Boathouse Asian Eatery
630 Park Ct, Rohnert Park, CA 94928, United States
Heard great things about this place offering freshly prepared dim sum in-house by a Master Chef. Was very excited to enjoy a meal. Oh, what a crushing disappointment it was!As typical with dim sum, we ordered several dishes to try. Disappointingly only three were up to par, all the rest were substandard. The Master Dim Sum Chef should be very embarrassed with the food quality served.Overall, everything lacked flavor, tasted like it was hospital food for special diets. No salt, no sugar, extremely fine maserated meat, over-steamed and falling a part. Bland, flavorless, everything tasted the same - like nothing.Saving graces were the daikon beef brisket stew (however they were only 2 small pieces of daikon found at the very bottom of the dish), this was the only dish that was decently flavored, and it was delicious. The snow pea shoots were also good, and the most expensive dish at $16, but a large portion. And lastly the red bean and tapioca pearls dessert was good. The har gow, and chaozhou and chive fun gor were over steamed making the skins too soft so the fillings fell out. The shumai, and tofu beancurd wrap were tasteless, did they forget the spices? We had high expectations for the BBQ pork, hard to mess that up, right? OMG, they used fattier than typical cut of pork, you would think it would add a richer taste, but no, it gave an oily mouth feel to a tasteless piece of meat. Char siu is supposed to have a rich and sweet taste; they went for a low sugar profile without they Asian spices to lend it its distinct flavor. The taro cakes were undercooked and powdery. The egg tarts were barely baked with doughy shell and under sweetened custard. The sweet dough dumplings barely had any filling and was dripping with oil from frying with not hot enough frying oil. The meat in the beef rice rolls was so finely maserated it reassured us that its safe for people who forgot their dentures; the traditional soy and sweet sauce that should have slathered the rolls was watered down soy with a forgotten hint of sweetness. The soup dumplings actually held its broth, too bad the broth and filling were equally tasteless.Service attempted to be good, but it was obvious that the staff did not understand the foods they were serving and how to best server it. They just plopped dishes on the table without ensuring appropriate eating utensils were provided. Both the stew and dessert soups needed bowls and spoons to serve and eat with, but none were provided and we had to ask for bowls and spoons. At a dim sum house, empty serving dishes are removed immediately as they can accumulate with all the small plates. Here the wait staff ignored the empty serving dishes and let the stack of dishes pile up and crowd the table until it became obvious they needed to be removed. Staff was pleasant but needs more training for this type of meal.Despite claiming to have an in-house Master Dim Sum Chef (who I hope wasnt working when I visited to explain the disappointing food quality), the dim sum place in Santa Rosa outshines this place in quality and service. Even with the rumored food being brought in from San Francisco China Town, the dim sum is so much better in taste, quality, quantity, and price.Sorry to say, this place missed the mark by a lot!

Simmer Claw Bar
595 Rohnert Park Expy, Rohnert Park, CA 94928, United States
All the Simmer restaurants are legit and hella good but the claw bar is top notch! Their outdoor dinning is well set up with plenty of socially distanced tables, all the friendly staff are wearing masks and heavily cleaning after each table. The food is so flavorful and addictive, I find myself craving the spicy Simmer sauce during my work day!I get the shrimp boil with simmer sauce with the added combo of corn, sausage & potatoes, you choose the level of spice. I always get spicy and it never disappoints, I love the burn! Ive also had the lobster and crab, very tasty!! The garlic butter sauce is great also! My husband cant do spice so he gets the mild in his bag and its perfect. All the seafood boils are great quality food and all the different sauces you can get are amazing! Tip- get a side of the sauce you have in your seafood boil bag so you can dip it! The simmer sauce is especially good!Weve tried alot of their food, especially during happy hour which is daily right now. The coconut shrimp appetizer is crispy and delicious with a great dipping sauce. The garlic noodles are out of this world, get it with extra toppings (garlic & cheese), so amazing! Definitely ORDER THE SHORT RIBS! 5 stars, the best in sonoma county! Authentic flavor with great quality meat, you have to try it! Surprisingly the fish sauce crispy chicken wings are FIRE! honestly never thought these would be so amazing because fish sauce you taste, dont smell and these you can smell and taste with no problem! Lol if you know then you know, GET THE CHICKEN WINGS!They do TO-GO food also, order everything togo and it travels well! The staff is so friendly, attentive and quick its an overall great experience! 5 stars, I always recommended this restaurant!
The Cove- Asian Bistro
90 Raley Town Center, Rohnert Park, CA 94928, United States
The little Asian bistro in the Raleys shopping center in Rohnert park is quite a find. It has been open for about six months, but I had not realized it was there because of the open sign above the door is small and every time I had went by previously I thought it was closed. But yesterday I noticed the doors were open and I saw people inside because of the low lighting looking from the outside. You think all the lights are out. On the frontage window they need a big open sign and also when you go into a shopping center. When you first open they will let you have a grand opening sign to attract attention . It's quite clean inside and also the help is very nice but I think it would be helpful if instead of ordering the food up front at the counter it wouldn't seem so fast food like. And also, it would be nice if they would bring the food to your table because of the beautifully laid out restaurant style I think would help business very much. I ordered the Pho which was very good, but not to the normal, but I am used to at most places. The flavor was great but instead of lime, they give you lemon, and the meat was thicker than others to where it was a little tough, but still tasty. To improve anything if I thought would help they should buy a slicer and slice the beef to where most people that eat Pho are used to eating eye of round sliced very thin. The bowls of.Pho are a great proportion and it gives you a lot of broth to where there is plenty left to drink if you like the beef flavor. But those of you who can't eat the whole bowl will probably take it home because it's so delicious. The only problem I have with taking it home was that the containers were made of paper and if you are a working person and it Hass to sit in your car for five hours it would change the taste of the broth. Every other. Pho restaurant that I have been to has always given you a plastic container with lid for two reasons, one it won't change the taste of the broth, too if the container happens to tip over the lid, won't come off. Overall a great little gem to find. The owners really need to let people know they are there. Why are you spend all the money to open for just a few.

First off the cashier was super nice and attentive which is why I gave them 2 stars. I asked about the contents of the Bhan mi sandwich and was told it had paté. I said hold the paté I dont eat pork. So, I waited in my car and came back in and saw the other young woman was making my sandwich. I saw her spread the paté on the sandwich, then the other woman said something and then that woman scrapped the paté off the sandwich and put it back in the bin. I then saw her use the same utensil to get the mayonnaise and spread on the bread. I asked her what she just put back in the bin, shes like mayonnaise, I said no before that, shes like mayonnaise, Im like no before that. I said was that the paté she like no it was mayonnaise. I said you put something back in the bin that looked like paté was that the paté because Im allergic to pork so even if you scrapped it off I would still have an allergic reaction. She then said yes it was paté, Ill make you a new one. After that I thought ok, no problems now. Wrong! The chicken in the sandwich was at least a few days old. Its pretty disgusting. I removed all the chicken and ate the rest of the sandwich because I was starving and I figured I wasnt going to get anywhere with them by complaining. Ive worked in the food industry and the rule of thumb is dont serve people food you wouldnt eat yourself. Not here.
Simmer
6358 Commerce Blvd, Rohnert Park, CA 94928, United States
Way too expensive compared to other Vietnamese restaurants, two coffees, to orders of rice plates, one order of spring rolls for almost $90, with tip, roughly $110. Spring rolls are mediocre, loose wrap, with exposed lettuce and very little meat, the place looks nice but looks are deceiving because we saw a cockroach climb the wall near our table in front of the waitress and she acting nonchalant as if its a norm. We should have stepped out at that moment but for sure that was a first and last. Be warned, save your money and appetite.

Safeway is a horrible place threw my eyes, Ive been going to Safeway since I was a child. They have changed very much. I have over 15 years of experience working for trader Joe. Last week when shopping I was verbally assaulted by one manager and employee who in front of a crowd of people said loudly I was caught shoplifting and told not come back. I was called a thief who had their fingers in my face. It was very very embarrassing! I was like a deer in headlights couldnt even talk I was completely shocked because it was not me Id never seen them before. Ive not even heard back from that stores regional manager. Im left with the feeling they care less what happenedBesides that incident quality of the workers is bad, they stage product to be put up right in front of the product you might want. They give you dirty looks when you even try maneuver threw their isles that have pallets in the middle. They dont care how many people are in line at the cashier stations. They are not the same store I grew to no in this guys opinion they care not about the costumer there are to many stores that do try I will now be able to experience. I hope what happend to me dies not happen to anyone else
Graton Resort and Casino
288 Golf Course Dr W, Rohnert Park, CA 94928, United States
I havent had a chance to visit this casino that often, even though it seems easier to drive to than ones closer to Sacramento. In fact, before my recent visit with family, I hadnt been here since it first opened. But I enjoyed my visit a lot since they seem to have a large assortment of slots to choose from. I do wish more casinos would be smoke-free, since it really takes the fun out of a great machine when someones smoke seems to drift directly my way. I actually wouldnt mind the smoke in general, if people would just be more thoughtful & at least blow their smoke away from other people. I did think their awesome rotating seat covers in the restrooms were really neat! You just have to remember to activate the sensor before you sit down. Every public restroom should have these things!I had to get a rewards card again, because I have no idea where my old card even is. I always recommend signing up for one, even if you dont think youll visit very often. Its better to get some offers than no offers. That was one of the things that did disappoint me previously about this place, because I never got any e-mailed or snail mail offers back after wed first visited a couple of times during their first year open. While my brother, who has been able to visit more frequently since he drives, receives all these cool offers in the mail. I had asked the rewards center staffer if I needed to update my address or e-mail to get mailers & was told Id only receive something if I qualified for an offer. I guess in recent years a lot of casinos cut down on their mailings in order to cut costs, but I thought that kind of sucked. Like how am I supposed to consider visiting this place again, if it seems like Im only a valued visitor if I already play a ton there? I get that they focus on repeat visitors, but I wouldve thought at least initially it wouldve been nice to know they wanted to see us back again. As it was, I did eventually come back...years later!I was sad to actually have only a short time to play, but it was great to be able to earn enough points for the amazing giveaway that day. Only negative was the long walk & somewhat long line for redeeming the gift. Some people may have mobility issues that would make it more difficult, though that particular day was a good knee day for me, so I actually enjoyed the chance to get more steps in. I only played a few different slots, but the machines reminded me a lot of Reno & Las Vegas in terms of space & variety. And maybe I mainly have a positive view of my visit because this was the first time in a while that I actually won some of my money back from a casino. Its always a good trip when you can have some fun & still have some of your budgeted play money still left in your pocket. I hope my family wants to go back again sometime.
