Good affordable Vietnamese food. Not oily. Tried the Grilled Pork plate and Crispy Egg Noodle dish. Grilled pork was well seasoned with sweet and salty taste. Served with rice, pickled carrots and radish, fresh veggies and a side of fish sauce. You can choose additional topping of other protein or egg roll for a couple of dollars more. The Crispy Noodles dish has veggies, chicken, shrimp and veggies with gravy. Gravy has a light chicken broth taste. So why not 4 or 5 stars? Food is good but flavor is on the lighter less complex side. Will return to try their pho next time Im in the area.

This is a Vietnamese restaurant located along Route 101. The store is spacious and can accommodate about 50-60 people. Snacks and canned drinks are also sold in front of the cash register. The Vietnamese restaurants around San Jose, Sunnyvale, and Santa Clara all have similar interiors, and theres nothing special about this one either. Although the interior of the restaurant is minimally decorated, the tables are neatly arranged and it feels relatively clean.Pho is $10, and you can use credit cards. The pho soup is light and tastes good, but the noodles come out in clumps. The garnished vegetables were mint, bean sprouts, and lime. The staffs response was minimal and not very friendly, but it didnt make me feel uncomfortable.Closes until 8pm on weekdays, closed on Saturdays, and 4pm on Sundays. It closes unexpectedly early, so you may need to be careful if you visit in the evening.

Nice family owned restaurant! The food is authentic and the vietnamese coffee was the best Ive had. I would recommend anyone to come visit and eat what vietnamese food is supposed to taste like.

Exceptional fresh, and flavorful. This cafe style restaurant doesnt try to be something it isnt. The facilities are emaciated clean, snd the tables, and chairs are also well kept. Pricing is not out off the norm, unless you make a big deal out of a buck out two.Based on the many Vietnamese restaurants I habe been to, I would say you have restaurant quality food, on generous portions, at very reasonable prices. Grant out you have a cafe string, but Id you didnt, the overhead would be much higher. There rice vermicelli salad is fresh, and has a generous portion of meat, with fresh, flavorful, and crisp vegetables. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee that came with the luck special was very good, snd the whole bill was 12 bucks.Imagine now going to a fast food restaurant and ordering a milkshake...what would your bill be?Great value, clean, deal and you wouldnt leave hungry!

In my perfect word, there would be a late night restaurant called; “Twenty PHO Seven”. ??I was scrolling though my Facebook when this ad came up for B1G1 bowl of pho. Being a Vietnamese food fanatic, I could not pass up on this offer for a free bowl of Pho. Upon doing my research, I found out there used be to late night Vietnamese restaurant called City Restaurant. I went with my two friends to enjoy the Pho, Gyoza (chicken potstickers) batter fried shrimp, mozzarella cheese sticks and egg rolls. The pho was alright, the flat noodle is not fresh and is packaged, in my opinion. With fresh noodles, it’s thicker and has more of a solid look. My friend noticed how the breathing of waitress changed when she tried to claim that the “fresh” noodles comes in every day. Broth and meat quantity was alright. The Boba was delicious! My friend got the Thai Tiger, Thai tea with custard pudding and sea cream. @phopassionmintea?Pho Passion in Downtown San Jose San Jose, CA.

This is a tiny hole in the wall place. It was a cold and windy day so I was craving for something hot (noodle soup) and spicy is even better. Decided to try this place out since it was a late lunch (around 2pm).This is in downtown San Jose so no parking. Paid street parking only so take that into consideration your time of arrival. The shop has about 2-3 tiny tables (seat 1 each side but youre pushing it for 2) as its extremely cramp.Originally, I wanted to order just the spring rolls and spicy Hue noodle soup. I ended up ordering probably a weeks worth of take-out. In addition to the 2 items above, instead of the steam rice + entrée combo from the hot bar, I bought the entrée individually. Small round container is $6.00, large is $8.50 (I think)?.I got the braised lemongrass tofu, braised pickled Chinese mustard & tofu (this can be very spicy level) for the average person and lastly fried wonton (but they look and tasted more like goyza. This is a no frill, no thrill, tasty yet homey take-out vegetarian Vietnamese cuisine restaurant. Another vegetarian/vegan option for plant based dinners.

I was excited to try this place after placing delivery order and my food coming out decent for delivery and local to me. Mobile apps are usually a hit or miss and this one was smack dab in the middle. My take out portion was good so I thought maybe dining inside would be better.I wasnt really greeted but I was sat down right away. The dining set up reminds me of how I went to vietnamese restaurants when I grew up so they get points for nostalgia. Someone took my order and I ordered large pho. I was about to order coffee but then my server walked away right after. I had to call to the head cashier to put in my drink order. My pho came out SUPER quick, under 2 minutes. But my rare beef slices were already cooked before it got to my table. I have no idea how long it sat in broth but they were scarce and all well done floating inbetween the noodles and bottom. I honestly thought they gave me the wrong order. The meat balls were also scarce. They cut up the balls into quarters so I had one and a half meat ball if it was assembled together. I would probably stay away from the rare beef slice combo-anything. The portion was not there or even. Just stick with one meat to get a better quantity in your pho.The iced coffee, is very strong, BUT very small. Less than 8oz it looked like with light ice. Maybe 7oz? 6oz? Hard to tell. Some customers are rude, I can understand why they do quick service to get a flow of service rotation. Customers demanding to be sat at a booth when its either just a single person or when a table hasnt been bussed. I saw two people wait by a dirty table to get cleaned. I dont know if Customers know but other customers coming in that see that, will think the staff isnt doing their job. I saw the whole thing, that table barely left before the two stood next to it. If I had to deal with that I would probably give the same type of service as well. The door is open so its really drafty, wear something warm.

Dac Phuc

It is a bit of an exaggeration to say this hole in the wall restaurant on a busy corner in downtown San Jose CA with barely any parking a 5-star dining experience, but I am rating the food here excellent. I really like this place. The cold spring rolls, goi cuon, are excellent along with the sauce. The pho Vietnamese soup is the best I have tasted anywhere, especially the #2. The Vietnamese drip iced coffee is deliciously tasty and refreshing. Dac Phusc service is actually improving, but I would love not have to stand and deliver at the cashier and instead pay from my table. While the building itself looks cool, clean and modern from outside, the inside needs some attention, still it has a certain distressed charm. Nevertheless, this place is my go to place for Vietnamese food which I love and I drive the 30 minutes or so it takes to get there where I can to enjoy my favorite pho/soup. Dac Phuc has existed since the 1980s when I was a SJSU student, and there is a solid reason for its longevity, it is great. I think ingredients have suffered lately because of the skyrocketing costs for rent in the area but Dac Phucs pho and basil is really tasty good, the best. Someday I will have to ask where did they get such a crazy name?Oh, and I would be remiss if I did not mention the unpleasant restroom. I really should take a star or two off for that ... it is a disgrace. Take a hint Dac Phuc and do a remodel of your restroom please!

This place is not your family restaurant. This is a drinking hangout for Vietnamese OG. If you dont know what OG mean, you dont belong here. Regular customers keep this place in business, not something you just walk off the street and try. Customers service, LOL ??
