Ph Ca Dao & Grill
12719 Poway Rd, Poway, CA 92064, United States
First time to a Vietnamese restaurant. My son took us there for lunch. They enjoyed the the food. The menu is about 3 pages long, so a good selection of choices. The staff tried to find something that would have worked for me, but to no avail. Sorry, I am not used to the Vietnamese spices, and I did not enjoy the food. It was all prepared perfectly, everyone else enjoyed their food. I guess Im just spoiled on my steaks and hamburgers. If you enjoy Vietnamese cuisine, you will enjoy your experience here.
Pho Tan
12316 Poway Rd, Poway, CA 92064, United States
Pho Tan took over Pho Poway. They just finished 4 weeks and still in soft opening. Plenty of parking in this plaza. We ordered:-Summer rolls ($6.25) came w 2-fish sauce wings ($13.25)-pho filet ($15.50)-broken rice grilled pork, steamed meat loaf and shredded pork ($13.99)-Custom Pho ($13.99)The food here was average, could be better. Nothing special with summer rolls. The pho broth tasted diluted and not much beef flavor or aroma. I feel like it contained msg because I'm sensitive and I was having dry mouth and thirsty throughout the night. The pho filet was sliced a bit thick for being filet but it was very soft and chewable. Both pho had lots of meat.Wings were okay. Had better but I enjoyed the sauce. My favorite dish was the broken rice dish. Great price for the portion you get. On the smaller side but perfect for me. The steamed egg loaf was moist. The grilled pork was a bit salty but had a lot of flavor. Wasn't as tender but still good.I like how the prices are kept low.I think Pho Tan has room for improvement. I would much rather dine here and support a small business than to eat pho at its competitor down the street at the chain restaurant.

Drove over a road dip at Pomerado & Rios which broke the oil pan. Saturday morning I noticed a lot of oil in the carport. I had an 8:30am meeting in Poway but then chose to stop by an auto shop beforehand to get an opinion and a solution. I arrived at Antonios Autocare at 7:55am at the same time as Matthew and Fred. No sooner had I parked and began relating the problem that Matthew was under the car saying what I suspected: the oil pan needed replacement. Matthew took a picture of the damaged pan with his cellphone to show me the white strips of concrete that had caused the damage.Fred said he had to order the pan for the Audi and that Id have to return Monday morning. Meanwhile 3 quarts of oil were added. They even gave me a folded box to place under the hood to absorb the dripping oil. This morning Fred called bright and early to say that the part had arrived. I went there at 10:30 am. Originally Fred said that someone would drive me home but instead, today, he said it would only take a couple of hours so I explored the nearby area, had a nice lunch across the street at a Vietnamese restaurant. Fred called during lunch saying the car was ready! Talk about efficient service!Fred and Matthew made what I perceived as an ordeal a lot more easier to handle. Both men are very personable and kind.Pricewise, I cant compare with others. I was at the point that I just wanted it done asap. But speaking with people in the know (men, for example-hahaha!) it appears to be reasonable, perhaps even lower than other places. At the end, there was a lot of handshaking and hugs. Car is purring, and so am I!!!You will be well-served at Antonios. Ask for Fred or Matthew.
Poway Farmers Market
14053, 14065 Midland Rd, Poway, CA 92064, United States
I love this market. There are some consistent and friendly vendors which is nice. Sometimes vendors just drop off, never to be seen again. The one very big downfall is that the city doesnt enforce ordinances. They have signs posted stating dogs are not allowed in the market area however people ignore them. Having to deal with being tripped by large and small dogs or by small children trying to control their dogs makes it a big challenge. All it would take is one officer at the market for a couple of weeks to enforce it bu kindly informing shoppers of thebordimence since none of them read. Unfortunately it will take a small child being bitten and a law suit against the city for it to happen.
369 Ramen. Poke .Chinese Cusine
12373 Poway Rd ste a, Poway, CA 92064, United States
Unexpectedly, and pleasantly surprised. Starts by looking like a fast Asian cuisine/ cafe. Indeed, although friendly, the service is quick and light on continuity; they work like a Team, which is efficient. I had the Shacho Ramen in the Miso broth (order a cup of hot water in case this delicious broth needs to be lightened a little). Generous large bowl with bean sprouts, fresh onions, ground pork, green onion, deep fried onion, bamboo (a little over cooked), chashu (slices of pork), and a thin slice of fish-cake. I started by using chopsticks to mix the bowl and to grab the authentic nicely done Asian noodles; I used the spoon to taste the broth (they brag that “Our ramen contains real pork bone broth ... brewed for 12+ hours for maximum flavor.” Indeed the broth is noticeably tasty - much better than “Fast Food!” Anyway back to the spoon - once you've eaten your way into the ramen, this dish just kept on yielding solids (ground meat, onions, noodles, etc., etc. all the way to the bottom of the bowl. In summary- no nonsense, tasty and satisfying. Ahhh! ;-)
