Chubby yaki
12836 S Inglewood Ave, Hawthorne, CA 90250, United States
Chubby Rice is an absolute gem, taking American Chinese food and elevating it to perfection. The entire menu looks and feels familiar, serving up classics like General Tsos chicken and chow mein. What you get is something that feels comforting, creative and ultimately very special. Its a place that I hope survives this quarantine and sticks around forever.Whatever you order, I recommend starting things off with the chubby egg roll. From what I understand it resembles a New York egg roll, although Ive never had one myself. What I can tell you is that this bad boy is enormous, crispy and packed with seasoned ground pork, cabbage and celery. Dip it in any one of their amazing housemade sauces, and youre in carbohydrate heaven. My love for fried calamari is well documented on Yelp, and Chubby Rice absolutely delivers here. This one comes prepared Hong Kong style with salt and pepper, but the result is airy and relatively light compared with other batter-heavy versions. Since this is an entree, you also get two sides. I highly recommend the fried rice, which is genuinely how I wish my fried rice would turn out.I have to be honest about this next one. Im not crazy about the General Tsos chicken here. The whole thing is swimming in sauce thats just way too salty for me. The chicken itself is fine and I like the crispy texture, but thats about it. I will cut them some slack here, because everything else Ive tried is more or less perfect.I have been eating pretty healthy during quarantine, but I am salivating as I finish this review. Its pretty clear that my next cheat meal will be from Chubby Rice. Looking forward to trying more stuff on the menu.

Nothing like the advertising. Not a healthy option. High fructose corn syrup generic syrups for their protein bowls. The chicken got microwaved too long and my veggies were tossed on the bowl still cold (the kind of veggies your grandparents get served in the nursing home). The dumplings were soggy and flacid. The ribeye they advertise is more of an unidentified meat shaving. Save yourself the disappointment and just go to Panda Express next door. Not what I was expecting and very unimpressed. Terrible seating environment, not welcoming at all. Music is too loud, lights make you feel like youre in the ER waiting room. They put everything in single use plastic like theyre personally trying to cover the beach in trash. This place is a joke. Trying to trademark Eat Smart Be Healthy while serving hot garbage. From all the reviews for restaurants near LAX, it looks like folks should save themselves the money and the pollution and just go hungry for a couple hours. Everything in the immediate vicinity is hot trash.

Two Homms

We stumbled upon Two Hommés from Yelp. We were able to make a reservation within 30 minutes of us wanting to go! We were greeted by the wonderful, Nita. She was so friendly and was patient with us as we asked questions about the menu. She intrigued us with the homemade watermelon lemonade. It was amazing! We ordered appetizers, a main meal, and because both were so good, we tried the dessert, too!For the appetizer we tried the Honey Berbere Chicken Bites. Those were amazing on their own, but when you dip them in the citrus aioli, get ready to take your tongue to another planet! It blew our minds how those flavors mixed so well. I've never tasted anything like it. Wow!Next up, the main course meals. I tied the garlic noodle with the fried catfish. Wow wow wow! I've never had anything so delicious!! My friends ordered the Jollof platter with fried catfish, and also the mahi mahi tostados. NOTHING disappointed! If I knew how Heaven tasted, I bet this would come real close! Then for dessert, we tried the liquid peach cheesecake. Right?! Read that again… it's something to experience.I'm so grateful for experiencing Two Hommés. I'll be back to try brunch!Don't walk, RUN to try it for yourself!(Don't mind the low quality pictures, I had to take screenshots from my Instagram boomerangs lol)

Stuff I Eat
114 N Market St, Inglewood, CA 90301, United States
I hate anything healthy, and I especially cant stand vegans. Not to say that I hate vegan people I just hate the thought of limiting my food selection. I am a hard core fatty and will eat anything and everything the looks and smells yummy.... With that being said this is my experience at Stuff I Eat.Took my mother here (who is going vegan for Lent) and was expecting to not necessarily hate it but expecting to leave there hungry. What I know about vegan foods is that it contains little to no items that I love. (I LOVE MEAT). When I saw the menu I noticed they had tons of tasty sounding options (nothing I would of expected from vegans) I decided to go with the Spinach Enchiladas and my mom got the half plate soul food dinner. AND WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW was there A LOT of food. The wait wasnt bad at all and when they bought out the plate I was immediately in heaven. It smelled delish and the taste surly did match. And if you are not use to vegan foods I SINCERELY recommend coming here because its ignited so many different taste buds I didnt even know I had. Its something so familiar with a different twist to it. I applaud their take on enchiladas; they actually make Vegan food delish. Also I LOVED LOVED the yams (side note tried it from my mom)Whats also GREAT about this place is that you can sample any dish before buying it. They have a 0 waste policy so if your unsure just grab a sample and I you cant try it out. Also the restaurant itself is stunning. The décor is amazing has a nice calming/earthy vibe to it. It has a great homey feel to it very chillaxing. Only thing I was -_- about was the price for vegan pie. I got a slice of sweet potato pie for $7 ONLY A SLICE sheesh. I totally considered going vegan after eating here then realized the price. Its extremely costly to prepare vegan food. But this place is worth every penny I will go back and try their gumbo I heard its amazing too.

Mutiara Food & Market
225 S La Brea Ave, Inglewood, CA 90301, United States
My first time ever trying Burmese food. The service was excellent as the server helped narrowing down my choices because I wanted to try everything. I went on the weekend so I decided to get items that were only offered on the weekend - curry chicken noodle and the tofu salad. I was told that was more than enough for 1 person. I ordered a hot milk tea and it was made with condensed and it was delicious. I slurped down the noodle and empty the bowl. The noodles were perfect in chewiness and it soaked the flavor of the broth that I wouldnt mind having just by itself. The Burmese tofu salad was unique to me because Ive never tried tofu made with garbanzo bean. It was definitely filling. If you like fish sauce with dried shrimp for saltiness and slightly tangy from lemon juice and chilli powder to taste for some heat, well then you must try the salad. I liked the texture; it is fuller, less delicate than soy, much like Korean rice jello, very cooling.

Delivery was quick. Unlike other Thai places Ive ordered from that rush thru you ordering and lack customer service etiquette, the lady that helped me with my order was very patient and kind over the phone. I ordered everything Vegan. It was pretty tasty and arrived steaming hot.I really liked the spice (I ordered it Hot but next time Ill ask for extra hot since I can tolerate the heat)I liked the way the veggies were cut, there was love put into them.I ordered:Kee Mow (spicy noodles)~ were well cooked, edible, just needed a bit more mint flavor and Id gave it all a 5star.. Definitely two persons could split the plate.Tom Kha Soup~ was deliciousSide of Brown rice~ was a good amount and well cooked.Green Curry with Tofu~ thickness was good and it was tasty (tofu was not overcooked, still spongy and soft inside)

Wi Jammin Cafe
441 E Manchester Blvd, Inglewood, CA 90301, United States
Our last stop in LA was at Wi Jammin Cafe and we were not disappointed! We were immediately greeted and seated. The restaurant was sparkling clean and ready for service. We shared the Jerk Chicken and Crispy Chicken sandwiches with a side of Jerk Fried Rice. Yes, i said Jerk Fried Rice! The Crispy Chicken sandwich was crispy and juicy. The Jerk Chicken sandwich was perfectly seasoned, juicy and full of kick! Both sandwiches came with crispy waffle fries. The Jerk Fried Rice is a fusion of classic Asian flavors with a Caribbean kick of spice, needless to say, IT WAS DELICIOUS! The staff made us feel at home as we looked over the menu and joked about our appetites. The owner, Courtney was a pleasure. He took time to share the story of his branch of the Wi Jammin family and how his establishment came to be the Cafe. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back! Thank you Courtney! (Apologies if i spelled your name wrong)
