Kai Sushi Restaurant
13425 Poway Rd, Poway, CA 92064, United States
We found this place randomly searching for food. Its such a cute space. We didnt realize they had the bell to call for service(just like in Japan) until we finished eating. They were so present I didnt even realize they had that. We went at 730-810pm on a Friday night. I spent 10-15 minutes just looking at the menu items because they had some interesting renames. I love their white sheet of information that lists the roll names and the ingredients(not sure if I was supposed to order with that sheet). The kids bento box portion was massive. I should have had both kids share 1 dish but one wanted sushi and the other wanted a bento box. The prices of hand rolls are great. My 7 year old barely finished a CA handroll(it was huge), my 5 year old barely made a dent in her delicious chicken teriyaki bento, and my husband ate more than half of full size chicken teriyaki bento. I got a UFO roll and was soooooo full. It was such a massive roll that could have been 2 lunches for me. The portions are huge in a bento box, sushi roll and kids bento. They gave us a free piece of salmon(fin or tail). It was delicious. My son asked for extra crumbles of tempura on his CA roll so it doesnt normally look like what it does in my photo of his roll. The prices are good considering the portion size is the largest out of all the places in SD I have been to. Its an easy place to bring the small kids to eat. Although there is no coloring pages to distract them, the food comes out super quick.
Panda Express

Bad customer service with Asian Female employee. With no customers in the restaurant around 3:30pm, customer will have to wait a while before being helped or greeted. Very small portion size, had to ask to give a bit more. Rushes you to order.Did not have a good experience ordering this time at this location.Unfortunately, there is always a bad apple employee in each Panda store that is full of attitude and provides poor Customer service.Another Panda location on my blacklist.
Ph Ca Dao & Grill
12719 Poway Rd, Poway, CA 92064, United States
Ordered lastnight and as we got home and preparing for dinner, I noticed that an item was missing. It was the extra grilled chicken. I called the restaurant and spoke to one of the asian lady employee and explained to her the situation. She said to come back the next and bring the receipt. I went back to the restaurant the following day and spoke to the lady manager. She said that she only knew about the DRINK issue and not the chicken which I had explained again to her. She called the person that I talked to yesterday and couldnt understand what was going on. I even said that I will order more food but I want them to add the missing item yesterday, and she went in the kitchen and argued with the chef and couldnt decide what needs to be done over a $5 item. I told her that I will not order anything any more and demanded my refund! I got soo upset that a restaurant manager is incompetent and unable to make a decision over a $5 item that they messed up on. I dont recommend coming in to this restaurant because we know for a proven fact that their food isnt as good as other local vietnamese restaurants in the area. They are more expensive that the other Asian restaurants and you always have to worry about your missing order. No wonder, another customer was very upset yesterday as I was about to leave with my order. Another unhappy and upset customer. Seems like theres a trending pattern with this place.
Bua Thai
12378 Poway Rd Suite C, Poway, CA 92064, United States
Bua Thai is a quaint Thai restaurant tucked into a strip mall in Poway. Dont let the location fool you though, you walk on and the resteraunt is beautiful inside. My daughter and I shared the drunken noodles with beef and the crab fried rice and it was so good! You can order your dishes on a spice range of mild to hot (1 through 10). We got midway at 5 and it had just enough kick but not so much you burnt your taste buds. The drunken noodles were long and thin, perfect to soak up the tasty sauce and it was loaded with fresh carrots and plenty of thinly sliced beef. The crab fried rice, oh that rice. I have never had anything like it before. A large plate piled high with perfectly delicate fried rice and tons of real crab. They have something for everyone from noodle and rice dishes to soups and appetizers and even dessert. Plate prices range but are well worth the cost and each plate has plenty to share. I would suggest getting a few items, bringing some friends and checking Bua Thai out. The staff is wonderful, there were only two employees helping that we saw but they were super friendly, very helpful and on the bal with everything. The food and drinks came out hot and pretty quickly. For sure check them out! Cant wait to go back!
Joyee dumpling house

Finally got a chance to try this place out. My family decided to place an order for take out for dinnerWe ordered to try out..-Pork Wonton Soup-Combination Chow Mein-Smoke and Salt Duck-Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings)I was very excited but after trying these items I came to be disappointed. The pork wonton soup was bland. The broth tasted more of seaweed but the wontons made up for it. By far one of the best wontons Ive had yet.The combination chow mein was bland as well. And it was mostly vegetables and found it odd it had scrambled eggs in it. I was disappointed there was more veggies than noodles. Although the beef, chicken, and shrimp was in abundance to make the lack of noodles and flavor.Im not a big fan of duck and I would pass on this entree. The duck had a weird after taste. Maybe cause of the smoke flavor? It was not appetizing.Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) was a let down. There was no soup in the soup dumplings.Service was quick and easy to place over the phone (there was something wrong with their online ordering system). I want to like this place but so far not a good start. I will give it another try on my next vist and hope that this place will pick up in quality and taste.
Takhrai Thai
12265 Scripps Poway Pkwy, Poway, CA 92064, United States
***update: the food is now almost as bad as the service, and the service is seriously the worst Ive ever gotten anywhere. Even to go orders are impossible to get in a reasonable time. What a shame.... someone needs to open a decent Thai place in the neighborhood. This place needs to go out of business. In honestly surprised it hasnt already.***The food is almost always good, and usually fantastic. Weve been eating here for 12 years. The past 5 years or so, the service has been getting progressively worse. They really need more people on the floor: a hostess, a designated to-go order person, an extra server or 2 during rush hours...Its sad because we love the place. We still get take-out regularly, but we wont dine in anymore. Its just too painful.
Tong Sake House

Overall: Part of me is unsure how I feel about this place. Service was a little slow (poor girl, only one server for 6 tables and take out), ambience was nice, and food was good (but it didnt taste like regular Japanese food). +1 pointsFood: +0.5 starsOyster Jalapeno Udon: Weirdly enough, I liked the jalapeno add to it. There was no oyster taste and the little random ones on top is weird.Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl: It was a large portion but it had random slices of dill pickles...weirdTonkatsu Ramen: The brother was whiter than other broths. It was flavorful but something was...offMiso Ramen: The broth was a lot sweeter, didnt taste like traditional misoPlum Wine: It was pretty good :) but my friend didnt like itService/Staff: Getting water or the bill took a long time. Almost considering paying cash to leave. I felt bad because there was only one server for taking out and handling 6 tables and walk-ins. +0.5 pointsPrice: The price was not bad. It was pretty normal. 12 bucks for ramen +1 points
Crispy Chicken n Tomato - ScrippsPoway

I came for the lunch special and I wasn't disappointed. I've ate at plenty of Korean places but this had the Yakisoba Combo with honey soy chicken wings. It was very tasty and it wasn't overpowering. The classic mild wings were also very good! The spice was perfect and I was wanting more. The corn slaw goes really well with both the combo and it balanced greatly with the greasiness. The chicken was tender and crunchy as well as the onion rings. Food itself is delicious and the atmosphere is chill. Portion size is great for two people so sharing is always an option. Service from staff is great. There is also self checkout if you don't want to order at the counter. Overall great experience and I definitely recommend it!

Cute new restaurant in Poway. I hope they make it because the food is really good. You order at the counter and your order is delivered to your table when they come out.Its a new establishment and since they make your food to order, it takes awhile to come out. My friends order came out much sooner than mine. She was halfway done with hers before her drink order and mine came out.Its a small place so theres only 3 small tables inside with a couch and two bistro tables outside.I was checking out the other food orders coming and being delivered to other customers. Everything looks really nicely plated. The tuna Asian salad was a beautiful dish and my friend really enjoyed it. I ordered the mushroom and potatoes dumplings and that was absolutely delicious. Will definitely come back to try their other dishes!
Greens Please Wellness Kitchen

If you want the BEST tasting and healthy vegan food in San Diego, look no further. I found this place from all the great reviews when I was trying to find some decent green juice in San Diego. BUT I found something much better: a vegan cafe with many entree dishes PLUS forget the green juice, there are organic green smoothies here in a startling array of combinations and ingriedients. All whole food. All perfect. They have fresh soups made-in-house everyday (split pea, turmeric, cream of broccoli, etc.). They are ALL fantastic (and keep in mind, they are vegan so no dairy, no soy, no sugar, etc.... how do they do it?). Wonderful people working here. Then there are the green smoothies - all made of organic vegan ingredients. I like that they have such a range of healthful choices. Too many options to list. I generally choose the ...Fresca (it has a longer name which I dont remember) or the Good News. These are both amazing green smoothies with a variety of ingredients, low calories and no fruit juice (whole fruit instead). I am drinking my Good News right now and it has things like dark leafy greens, apple (not juice - it is the actual fruit), banana, alkalized water, chia seed, flax seed, and kelp.Did I mention the vegan Nachos, and Mediterranean Quinoa bowl? These have the most amazing whole foods in them - trust me you have never had such compound vegan foods before. And the Lentil Asada is to die for. You wont be bored - and you will be saturated with super healthy, yummy foods. Quick shout out to owner, Ben - that Turmeric Tonic recently saved me from a respiratory infection in less than a day. I swear by it now. Thanks!
