I do recommend. Great service by a friendly guy. My order was well presented in a Take Out format & ready in 30 minutes. The Bao Buns were fluffy & chewy enough to be fabulous. Very fresh & excellent quality cucumber, lettuce & cilantro. Unfortunately there was something sweet in them that I did not enjoy - I prefer savory - sweet belongs in the dessert course. Im disappointed that there was no mention of sweet in Chicken Karaage description. Reading mention of their Wasabi Sour Cream I had asked for a side thinking Id add it to my Buns. Very disappointed. It was sweet & not the least bit hot - if they used real Wasabi it was only enough to add mild accent color - not flavor. The Bao Buns were so well assembled that I would still recommend them. It was my fault that I didnt Google Curry Katsu: While it bears the curry moniker, katsu is far removed from its Indian and Thai counterparts. Its got a sweeter, fruitier flavour thanks to a base of caramelised onion, garlic and carrot. Then, its spiced with mild curry powder and soy sauce, and sweetened with some sugar or honey. Again - well cooked & presented but way too sweet for me. Now the 2nd entree: Spicy Yaki Ramen w/ chicken was really great. Flavorful, spicy, well cooked & savory! I also liked that it wasnt a soup. Enjoyed enough that I will return & make better educated selections.

We have ordered from Jaru House in the past and LOVED it, but today, when I called to place an order, I was disappointed. One of the things we really enjoy from there is the Jaru Bowl. The menu on the Jaru House website and on Grubhub both list the Jaru Bowl as coming with 1 Chinese Entree, 1Sushi Entree & 1 Side, just as we have ordered it through Grubhub and received it in the past. When I tried to order it over the phone today, I was told that it does not contain a sushi entree, that to get all three, I would have to order a Jaru Combo J-3, which is $6.60 more. I was also told that the Jaru bowl never included a sushi entree and that I never received that order. When I pointed out that I was reading it directly from our previous Grubhub order and the Jaru House website, I was told they never filled that order and the website is wrong. When I persisted, the person on the phone asked a manager who also said I was wrong and refused to place the order as listed. I called with a $50+ order, that did not get placed, because Jaru House refused to honor the menu posted on their website. The same menu that was honored and filled through Grubhub in the past.I can place the order through Grubhub with the options I have received before, but they add $1.00 per item, which is not cost effective when I pay no upcharge for pickup when I order direct. This is bad business. Even if the website and Grubhub are misrepresenting the menu, it should be honored until it is corrected.

For take out the food was good. I ordered the Spicy chicken the chicken was a little dry but great flavor. My disappointment Was with the customer Service. Maria took my order. She seemed upset that I wanted to pay with a large bill. Once I got my order. There was a Discrepancy. in the total on the receipt. when I asked about it, She immediately became defensive and without looking at the receipt.Told me that I was wrong. At that point a manager intervened. I believe she said her name was Selena although she was not wearing a name tag. Selena was quite aggressive and even though I pointed out the era on their signage, she flippantly told me that they did not make the sign.....

Love this place. Hard to get in sometimes as it is very small and a very, very small parking lot (maybe 8 spaces) but plenty of street parking. Also difficult to find if you don't already know where it is. Kind of off the beaten path. Recommend putting it in the nav and letting it tell you where to go. I'm not a sushi person, but their cooked food is superb. Recommend the Golden Shrimp. Most amazing taste I've ever experienced for seafood. I can eat those things all day, every day. Cannot even try to explain the flavor, maybe the best I can do is a very mild teriyaki with a smokey flavor. Intense flavor to say the least. The rest of my family are sushi types and they rave about that, too.Update: it looks like they have permanently closed. So sad :( I will now have to find another chef to make me golden shrimp but fear that it was a unique dish and will never have my pallet served that wonderful taste. Thanks Masa for the great food!Update 2: it looks as though it has reopened. I have not returned so I can't say if the menu is the same, and whether or not my wonderfully lovely Golden Shrimp are still there. I will have to stop by and see if it still holds up as before.
