Fresh Millions Restaurant San Ramon
2550 San Ramon Valley Blvd Suite #B2, San Ramon, CA 94583, United States
I frequent this Fresh Millions location often enough that I should have had a bad experience by now…except that I haven't. Every time I visit, there is someone friendly who helps me. One smile goes a long way, but consistently engaging polite staff nod to the leadership of the restaurant. I had a chance to speak with the owner on one occasion and she was sweet as pie.The food is prepared and made to order in an open kitchen - a testament to their confidence. Regardless of what I order, I am satisfied after I eat and I don't feel bad about what I just put into my body. I am incredibly selective about what restaurant I choose because I eat on a fairly restrictive diet. Most eateries make me feel sluggish and gross afterward. Not here.Thank you to all the staff, the owners, and the quality of nourishment I need. Also, the prices are affordable for such a healthy option. Well done, Fresh Millions San Ramon. Well. Done.
Bamboo Sushi
6000 Bollinger Canyon Rd #2201, San Ramon, CA 94583, United States
An entirely regrettable experience. The food is very, very, very overpriced. $21 for 4 pieces of salmon sashimi? I wouldnt mind the price if the quality was there. But the salmon was fresh-ish, and not cut properly. One sashimi piece was mangled. This isnt appropriate for the price. An actual sushi chef sent a shredded piece of sashimi out? Doubt. The chicken karaage was mostly batter; it was difficult to find any chicken in it. The waitress also corrected me when I ordered it. Im sorry for being an Irish-American who doesnt know fluent Japanese, but being corrected by another white person, and then being served pieces of batter, is laughable. Ive never felt corrected when I order chicken karaage from a Japanese-speaker. They didnt pronounce it correctly either; rolling the r isnt Japanese. Weirdly rude. I dont think it was intentional or mean-spirited; I think the servers are super young, and dont have the experience or training to understand good customer service. This is fine in a lot of jobs, but not where youre charging this much. High prices are for both the quality of the food and the skill of the servers. The Friday the 13th Roll, which is supposedly a salmon roll, has a core of salmon that seemed to be processed in a blender. and mixed with something that tasted like truffle oil. Its absolutely disgusting, and not how the item is represented on the menu. Ive never ordered a salmon roll that has the consistency of the crab in a California roll. Covering up the taste of salmon with overpowering oil and spice, along with blending it up, makes me suspicious of the quality and freshness.I ordered the chicken karaage, the friday the 13th roll, and salmon sashimi. My friend ordered edamame, a cocktail and a roll. The total was over $100. Absurd. A restaurant where I need to scan a QR code to even see the menu is not a restaurant with an ambiance to charge that much. Its a pretentious food truck. This place is not good, theyre trying to do weird stuff with sushi, the servers dont have experience and come off as rude, and the prices are ludicrous. Im sorry I went there, and I wont be back. The c casa, curry up, mendocino, delarosa are all better.
BurmaBurma
7294 San Ramon Rd, Dublin, CA 94568, United States
Came to Burma Burma after a fun day of shopping at the Outlets and generally, enjoyed some pretty good Burmese food, considering the area.We began with the obligatory tea leaf salad which was delivered pre-mixed. I mean, thats ok, but it also took away from the presentation which is one of the more enticing parts of this salad. Having said that, it had all the right ingredients and definitely satisfied the craving Ive had for this salad for a while now. For a second appetizer, we ordered the samosas which were of a good size and stuffed with thoroughly spiced potatoes, onions, and peas. They were freshly fried and delivered piping hot with sweet and sour chili sauce on the side. I really enjoyed this dish - recommended! For entrees, we went family style and ordered the pine nut fried brown rice and nan gyi dok as bases. The pine nut fried rice was delicious with the pine nuts and the brown rice both adding a unique nutty flavor! Recommended! The nan gyi dok was unfortunately not good which sucked because I love this dish. First, the dish was delivered pre-mixed which made all the crunchy bits (fried onions, fried wontons, yellow bean powder) soggy before delivery. Secondly, the curry was unexpectedly sweet which was kind of off-putting. There also just wasnt enough citrus to make the dish pop.For meat dishes, we went with the lamb kebat and the basil/dried chili swai. Both of these dishes, though flavorful, were also very heavy handed on salt. If we didnt have the fried rice, there definitely was no hope of eating them individually. Between the two, I like the swai more. The bursts of fresh thai basil were delicious! The lamb did have mint leaves, but they were definitely hidden by the rest of the ingredients which is unfortunately because lamb and mint are a wonderful pairing. All in all, dinner for 4 was filling and pretty tasty, easily a 3.5. I am rounding down for the service (or lack of). For the pine nut fried rice, we had originally ordered it with shrimp but it was delivered without it. Our waitress admitted that she forgot to put it in...which ok, I guess mistakes happen. While we wanted to send it back, we were also informed by the restaurant that they also wanted our table to be freed sooner rather than later because they had a big party coming. As a customer, it just felt rushed and like we werent a priority.

One House Bistro
2468 San Ramon Valley Blvd, San Ramon, CA 94583, United States
Arrived at noon on a Saturday, several tables already occupied with parties of 6-8. Lots of celebrating in the first week of January, which was really nice to see. I was immediately seated at the back of the restaurant for a party of one with no reservations. The restaurant quickly filled up thereafter. However, not all tables were reserved.Food was good, and service & hospitality were excellent. First impression, if you are familiar with the Son & Garden located throughout the Bay Area (or their sister restaurants, Daughter Thai, Farmhouse Thai, etc.), decor-wise, this is a knockoff from them. Son & Garden does a far better job in interior design and florals... Im referencing quality, colors, lighting, details and overall design placement. One House Bistro is pretty too with gilded accents, ceiling lined with freeways of florals and multiple crystal chandeliers. It feels over the top French.I ordered the Ginger Fizz Mocktail at $8. Not worth it for the price. It was basically a extra gingery beer soda.As an appetizer, I had the Tuna Tower at $18. Beautiful presentation, but it was a little overpowered with the mangoes, therefore came across extra sweet. It was served with very thin wafer-like shrimp chips. Each time I put a little spoonful of the tuna mixture onto the chip, it would break and make it messy to eat.For my entree, it was served five minutes after the appetizer. Service was quick, which was great for me, but good to note if you like your dishes timed out. I had the Tom Yum Spaghetti with prawns at $22, which was recommended by my server. It was delicious! The plump and juicy prawns were cooked perfectly swimming in a Tom Yum cream sauce with mushrooms and spaghetti noodles. It was rich and decadent, and I couldnt finish the bowl, so ended up taking half of it home.Total bill = $48 w/o tipMocktail, App, EntreeDo dress warm if you come to this restaurant, cuz it runs on the cold side. I recognize I was dining in early January and thought perhaps maybe its just me... I looked up, and everyone still had their jackets and/or scarves on!Overall, would I come back? Yes, I would give it another try. Im curious about their other apps and spaghetti entrees. Is this a regular occasion restaurant? Probably not. The food is pretty good, and as I mentioned before, the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend it for a girly luncheon, baby shower, etc.
Curry Pizza House
12191 Alcosta Blvd, San Ramon, CA 94583, United States
I recently had the pleasure of sampling the tandoori chicken pizza from Curry Pizza House in San Ramon, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The fusion of Indian and Italian flavors was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment the pizza arrived at my table, I could smell the tantalizing aroma of the tandoori chicken mingling with the crispy crust and melted cheese. And from the very first bite, I was hooked. The flavors were perfectly balanced, with the tanginess of the tomato sauce complementing the spicy tandoori chicken and the mild sweetness of the crust. One thing that really stood out to me was the quality of the ingredients used in the pizza. The chicken was cooked to perfection and had a tender, juicy texture that paired perfectly with the crispy crust. And the spices used in the tandoori seasoning were aromatic and well balanced, bringing just the right amount of heat to the dish without overpowering the other flavors.I have to say that Curry Pizza House in San Ramon has truly created a masterpiece with their tandoori chicken pizza. Its a unique and delicious fusion of flavors that any food lover should try at least once. If youre in the area, do yourself a favor and make a stop at this exceptional pizzeria. You wont be disappointed!
Sprouts Farmers Market
3181 Crow Canyon Pl Ste A, San Ramon, CA 94583, United States
Great food. Great Sandwiches from the Deli. The absolute worst business I have ever dealt with when it comes to answering and helping customers on the phone. If you call this store to order a sandwich from the Deli, you most likely will sit on the phone for 15+ minutes if you have the patience to wait. Just out of curiosity, while working at my desk, I tried to do an endurance test to see how long I could hold out and I have been on hold on the phone with this store for over 40 minutes. Im not sure if their phones have an audible ring.*EDIT 8/29/19* Just an update after multiple years for comparison and to see if there has been any improvement to this area of criticism.Still atrocious. Its clear that there are members of the staff that have no interest in customer service. An attempt to speak to someone on the phone in the deli was made 5 times.First attempt: Clerk answered the phone and happily transferred me to the deli. The Deli then picked up the line and immediately hung up.Second attempt: Line rings, is answered and then is hung up.Third attempt: Clerk answered the phone, apologized that I was hung up on (when mentioned *not aggressively, just matter of fact) requested I stay on the line and hed have someone get right with me. The Deli picked up the line a short while later, and then immediately hung up.Fourth attempt: Line rings, is answered and then is hung up.Fifth attempt: Line rings, is answered and then is hung up.I would also like to note that each time the line was picked up and hung up, it wasnt immediate. It was clearly manual as I could hear background noises of the store before the end click. This is not a big deal because I can take my business elsewhere. I like the sprouts chain, however, trying to deal with the San Ramon branch is the equivalent of inflicting pain on myself. It should be noted that the service standards of this location have not improved any over 3-4 years and the staff (at least part of it) has absolutely no interest in putting any effort into what they were hired for.
Boba Guys
6000 Bollinger Canyon Rd Ste 1217, San Ramon, CA 94583, United States
Did not live up to the hype (especially given we had to wait in a line so long it was out the door). It was just okay.-Dirty horchata: It looked cool with the espresso floated on the top layer, but the horchata tasted like very diluted rice water. The horchata was only minimally sweetened and I could barely taste the cinnamon—very different than what I have tasted from various authentic Mexican restaurants. The boba was mediocre since they were not particularly sweet and they were a bit firm, not as soft and chewy as they should be, and I even ordered 50% ice so they should not have been hardened by the coldness.-Ponche: I couldn't taste the star anise at all. Cinnamon flavor was almost undetectable but I did see and feel the cinnamon granules (which is not necessarily pleasant, especially if I couldn't taste enough of it). I ordered this with aloe, which was typical aloe, no complaints.-Classic Black milk tea with boba: my wife and cousin ordered this and said they were not impressed.
The Slanted Door San Ramon
6000 Bollinger Canyon Rd Suite 1300, San Ramon, CA 94583, United States
Overall, this restaurant is fantastic. I never went to the SF Slanted Door so to have it in San Ramon is convenient and nice. However, first things first: theres no clear sign for this restaurant! Of course, its rather easy to find since its the biggest and busiest restaurant at City Center but as far as I could see, there wasnt even a small sign indicating that this restaurant was the Slanted Door. But personally, I dont hold that against them, assuming that they want to keep some minimalist aesthetic. The interior of the restaurant, as one could probably tell from the outside, is very spacious. I went there with a friend for dinner and it was POPPING. Since it was Friday evening (at prime time dinner time), it was rather loud, but not noisy per se. We got bar seats which made it easier to have a conversation in spite of the high volume level in the restaurant. As to the food: this is the main reason why this restaurant is fantastic. I really wouldnt recommend this place for family dinners; more for dates and such. We ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer (from what I remember, there were 2 kinds of spring rolls but I dont remember specifically what we ordered; we got the non-vegetarian one). The sauce for the spring rolls really made it. For the entree, we got the most appealing thing: the wagyu steak ($46). Was it worth the price? YES. Thats a rather subjective YES but like I said, this place is for dates and a wagyu steak around here is something worth $46 to me. Dont know if the steak if dry-aged but nevertheless, it had a deep umami unlike most other steaks one eats. It comes with grilled spring onions and shitake mushrooms which are a great touch to the steak. One thing that the servers will tell you if you eat here for the first time is that everything on the menu is for sharing. Its not necessarily tapas-style or tapas-sized but its that general idea. Theres no mashed potatoes or extra vegetables that comes with your order. What you see is what you get on the menu. As to the menu, its rather compact, which I appreciate.Come to expect to spend almost $100, if not more, for two, if you want to be satisfied. Which is another reason why you shouldnt bring the kids here, especially pubescent ones who eat incessantly. Nevertheless, quality of the food and general dining experience was great and though I have certain reservations regarding the aesthetic appeal of the City Center architecture in general, Slanted Door San Ramon is probably one of the greater restaurants in quaint San Ramon!
Dumpling Time
6000 Bollinger Canyon Rd ste 1505, San Ramon, CA 94583, United States
SERVICE:Waited 10mins even with a reservation. Water cup had old food inside of it. They charge 4% living wage that DOES NOT GO TO THEIR EMPLOYEES. It clearly states this at the very bottom of their website. Every waiter was stressed even though the place was half empty. Took 15mins for a waiter to come to our table. They had an argument right next to us about how our table was reserved even though they already treated us like overflow walk-ins. Made us feel unwelcome. The waiter shoved the receipt in my face and stared at me while I was deciding on the tip. This kind of atmosphere is uncomfortable to say the least.FOOD:Dumplings were bland and not authentic. My dipping sauce for the seafood gyoza had a thick film on the surface from sitting out too long. Tasted carbonated and spoiled (had dairy in it for some reason). The sauce for their mushroom salad was better than any of the sauces they gave us for the actual dumplings. We were very disappointed. Many of the dishes desperately needed an acid to help with the copious amounts of oil that comes in their food and to help with the bland steamed meat.VERDICT:Overall we were very unhappy. I would order the mushroom salad again as a TAKEOUT item and never eat inside. I was about to leave due to the lack of consideration for their guests. If the food made up for it then maybe it would have been their saving grace. Instead, all we got was bland steamed meat served with little to no sauces. Id rather save the money and time and just stick to frozen dumplings. If they change the staff and decide to add more sauce variety then Im sure it would be tolerable.
