Hop Li Seafood Restaurant
526 Alpine St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, United States
Not happy with your service. May look the part of a good looking Chinese restaurant but definitely not. Servers SUCK. Didnt get us water refills, totally forgot my beer. They ignored us completely, because they cater to non-asians more I think. When the servers checked on us, we were done eating already and splashed water all over the table. The server also bumped my head reaching over me. Would not recommend this place to Asians. Too bad.

Ekkamai Thai Restaurant
13223 W Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90066, United States
Horrible! The customer service is so poor. All the owners care about is taking your money. They cater to white or people who have no idea about authentic Thai food. I have been to Thailand. This food is garbage and a disgusting representation of Thai food. My order came to $25.91. I presented them with a valid coupon which read $5.00 off any purchase of 25.00 or more and the young, rude Asian girl at the cash register wouldnt honor it.The coupon did not specify in print the tax aspect. And they were really rude about it when I brought it up. I complained about false advertisement and I was told that the owner would call me which was a flat out lie because no one from Ekkamai Thai restaurant ever reached out to me. And they have my direct contact information. All they cared about was taking my money. I believe that this restaurant is not going to be in business much longer because they are acting desperate for Money without consideration for quality and customer satisfaction.

Chao Krung Thai Restaurant
111 N Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036, United States
Before we get to the actual service and food, lets talk about the environment, historically and now:THE DECOR & ENVIRONMENT: Pre and Post RemodelThe Chao Krung pre-remodel was a lovely, intimate, classic Thai restaurant with an intimate back room and a lovely old mural on the wall. The whole vibe was genuine (not faux) vintage Thai restaurant and was perfect as is.A couple or maybe a few years ago, Chao Krung was remodeled. The aesthetic isnt bad or unpleasant, just not very unique. Its modern with sealed concrete floors and big glass windows, seemingly edison or maybe halogen styled lighting, and a modern looking bar. Ceilings are seemingly much higher, post remodel, and the overall vibe, while just fine, is a bit colder, but not bad at all. Theyve continued to remodel and at the window front on the bar side, they took out individual tables and replaced them with a cliched communal table. Whatever....THE FOOD & SERVICE:Post remodel, Ive enjoyed a few meals there. The curry dishes are tasty (offered in yellow, green, and red varieties) as are other dishes. The service, up until the last time I ate there this past weekend, was friendly and nice as well. I dont know if theyve changed ownership, but the service was impersonal, totally lacking in basic attentiveness, and just generally sub-par. The food wasnt great, either. I wouldnt go back. For quite some time, particularly post remodel, the food is made with quite a bit of sugar, in fact too much in my estimation, and that hasnt changed. The overall difference I noticed in my recent visit is the food just wasnt very good; thats all.THE PRICE: Very nominal and even cheap, e.g. Pad Thai is, if I correctly recall, $11. Personally, Id rather pay a couple dollars more elsewhere for better quality.THE BEER: The house craft lager on tap is rather good. Nice and light, but with great taste and of rather good quality. However, Chao Krung doesnt serve Singha now! I know they used to serve it, but not anymore. Keep in mind, Singha is THE Thai standard in beer offering at any Thai restaurant. My only other option was some other brand I had no interest in ordering.OVERALL: Chao Krung used to be good. But I wont eat there again. Los Angeles has too many other options to settle for sub-par performance in a restaurant.

Golden Dragon Restaurant
960 N Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90012, United States
Everytime I drive anywhere near downtown, I stop by Chinatown to grab some goodies. Im part Asian and have actually come to this restaurant as a kid. I dont get much as I am just grabbing a few things to go, but I usually stop and grab a couple orders of Steamed BBQ Pork Buns (Cha siu bao) and Sesame Seed Balls. Not only is it cheaper buying it from the restaurant, it is better as well. I highly encourage anyone looking for some Chinese delicacies to give them a try. They have everything and always have parking right in front.

Hae Jang Chon Korean BBQ Restaurant
3821 W 6th St, Los Angeles, CA 90020, United States
MacReeves and I came here for the $40 weekend dinner (no lunch menu on weekends) and were a bit overwhelmed by the endless parade of meats to each table. But that's what we came for: the stuff of a carnivore's raciest dreams. An array of pretty good banchan arrives first, including potato salad, kimchi, bean sprouts, a lovely green vegetable that was like spinach on steroids, fish cake, daikon, etc, either pickled or cooked and dressed with sesame oil and soy sauce. When the first enormous serving of meat came out to be grilled table top, we knew we were in trouble. Thereafter we were careful to request half orders only. We had marinated beef short rib, bulgogi, spicy marinated pork, shrimp, baby octopus, beef belly and one other type of beef which escapes my memory. No wonder, because after awhile I became semi-comatose from the grotesque amount of protein in consumed. TBH the meats were all bland except for the spicy pork. Even the hot bean paste and dipping sauces did little to enhance most of the meats and seafood. In addition to the meats and banchan we had kimchi pancake, green salad and spicy tofu soup. The pancake was thick and rubbery but the other two items were fine.We had peach soju, Pellegrino and water to drink.Service was just okay, as our server was quite busy rushing around. I had to ask two or three times for rice and twice for water refills.Tab came to about $100 before tip.I would go again for weekday lunch which is a good deal at $30.

Foo-Chow Restaurant

The place had memorabilia from the move Rush Hour, staring Jackie Chan. The food was good. It was busy and hard to get our servers attention. Nice place though. Mom and pop kinda Asian restaurant.

Yuchun Restaurant
3185 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90006, United States
Yuchun is my go to spot for Korean noodles and dumplings in Los Angeles.I must note in advance though that the service is not that great. Essentially, this restaurant is a great example of a restaurant serving amazing food but lacks in service. If you are asian, I am sure you can think of a handful of restaurants like this. Regardless however, I can almost guarantee, that you will find yourself coming back for the food.Yuchun is known for their cold noodles, whether this is their mul naengmyeon (물냉면) or bibim naengymyeon (비빔냉면). The main difference between the two is one is served with a cold broth* and the other is served with a cold sweet and spicy, red sauce.*In case you are not familiar with how to eat mul naengmyeon, you are generally given vinegar and horseradish to season your cold broth to your taste. The white vinegar gives the broth a tanginess and the yellow horseradish sauce is there to give it a little kick if you like spicy foods. Do note that horseradish sauce is in essence what is used to create wasabi. If you add too much it will affect your nasal cavity first.Yuchun is also known for their (김치왕만두) or giant steamed kimchi dumplings. I absolutely love these dumplings and would 10/10 recommend! The restaurant sells its frozen dumplings by the bag so you can purchase them if you would like. While you are there, do not forget to take advantage of the self service hot broth offered. It’s called yooksoo (육수), or savory beef stock. People typically drink this before eating the cold noodles. In case you needed further elaboration regarding my note above, this location gets pretty packed during the day and the staff is understaffed, with the more skilled kitchen workers occasionally not being present, leading to Yuchun being “sold out” of menu items. Service may also be a bit worse to guests who do not speak Korean as the hired staff are generally Korean and/or speak limited English. If service is king for you, you may not like this restaurant. However, I highly recommend you to at least try the food before making a verdict.(By the way, the noodles at this location are better than the ones at the new location that opened up in Buena Park).

Bamboo Cuisine - Restaurant & Bar - Chinese Foo...
14010 Ventura Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 91423, United States
The main courses were good and the price was affordable. Ill give them that. However, the service was terrible and the soups were horrible. They didnt care when we told them that. The waiter was like whatever. All in all: I would choose a better option next time. Plenty of great asian restaurants out there will provide a better culinary experience.

Sib Song Thai Restaurant
2202 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026, United States
The name of the restaurant is now Bangkok Palace. I was there today and had the ginger chicken from the lunch special menu. Great deal- just $7.95 and it includes fried rice or white rice, spring roll, salad and a fortune cookie at the end. The ginger chicken was tasty, as was the panang curry which my guest had. The salad was very fresh and portions were adequate. Our server was friendly and courteous and mentioned the name change occurred about a year ago. I think she said it was under the same ownership. It was a pleasant dining experience and I will be back to try their dinner menu items.

Pimai Restaurant
5833 Franklin Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90028, United States
A neighborhood, family run restaurant my own family has enjoyed for more than a decade! Their food is always fresh and tasty and the owners are lovely people. (The mango sticky rice is also a special treat) The owners' kids are often there, hanging out while their family runs everything required - the true definition of a family establishment. My kids have enjoyed having friends there over the years, and we've enjoyed having the kids there, too. Los Feliz/Hollywood/Silver Lake have myriad dining options but I have *never* regretted a meal or a delivery from Pimai and I don't expect I ever will. Ignore any of the grumpy reviews here. Pimai is great!
