Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
2090 N Bellflower Blvd Suite B, Long Beach, CA 90815, United States
Went here for dinner with my husband on a Sunday night for dinner. Service was okay, but after we bagged our leftovers up is when things took a very disgusting turn. When we were getting ready to leave we noticed 3 Giant cockroaches crawling across the front of their front counter. Meanless to say we threw our leftovers in the garbage. The manager on duty was afraid of the cockroaches we found and a male employee chased the cockroaches into the dining room area to kill them. We will not be returning as a result to this location. Insects only show up when proper cleaning is not being done, since cockroaches look for food sources before they start to infest. This location needs better pest management to avoid cockroach infestations.Update: The VP of Operations Ben reached out to us and made things right, by providing us with a full refund due to our bad experience.
Bom Bom Grill

I saw this place has a high rating and decided to give it a try. I came with the family. Everything in the menu looked good. The one taking my order was super confusing to me. I didnt know if I should say maam or sir, but was helpful taking my order... My significant other went with the beef bom bom wrap, California tempura roll, my daughter with chicken udon noodles, I went with half chicken half beef fusion tacos, and got some bom bom balls for us to try out. Ok, so tacos were the least liked. Nothing exceptional stood out. Everything on the tacos was bland chicken was just ok, beef was just ok, teriyaki was hardly distinguishable, veggies were the most noted in the tacos, I wouldnt order them again. BomBom balls, which are fried rice balls with chicken or beef teriyaki inside, they were lacking flavor you could not taste anything but the fried rice and being that it was fried, the outside was hard af, felt like I was going to crack a tooth biting into fried hard rice, would not encourage to order them. Next, the chicken udon, nothing exceptional noodles, were tasteless, chicken was just there no seasoning, teriyaki was pale flavored, only thing you can barely taste were the veggies it had. I did get to try the bom bom wrap it was surprisingly good. You could actually taste some of the beef with some teriyaki, rice, and veggies. Best of all was the sushi good flavor. The spicy mayo gave it some type of flavor to make up for the weak teriyaki sauce they use. Overall, I wasnt impressed, 2 out of the 5 dishes were just ok. Good if Im being nice. I doubt Ill be back, maybe recommending just the sushi and the bom bom wrap... maybe.
Urban Chopsticks

One of the worst Chinese food places around Bellflower! First and last time i go there. Ordered the Orange chicken per the recommendations of the server, as their top menu item, and it has got to be the worst Orange chicken Ive ever had. The sauce was given to me separately! The pieces of chicken looked like chicken mcnuggets cut into pieces. The empty place should have been clue for me to dash out of there.
WaBa Grill

Went in for a quick lunch and was mildly disappointed to have waited 15-20min for dry overyly cooked chicken that tasted as if had been previously cooked, set aside and re-heated. I would not purchase again from this particular establishment for this is the 3rd time this has happend. Perhaps that is their method of service, but I find it unreasonable. Other establishments serve freshly grilled chicken and freshly cooked sides and so can they. I will say that the dumplings & tofu were by far my favorite and would actually recommend because they tasted as if they were cooked to order, not sitting around. Of course their not handmade but still better than dried out burnt grilled chicken. Please work on a better quality brown rice, it too could use some work. It was also quite dry and hard.
MFK BY AYSEE MODERN FILIPINO KITCHEN
16500 Bellflower Blvd Unit 110, Bellflower, CA 90706, United States
This is my third time trying this place and Im not a huge fan. I know it has good reviews and people love it and I was so hoping to be one of those people. My first time I got the bbq pork belly bowl and it was okay, 3/5. The rice was good, but the pork seemed a little over cooked for what pork belly normally is and very crunchy/hard. This time I tried the loaded MFK Tater Tots with crunchy pork, except they didnt have tots so they gave me fries. It sounded super good and I was looking forward to it, but it was terribly oily and I know I asked for crunchy pork, but everytime I have their pork I can barely chew through the crunchy bits. Its more hard/overcooked than crunchy! I really wanted to like this place because I love Filipino food and wanted to also try the Pancit and Lumpia, but I dont know I will now. I think my biggest problem with this place is that it is very overpriced and I dont feel like Im getting what I paid for. Im glad others like it, but I dont at this time.Photo: oily MFK fries

Honestly love this place! 5 out of 5 would recommend to anyone who is looking for a healthy alternative to fast foods or is into healthy foods! Maxx Grill has some of the tastiest salmon bowl and the steak bowls around! The meat is super tender and juicy with amazing flavor! Not to mention that if youre looking to lean out, these bowls have amazing macros! Great establishment!

Toko Rame Indonesian Halal Restaurant

The exotic smell of Indonesian food.Toko Rame has been bookmarked by me for, well, since the Lakers were a championship team. THAT long! ;p I live close, yet I just havent made my way here. Not only that, but Ive never had Indonesian cuisine as well. So, along with my friend, Stephen, and his girlfriend, we tucked our culinary passports into our pockets and saw just what Indonesian food has to offer.Nasi bungkus-The most popular Indonesian dish. Hardboiled egg, beef rendang, fried chicken, vegetable curry on top of rice w/ chili, all wrapped up in banana leaves. This is like the Indo kitchen sink - a lil bit of everything all in one. This was hearty, spicy and just plain good. A must try!Beef embal-I believe this was fried beef. I found it to be rather tough. The sweet chili sauce that accompanied it was pleasant, though.Lamb curry-Fantastic! Tender, juicy lamb with fat left untrimmed. Im a huge lamb fan and this was a winner! Our dessertEs Shanghai-The server said that this like the Pilipino dessert, halo-halo. Es Shanghai consists of crushed ice, red bean, coconut, jackfruit and syrup in milk. The server said they use a special sauce. My tastebuds were saying, I think I detect Strawberry Quik. Es Shanghai was sweet, cold and refreshing, but not in halo-halos league. Pilipinos represent! ;pSeating is very minimal, not very conducive to large parties. There is a TV for diners viewing pleasure, but it wasnt on while I was dining there.Service was friendly and prompt. Most food items are made to order, so there can be a wait, but you cant really complain about food that s made fresh for you.The restaurant shares a teeny tiny parking lot with some other businesses. Street parking is available if youre poop out of luck finding a spot. The location is just north of the 91 Freeway.Toko Rame is a halal restaurant, so no pork, blood etc. I must try the beef chicharrones next time Im here. And I will be back! I immensely enjoyed my food selections, except for maybe the beef embal. The service was good and I want to further dive into all that Indonesian cuisine has to offer.Highly recommend!NOMONOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNONOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
Bai Plu Thai & Sushi Bar
2119 N Bellflower Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90815, United States
Good:Huge varietyGood quality sushiGenerous portionsGood serviceFull bar!Meh:Huge variety (like 15 pages on the menu)Friend ofine has been telling me about Bai Plu Thai & Sushi bar for the longest time now. Finally got a chance to try it out.I was a bit leary with the sushi because, in my experience, se sushi joints that dont specialize in sushi usually tend not to have the best quality fish. I was wrong on this count. This fish quality was good, with no fishy smell, so it passes the smell test and taste test. And also being a Thai restaurant that serves sushi, you never know what the Thai food is going to be like. Verdict: Good. We ended up ordering Pad Se Ew with beef ($16.99), Papaya salad ($14.99), Panang curry with chicken ($15.99), spicy eggplant & basil with chicken ($15.99). Oh, lets not forget about the Mango sticky rice ($14.99).All delicious and definitely flavors youd expect from a Thai restaurant.Service was attentive and quick. Although family friendly, not really built for strollers. But I would definitely come back on the near future.
Tacos El Tio 2

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very welcoming and their take on kimchi burgers and fries made me love asian fusion cuisine all over again not to mention the so many varieties in drinks alone love their huge selection simply delicious:)!!!
