Ramen Yukinoya
1423 S Baldwin Ave, Arcadia, CA 91007, United States
I love noodles, but I havent delved too heavily into ramen until now! The boyfriend has been going through ramen cravings, so whenever hes hit with an insatiable appetite, Im there for the adventure. We had to run some errands in El Monte, but he wanted to try this spot out. We drove to a small plaza after passing through a quaint neighborhood, but it was surprising to find this shop bustling with patrons even at 1pm.We were about 5th on the list, but the service moves quick and we were seated after 30 minutes. If you need to pass some time, they are located on a Gym and there are Pokestops at the Sprint store. Theres also half n half next door if you want to sip on something while you wait. Once seated, you are given menus. Menu is quite simple - shoyu, miso, tonkotsu broth. It was our first time, so we went the whole nine yards. I got the Tonkotsu Red (spicy tonkotsu) and the bf got shoyu (soy sauce). Hes finally got his favorite broth on dial, so he was elated about not ordering the wrong thing. We ordered up with a combo - he got the fried rice and extra noodles while I kept it tame with gyoza. Portions were massive btw. Noodle to broth ratio is 2:1, so ordering extra noodles may be a bit overkill unless you have the capacity to contain it. Gyoza had a nice crisp on the bottom and the rice had to be packed to go, but it tasted amazing the day after. We returned again a few weeks ago for an early lunch. There was no wait and the shop was relatively quiet. Service was still as speedy as ever! BF got the usual and I decided to try the Tonkotsu White, which is the base for most. The broth was milky and a bit fatty, but the top didnt coagulate over time so its not thaaaaat fatty. It had silky mouthfeel, but I felt it was a bit salty. Fortunately, I crushed some marinated garlic in the bowl for some balance and flavor and it brought some new dimensions. What a game changer. Its a bit of a drive, but its nice to come through every now and then. I learned that I prefer the quality of the broth over noodles, but bf likes the fact its a lot of food on the cheap. Either way, we both left satisfactory and beyond full with some leftovers to take home.
88 Beef Noodle

Takes some time for your order to come, but worth it (the pictures speak for themselves).2022 edit: I have yet to find a better beef noodle shop in the area. While I now try to avoid consuming meat, I still occasionally remember how good the noodle soup is here.

This is a Low-Key Very AWESOME Local Thai Spot serving the South Eastern part of Arcadia City. This Beautiful Thai Lady here aims to please every customer. Outstanding Customer Service! Thoughtful, Not Cheap, Always Friendly, Sincere & Helpful. One of My Main Points for me while Eating Out or Dining-In is CUSTOMER SERVICE. This IS The Service Industry after all, concerning Restaurants and Service.Mind you, Ive read some of the other reviews here and I did not experience what others have claimed.Every single entree item that I have had on their menu has been pretty BOMB! Just Bursting with Flavors so I assume that they dont skimp out on ingredients as many Thai Restaurants do in America. Thai Food loses its Authentic Flavor when Thai Restaurants dont use every ingredient required in Thai Cooking.Today, I went with a Kra-Pow Chicken with Eggs over Rice and a Thai Tea, TO GO. (Pork is usually always the best choice of meat for this dish at any Thai Restaurant but, I stopped eating Pork recently)MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK HERE!!!!!This Place is clean, spacious, with plenty of natural light here, lots of Parking out back. Decent Restrooms.I believe on weekends, they have someone outside on the sidewalk dancing in a giant Transformer costume with bright lights. It definitely gets attention from passing traffic, lol. They have a quirky technique of calling people back right away if they dont answer the phone, when calling-in an order for Pick Up.ENJOY!!! ?

The braised beef in this braised beef noodle shop is not as delicious as the one in Arcadia.
Kai Ramen Arcadia
1130 S Baldwin Ave # 6, Arcadia, CA 91007, United States
If youre looking for a comforting bowl of noodle soup, I highly recommend Kai Ramen.Food: They have a variety of different ramen to choose from, and my bf and I chose 2 yummy ones. Their Kai Yellow with cheese is sooooo yum! It is my favorite because it has 1. Cheese, 2. A thick broth that is spicy, 3. Thick noodles, and 4. No bean sprouts.Service: Their service is impeccable. There was only one server when I was there and even though he waited the whole shop basically, he was attentive. In addition, there were many people in there on a Wednesday night. The vibes were chill and enjoyable which was great.Parking: Its free (because its outside of LA) We easily found parking on a Wednesday night, but I wouldnt be surprised if it was difficult to find a parking spot on the weekend.IG: @epfoodventures

This place was recommended by some Chinese foodie group and I decided to check it out since people were suggesting it. Well, food is affordable thats for sure. But heres the breakdown. It looks like the restaurant may be still in soft opening stage? There were boxes and stocks everywhere, that leads me to think theyre not quite ready for opening? With that said atmosphere and ambience is near hit a it seems more mom and pop shop.Service was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. But then again, we were the only customer ?My friend order the braised beef combo rice (牛腩飯). Its a tad on the sweeter side but tasty. Beef was very tender and not chewy, the tendon was well cooked but still got a bounce. Thats some talent.I ordered the crispy duck which was a miss. The duck was dry, way too salty. But then again I like the Peking or HK style roast duck with moist tender meat, a bit of fat and crispy skin. This crispy duck felt like an old leftover duck thats been deep fried to be refreshed for service.I also ordered the pan fried bun (生煎包). Thats just say you pay for what you get. It looks fine but its doughy, meat is dry, no juice flows out when you bite into it. I was given a very little vinegar, which is ok as I have a giant bottle stocked at home.Overall, braised beef rice is good. But Im not a fan of the crispy duck nor the pan fried bun. If Im in the neighborhood, I would only return if I were to crave for the braised beef rice. But then again, Ive had amazing braised beef elsewhere.

I have been coming to here when I am craving for a sandwich or ingredients for tiramisu. The deli section is well organized. Customers need to pick a number in order to be served. I always get great grandpa joe, and it has never disappointed me. Sandwich might be a bit on the pricy side, but the quality of meat is great! I am willing to pay more for this quality.Staff was very friendly and helpful. I witnessed an incident how a staff took care of a not so pleasant situation. A staff was assisting a customer with bake goods. The customer wanted to purchase some cookies. When the staff used a tong to pick up the cookies. The customer said it out loud (loud that the whole store can hear her) that “did you wash your hands?” I found that pretty rude. I worked in the food industry that we all required to wash our hands before handling food. Plus, some of us even went to school for learning all these rules. The staff was super professional and maintain his calm by informing the customers that he washed his hands before handling her food. Good job staff! There was plenty of parking spots in the back. Parking is not an issue.
Kazu Mori
Inside H Mart, 1101 W Huntington Dr, Arcadia, CA 91007, United States
Located inside H Mart grocery store, Kazu Nori is truly a hidden gem. They serve various types of katsu and curry katsu in generous portions at a very affordable price. Kazu Nori has quickly become one of my go to food spots and I find myself going there quite frequentlyFOOD:What I Ordered: Cheese Katsu, Curry PorkCheese Katsu: Seeing pictures of the cheese katsu on the menu, I knew I had to try it. Mozzarella cheese wrapped in a thin layer of pork katsu, what more could you want This dish is made for a true cheese lover as its probably 80% mozzarella cheese, so be prepared for a cheese overload if youre planning to try this dish!Curry Pork: I was really excited to try the Curry Pork. Curry katsu is one of my favorite comfort foods and this place definitely fulfilled my cravings! I love how they package the curry on the side so that the pork stays nice and crispy! The curry is super flavorful and the pork is juicy and crispy. The perfect combination. When I received my food I had no idea how big the portions would be, especially for the curry pork. The curry pork was packed full of delicious pork katsu. Each meal comes with cabbage salad, miso soup, and rice. Talk about making your moneys worthLOCATION:This location of place is so perfect because you could go to H-Mart, place your order at Kazu Nori, do a bit of grocery shopping/ just explore the market, and come back to pick up your food once its done! XIANG JI
411 E Huntington Dr #101D, Arcadia, CA 91006, United States
Good Taiwanese beef noodle. Its different from the one youll get from the Chinese noodle shop next door, but it has more herb flavor, milder, and less spicy. The soup can be a little hotter but not a big problem. Due to the enormous fridge and stock in the dining place, the atmosphere isnt the best but its not unusual to see that in a Asian restaurant.
