2023-12-01 03:24:28We ordered roti paratha with vegetarian curry dip and vegan curry puff. Both were good in taste. They also have plenty of veg options. However, the food was cold even after taking so long to serve the food. The puff wasnt crispy and the paratha wasnt evenly cooked. But it was worth the price. I might go again if no other veg option is available in the farmers market.

2023-12-03 04:52:31We went to the farmers market to try a new international dish, we are glad we visited Banana Leaf. When we went the cashier had great customer service, and offered us great advice on what to get. He also recommended we eat our meal to see how hungry we still are after eating before trying the dessert, as the dessert is large and filling on its own and we may not be able to finish it after eating. We appreciated his honesty, friendliness and kindness. This type of service is hard to find in LA, we have been to several international cuisine and they are not honest, and will still give us partially complete items missing ingredients without warning us and trying to trick us just to get money, but not Banana Leaf. We feel like they are not serving us for money, but truly genuinely appreciate us coming to try their food. The food was delicious, I recommend the dish Rendang Fish!

2023-10-20 17:50:59Malaysian here🙋🏻♀️ ! I was SO excited when I saw this place at the farmer market! I (vegetarian)had a laksa with tofu and my husband (non-vegetarian) had the beef rendang with rice. The food tasted good and definitely scratched the itch of my homesick! While I saw many reviews comparing them to the local Malaysia/ Singapore food, I’ll say this, IMO— Is it‘ Americanize’, YES. Is it as good as local food, NO. BUT there are still good!! Just don’t expect them to be as spicy/ flavorful/ deep/ Santan-ny as the actual local food (which I think the Angelenos won’t appreciate it).Keep in mind they accept CASH ONLY.

2023-06-06 00:58:24A reliable Singaporean food spot! The workers are very nice, even when it’s super busy. The tables are kept clean and the food is always good! I usually find myself eating here whenever I’m at the market.

2023-10-28 20:49:17Really nice to have a Singaporean option, which means many different favorite cuisines at once.Overall it was good. The laksa was surprisingly bland, though, and I wouldnt recommend it.

2022-12-01 21:58:13The food here was okay — first time trying Singapore cuisine so I wasn’t sure how to compare but I was with friends who had Singapore food before and they chimed in. The noodles were good, overall, but not the best. It’s located in the farmers market at the grove and the farmers market has a really cute vibe to it and the energy, ambience, and aesthetic is fantastic which makes the dining experience awesome. The food was okay though.

2023-07-23 14:23:02Its not what it used to be. The food use to be better and more flavorful. We also noticed they received a B rating. Thats probably due to the dirty fan blowing towards the kitchen or the loose hair or the spider between the juice dispensers. Or maybe it was the dirty looking lime juice container. I probably shouldnt be so harsh in my review since theyre a small mom n pop place and their prices havent gone up as significantly as the crepe place across the way (doubled!). But we havent been here in a long time and we were really looking forward to their food again.

2023-02-26 18:49:44I’ve been Singapore many times. Really wanted to see if any Singaporean/Malaysian foods in LA. Before I came here, I’d checked the reviews, it seemed mostly were positive.I ordered a basic fried noodle, wow it was very oily and the taste was nothing special. I needed to drink a lot of water to get rid of the oil in my stomach. Very disappointed for my first meal in LA.I left 3 stars because their service was good and friendly. Probably not come back again.

2022-07-21 06:14:11Ive been looking for a Malaysian place for beef rendang and Google suggested here. Its Indonesian, not Malay, and they were out of beef rendang, so I tried the chicken rendang instead. It was good, but not what I was hoping for - also, the chicken includes bones, its not just meat like the beef rendang Ive had back in NY. The white rice was a bit dry.Seating is first-come, first-serve and is on the small row of tables between vendors in the market. If its busy, be prepared to take your order to go and eat it elsewhere.
