Kabuki Japanese Restaurant
201 N San Fernando Blvd, Burbank, CA 91502, United States
Its been some time since Ive gone into this place. I remember it always being consistently good which is why Im giving the food a solid 5/5. I just dont understand a few things. I walk in to eat something at the counter. It should be stated that the host was nice. I sat down in a spot where I knew I wouldnt be in the way or too close to others at the counter. The whole observation of courtesy thing... Anyway. I sit down and I order some sushi from the chef and I order and entree from the server. No issues there. The food tastes fine. And honestly, once you get over the fact that theres competitive bull riding competitions being televised at the sushi bar in a Japanese restaurant where you get to watch grown men voluntarily sign up to be flung from angry steers, the experience gets better. Not much better though because while youre eating you also get a server with seemingly no practical concept of personal space who sees NO issue with reaching directly over your head or across your person to get plates of food to take to other tables. Its almost as if she hadnt a care in the world that her arm was inches from my face. Its not like Im trying to eat without being startled or uncomfortable or anything like that... I wholeheartedly regret not just asking for a table. Then I would be completely oblivious to the sushi chef who clearly preferred the idea of drinking his Starbucks frappucino that was consistently placed oddly close to where he prepped food, and watching the bull riding competition on television. Maybe If I had sat somewhere else, I would have had a fine experience just like I remember having before. Overall the food was actually pretty good. Mainly, if the server had a basic concept of personal space and actually cared to be mindful that there was literally a patron she was reaching over, Im sure this would have been a relatively pleasant experience. This place can do better, Ive seen it before.
Salomi Indian & Bangladeshi Restaurant
11009 Burbank Blvd UNIT 116, North Hollywood, CA 91601, United States
Hello,This is my official review for this restaurant.I highly recommend and greatly approve of this establishment. Even after much critique and a return visit. I have confirmed the food here is amazing the sauces and spices used within are to be commended upon. The Lamb Tikka Masala is great as well as it is my second time ordering it.I have eaten a couple appetizers ( Meat and Vegetable Samosa) with the Mint sauce and Tamarind sauce which are both exquisite, even an infusion of the two sauces really is appealing to the palette. As well have I tried the Prawn Poori. If you read negative reviews pay them no mind, I am hardest on the critique of an establishment. This place is well worth the visit as well as it good on price for the quality of the food. Go here and try some great dishes. Thanks to all who took their time to read my review. Thanks and Cheers!-Georges
Wokcano
150 S San Fernando Blvd #20, Burbank, CA 91502, United States
Today me and my family went to Wokcano in Burbank. The front host was helping someone pay their bill. I asked if we could sit by the booth at the bar, she said sure we all sat down and less than a few minutes we all said it smells over here like sewage. So we got up and asked the gentleman who now was in the hosts spot who happened to be the Manager by the name of Kevin if we could move somewhere else because it smells over by the bar area like sewage he said we had a leak and were letting it dry out .I didnt see any fans or blowers either way he asked the female host to sit us all somewhere else, so she takes us to a small table at first where we all didnt fit since it was a table for 4 people, so she said lets move over here which was a corner booth and we all fit comfortably. We sat down and noticed how dirty the booth was just taking a look at the pictures. The picture frame above us was covered with dust that looked over a 1yr old of dust and the walls were filthy with stains everywhere. I asked our waitress if she could get the Manager for me she said sure .The manager was Kevin he walked over and said did I have a question and kneeled down by my side of the table and I said to him as a restaurant owner myself this place is filthy just take a look and he said my mistake I must of overlooked this area .I said to Kevin how can you overlooked this filthy it looks like its been here over a year, and I told him I was going to take pictures and send it to their Cooperate office he said thats fine. Kevin sent over 2 female waitresses 20 minutes later to wipe down the dust also by the window seals next to me. I also asked Kevin why the food isnt the same as their other location in Valencia he said were all different that I dont understand why it would be different since its all the same Franchise. We finally received our bill it was $208.00, and I told my wife to take a look at it to make sure it was correct, and she noticed a $26.00 meal we never ordered and when I told my wife to take a picture of the receipt the waitress grabs it and says I think I made a mistake? No she was trying to add a meal on our receipt for us to pay maybe for her meal till she got caught she revised the bill and brought it back at$184.01 we paid the bill and as a courtesy left her a $20.00 tip .I will not be going back here and before I forget my wife wanted to use the ladies restroom before we left so we all waited for her outside of the Restaurant and she came out and said the bathroom ? was filthy with a bag of Burger King in the toilet .I hope the department of health and safety shows up here.Kevin should be fired for doing a sorry job by not keeping the place sanitary for paying customers.

Season Thai Cuisine
166 E Orange Grove Ave, Burbank, CA 91502, United States
My husband and I visited this place over the weekend. We tried a couple of dishes. To start with, the pad thai chicken with shrimp was awful and we did not have any bite at all.We then ordered the chicken thai bbq (since we won't eat the pad thai). That did not impress as well as the chicken tasted like pork. When we ordered this entrée half way through our seating, the waiter simply asked if we don't want the pad thai dish anymore (it was full and we had no intentions of having any bite). We said that it tasted so bad and we will not eat it. The waiter simply removed the plate and did not care about any customer satisfaction. When the check came, we saw that the pad thai was included, so we had to pay for a full size untouched pad thai dish.PS: we also had the mongolian beef which is not that great but was not that horrid as well, the amount of meat was hilarious as it felt it was a vegetarian dish.Awful taste and experience.
JINYA Ramen Bar - Burbank
4011 W Riverside Dr, Burbank, CA 91505, United States
The decor here is wonderfully put together and the patio dining area is very inviting with the fire pit. Evening dining is romantic at both tables and the bar area.Quite a happening spot in Downtown Burbank, daytime hours are only hindered by the lack of convenient parking in the area. Plan ahead and youll be fine. Evening dining isnt much a problem. Street parking isnt too difficult. With so many examples following the ramen craze, southern California isnt short of restaurants to sample the many creations that are under ramen.Focusing on just the ramen, Jinya makes a crisp clean tonkatsu broth. It isnt heavy on creamy umami like other examples. It is lightly seasoned, and delightful. Noodles are pleasantly served al dente. Their style may fell quite different from what some maybe use to. For myself, I prefer a heavier broth as the tonkatsu broth is usually is.Ordering the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen was a little disappointing. The spice level was far from being the description. Also, some key ingredients that are usual were missing. A marinated egg is an option like many other items. The crispy fried chicken dish is absolutely delicious. It is fresh, crispy, and has some good size chicken pieces. This is a great dish to share if you came with friends to share. The poke bowl may require some work from their part. The amount of fish is a bit thin unless you wanted more salad than protein. The greens are plenty and a very healthy alternative. They have good vegan options and this is commended.

If I could give it 20 stars, I would. Easily the best, most filling Asian food Ive ever had. I typically order once a week or so. It feels pricey at first, but you will have leftovers. They also have smoothies and various drinks, which theyll add the tapioca balls into upon request, and they deliver!Really cant stress enough great things about the restaurant. Have ordered 5 times in the last seven weeks and the only issue weve ever had was they ran out of tapioca one night (and still delivered our drinks, which we wouldnt have wanted if they were out of the tapioca). Other than that, great filling food (highly recommend their Lo Mein!).
Lotus Chinese Cuisine
511 N Glenoaks Blvd, Burbank, CA 91502, United States
We discovered Lotus during the earlier days of the pandemic and are so glad we did. We call in orders regularly on weekends and have had blessedly few problems with anything. Delivery is free if you order more than $25 worth of food. Were glad they have their own driver; we can avoid extra fees and support their business more by contacting the restaurant. The lady who answers the phone for them on weekends is so sweet! She takes the order down correctly and reads it back well. As a result, weve never mistakenly gotten food we didnt order or not received something we did order. The driver is kind, quick, and efficient. Orders tend to be packed well so they dont spill. The food itself is good, without being super fancy or low-end. We order full entrees rather than lunch specials and havent had issues with portion sizes. They offer a good number of items so we havent tried everything but we do experiment from time to time, and there have been a few things that werent to our taste. We tend to enjoy their bao, chicken and string beans, shrimp dumplings, General Taos chicken, and duck (when we splurge on duck). Their sizzling rice soup is now a comfort food for me. Most of the dishes labeled spicy dont have a lot of burn; theyre fairly mild to us, but you can spice it up how you like it with the chili paste they often include. We picked up our food from the restaurant once so we could meet the staff in person (and they were as friendly as ever). We were impressed by how much seating was available; you should be able to fit a small, medium, or large group there, so long as they arent already full (calling ahead seems wise). Everything looked clean, which isnt always the case at other places these days. The restaurant itself was empty at the time and they said they were doing a lot more orders for delivery or takeout. I dont know if thats still the case, but if it is, dining in should be easy to do.
Yakis the Original Teriyaki
904 W Alameda Ave, Burbank, CA 91506, United States
Yakis has always held a special place in my heart. Their location in Monrovia was a popular pre football game meal stop (when it really should have been a post game meal stop). The Monrovia location has since closed, and now the corner of Alameda and Main is the spot. The menu and all its familiar flavors are the same and never disappoint. Yeah, you can go for the bowls, which range in size from small to 20-pound plates, but my order always stays the same, a yako cheeseburger, a bulldog, and a yakissito. The yako is your standard teriyaki cheeseburger but with a grilled chicken filet married into the melted cheese and topped off with onion, 1000 island and teriyaki sauces. To this day ive never had a burger quite like this anywhere else. Bougie that is I, Ill pay for a side of cabbage to add to the sandwich, it add texture and a bit of acidity that cuts through the melty burger/ chicken combination. In between bites, feel free to nibble on the bulldog. Now the bulldog is especially unique. It is a hot dog wrapped in american cheese and nestled inside a mustard coated spring roll. Accompanying the bulldog is a side of a 1/2 1000 island/ 1/2 teriyaki combination called froggy sauce. One dip and youre hooked. You have to finish off your meal with a deliciously fresh yakissito. The yakissito is a spring roll filled with a homemade pudding and deep fried. Definitely a once in a blue moon treat but worth every calorie. It comes out piping hot and satisfies like few desserts can.The vibe on the corner is lively and a great place to sit and watch the people and cars go by. Come hungry, leave satisfied seems to be the motto here no matter what you try, whether is a bowl, plate, or burger. The owner is always nice and usually either behind the grill or at the register hard at work. I always told them theyd make millions if they bottled both their teriyaki and froggy sauces. Lets hope that Yakis is still around in 50 years or as long as I can make it to Burbank. Looking forward to my next visit!
