This is my favorite Pho place in the West Covina area. I have been coming here since I moved here in 2015 and my mom and I are grateful to have found it.First the location. This place sits in a plaza across the street from the West Covina mall and sits in the same plaza as a PetsMart. There is always parking here as this plaza rarely gets packed. The interior of this place is really traditional as there is hints of Vietnamese decor scattered throughout the walls. There is plenty of seating and the restaurant never gets to busy where you have to wait. The Pho here is by far one of the top 10 Ive had in my lifetime, and Ive had my fair share. The broth for their food is nicely seasoned, not to salty, and not not salty enough. There is also plenty of noodles and meat despite whatever size you get. I always get the large Pho Dac Biet as I love variety in my Pho. Ive had the opportunity to try their Boba Milk Tea a few times as they gave my mom and I a few samplers.

I was picking up a door dash order and my order was sitting on the counter. Everyone was busy and I get that, but I usually confirm with someone that works there and then grab my order and leave. I waited in line patiently because the workers took a while to help the people in front of me due to food prepping for other online orders. Looks like they were understaffed since there was only 2 at the front counter. I had seen my order with my name on it. Before grabbing it, I just wanted to confirm and it also had instructions with a sign on the table that says let an associate know and someone will help you. I didn't want to cut the front of the line, but luckily this lady that works there was going into the kitchen. I said, “excuse me” just to show her that I was picking up the order and she flung her hand at me as if to say “go away, fly” muttering under her breath, and continued to proceed into the kitchen. I was utterly shocked and said out loud “are you $%!*ing kidding me?” I immediately grabbed my food and left. Rude and ugly attitude. Never have I been so disrespected at a restaurant in my life. The pork chop with rice wasn't even as good as the Covina location. Gross and disgusting customer service! They should really re-hire people for staff. No wonder they have bad reviews and unfortunately I had seen the bad reviews last minute. Never going again!

Culantro & Basil Pho Bistro
2626 E Garvey Ave S Ste D, West Covina, CA 91791, United States
I’ve had this place about 5 times now and each times is very enjoyable! I spoke with an employee during their grand opening and the restaurant owners worked with another popular Vietnamese restaurant in the SGV called a golden Deli. Culantro is fresh and is picking up in traffic every time I stop by. Try their home made chili oil! It’s really good. We also tried their bitter days coffee and it takes like Oreo cookies and is easily shareable between 2 people. Haven’t tried something I don’t like yet!
Pho Ha Linh

Terrible. I cant believe they burned my combo fried rice and then gave it to me to take away. No shrimp included, either. Boring. The spring rolls were very plain and boring. Tasteless.Ive experienced most Vietnamese restaurants to be good or terrific. This place served the worst Vietnamese food weve ever had.

My favorite Vietnamese pork chop rice, this is the only restaurant in Southern California that is reasonably priced and has great service! The meals are hygienic ~ meatloaf, eggs, fried food, pork chops, and a bowl of simple clear soup is also included^_^This is a pork chop rice restaurant that will make you feel happy eating itAlso ordered a glass of real plum sodaThe taste is very special ~ I like its sour and salty tasteBut hopefully the tonkatsu I get will be this perfect every time! I need a lot of meat to supplement my protein
Quan Nem Ninh Hoa
973 S Glendora Ave, West Covina, CA 91790, United States
On the way to Yosemite, my family and I, we found this restaurant on TripAdvisor. This is a franchise restaurant of the original one in Socal (West Covina) that my family and I, we were patrons. Compare to the one in Socal, this restaurant has the same delicious taste, same trimmings, but, better service. Must try Nem nướng (Grilled pork in skewer), their sauce is the bomb. Very authentic. Dont forget to try the Vietnamese coffee. Its to die for. Lol. So crowded on Sunday. Come in early or you have to wait.
BYOB A Boba Company
963 S Glendora Ave, West Covina, CA 91790, United States
Ive tried BYOB twice now, and both time Ive left feeling underwhelmed. BYOB is different from other boba shops in that you are able to customize your own drinks and toppings from a variety of assortments if you dont want to order a drink off of their menu.Upon first glance, it is quite overwhelming as there are teas, toppings, flavors, drizzles you can customize into your drink. The workers are very quick to give you a hand and take you through the process, especially if its your first time at BYOB. Basically pick a size, if you want it blended or shaken, with tea, milk, flavor ... any drizzles, and then fill it up with toppings! The first time I tried BYOB, I ordered an almond milk tea and added boba, almond pudding, and egg pudding to my drink. I really like boba and pudding, and I can definitely drink a large amount of toppings, so I asked the worker to pack my cup! There wasnt a set price on customizing my drink, and since I had ordered almond milk tea, I was able to get the drink priced as something off of their milk tea menu. The drink was pretty good, but nowhere near quality tea. I feel like the almond tea tasted pre-made, sweet with artificial almond flavor. The boba and pudding were good, but nothing too memorable. My friends ordered random drinks and they all thought their drinks were pretty good. I tried the Orange Blossom, almond Hokkaido milk tea ... they were okay, but a little too artificial tasting. Overall, it was a very interesting experience being able to order whatever we wanted. My friend even told the worker she liked grapefruit, and he was able to whip up something that she really liked. The second time I returned, I tried their Lost at Sea creation, a sea salt green tea, with boba. I had wanted to get the almond milk tea again, but I guess the prices have changed since Ive been, and making my own drink cost way more than trying a creation of BYOBs. Lost at Sea wasnt a bad drink, but it definitely wasnt a good one that Id get again. It tasted sweet, but didnt have any tea flavor. Boba was nice and chewy, but the drink itself was really bad.BYOB is also known for remaking drinks if youre unsatisfied with the taste. (A good thing, but what happens to all those drinks people dont like!) Unfortunately I was in a rush and couldnt fix my drink. Overall, its a good concept if youre into building your own drinks and whatnot, but I prefer drinking boba that has good quality tea alongside of it.
