Amazing to have all these great restaurants in one location. So far I haven't been able to tell any difference from the standalone restaurants.

Manresa

Ive eaten at Manresa a number of times, and love it, but my kids have not. So took my son Josh and his GF Aran for their 25th birthdays, along with my Sweetie Teresa (her 2nd time) on Feb 12th. We all had the tasting menu with the wine pairing, which came to a total (with bubbly and still water, one G&T, and 3 coffees to about $2700 including a $500 tip, which sounds steep but was SO worth it!Started with 2 Amuse Bouches: a petit fours of red pepper gellee with black olive madeline, and an incredible multi-seed granola crisp filled with goat cheese. This was followed by two small plates: iced geoduck clam with kolrabi and turnip, and an exquisite sunchoke royale, with roast chicken jelly and Ossetra cavier. My only small critique of these 4 starters, all of which were both beautiful & delicious, was that they probably would have been even more heavenly if accompanied by champagne. This alcohol-deprivation was soon rectified, however. The next course was a delicious abalone chowder with poblano chile mouse (sp?), paired beautifully with a 2017 Alzinger Gruener Veitliner Smaragd - Steinertal (a somewhat grassy, superb Austrian white. The salad course was a complete knock-out (see photos) - with crunch, savoriness, just wonderful, paired with the same Austrian white. The next course was fabulous, a Romanesco, Dungeness crab concontion with koji butter, which we all gleefully sopped up with the sourdough (one of three never-ending Manresa-baked bread choices), paired with a superb 2013 Comtesse Bernard de Cherisey Meursault Genelotte. This was followed by Kinmedai and squid with grilled onion jus, paired well witha 2017 La Marca di San Michele, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi CapoVolto (a grape Ive never heard of - delicious!). This squid course, while delicious and satisfying, was probably the most one note flavor palate of any of the courses due to the grilled onion jus.The 1st meat course was another knock-out: roast veal sweetbreads with coffee potato & black garlic, paired beautifully with a 2009 Michael Gros, Vosne-Romanee Clos des Reas. The final meat course was the far and away the meatiest fowl course Ive ever had, and pushed all of my beef buttons. It was a roasted (rare) squab breast and a confit squab leg & thigh in an incredible foie gras sauce Albefera, paired with a lovely Syrah, the 2013 Clusel-Roch, Cote-Rotie Les Grande Places.By this point we were all satieted and a bit tipsy, but had room for most of the 3 dessert courses, paired with a wonderful old Port, a 1962 Muse Wines, Banyuls Pietri-Geraud.The 1st was Kafir lime with pistachio & squash, combining sweet & savory notes with the citrus of the kefir lime. The 2nd was a amazing tower of roasted pear hidden below a chocolate crisp with fennel, followed by strawberry petit fours with chocolate madeleines, tying into the 1st amuse bouche.Coffee was excellent, as expected, and happy we all Lyfted there and home. Meal began at 5:30, and ended at 10:15 with a dessert doggy bag, plus a couple handfulls of their butter carmels and individual clear boxes of their homemade granola for breakfast the next day.If youve never eaten at this local 3 Michelin starred gem, you owe it to yourself to try it for a special occasion. The ambiance, the decor, the service, the presentation, and especially the food, with amazingly contrasting colors, textures, and temperatures within a single dish, are all fantastic and worthy of 3 Michelin stars. To my mind, Manresa is botb closer and better than the French Laundry.

Southern Kitchen Los Gatos

If you want to GET SICK, come here. They serve you moldy food !!I came here with my friend for breakfast. They served me the GREEN MOLDY TOASTS. I didn't notice the moldy spots until I had taken some bites of it . I showed the server the moldy thing, he apologized for it and canceled the cost for the food, but he still charged me for the cup of latte I had. Couple of hours later I started to feel the stomach cramping and had nausea. I had to see Dr right away. It was gastritis caused by eating the wrong thing. I contacted the restaurant manager, she said she was not there and she didn't see this happen. She said you should have taken the picture of the moldy bread to prove it (well, my friend and the two servers witnessed the whole thing) She hung up rudely before I finished talking. This restaurant used to be my favorite spot for breakfast in town. I had never had issues here before. But recently they changed the ownership and management, I guess everything has changed. You can NOT expect the same thing as before. So if you come here, I wish you good luck !!!1.To be continued......They responded to my post right away, looks like they still care about the customer service. First of all, I didn't ask you for thousands of dollars ( I don't know how you come up with this amount ??) My medical bill is $680, I suggested you cover this cost . I underwent all the pain and suffering and had to take time off, I didn't let you compensate for any of this, I said it clearly on the phone. You hung up rudely before I finished talking, I was not able to get your or your attorney's contact info yet . Now you claim you didn't receive my bills, I don't know where I should send the medical bills !2. To be continued ......They removed the response right after I wrote my “1. To be continued ......” Interesting ! It feels like a live stream thing !!3. To be continued......Now they posted it again. She said they were very friendly towards me ( soooo funny!) and she just called this whole thing “inconvenience” ( soooo funny, too !) If you come here, you may run into this kind of “inconvenience”, too . And they will say Sorry to you, Bad Luck !4. To be continued ......I thought that was it, I won't need to write any more “ To be continued......” But now they deleted all the responses they wrote here . God knows why ! By the way, in her original response, she claimed that I asked for thousands of dollars for compensation. I was very confused. I only suggested her cover the medical bill which is $680 in total . How did she come up with “thousands of dollars” saying? One thing could be that she was basically making up stories, or some other customers have asked her for that amount of compensation and she just mixed up their case with mine . FYI

Coup De Thai
137 N Santa Cruz Ave, Los Gatos, CA 95030, United States
If you come for dragon ball because of the lawsuit like I did, you are bound to be disappointed. But if you come for good food, you are in the right place.Let me cut to the chase. Given the lawsuit alleges that this dish causes chemical burns, I was expecting hotter than usual spicy. Dragon ball is a disappointment to this extent. It is objectively mild by any standard. Yes, I am used to Sichuan food. But that is also why I was ready to taste something that is hotter than that. Other than this point, the dragon ball is quite tasty if you want some spice but cannot take too much heat.As we only had a quick lunch, and I am not versed in Thai flavors. So, I will skip commenting on food. (The other dish we ordered was Thai BBQ pork with sticky rice. It is also well prepared, although personally I would like it better if meat is marinated more. Other than the dipping sauce for the BBQ, these dishes taste closer to milder, Southern Chinese than Southeast Asian food. The coconut ice cream they say they got from a shop on the street, on the other hand, has a unique texture that we like very much. We went to the shop afterward, but they do not sell that flavor.)The restaurant has a welcoming air, elegant lighting, and is very stylishly decorated. (Food plating is also delicate.) Given this is downtown Los Gatos, there is amble free parking nearby. We arrived a little after lunch time and got seated quickly. The server is very attentive as you expect from a South Asian joint. Overall, Coup de Thai is a very pleasant place to eat.

The Lexington House
40 N Santa Cruz Ave ste a, Los Gatos, CA 95030, United States
HOUSE BREADMake sure you ask for this brioche/cornbread hybrid. I really had to consciously try not to fill up on the bread and would eye it protectively whenever someone stopped by to clear the table. It wasnt until I was in the middle of scarfing down dessert that I sadly realized they took away my last 2 buttery bites while I was distracted by my treats.CHICKEN LIVER MOUSSE . SEASONAL PICKLES WATSONVILLE SOURDOUGHDelicious! A little lighter than what I am used to for a pate but it spreads wonderfully over the lightly toasted sourdough.PEE-WEE POTATOES . CHANTERELLE ESCABECHE SLOW EGG . DILL POLLENThis is pretty filling for an appetizer, even after sharing it. I expected the dish to taste more creamy but it felt a tiny bit watered down after I tossed it all together. Still yummy though!TEXTURES OF BEET . HORSERADISH PUDDING PISTACHIO CRUMBLE . WATERCRESSI love the presentation of this dish and the combination of the flavors. The horseradish gives it a bit of a tingle and the beets tastes incredible with the cream.DIVERS SCALLOPS BASTED IN BROWN BUTTER CASTROVILLE ARTICHOKES . TRUMPET ROYALE MUSHROOMSWOW! The table agreed that these were simply the best scallops we have ever had. They were huge, juicy, super tender, and slightly cooked to perfection. Can I have about 9 more plates of these? The mushrooms were fantastic as well and went nicely with the scallops. The artichokes werent a bad touch either but were a little too salty for me.FLAT IRON STEAK SEARED IN CAST IRON HEIRLOOM CARROTS . VADOUVAN . SAUCE BÉARNAISENot my favorite dish of the night. I suppose I had high expectations because I know the head chef came over from Dio Deka so I was let down when the steak arrived well done instead of the promised medium-rare (originally requested rare).CARAMEL APPLE TART . FROMAGE ORANGE CREAM PECAN AND FEUILLETINE CRUMBLE . SALTED CARAMEL ICE CREAMDelicious take on an apple pie!LOS GATOS HONEY GRAHAM CRACKER . CHOCOLATE SQUARES SMOKED MARSHMALLOW . HUCKLEBERRY SAUCEThis was a pretty fun smore. Chef told us to eat this with our hands so we dug in. Licking chocolate goo off your fingers is always a plus :)Lexington House is a relatively small facility and can probably only seat 30 at a time and hold about 40 guests total. They do not take reservations so it is best to go early or after 9pm to avoid waiting too long (maybe it was because I forgot it was SVRW). The decor was a fun mix of contemporary accents, rustic charm, and traditional furniture. The ambiance was cozy while buzzing with life and I enjoyed being able to chat with each of the staff members.Jimmy: Friendly and made some excellent drink recommendations.Cathy: Our server who was always happy to chat and answer any questions we had.Janice: Offered to take pictures without us asking. She was really funny.Kim: Super sweet front of the house hostess. She highly recommended the scallops and chicken liver mousse. Im so glad we took her advice as those were my favorites.Chef Philippe: Great guy and super chill. He came out to chat with us and apologized profusely for the over cooked steak and sent us some delicious port to go with our desserts.

North Seasonal Vietnamese Cuisine & Bar
133 N Santa Cruz Ave, Los Gatos, CA 95030, United States
We were excited to come to this restaurant and as we walked up it looked great. Going inside I was impressed with the bar, it looked fantastic. The bar tender was awesome and he even lets us try a sample of their hand made Chili Tequila and it tasted great. Unfortunately it was all down hill after that. The service was slow and the food was bland at best. We started with the Vegitarian pot stickers. They had no taste, were doughy and the outside was dried out and crunchy (like stale bread). We waited a considerable amount of time before our next course came. We ordered Chicken Pho, Garlic Noodles and Lemongrass chicken. The Chicken Pho was not that bad and was the tastiest item we ordered. However when they served it they did not give is bowls or spoons. I have no idea how they thought we would eat this without them. We actually had to ask the server to bring these to us which took a lot of time. We were not the only ones the table next to us experienced the Same thing. The Lemongrass chicken was bland and had very little taste. The Garlic noodles were pretty good and I enjoyed them. The total cost for our diner was around $100 before the tip. I left thinking this was a waste of $100.
