Yangtse Taste of Thai
1136 S Main St, Salinas, CA 93901, United States
My coworker and I went to have lunch at this place. It is only couple blocks from our workplace. We got there at 12:10 pm. As soon as we got to the place, I observed only 4 tables of 2 people each having lunch, the rest of the place was empty. We wait for about 5 minutes to get a table and get acknowledge from the waitress. We sat and another 5 minutes till another waitress that we never thought he worked there, took our order. The time was 12:20 pm. The waitress took several minutes to bring our drinks and then our soups and then the condiments. For the amount of people at the place you expected the service to be faster now that all these people were already eating when we got there so how come we got our meals at 12:55 pm. And when we looked at the clock, we asked the waitress that we need the food to go and he said and I quote you place it in a To GO box so this man, brought me the food to the table and then a box to place my meal when we told him to put them to go and belive me he was not nice whatsoever!!!!! I got to my work late. Anyways, food was DISGUSTING! There is no other word to describe it. Its basically eating noodles with lots of oil and flavorless. I got a very orange watery peanut sauce which did not help at all nor the chilli sauce or the soy sauce. It was very very very bad dish (Pad Thai). Just a few minutes ago, my co-worker told me hey I did not like the food. I threw up and it was gross. Never ever will come back to this place. What a disappointment
Teriyaki Madness

Not impressed at all. Actually, its very disappointing. Its Panda style foods with a bit higher price. Employees standing around loudly talking & joking around while we have to flick food particles off the table where we sit. The tables & the floor have food & crumpled napkins, yet theyre not cleaning anything up. I ordered the Combo madness salmon teriyaki. Taste like frozen fish and its bland. The egg roll is sad looking. My daughter bought a bowl with Teriyaki chicken & yakisoba. Barely any chicken, and the yakisoba was bland. It would have been better going to Panda or Arigato. We dined-in, but ate our meals in to-go contaners because we were not asked if we were dining in or not. Theres no madness about this place. One and Done!!

You cannot go wrong with this place. Its california cuisine, meets Asian fusion, meets brew pub, finished with fresh Mexican influence. I recommend the Buffalo wings, and lightly fried artichoke hearts for an appetizer. The Beer and wine list are amazing. Cannot go wrong with any burger on the menu and they will actually cook it rare or medium rare if you choose. The Butter me up burger melts in your mouth. I love to order extras on my burgers but I recommend let any of the ones here come as ordered. TJ burger and spicy chicken sandwich with battered French fries are too die for. Battered fish taco was what originally pulled me in but the shrimp taco was just enough of an Asian flair to keep us coming back. Bacon mac n cheese side was creamy,, not too much bacon, well put together,, topped with melted cheesie goodness.. Salads are amazing, from what I rudely gawked at on other patrons tables. Blood Orange Hefeweisen was the amazing cherry on top. Ambiance is casual, nice decor, variety of ages and types of diners. Tastes farm fresh. We came for a birthday lunch and wow, will be back as much as possible.
Villa Azteca

Villa Azteca in Downtown Salinas is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE RESTAURANT! I am NEVER disappointed whether its the presentation, environmental, staff and how they keep upscaling their menu.Sometimes you discover a restaurant that just puts so much love and care in their details for their customers and Villa Azteca does that! They do it with the decor thats been carefully picked, the dishes they use to put your food on, the uniform the staff wears, and the love they have for their culture just surrounds you!The Family of Villa Azteca works so hard to create such an upscale menu and environment...honestly you feel youre eating at Pebble Beach! Its a family run business and you will see the Father bringing in the goods the restaurant needs, the sister who greets you with her beautiful smile and helps the customers with their orders, sometimes youll be lucky to have Andres visit your table he is one of the Chefs and sometimes you get a peak of their mother whose hard at work in the kitchen. Their staff is always professional, friendly and efficient. The food is HONESTLY the BEST you will have experienced!!FLAVORS hit your tongue and the aroma of all the delicious dishes they are preparing hits your senses, your eyes get seduced by all the beautifully prepared MEALS that pass you by and you wait in anticipation for yours to get to you! MY favorite dish is the Tuetano...Roasted bone marrow served with two black bean sopes a side of guacamole & their very popular chili oil a true delicacy. The chili oil that accompanies this dish it is so wonderful I always order extra! They have a great selection of cocktails for you to try and their flan is one of the best! They only take reservations for 4 or more and every day and night theres a wait so come early and be prepared to stand in line to get in. They seat you pretty fast but the wait IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!!Every dish they have is so delicious...I honestly think Ive tasted all of it!! If youre in Salinas YOU MUST stop by to eat and experience the love they share in their food! You will not be disappointed!!P.S. dont forget to try their Horchata Ice Coffee...my new favorite drink!!! Enjoy!!!I LOVE VILLA AZTECA!!
