Chin Chin El Segundo
2041 Rosecrans Ave #120, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
Very disappointed in the manager's handling in both service and issues with food during my last night's visit with my family.Service:The restaurant was not very busy as there were many empty tables around us, but the one server covering approx 4 tables seemed to be overwhelmed. It took 25 minutes to get waters and she would disappear for 5-10 minutes at a time many times during the evening. The 3 other tables around us were having all sorts of issues as well and appeared very frustrated when our server went missing, one of them mentioned something to what I thought was the manager, but actually a hostess. Later, after we got our food, I had to look for the manager after noticing our server wasn't getting any assistance and the service was still the same. When I mentioned the poor service and issues with the food to the manager, she said she would take care of it. She didn't seem too thrilled when I asked her why she hasn't been to our side to check on anyone. There was a surge of food runner support for a few minutes, then it went back to how it was before talking to the manager. The manager never came to ask about the issues i had with the food and avoided our side of the restaurant the rest of the night, which is why I'm even bothering writing this.Food:The “Super Food bowl” was extremely soggy and tasteless. The “bok choy and mushrooms” was overpriced for what you get and partially undercooked because they were much larger bottoms and NOT what is shown on the website. Our party of 8 went there for the Dim Sum, but after waiting over 30 minutes to just put our order in, we opted out after being told it would be at least another 25 minutes for an order of dim sum. The meats in both the chicken and pork chow fun bowls were overcooked and tough. Also, they were out of 4 of the 5 specialty teas listed on the menu, which was odd. The Sushi rolls were actually pretty good and would recommend them.
Tapizn
450 Main St, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
I came to Tapizôn for an event where I got to try their food for free, but I will be back because the people, the food, the music, the location, and the overall atmosphere were awesome! The items I was able to try:CHEESY DICE 4.5/5This was one of my favorites. I was expecting more of a cheese flavor, but that didn't detract from the dish. They have a chewy inside with crunchy outside. Imagine fried tapioca and that's what this is like. The real star of the show is the sweet and spicy açaí sauce; it is fantastic with this! I've never had anything like it.PUMPKIN SOUP VEGANA 3.5/5I am a huge pumpkin soup fan, so I was really looking forward to this dish. Tapizôn's version is vegan and thus lacks the heaviness from traditional recipes which include lots of cream. It had a ginger forward taste which I really enjoyed. My only comment is that in my opinion, it needed more salt.GARLIC FRIED CHICKEN 3/5These had a very mild garlic flavor; it wasn't in your face. Most of the pieces had a great crunch, but a few were soggy. The lemon added a good acidity and I loved the additional flavor of the pickled onions. The dipping sauce provided was togarashi mayo, although I didn't taste a lot of togarashi.AHI TUNA CRUDO 5/5This was another favorite. This was so flavorful and the fish was so fresh. Yum! And I loved the tapioca paper chips.MOQUECA 4.5/5This was a very mild fish which is how I like ‘em! I loved the peppers in it which contrasted well with the coconut cream. My only comment is that this also seemed to be under salted.BRAZILIAN BRIGADIERO 3.5/5This dessert was surprising due to its consistency; I expected it to be a spoonful of chocolate pudding but man was it thick! It took time to eat… which meant more time to savor the flavor.ORIGINAL CAIPIRINHA 4.5/5I enjoyed this cocktail and would get it again. It's both light and refreshing. Mine was very lime forward in flavor. I would like to try their passion fruit flavored cocktail next time!PRIMA PAVE - Rosé dolce 5/5I wish I asked for a second glass of this!I love that this is a nonalcoholic alternative for people who like wine.In addition to the wonderful food, original caipirinha cocktail, and non-alcoholic wine- all of which were fantastic, we also had the good fortune to try different flavors of a Brazilian energy drink brand called Soda Bossa.SODA BOSSA 5/5I tried the passion fruit, guayana berry, and dragon fruit Pitaya flavors. My favorite was the passion fruit, because I'm obsessed with the sweet and sour flavor of that fruit. My second favorite was the guayana berry, followed by my third, the dragon fruit Pitaya. However, all of them were good and definitely something I would buy instead of traditional/common energy drinks. Soda Bossa is a much healthier and tastier option.I had a wonderful time, ate some delicious food, and now know a new place to go to. I definitely recommend you give this place a try and bring friends so you can share several dishes. Your experience, of course, will be different because I was here for an event, but I hope it will be equally as wonderful. And I can recommend them if you're interested in hosting an event there because they did a wonderful job.
True Food Kitchen
860 Pacific Coast Hwy #100, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
I began dining at True Food Kitchen when they first opened their original location at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, California. I have been a fan ever since, and it is one of my favorite restaurants. The El Segundo restaurant offered a similar experience as the experiences Ive had at Newport Beach. The main reason I like True Food Kitchen is due to their seasonal menu of fresh, creative, and healthy dishes. We usually start with their edamame dumplings and hamachi as appetizers (which also make a light meal if one isnt too hungry), and then get whatever looks good that day. Desserts are delicious, relatively healthy, and worth the calorie splurge. In line with fresh and creative dishes and drink offerings is the restaurants decor, which is very casual at the same time stylish. Ill call the style abstracted urban farm. It has a clean look to coordinate with clean food and clean living. The outdoor dining space is equally pleasant as the indoor dining room. The only negative thing we experienced was it was a bit noisy. The dining experience could be enhanced if they proactively addressed this issue as well as turned down the volume of the music. We found ourselves raising our voice in competition with the loud music as well as the party next to us who also needed to raise their voices to hear each other. Service was friendly, and I would say slightly above average in responsiveness. Its a large dining room, and our server was literally covering a lot of ground. Our meal for 3 which included two appetizers, 3 entrees, 3 desserts, and a bottle of wine was $116.00 + tip. So, it wasnt what I would call inexpensive, but not overly expensive either considering how much more it is to buy quality organic food. I also value the careful preparation and presentation of the food. Overall our experience was very good, we all enjoyed our food, and we had a great time.
RiceCups
130 E Grand Ave K, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
Best New Lunch Spot in El Segundo!Easy to get to as well. It is across the street from the Standard Sports Bar. There is parking on the street, in the shopping center as well at the nearby RITE-Aid as well.My wife and I came here because we are foodies and love a uniquely fun lunch together. My wife had the Spicy Chicken with a can of Coke and I went for the Beef Buloggi. Both of which had the white rice option. The salad dressing is a must to be placed atop of the veggies! No need to ask for extra hot sauce or Mayo as that they know the exact amount that is needed! The Chicken is friend in a thinner batter. This means more chicken than fried breading as many other Asian cuisine restaurants do. But not RiceCups! The Beef Buliggi was so thinkly sliced that it was easy to eat with a fork. No need for any knife to cut the items in the bowl.Suggestion, the portion size does look large but my wife and I ate the entire bowl for lunch.Their Mac-&-Cheese is superb!Planning on coming here more often! Also, there is plenty of spots to park and lock up your e-bike or bicycle. This is a Bike Friendly Location!

Good Stuff always hits the spot. If you havent been, you gotta go! Its probably my personal favorite chain of restaurants in the South Bay. They have a sweet diner vibe with amazing customer service (been to almost every location, and everyone rocks) but offer more than diner food. They also some Asian fusion dishes like the picture teriyaki beef and veggie bowl. This baby was loaded up with brown rice and all the veggies. Even with sauce and rice, this bowl wont weight you down. Perfect for a healthy meal thatll fuel you the rest of your day ?
The Point
850 CA-1, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
What a cool shopping/dining strip mall. Very So Cal. I think all the restaurants have large outdoor seating areas. No McDonalds or food court fodder here. All the restaurants definitely have a modern, hip vibe. Lots of healthy type foods, but also tasty. The large courtyard/green space area has seating and an area where kids can play. There is an ice cream stand and full bar in the courtyard area as well. The bar had live acoustic music which made the atmosphere feel homey and intimate. It was a perfect Spring day and this is why people LOVE Southern California-- great weather, great food, all set in a casual environment. The Point is great for an adults only dinner or a meal or snack with your entire family.
Northern Cafe El Segundo
700 S Allied Way ste a, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Northern Cafe in El Segundo, and let me tell you, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the stage for a delightful meal. The ordering process was incredibly convenient and efficient. Each of us at the table simply scanned the QR code, and it seamlessly placed our order for the entire table. This not only saved us time but also ensured that our selections were accurately recorded. Kudos to Northern Cafe for embracing technology in such a user-friendly manner. Now, lets talk about the food. We started with the Sautéed Green Beans (photo attached), and they were simply outstanding. The beans were cooked to perfection, tender yet crisp, and bursting with flavor. It was a great way to whet our appetites for the feast to come.Next up was the Beef Roll (photo attached), and let me just say, it was a work of art. The tender slices of beef were enveloped in a delicate, flaky pancake, creating a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. It was a true delight to bite into, and the accompanying sauce elevated the dish to another level. The Szechuan Dan Dan Noodles (photo attached) were a definite highlight of the meal. The noodles had the perfect chewiness, and the slightly spicy sauce packed a flavorful punch that had us reaching for more. It was a dish that satisfied both our cravings for heat and our love for well-balanced flavors. The Crab and Pork Dumplings were a hit at our table. Each dumpling was meticulously crafted, with a thin, delicate wrapper encasing a delectable filling. The combination of crab and pork resulted in a delightful blend of sweetness and savory notes that left us wanting another round. The Chongqing Crispy Chicken (photo attached) was another winner. The chicken was expertly fried to a crispy perfection, with a tantalizingly spicy coating that kept us coming back for more. The dish had a wonderful depth of flavor and was a definite crowd-pleaser.Lastly, we indulged in the BBQ Pork Buns, and they did not disappoint. The fluffy buns were filled with succulent barbecue pork that was both tender and flavorful. Each bite was a heavenly combination of textures and tastes, making it a perfect ending to our meal. One minor suggestion I have is to consider providing larger tables to accommodate the generous portions and various sharing options. While the food came out at lightning speed, we found ourselves struggling to fit everything on the table. Having a bit more elbow room would enhance the overall dining experience. If youre in El Segundo and looking for a dining experience that combines convenience, speed, and above all, incredible flavors, I highly recommend Northern Cafe. Trust me, you wont be disappointed.
Little Sister at The Point
830 CA-1 #100, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
Southeast Asian fusion restaurant with focus on Vietnamese dishes. I’ve heard a lot of good things from coworkers, so I came here to try it with a friend on a Wednesday around 1pm. We were seated immediately. There’s indoor and outdoor dining available. You scan the menu via QR code and place your order with a server. The food came out quickly and all three of the dishes we got were good choices. The nem nuong spring rolls (3 to an order) were super crispy and came with a smattering of noodles, veggies, a sweet chili sauce, and peanuts. The pan-fried e-fu noodles were egg noodles were thinly sliced pork and a poached egg - it was mixed in a savory brown sauce. The fried chicken wings (8) were slightly spicy and came with crispy garlic on top. The latter two could be shared between 2-3 people. In total, the three dishes were good for us two with some leftovers for one person.
