here unless it improves, but I feel like it will in time.

100% I will go back for pedicures. I didnt try their other services but will in the future. Walking in I was immediately impressed with the cleanliness and overall atmosphere of the salon. Clean, very appealing to the eye. The manicure/nail stations are in the center, pedicure chairs around the outside. Plenty of seating and space so you dont feel crowded. The waiting area is really lovely with a million colors to chose from for nails and toes. Heads up, you definitely are hit by the chemical smell from the products so for that reason, no children are allowed in the salon (signs are posted as a reminder). I made an appt in advance and was seated at the appt time. Chairs are comfortable, everything worked. You get a menu to chose your package and yes, they serve drinks and alcoholic drinks if you prefer.I chose a mimosa $5 and their best pedicure package 24k Gold for $72 plus a gel color for $5 extra. My total before tip $82. To clarify - I chose the best package they have. They have packages down to $42 dollars (my 2 girlfriends got the Pomegranate Lime pckg for $52 each and were very happy!).I was seated at 12pm on a Sunday and was out by 1pm. Busy but not slammed. Quiet enough my girlfriends and I could enjoy our drinks and have a conversation while getting our pedicure without having to yell. They have TVs all around if you want to watch. The mimosa was delish (more juice than champagne but not bad at all!). My pedicure was very enjoyable! Starts with a champagne rinse of your legs and feet, honey based scrub with 24k gold leaf to exfoliate, massage with amazing sented oils, hot stones, mask and collagen socks. Also includes a hand mask.Summary:Salon is a 5 out of 5 StarsTechnician: ask for Mimi, she was terrific! Personable & took her time.Quality: 5 out of 5 StarsPrice: Im going to give it a 4 out of 5 Stars just because $72 is pretty pricey as far as the salons Ive been too. Yes, it was terrific and you wont be upset trying it but to do it on a reoccurring basis Id like to see it more around the $60 mark vs $72.Ill definitely be coming back here for my pedicure needs and will be trying them for manicures too!
