Mackys Noodle House
917 W Duarte Rd, Monrovia, CA 91016, United States
The variety and options of noodle types is nice to have. The soup is pretty tasty also. The owners dont hire enough staff so during peak hours, expect to wait for a table. Not because there arent any available, but because the staff are so busy running around they dont get to cleaning off a table for you for 15+ minutes. Most staff are pretty friendly though most have also mastered the Asian restaurant technique of staring right at you while not making eye contact and ignoring your hand waving for service. Their non noodle soup food items are pretty good too.The parking is shared with good fortune market and a few other good and drink places. It can get packed and hard to find parking at peak times. Overall a good noodle restaurant with consistent quality.

I visit this location unaware customers have to wait outside and be allowed inside by an employee. I enter the location and the person filling orders never told me I had to wait outside he said it was fine and he would take my order. Then a Hispanic lady assuming she was the manager along with an asian lady with man short hair were extremely condescending with very ride gestures and attitude talking with each other and pointing at myself. The asian lady was extremely rude with direct gestures with her hands to kick me out. I was literally shocked with such gestures and behavior towards a paying customer who not only is doing them a favor by eating there but also giving them a job.The only reason I went there was because my daughter wanted noodles we dont consume such food and I had never experienced such behavior and attitude by an employee.I definitely will never return and will file a complaint via corporate I believe this is unacceptable and extremely unacceptable.. I believe during such trying times its a privilege to get a customer to consume and spend money in such unnecessary items therefore I dont believe this is acceptable and I will expect an apology and a follow up on these two very unprofessional employees starting with the acting manager because she sure didnt show any knowledge on how to do her job..

Good food. Bad vibes. This is a family favorite, weve been coming here for years. I will rethink about that. Only for the simple fact that when I ordered today Friday January 19th 2024 at approximately 330-4:00 p.m. Whoever is behind the cash register is a snot. I never had this experience at this establishment before. I got to experience a young little snotty thing behind the counter, taking my order. She was very rude/ pretentious .There was no reason, I ordered as normal but apparently I felt I wasnt going fast enough for her, I am older and my vision isnt the greatest. To top it off After giving me phouchy energy, she was the same person that gave me my order bags. She made sure to still have an attitude (her tone /, the way she looked at me) and the way she just threw in the packets into my bag. It was quite spectacular, and absolutely unnecessary. Is that unusual for Los Angeles? Probably not. However, do I really need to deal with this when I have the freedom to choose the establishments I want to support? No.

I ordered a chicken bowl and vegetables on the side and this is how they make there customers happy? With a skimpy bowl, for the workers... is it coming out of your own money?, cuz thank God it wasnt or else you would make it even more skimpier, what a shame we pay 10 dollars and more for some rice and chicken and they cant even fill the bowl correctly, dip ***** if I wanted a skimpy bowl I would have had the vegetables inside with the rice, wont come here anymore! Beware not to order vegetables on the side because there going to give you less then what it even would be with the vegetables in the bowl!

If your a fan of boba drinks you should definitely give this place a shot! Ive already been here way too many times since they opened, its honestly kind of sad.So far weve tried their classic milk tea, brown sugar milk drink, and a few of their fruit teas and all of them were amazing. You can actually taste the tea in their tea drinks unlike other places where it tastes mostly like sugar/syrup. We do get the tea drinks half sweet but thats mostly a matter of preference. The brown sugar milk drink (I dont know any of the actual drink names) is especially good. The milk they use tastes like the expensive Strauss milk from Sprouts and goes really well with the brown sugar syrup and boba. The boba is nice and chewy and not overcooked, the pudding is pretty standard but good, and the agar boba Im actually quite a fan of though I know some people dont care for the texture.Overall this is an amazing boba spot, and I really hope people give it a chance because I think this is their only location and its just as good as (if not better) than some of the other (also very good) boba chains nearby.
Dr. Domotors Animal House
135 W Foothill Blvd, Monrovia, CA 91016, United States
Appalling and horrendous. Thats the only way to describe my experience. Yesterday, as I was riding my bike past Dr. Domotors around 4:45pm, I noticed that there was a dead parrot in the grass in front of the Animal Hospital. I figured some low-life that couldnt be bothered to properly dispose of it had left it there to make it another persons problem. Well, it became mine.I went inside and told the lady at the front desk that there was a dead parrot outside of the building. When she looked at me like she didnt know what to do, I offered to bring it inside if she gave me a box and a pair of gloves. A lady came out in scrubs, and the first lady asked her if she would take care of it. Her response was Im off the clock. Cant you call Animal Control? The first lady then thanked me for telling them and assured me they would take care of it.Well, I guess everyone was off the clock. They didnt do anything, not even call Animal Control. In this case, that would be the Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA. I called them this morning after I walked past the building and the bird was still there. When I called Dr. Domotors to let them know what happened, I didnt even get a response, they just hung up on me without saying anything. To make it clear, I would have been willing to take care of the bird myself in other circumstances. Years ago, driving past a restaurant I worked at (on my day off), I noticed a dead cat in the road in front of the building. I stopped, borrowed a shovel, and buried the cat away from the building. Had I not, theres no telling how long it would have been there. Its also less likely that the litter of kittens with her, which were still alive, would have been saved. I dont usually carry a shovel on my bike, and I wasnt about to put a dead parrot in my pocket so I could rub it with my thumb like Lenny Small.I also understand that you might be wary about a dead animal, and want to take certain precautions before exposing it to other animals. There is absolutely no excuse for just leaving a dead animal in front of an Animal Hospital overnight, or even for ten minutes. Perhaps at least somebody there has a brain and genuine concern for animals, but at least three dont. If you take your pets there, good luck with the ones that end up handling them.
Thai Thyme
614 S Myrtle Ave, Monrovia, CA 91016, United States
I came to Thai Thyme for the first time this past Sunday and was just blown away. I was so impressed with the food! The food was so tasty and fresh. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Chef and owner Thai came to our table and told us about his food and about his love and passion for cooking that started when he was a young kid. He shared his journey that brought him here to opening this beautiful restaurant with the help of his beautiful wife. His wife always encouraged him to share his talent with everyone from her yoga friends, friends, and now all of us. She is absolutely lovely and also is working here. Wow he sure has a great eye and a natural talent for interior decorating too! This place is so beautiful with great energy flowing throughout it. Thai is so friendly and so humble. I feel like he treated us like family with such warmth. I was super impressed to know that he doesn't use oil when he cooks. He uses a wok and cooks his meat at 450 degrees so the only oil in this food is the oil from the meat itself. I'm so happy my friend Nichole chose to eat here because it was the best Thai food I ever had and the best experience I have had eating at a restaurant.
