HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Dirty dishes on the table for use. As you can see in the pictures, there was 2 grains of rice on it. When I lifted the bottom, a few rice was smeared on the table. When I asked for new plates, they didn’t even clean it. The egg rolls were brought out and it was cold in temperature. I told the waiter and he got fresh ones made. The manager came to my table to apologize and I informed and showed him pictures of the table and plates, he did nothing to clean it either. So beware when you dine in. Check your dishes, glasses, silverware for cleanliness. I don’t recommend this location. Try El Dorado Hills.

The atmosphere was lovely. Open, light and spacious. We went for lunch and there wasn’t a wait early, but by the time we left there was a ten minute wait for tables.The server was polite and efficient and other staff were also attentive.We shared four dishes and they were all fantastic.Pork fried rice was good. The Szchuan Garden with shrimp was spicy and delicious. Cashew chicken was flavorful (the chicken is lightly breaded, so be sure to ask, if you have gluten intolerance) and the Kung Pao chicken was very flavorful with a nice kick!We will definitely eat there again.The price was a little high, but within range of any good restaurant these days.

Ordered steak q Always been a favorite. Was a take out. Brought it home- so incredibly salty I couldn’t eat it!!! Overall food tastes delicious. Ambience is good. Appetizers are must try. Lettuce wraps can be better. Portions are considerably good. Food is served hot. Just inform the staff if you want dishes to be served one after other. If not, they bring in all your orders at once.

This was our first time there, but my wife and I wanted to try it out, since we always talked about it, but never had the chance. And I was truly impressed. The ambiance was very nice and serene, and not because there was a huge Buddha in the middle of the restaurant, but because it was not overly loud, the lighting was just right, and the service was great. The food was also great too. Most of our dishes were not salty and super yummy. The ribs we had were a bit salty and hard, but otherwise not too bad. The Thai Seafood bowl was yummy, as well as our other dishes. Wasnt too impressed with the wonton soup bowl though. Ive had better. Prices were a bit high, but worth it. I highly recommend going here at least once if you are here in town. You definitely will not regret it.

We went for my husband’s birthday with his family and our baby. I had made a reservation for 7 before we came and we were seated immediately and got a nice large, semi secluded table away from other diners which gave me relief in case our baby started crying, I didn’t want to disturb the other diners. Our server, Andrew I believe his name is, was super nice and very professional and welcoming. The food came out super fast but we never felt rushed. It was such a great experience!! And our server brought out a piece of banana cream pie for my husband :)

Great food! The raspberry lemon drop was the best cocktail I have ever had. Our food came out quick! Our reservation was for 5pm and we got to our car at 5:55 pm! I also love that Buddha! Its so cool to have this gem so close to home.

We have been coming here for years. The food has always been good. But now every time we come the portions get smaller. We just left the restaurant and there was four of us. The portions were for 2 people . We order 4 different foods and we all went away hungry. We probably wont go back. The prices have all gone up which we dont mind but this is ridiculous on portions.

Very disappointed in the food. The general tso was either cooked too long or was prepared before hand. The vegetable fried rice was not like it use to be. Food quality has gone down, but prices up. Maybe I should have dined in instead? Shouldnt make a difference. It will be a while before I go back again, if then.

Love this place! We came for my son and fiancé’s engagement dinner. As soon as you walk in, you’ll be in awe. There’s a magnificent golden statue of Buddha and live palm trees in the center of the restaurant. The food is as delicious as the atmosphere. And the staff was very friendly. The cost of a family style dinner was also very affordable. Perfect for special occasions, date night, family night, girls night or just stopping in for delicious food.

On April 21, 2023. I had a wonderful business meal with a friend and client at the Folsom location. The place was beautiful, clean, elegant and offered a menu of Asian fusion that was delightful. The server was completely tentative. The glasses were always full and more importantly, the food was made to order, I enjoyed it so much I ordered Chinese chicken salad to go to share with my wife. It is nice to know at the quality of service was equal and plentiful. I will be back and I highly recommend this restaurant for business or pleasure.

The head chef is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They provided us with high quality food and dessert. Don’t get me started on Tyler! He is such a great server and carries himself with such great professionalism. I highly recommend this place for great food and great service! Unfortunately, I was unimpressed with the food this visit. The shareable portion of KungPow chicken was 50% onions. To most, it might not be an issue, but the ingredient wasnt listed in the menu. After removing the onions, it was almost a single portion size.The garlic noodles didnt taste like garlic at all. In fact, neither myself nor my companion could ascertain what the predominant flavor was.Service and decor are above average. Maybe it was just bad night.

Absolutely amazing place!! I have been to this restaurant many times, and each time my experience gets even better! The servers are well educated about their menu and drinks, the hostesses always make sure to greet every guest with a warm smile and a greeting. Takeout is always fast and easy! This restaurant is just beautiful and the atmosphere is unmatched. The food is just divine as well, my personal favorite entrees are the chicken chow mein and honey walnut prawns. Don’t even get me started on the starters- I could eat all of those for days. You can just tell everyone enjoys working here and management is great. 10/10 Recommend!

Another successful date night shared with my amazing lady. We/she choose Fats for our date night and a celebratory dinner. Hadnt been there in quite a while, but the fairly full parking lot at a relatively early hour reminded us how popular Fats still is after all these years. We were also quickly reminded of the comfortable upscale atmosphere and attentiveness of the staff when we came through the door. We were immediately greeted and choose to sit at a high top on the bar area. Our server engaged with us promptly, provided the happy hour and regular menu and got our drink order. He returned pretty quickly with our drinks, giving us just enough time to make our dinner selections. The happy hour menu had a pretty good selection of appetizers, food and drinks at reasonable happy hour prices. The main menu is full of a wide variety of delicious Asian options. Over all our food, drinks, service and Fats atmosphere are top notch!

Went to Fats to celebrate a family birthday. As always, the serving staff was awesome. Kristina was again our server and was tremendous - made our experience that much better. Food was delicious. Had honey walnut prawns, pork fried rice, chicken chow mein & a spicy beef plate. After several visits, I have to say the fried rice is a little salty - this from someone who likes salt in everything. The honey walnut prawns were a little dry and not a large portion for the price. But, overall a great meal and experience. The only reason I cant give 5 stars, is the staff at the front. I was the first to arrive of our group. Not only did neither of the young ladies standing there acknowledge me, but even when after a few minutes I stepped into the dining area to see if others from my group was already there and went back to the waiting area, they still did not say a word to me. When another of our group arrived, he was not greeted or acknowledged either. As he approached the staff to request a table, they were so busy talking to each other they didnt even look up until he was right in front of them. Luckily, I dont think this is the norm for Fats.

Great food really good drinks, come over a few times for lunch and dinner but today I got really disappointed wanted to plan my wife’s birthday for next Saturday and the waitress girl asked me to wait to talk to the manager. I wait about 20 minutes until I find out the manager was the other girl walking around and did not have time to talk to me so they asked me to come back another day to make the reservation really disappointing that they don’t have 2 or 3 minutes to talk to me about the reservation for a party of 25 to 30 people….. thank you for your help. You just lost a customer.

Went to FATS for my wifes birthday dinner. The Garlic noodles were like eating pasta without any taste or character. Noodles were garnished with parmesan cheese...... that was off putting from a taste standpoint. The chicken dish we ordered was below average..... just no taste and was sub par. I have eaten better meals here on earlier visits... however over the last couple of visits the quality has steadily going down. My Bestie took me to to Fats for my birthday! Its a beautiful restaurant! The services was outstanding; each staff member was so friendly & helpful! Their attitudes make the atmosphere 5 star! Good food, but the service is horrible. Never picked up the phone for takeout order (2 days in a row). Finally had to go went inside the restaurant to place pickup order. Manager did give me a modest discount but once I got home, found out items from my order were missing! Called Manager and he did not seem too concerned or helpful. They obviously don’t care about return customers, so I won’t be going to Folsom Frank Fats again — too much of a hassle!

I dont like to write bad reviews but tonight really took the cake. Took my family out for dinner to this establishment cause the family wanted to eat here. Worst decision in months. To be honest....I have eaten at smaller class Chinese restaurants that had better service and food that this establishment can offer here. They could care less of how much you wait for your food to eat and after you eat. After eating we asked for to go boxes, 15 minutes later still no to go box but our waiter was next to our table and was just talking away with another patron. I decided to go to the front desk and ask for a to go box and was given it in 1 minute. My bill was almost $200 and dont mind one bit of how much it cost. I was so tempted to leave ZERO tip but I did not so I left a $40 dollar tip even though the service was unacceptable. If you want to eat Chinese food go elsewhere. Food and service is not the best. Never again and I will for sure tell my friends of our experience here so they know what not to expect through this establishment. Worst place you can eat for sure.

Went for my birthday tonight. We ordered 6 entrees and rice. It was 5:30, and one of our entrees was brought out to us at least 15 minutes after we got our first dish. The waitress apologized but in my opinion she should of not charged us for the last entree.I used the ladies room on our way out and it was disgustingly dirty. Trash can over filled, supplies on a shelf with a bottle turned over, and trash on the ground.I always considered Fat’s a nice restaurant but no longer feel that way. BTW, you asked then why did you go there?….it was the only restaurant we could get a reservation. Now, I know why.

This review is for the food only. No reviews for service as this was take out.I used to really love this place. When it first opened it had some of the best Asian food I had had in a while. Their imperial pork fried rice was amazing and their chow mein was different and just very flavorful. Im not sure what has happened, but over the years the food standards have declined greatly. I ordered takeout a couple days ago and the amount of salt on EVERYTHING was just too much to handle. The intricate flavors were lost and instead replaced with salt. Its unfortunate and I probably wont be returning for a very long time. I want to give this place another chance, but it will be difficult. Please bring back the old recipes and cooking styles as the rice was the best I have ever had.

Took my husband to Fats for his birthday dinner. We had the worst service tonight. We’ve been coming here for over 10 years. We sat on the patio of course due to Covid. Wasn’t that busy. Service was extraordinary, we had a reservation and did not have to wait we were immediately seated, my friend had broken her ankle and they took her little cart and hid it away somewhere so it wasnt in the way and they were totally gracious and volunteered to take it, drinks were wonderful they have a amazing happy hour. I finally made it out Fats in Folsom Ca. One of the last places to open up after Covid-19. To be honest Chinese food locations are hard to come by now a days. Back in the 90’s Chinese places seemed to be open like Sushi and Thai places now a days. For Chinese food this place is pricy. The Dim Sum is amazing and addicting. Its been better, both in food and service. It was a Saturday and the place was pretty empty as we arrived at 615 for our 630 reservation. When we told the bartender we didnt need menus as we had a reservation he acknowledged us and walked away...guess we dont get a pre-dinner cocktail! We remained and when a second bartender came over we were able to order cocktails from her. During our meal, we sat in the outer dining room; the service staff began to close the area by putting the chairs upside down on the adjacent tables as if they planned to close soon (again its 7pm on a Saturday). Very good food. We went for a night out and had a good time. The Peiking duck was very good as well as the lumpia. It was very busy and they DO take reservations. We had one and we were seated within a couple minutes of arriving. I would go back. I really like the palm trees with lights on them in the restaurant and the fountains outside. The caveat on the service was it was super slow but understandable because of the amount of people she was serving. They seemed to be either out of or running low on a number of drinks we requested. Ive been to Fats Asia Bistro twice. The first time was for my birthday dinner with fiends, and while the food and experience were great, I wouldnt take the time to write a review. I called in ahead of time as I do with most restaurants to ask where the beef is sourced from. I do this because we have special dietary restrictions and certain farms cater to that. He even said he would tack on a note to our reservation so our server would know.Upon entering Fats we were greeted by the Nicest manager (Morgan) who said she would come by later to talk to us about something special the chef did for us.Later she came by to tell us (customized menu in hand) that chef Dan had not only listed what dishes met our dietary restriction on the sheet, he has also prepared meat from the local farm separately so we could choose any item and have it substituted with that beef! We were blown away!!!!We ordered crab Rangoons, shrimp dumplings (another special order) the Genghis beef, and the imperial rice. We topped it off with banana cream pie, the flourless chocolate cake and coffee. Every. Single. Item was delicious. The beef was tender through and through and we could tell it was a quality cut. Our server was lovely and attentive (I am so sorry I am forgetting your name as I type this ) and the ambiance was perfect. Good food, poor service. When we arrived the hostess asked if we would be Done by 6pm because they had another reservation. We waited over 15min then finally asked for a server. No one ever came by to get our drinks or anything. When the food was brought to the table the server cleared my husbands Clean silverware. I said something and his response was “oh I thought no one was there”. He had stepped out to take our child to the restroom. Then he said he would bring back New silverware and Never did. We recently stopped and ordered take out for lunch for a family members birthday. Not cheap, which is fine and expected, but we all were very disappointed with the food. The main thing being we received no condiments, they ones that are necessary when eattibg this type of food. No soy sauce, and more importantly no oyster sauce to go with chicken lettuce cups. We also asked for white rice no edamame, and got edamame and no white rice. It was just a lot considering the cost. If it has been a local mom and pops place I wouldnt have cared as much. I guess Ive expected more the more you pay. Very disappointing experience. No more take out for us.

Even though this is not a sushi bar, they have some of the best sushi ever, and all around some of the best Asian food and desserts. You can sometimes get gift cards worth $100 for about $80 at local Costco too. Love this restaurant, very nice atmosphere and great service.

Outstanding Dim Sum, the Peking Duck was great and the fried noodles were amazing. My favorite of the night was the Creme Brulee. Nice place, great food but just be prepared for the bill because its on the expensive side.

But when it came to desert for 2 birthday people only one banana cream pie came and the 3 coffees were less than Luke warm when asked for hot coffee Linda said tat toffee would be cold, with no explanation. In fact it was cold! The coffee should have been at least microwaved. That almost spoiled the dinner. Will write a letter to the gompany.

I had the worst service ever today. I waited for 15 minutes for my server to bring sweetner for my ice tea. I finally went up to the hostess to get the sweetner. The server still didnt even know I went and got it myself. The server and the manager where just talking away and ignored us. The couple sitting next to never got their tea at all they had to ask the bus boy. I always make a trip here when I come to visit Sacramento. The bathrooms were dirty also. The food was delicious but I will never come back to this restaurant in Folsom. I guess its back to the Fats downtown.

Review: Asian Bistro FATS in Folsom/Dont Go There!Their Pan noodles were tasteless and not cooked enough. I couldnt get our waitress the entire night.She delivered one drink and the other wait staff covered everything else. We were a party of 3 that paid 200 dollars for our meal. I personally ordered the Szechuan Beef which the chef was supposed to: toss beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, crushed red pepper and garlic in non-metal bowl. Cover and refrigerate 20 minutes. Heat oil in wok or large skillet over high heat. Stir fry beef until no longer pink, 5 minutes.He kept dipping my Szechuan beef into flour or the corn starch and frying it!!! What tha hell? I had a waiter that wasnt even designated to wait our section take it back and explain to the chef I dont want my beef dipped and fried. A female hostess brought back a second and it was again dipped and fried. The whole experience was turning bad. I contacted a manager and she is a night manager on Sunday so shes lucky I forget her name but Ive seen more personality from a storage drain.She was very cold and non professional. She did nothing about the waitress that would never come to the table so I simply said take this beef back and well take it to go. Again! I told her personally not to dip and fry my beef.Thats not how you make Szechuan Beef. The corn starch goes a little in the gravy part but you never dip your beef and fry it in that dish. Un Freaking believable!!! The to-go Szechuan Beef was again dipped in flour and fried. My mother is disabled and reaching for rice she accidentally spilled my 50 dollar drink.It was full. You better believe she wouldnt replace my beverage.That manager never even offered napkins! She was rude and she made excuses as if my sister and I were retarded. Were in our 40s BTW. Horrible! Panda Express has better Chinese Food. This food is so over priced one can only wonder but if the chef cant even prepare something simple or listen to detail on top of rude staff members then who needs to spend 200 dollars for food that worse than fast food. Has anyone ever experienced prejudice from this place? We visited to attend a conference in the area. We look very hispanic I guess because we asked to be seated in a booth and the young girl at the front told us the none was available. I asked about an empty one towards the back and she said it was reserved. I told her we would wait and she ask me to hold on and went to go talk to someone, she came back and said we can sit there. I couldn’t believe it!! I asked her if we would have to leave at a certain time and she said no she will sit the people somewhere else. I MEAN, WHAATT?!?! Yup!! Everything taste good, except the amount of chicken in the Kung Pao dish was severely lacking. Not to mention the overall size of the dish was lacking compared to what you get when you dine in. I literally travel thousands of miles to come back to eat here. This is the best Chinese Ive ever had. The closest I can come is Debby Wongs in El Dorado Hills.This has a very PF Changs vibe to it. The interior of this location is spectacular. The photos of the Buddha on here do not do it justice. The trees are palms that have been hallowed out and mummified. Quite spectacular.The food is top notch. 👌 The honey Walnut shrimp are phenomenal. A must, and if you come on a Tuesday, they are on happy hour.. Just a thought. The lomein (here called chow mein)is so light and delicious, it is like none youve ever had. The veggies are about primavera and the sauce, light and fresh.Their white rice is made with some of the finest Jasmine rice and is served hot and fluffy.Their general taos is wonderful and their Mongolian beef is delightful. For vegetarian options try their tofu.Their bar menu is extensive and has a wine to pair with any meal.Its always such a pleasure coming back. The salt and pepper chicken on the starter menu is excellent!!! Its enough for a meal actually. Highly recommend....seasoned just right, not overly salty or peppered.
