Pepper lunch is supposedly Japanese, but seeing kimchi and soju on the menu made me think this was a Korean place. That's okay, as long as the food is good, I don't care what kind of place it is. Met up with a friend here to catch up and try something new. I am not familiar with San Lorenzo, but this part of town seems okay. A plaza with plenty of parking so I was relieved that I didn't have to look for street parking. When I got to the restaurant, I was even more confused. It's selling milk tea. Then I heard the server speaking in Mandarin. Okay, maybe this place is owned by Chinese. Oh well, perhaps this place has an identity crisis. Lol.I ordered curry beef rice with cheese. It came out sizzling and I had to quickly cook and move the beef slices before they were overcooked. I throughly enjoyed the beef slices. I wish they added more cheese so that the plate was more gooey. Perhaps I was spoiled and ruined by Daeho's gooey and cheesy Kalbijim, but I digress. This place did a decent job of making pepper lunch dishes. I would go back and maybe next time I would even order their milk tea.

Scrumdiddlyumptious! Always! This is one of my top 3 favorite Indian restaurants. I really love the buffet and so does my babys dad period we are adventurous eaters and we have been to many Indian restaurants. I recommend this place. They have built a nice new open patio on the side of the building. Its beautiful. They must have paid a lot of money to have that built. And it has four outdoor heaters down the center aisle table and chairs on each side of them. It has a nice calming fountain also if they have it plugged in. You can plug it in yourself also period but the food I just cant even find the right words to describe the food the lamb is always so tender and the goat is tender as well and the chicken and everything its just fabulous. Ive been to other Indian restaurants that dont cook the goat long enough. It has to be boiled for a long long time before its ready to fall off the bone . I am an AB negative blood type, so I am to avoid red meats. The following meats are beneficial to my blood type. Lamb, goat, rabbit and turkey. I do have corned beef once a year sometimes Ive had it twice. I like prime rib and top sirloin but once a year is good enough. I cook Indian food at home on occasions. Not all the time its too much sodium to have all the time. And they add salt at these restaurants even though they dont have. It tastes fine with all other spices these dishes are made with. Love love love this restaurant havent had a bad experience yet. Thanks dudes.

Came in for lunch and were seated right away. The table was clean, not sticky like alot of places. We started with Gòi Cuòn the shrimp spring rolls, these were so fresh and the peanut sauce was really good and nice and thick. Then we ordered the Phó Tái Chín with rare beef & brisket, the broth was really good. Also had the Bún Chá Giò with egg rolls, this was also delish, one of my faves. There are many items on the menu to choose from. Service was ok, i think they could do better checking if customers need a fill up on drinks or see if anything else was needed. Not just looking at them from behind the cashiers counter. The restaurant is clean and nice ambiance.

Came here at 9:55pm was knocking on the very front door facing hes blvd and it was locked. It wasnt until i saw someone come out of another door facing bac rd that i even knew there was another way into the building. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a very rude anger man telling me their closed and i cant wash my clothes. As im talking to him the clock says 9:58pm and im telling him the last load is at 10pm and he said “ya so were closed” he sat there and argued with me and wouldnt allow me to wash my clothes. Who ever runs this place. Seriously needs to talk to their employees. I wasted my time and gas coming here from San Leandro because the last load was at 10. Now i have to find probably a 24 hour laundry mat in order to get my clothes done. There was no reason forHim to treat me so badly and be flat out mean and rude. I was literally watching a woman start her washing machine as hes sitting there arguing with me. Like i cant believe for a second any business would want this to be what they are all about. I took q video of him blowing me off and in the video you can see him unlock the front door i originally tried to enter into to get the carts that were placed outside. And i know for a fact im not the only person hes treated like that. How much business do you have to lose before you talk to your employees and let them know you dont want this to be what your business stands for. Im seriously speechless and don't appreciate my time and gas being wasted for someone who clearly gates their job and where they work to take his miserable life out on me. My advise. Dont come here. Its not worth the head ache. You could literally go anywhere else in the bay area and be treated with far more respect and human decency. Unbelievable
Avilas Taqueria

Javier, the taco guy, is usually great, but Friday April 7, 2016 Javier was not great. Why? Because he only gave half the tacos I paid for. I had to go back Sunday to get my tacos which Javier reluctantly made. Thanks to Sr. Avila (Javiers boss) I got my tacos. I didnt complain they didnt have the cheese and crema I paid for. I was just happy to get the tacos. Javier was condescending. He may very well be oblivious to his mistake, but paying customers deserve to be treated with more respect. I have noticed that neighborhood mexican restaurants primarily cater to mexicans who identify as non-Americans and Americans looking for authentic Mexican food. To the latter, I have this to say. If youre a guerro and Javier is on taco duty, be sure to check your order for mistakes, because Javier isnt perfect. Though he is a good cook, his math is LOUSY!!!!
Hong Kong Cafe

This may be an authentic Chinese restaurant (owners are Asian), but the food is EXTREMELY bad. I took my Chinese parents here and they hated it. The service was also rude because they literally stare you down while you eat, felt like they wanted us to hurry up and leave. Another negative was that we were one of the only tables eating there, since most people order take out. With most authentic Chinese restaurants, you will find a flock of Asian aunties and uncles chit chatting. I have been here to try the baked rice and that is okay, but if you are looking to try the stir fry items, it is WAYYYYY too salty. My family and I chugged so much water with every bite. To wash down the salt, we probably each drank 10 cups of hot tea. If you are looking to find real and good Chinese food that isnt too salty, please look elsewhere. Too much salt is NOT good for your cardiovascular health. Chinese cuisine is typically very umami-rich and low in salt.

A little bit of everything. friendly service. good selection of various asian and filipino foods and ingredients at good prices, but also an aisle for the standard white american, and and aisle for hispanic foods. entire wall of different types of noodles. one aisle just rice, teas, hot chocolate and coffee. i get chicory coffee from new orleans here.fresh fruit and vegetables. their seasonal produce, espec fruit is often local, so inexpensive and ripe. also things like durian and jackfruit in season.some frozen foods, and a fish market. i have not shopped either of these areas, so cant really comment.
Lucky
15840 Hesperian Blvd, San Lorenzo, CA 94580, United States
Be careful coming to this Luckys to get what is on sale as advertised in their weekly ad. I believe they use a bait n switch tactic. Several times I've came here for their sales, and every time they claim to run out of sales items, even tho I came on Wednesday, the first day of the sale! Anyway, last week I tried to get some chicken breast .99 cent per lb, St. Louis ribs 1.99 per lb, and shrimp 4.99 a lb as advertised! When I got there, there were none of these items! All I seen was ribs that cost 3.99 per lb. Mind you, these ribs were all over the place with the sign “these ribs are not the sale ribs” or something like that. Ok, so where's all the ribs on sale!! They ran out they said!?? Wait, that's not the best part! They have this guy working at the meat department that appears to be really racist against Asians. He's a pretty big guy. Dark hair, over 6ft, maybe a mustache. But this guy was giving all the Asians dirty looks cuz u assumed they were gonna start asking him about the ribs and other things that suppose to be on sale. He seems very uptight and looks like he would explode if any Asian asked him a question. Later I seen some asians looking around in the meat section. Then the racist guys comes out and starts screaming at them saying, “those are not the ribs on sale! We are sold out!” and gives a motion of his finger across his neck like no more!!!For one thing, these Asian ladies didn't say or ask this guy anything. He just assumed all Asians there are after sale products and started screaming at them. He's a real jerk and as long as he's there, I will not be shopping there. I have already told all my Asian friends what happened and they all said they will boycott that store until that man is no longer working there. Luckys, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Peking Garden Restaurant
15950 Hesperian Blvd, San Lorenzo, CA 94580, United States
I've never written a bad review on a restaurant, but I've never been to a restaurant where the employee talks and raises the voice at a customer. An older lady whos english you can bearly understand spoke to me in such a rude way. I went in for a pick up. I asked for my order in which another lady proceeds to ignore me and place an order on the counter. The old lady then comes and screams at me for touching the order. AGAIN the previous lady did not say a work to me an just placed the order on the counter after I had asked for the order. The older lady proceeded to tell me “cant you hear she said not to touch it”. In which i replied that the lady hadnt told me anything but place the order infront of me and turned around thinking it was my order. The older lady proceeded to scream at me in which I just left and didnt even bother to even get the order. Its so humiliating. This restaurant has constant racism and never decided to to leave a bad review. Im always about respecting employees but this older lady made feel like complete garbage.
Teriyaki City Grill - San Lorenzo
488 Lewelling Blvd, San Lorenzo, CA 94580, United States
Think of this like a Japanese inspired version of Panda Express. The format is the same, quick service, reasonably priced Asian food but with items like chicken or beef teriyaki, rice, steamed veggies. Its a good option if you need something quick or maybe to fill a weeknight dinner instead of cooking. Food looks made fresh to order. They have a Lion Roll bake, similar to a sushi bake but with salmon, imitation crab and avocado. This was pretty good but they charge per pack of nori/seaweed. A sushi bake goes hand in hand. They should throw in one or two packs with the order. Its only $1 per pack, but there arent many sheets of seaweed included. The restaurant itself is new and clean. Good amount of seating. Its pretty easy to miss their parking lot entrance. By the time I realized it, I had passed it but parked in the dental office lot. It was a Saturday afternoon and they looked closed anyway. But just a tip, to keep an eye out so you dont miss the entrance.
