Bonchon
1275 Washington Ave, San Leandro, CA 94577, United States
I have not had Bonchon before but the other day I had a severe craving for some Korean food and decided to ultimately give the place a try. I tried all 3 varieties of chicken, and a few different dishes which include the japchae, bulgogi, and pork buns. For starters the staff here is so awesome and friendly, they were incredibly inviting and let me know about their dining room opening back up as restrictions are lifting. The area around the restaurant is a bit interesting in its own way, but I will certainly have to come visit again some day soon.Chicken- huge portions, full wing, and fried to crispy perfection. I love all the chicken here and I think when you compare the size and price to your other chicken spots, this place takes the mark. The japchae was classic and delicious, but I do wish I got a bit more out of my experience with the pork buns and bulgogi. The pork buns are so tasty and could do with a bit more pork belly, probably a thicker cut would be great. I felt like after two bites it was all gone and what was left was a bit of slaw and the bun! Though, please know that does not discount the flavor which is perfect, just wanted a bit more. The bulgogi flavor reminded me closer to kalbi or maybe even gyudon, which is a bit lighter in its sweetness. As well (this is due to takeout and not being able to serve on a sizzling plate) but the bulgogi was missing that smoky, caramelized finish you get on the sauce. I ended up tossing the it in my wok and stirring it up until the juices had fully cooked down and the meat was beginning to char- at that point it was perfect!Anyway, I much enjoyed my first visit here. There are some things I would fix a bit from my perspective, but the one trouble I have when ordering at Korean restaurants is wanting a bit of everything while all the dishes are prized for groups of people or parties. Fortunate enough, I can get some Korean fixings at Bonchon for a reasonable price that goes well for 1 or 2 people to eat. Thanks for good experience I will certainly try again in the future!
Sushi Go Go
14410 Washington Ave, San Leandro, CA 94578, United States
Ive been going to Sushi go go for probably every week for the last probably 3 months. I remember when they openned. Tonight was the first time that I had a problem with the service there, I always order the same thing and my order always comes up to be about $11.50 total. They used to have a sign posted that there was a minimum of a $10 charge with a debit card and thats fine its no longer posted tonight.I was approached by the sales person and he indicated there was a $15 minimum in order for me to use my debit card and I basically told him I spend about $45 a month coming here and that was the only option I have is to increase it by $5.00? Or pay cash which I think is very GREEDY on their account. Keep it, its not worth $15.00 per visit.I told my friends all about this place and really tried to support their business because they lowered the hours they were open whatever reason probably because they dont have the support needed or the business. But at the end of the day I really try to support these people but I will no longer go back to this location for my Sushi needsI certainly would think twice about recommending this place to anyone in the future and its mostly because theyre not consistent not in their pricing nor their policies and they dont offer customers options, continue the practice and more customers will walk away. Obviously they didnt care because I WALKED AWAY UPSET ENOUGH TO WRITE THIS POOR REVEIW. You as a customer means nothing they dont care enough to let a loyal customer walked away with $44 a month over about $2 in their fees. Goodluck I hope you have other success with your customers but certainly not with meYou are welcome to email i will speak with anyone about my poor experance bout this place. What going to happen as more people move toward. cashless and use debit which is already happening.

The service was TERRIBLE. This was quite possibly the worst experience Ive ever had in a restaurant. The lady behind the counter was rude to me and was yelling at the chef. The chef fried my chicken and then took his lunch during my stay there. He turned around in his chair and stared at me with hate in his eyes for a good 10 seconds as I was eating my popcorn chicken. My chicken was undercooked and I got salmonella from it. Later that day I was violently sick and I realized he did this to me on purpose. Ive taken 2 days off work and will have to take the next 2 days off. Im NEVER coming back here.Ive reported them to Alameda Public Health Department.

Went to check out this place after seeing great reviews. Pulled up and wasnt impressed by the exterior or neighborhood, and nothing too fancy inside. However, the woman who took our order and helped us was so sweet! They were very busy (I think a huge online order came in before we got there), so they were a little frazzled, but we still did not feel pressured or rushed. We looked at the menu and were shocked at the prices - they are very competitive. We ordered a spicy tuna and lion king roll and a seaweed salad. The flavors on these rolls were amazing! The spicy tuna had the perfect amount of spice! One of the best Ive had in the area. We gobbled it up with no left overs and washed it down with a yummy thai iced tea. Will definitely return to this hole-in-the-wall spot when Im back in the area... Im looking forward to trying a poke bowl.

Enjoyed Sunday Brunch at this asian fusion spot! Little bursts of flavor throughout the meal made this a unique restaurant worth returning to. Plus, Ive got to try their cocktails sometime. ??The seared rice cakes with lap xuong sausage, scallion oil, fried shallots, pickles and pork and shrimp cotton were the star for me, with so much delicious glutenous texture and rich flavor.?Next fave was the broccolini with bright citrus in the mung bean cream and a touch of savory from the pork dust.?The baptism of pecorino over the savory ricotta donuts was impressive to behold, and tasty to consume, and the baked oysters accompaniments provided a nice shock to the taste buds to start the meal.?The tissue bread is an extra thin dosa-like batter with an addictive crunch. We also had an egg custard coffee, which was good but I should have gone with more actual coffee than cream.?We ended with the sesame mochis, that impressed me mostly due to the peanut sugar salt on top. Now that Ive had my run of their starter dishes, Ill need to try a main next time or a salad!

I usually dont go there! Putting out bad press and all. Let me lead with strengths. This particular Safeway location is laid out with a wide variety of products for consumer selection. It is well stocked and staffed. But heres the real! This particular Safeway profiled me upon immediate engress at their main point of entry. Just be aware because my choice was not to stay silent about what was a blatant premeditated act of profiling by the store manager and security gaurd; really tough situation, and I only wanted to shop. Instead I ended up pitted against forces of machinations of a reinforced negative narrative in the minds eye of a Safeway manager and a contracted guard.I contacted the Safeway headquarters in Pleasanton California, as well as the local Chamber of Commerce. I secured the numbers and names of contact for each entity in which to lodge my concerns. I went no further! However, Im happy to share my thoughts and reflections of my experience on this platform.San Leandro Safeway you cannot strong arm customers for their dignity! Implying a person is a criminal to justify criminal treatment of a perceived unwanted group will not fly.I no longer shop at this particular Safeway location.

Lot of rude and reckless drivers here so keep your young ones by your hip and dont assume theyll follow traffic rules.Once you make it safely on the curb the selection of places are not bad as theyll have something for everyone. In addition to the Safeway and McDonald, theres a decent Japanese place on the far corner, a hot dog stand, a Dollar Store with lot of quality products and even a Nothing Bundt Cake place. Theres also a Sam Wo Chinese BBQ place (if you order their BBQ stuff, make sure to keep an eye on their knife work) and a new Asian Restaurant (in the former Hometown Buffet space) called Fusion Delight with crowds that rival Kois Palace.
King Kong Dim Sum
14736 E 14th St, San Leandro, CA 94578, United States
Situated on a working class section of east 14th street in San Leandro, King Kong dim sum offers moderately low priced dim sum as well as other standard Cantonese fare in a distinctly working class setting. Its hardly a destination restaurant but it fits the bill if youre looking for authentic Chinese food that doesnt break the wallet.Dim sum is well, good. Items were made to order and items came out piping hot. For better or worse, dim sum looked to be made in-house and not from some outside dim sum factory like some other establishments. Portion size is large and it should be given the customer base. I suppose you could say their dim sum is slightly more rough inside the edgesThe beef chow fun we ordered was decent. Plenty of overly tenderized beef and bok chow and hoh fun with some wok hay. 8/10 for quantity and 6/10 for quality. They are not shy about using MSG.King Kong also sells roast duck and Chinese roast pork belly. I hear the roast duck is well priced, meaty and actually quite good. We didnt order it though.Service is efficient and the waitresses are fairly polite. The balding guy in his late 40s that sits in the corner oversees and runs the place.Parking might be a challenge on the weekends. There is a small parking lot at the end next to the Salvadoran restaurant. If you happen to be in the area and are looking for a solid Chinese restaurant, give King Kong a try. Go in with moderate expectations and they will be met
