The premium beef noodle soup I got was a solid 2. I wanted to like the place more but there were too many factors making me dislike it. The meat offerings were alright and fair, and tripe is not always offered which was nice. However one of the tendons was still cold on the inside which was unfortunate. There were also two noodle clumps that were not separated properly, or at all during cooking which really sucked. As for the broth, I personally like things a but saltier/spicy but regardless I thought it was alright. It was not super rich, but I wont say it lacked flavor.. maybe just complexity? I also didnt find it spicy at all, but no mind I just added some more chili oil myself.If everything was hot + unclumped Id give this bowl a 3 star. The reason Im currently rating this place a 3 is because the service was great and I didnt have any issues with that. I will say though, at the price point (20$ OTD tax/tip/service fee; which I understand is likely going to be the same in many places) I would probably not order it again. Just didnt seem worth it for a 3 star bowl.

I have always enjoyed their beef noodle before. I was delighted that the owner has improved their beef noodle soup so that it is even better than before (soup is even tastier; noodle is chewier-due freshly made noodles!). I know people has different style n taste preferences, but this is definitely one of my favorites n I highly recommend this dish to try!

I ordered the House Beef Noodle Soup, and the meal is so flavorful and delicious it made me come back for more whenever i stopped by Arcadia.The Food: The beef noodle soup bowl consists of noodles, braised beef, vegetable leaf, and the soup contains chili oil and some other flavors. When you start off with the noodles, the texture is a good balance of not hard nor soggy. Its soft and chewy. The beef is very savory. When you bite the meat, its soft and easily melt in your mouth. Also, the beef doesnt contain a lot of fat, which is a good thing. I like eating the meat because it gives a sweet spice aroma and its warm.The atmosphere is nice and quiet. You have the view of the busy street to view while enjoying your meal. Parking is available, but its small. The restroom is outside the corner of the restraunt.Service: The restraunt also take orders thru food apps and phone orders.Conclusion: i give this a 5 star because this place is one of the best beef noodle soup restraunt in the SGV. If youre coming to the SGV or near Arcadia, i suggest you visit this place and give it a taste. You wont be disappointed.

This is a nice place for Beef Noodle Soup. I got their #1 House Beef Soup and the meat was tender and flavorful. Also I highly recommend the Mango Smoothie for a drink. The owner was friendly and theres free parking in lot outside.

Went into this place with my family and my friends around 3:00 p.m. We were the only people in the store. They graciously closed the door and turned on the air conditioning.We ordered beef noodle soup, steamed dumplings, pan fried dumplings, sauteed spinach, beef roll.Beef noodle soup was delicious. There were plenty of noodles to share with four adults so everyone could get a taste.Beef roll was soft and they use cucumbers within.Sauteed spinach had a delicious flavorThey charge about a 3% service fee if you use credit card.Im very grateful that we discovered this place today. Most other stores were closed at this time.

The niu rou mian (Taiwanese beef noodle soup) is utterly fantastic. The broth is rich and delicious, with just the right amount of spice. The noodle portion was enormous, and the beef was melt in your mouth tender. I will definitely be going back to 88 Beef Noodle. What a wonderfully comforting meal on a cold day.

Takes some time for your order to come, but worth it (the pictures speak for themselves).2022 edit: I have yet to find a better beef noodle shop in the area. While I now try to avoid consuming meat, I still occasionally remember how good the noodle soup is here.

I understand this is a mom and pop shop so I am not trying to be mean or anything. But I tried this place due to the reviews and the beef noodle soup was so salty, the saltiness was so overwhelming I ended up throwing it away. Its as of someone dumped half a canister of salt.... thats how salty it was. I tried to rinse out the saltiness by pouring out the broth and adding water but the noodles were super salty as well. I dont like to waste food and my food history has some quite unpalatable dishes. Im not sure if it was an off day or the cook was stressed out? When I went to get my food there was another party of 3 at around 2-3 pm in the afternoon. Most of the reviews kept talking about authentic taste and everything but I dont think so unless its supposed to be this salty?I also ordered the 5 spice dish.... its less salty than the beef noodle soup. But still salty as well and the portion size is very small about 5-6 slices. Same for the beef tendon dish.Ill give them a star for actually responding to online orders and letting you know when you can pickup your food. Some places you literally have to guess...

This is my favorite traditional Taiwanese beef noodle in the area - my favorite interpretation goes to Mandarin Deli but for a traditional hot bowl of good broth, noodles, and beef? 88 all the way.Getting here:Easily seen from Baldwin Ave, 88 Beef Noodle is in its own small building in a parking lot shared with others. There are a few 30-minute spots right in front for easy pick up but usually we can wrangle a spot elsewhere.Ambiance:The owner lady is usually around or maybe chilling at a table, and she greets and seats you immediately - usually no wait! Tables and seats fairly starkly modern, a counter area for take-out pickups on your right and glass all around; tables stocked with sauces and utensils. Pretty straightforward spot and not particularly romantic or anything.Food/Drink:88 Noodle delivers on comfort food thats well-seasoned and with good portions.Beef Noodle Soup: The #4 spicy half beef half tendon noodle soup is my usual order; greens, a scattering of green onions on top, and a deep and savory broth with noodles (very Q/toothsome/springy) and soft tendons and very meaty flavored beef chunks. Not served with pickled veggies but it doesnt need it - I love strong flavors and this soup is wonderful. Price is higher than competitors but with the quality and quantity of beef and noodles, I think worth it.The watermelon drink is very refreshing during hot summers (I believe they do not have A/C and leave the door open for a breeze for hot days).Shoutout to the hot pot too! We tried Pickled Hot Pot which is made with pickled veggies - we missed this traditional taste from Taiwan and wanted to see how they made it. Oh man. The lady comes by with a covered metal bowl with a flame underneath, and boom that nostalgic scent of pickled veggies - and the broth is STRONG and SOUR which is unabashedly what we were looking for. Excellent Excellent. Even with all of the toppings, that level of flavor makes sure every bite is still worth savoring without your palate tiring of it.So far anything weve ordered has been excellent. Oxtail noodles - great, with similar strong depth of flavor. Fried noodles (#8)? Lots of toppings and seasoned well. Fried rice (#17)? Same deal.Service:The owner lady is friendly - as with many local/hole in the wall type eateries its pretty relaxed here and you dont feel rushed. The first time we came here we were slightly amused at how she loudly announced our orders to the kitchen - just part of the experience :) will be coming back as usual, again and again.

The only good thing I can say about the meal I had at this place is the company. We went here to have lunch with good friends. The service was terrible, the girl served our food right in front of one of the guests at the table and this guest was responsible for sending it further down. The food was not worth the price, noodles were way overcooked. In case you need to use the restroom, make sure you bring toilet paper with you and the paper towel before heading out there. I will not be coming back.

Good portion size and decent food. It’s not one of the better noodles bowls I’ve had but it’s still pretty tasty. I like that the restaurant is a small local business and I’m always down to support such an establishment. I got the premium beef bowl, which looked very similar to a 1/2 tendon 1/2 beef bowl and the house special. I think the difference is just the meat type. For the appetizer, I ordered the roasted eggs. Honestly, it was really pricey ($3.95) for just a couple of eggs.It wasn’t until after I left the restaurant that I realized the lady at the counter miscalculated the bill. It’s not a big deal but it’s also not a good feeling to know that you unnecessarily paid an extra buck or two on top of the tip.

I went to 88 Beef Noodle for lunch during a very cold and rainy day. I walked in and it was this tiny little restaurant with maybe five or six tables. There is one woman working there pretty much doing everything. She was the waitress, she was the cashier, she was the hostess, and she was the cook. I asked her what was the most popular thing on the menu and she said the house special beef noodle. I said okay Ill take that, and some spicy wontons please. It took about 10 minutes till the food came out. I tried the spicy wonton first so I can let the beef noodle soup cool down a bit. The spicy wontons were very good. I couldnt wait to dig into the beef noodle soup. It had lots of noodles and big chunks of beef and it was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back to this place for sure. The lady working there was extremely nice and very friendly. The service was good, the price was fair and the food was great.

Best beef noodle soup around the area with quick, excellent service. The broth is served tasty and super hot. The way it was meant to be. The noodles were done right. Firm not soggy or mushy. The beef itself was flavorful although lacking somewhat in quantity. They also could have made up for this minor shortcoming by loading up the bowl with veggies. Overall, you will definitely find me frequenting this establishment again with my face in a steaming bowl of soup noodles.

I’ve searched low and high for a good dish of pork feet ever since one of my favorite Taiwanese restaurants closed down.This is so far the best restaurant in the SGV for pork feet. Tender and to the point!Their beef noodle is good too.Service is fast since the restaurant is relatively small.

Omg the food is so damm good, but on three different times my wife found orange ish hair in her food, fist time we let it slide, second time they gave us a new plate free of charge, but the third time the lady who served us went to the back and called the cook, who was a lil old lady with her hair deyed orange, that was the last time we went to eat there, I miss the good food but my wife wont go there anymore... The cook should use a hair net, miss this place!

I really recommend it, its very delicious. I saw other reviews saying it was expensive, but when I went to the store and saw the menu, it was actually not expensive at all, very affordable! There are so many and huge pieces of beef, and the portion of noodles is also huge! Juices are also freshly squeezed!

I just sat down and read the first comment. Some people said that they ate small cockroaches and immediately didnt want to eat it. It is unbelievable that there is actually a worm in the noodles served. It is really disgusting. I ordered half-meat and half-gluten noodles. The taste of the gluten has a strange sour taste, which is obviously not fresh. When I saw the insects, I felt nauseous and wanted to vomit.
