Happy Buddha Kitchen
5551 Rosemead Blvd, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
This is the only vegan Vietnamese restaurant in the area. The dining area is neat and very clean. There are plenty of parking. The menu offers a good selection of rice dishes and pho noodles. The soup is as good as the regular pho soup. Their spring rolls is a must order - the best above all vegan and regular Asian restaurants in SGV.4.5 stars. 0.5 star off for the annoying background music.

Northern Cafe (Temple City)

My parents came here to eat multiple times and told me this place had good food, so we came here together for dinner. They have a good amount of tables and 3 private rooms. We were seated fast since it wasnt that full inside. We ended up ordering the lamb soup, thick green onion pancakes, duck, sauteed green beans, and pork dry tofu. They were served in around 10 minutes, not too long. The duck didnt really match my tastes but my parents enjoyed it. As for the green beans and dry tofu, both were too salty and I had to eat it with rice to stomach it. I guess people with heavier taste buds would not have a problem with those. As for the pancake, it was alright but it was seasoned a bit too heavily with black pepper. The soup was probably the best of all of them (close second would be the pancake) but was a bit too oily. The dishes overall well pretty average and somewhat lacking compared to its prices. There are much better tasting Chinese restaurants in this area at around the same price. The portions are also average. For some reason, they like to use very large plates that take up a lot of space on their small tables even though portion isnt that much. I wouldnt come back again. Probably would recommend for those who just want to give this place a try once.

Phoenix Kitchen
9225 E Las Tunas Dr, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
Nestled in the heart of Arcadia, Phoenix Restaurant offers a delightful culinary journey through Southern Chinese desserts and Cantonese comfort food. As a frequent patron, it has become my go-to destination whenever cravings for authentic Cantonese flavors arise. One of the highlights of Phoenix Restaurant is their traditional approach to crafting dishes, exemplified by their exquisite red bean paste soup. Cooked using the time-honored method with dried orange peel and lotus seeds, this dessert embodies nostalgia with every spoonful. The texture of the red bean paste is impeccably balanced, meeting my discerning taste preferences perfectly. For those seeking a savory indulgence, the Yandchow fried rice stands out as a quintessential comfort dish. Bursting with flavor and expertly prepared, each bite offers a comforting embrace reminiscent of home-cooked meals. Whether enjoyed as a standalone delight or paired with other Cantonese classics, the Yandchow fried rice never fails to impress.Beyond the culinary delights, Phoenix Restaurant prides itself on exceptional service that adds to the overall dining experience. Cafe Roule
9153 E Las Tunas Dr, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
Cafe Roule is AMAZING! Cafe Roule is a hidden gem in the San Gabriel Valley. We tried Cafe Roule for the first time this past weekend and we LOVED IT!As soon as you enter, there is a wall full of positive messages that customers have left; which adds a nice and personal touch to the ambiance of the coffee shop. If it wasnt for COVID restrictions, Cafe Roule would be the perfect place to chill, study, etc. Right now, they have about two tables outside.Their drink menu is diverse, they have a large variety of coffes, teas, milk teas and matcha drinks.I tried the Rose Matcha and it was delicious. It was not overly sweet, I was able to taste the sweet tea and the matcha. Love how much attention to detail the staff puts into the drink. When they serve the drink, you are able to see the layers of each component. It had a pink layer to represent the rose tea and the green layer to represent Matcha. My sister ordered the Matcha Espresso and she loved it. All coffee components served at Cafe Roule are from Klatch Coffee.Cant wait to go back to the SGV area and stop by Cafe Roule to try their other drinks.

Today I found a restaurant that I often pass by but have never been in. The dumplings ? taste quite good, the ingredients in the “Lamb Lamb Tripe pot ”are super fresh, I have tried the Lamb soup in many stores, but the lamb liver in other stores is a bit yellow And it tastes a bit bitter. The lamb liver in this store is the color that lamb liver should have, because it is very fresh. Friends who like lamb soup and dumplings can come and try it. Recommended?

Tea Station
9578 E Las Tunas Dr #2106, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
This is a tricky review to write. I did like Tea Station, but its also right next to Bake Code and Boba Avenue, so its hard not to compare. To be fair, all 3 places are different. If you go, a quick peek in each will probably make it clear which place is for you.Boba Ave is where all the cool Asian kids hang out. This might sound bitter, but I really dont mean it that way: if I were cool, or Asian, or young, Im sure Id be hanging out at Boba Ave, but since Im none of the 3... eh... I might still go there, its pretty cool, but IDK why I would when Bake Code is right next door. The music there is pretty loud. That might make it fun for you. Since Im neither cool nor young, it was just loud for me. There was a girl across from me working on her laptop and wearing ear plugs!Bake Code is home base for me. From the 1st moment I walked in the place Ive just been in love with it. Over time Ive liked it in different ways. At first it was more of a bakery where I bought a bunch of items to go. Lately its more of a coffee-tea place where I get one item and some hot milk tea and hang out and work on the laptop. Im sure Bake Code isnt as cool as Boba Avenue, but for me its so much friendlier and warmer than Boba Ave or Tea Station. Bake Code definitely has the friendliest employees and their baked items are to die for.So Tea Station is really fine, but with cool Boba Av and warm Bake Code right next door, I probably wont go to Tea Station again. Not that I wouldnt, just that the other places seem more likely. Interestingly, while the cool Asian kids like to hang out at Boba Ave, Tea Station seems to be the place where the old Asian men like to hang out and play cards. I dont mean to pigeon-hole Tea Station as an older place, I think there might have been young people there too.Tea Station good, but Bake Code fantastic! And Bake Code is easily half the price of Tea Station, or less. And then youve also got Boba Avenue. Nice to have so many options in one little spot. Haha, with more places across the street! :P

Quickly
9445 Las Tunas Dr, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
Terrible food, service, everything. Me and my girlfriend ordered here because we thought itd be like tapioca express. Super wrong, I ordered the asada fries cause I havent had anything like that in while and my girlfriend ordered a chicken combo w/ passion fruit slush. The chicken combo was super bland and dry, and didnt remotely taste anything of east asian cuisine. The asada fries we thought were better, but after awhile we got upset stomachs. The passion fruit slush had chunks of ice and after drinking it awhile was just watered down chunks of ice with no flavor. We didnt even finish our food or drink due to how bad they were. Super slow service as well.Never ever coming here again.Side note - while we were waiting for our food, a homeless man came in with no mask. He then puts on his mask already standing in the restaurant, and walks around. He then receives a boba milk tea without prior interaction with the cashier and leaves. Its great if you want to help the homeless in these times, but putting your other customers at risk during a pandemic should not be a priority over customers already in the store waiting for their order. If youre looking at this page and reading this review, go to Tapioca Express instead. The food and drinks are 1000% better then this place.Would give 0 stars if it was possible.

Top other services in Temple City:

Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House
5728 Rosemead Blvd #107, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
Overall: 4.9/5 (dine in)We came on a Tuesday around 3 PM so there was no wait. The waiters - which were all guys - were really professional and polite. Our server Jeff was very attentive, patient, and non-judgemental. Love the customer service here. My only gripe was the restroom which could be cleaner. They have multiple menus with many options. We got the Japanese wagyu set which is $78/person. Our food came out immediately after we ordered which is crazy. Everything was really fresh and beautifully presented. The meat were all really fresh and high-quality.You get to choose 2 broths so we got the 2 recommended ones: house broth & sukiyaki.- House Broth: This is a great base broth that I used as a palette cleanser after drinking the sukiyaki broth.- Sukiyaki: The sukiyaki broth is too sweet for me. It tastes much better when they refill it with dashi broth. They give you a bottle of sukiyaki sauce on the side to add to your broth if you want more sweetness.Specialty Dish: Each person gets to choose 1 of 3 options.- Wagyu Bone Marrow: I thought this was pretty flavorless and less fatty compared to regular bone marrow. I didnt like it so I only ate 1/4 of it on 1/2 the toast.- Wagyu Nigiri: Pretty good but the wagyu wasnt melt-in-your mouth level.Mincer Wagyu Over Rice: Wow, this was super delicious! I really enjoyed it and would have gotten another bowl of this wasnt AYC.Shrimp Tempura: Basic - skip.Fry Mini Bun: The bun was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They give you condensed milk to dip it in. Although good, I would skip it or get it at the end to eat with your ice cream.Japanese A5 Wagyu Chuck Ribeye: Each person only gets 1 order of this. My husband thinks its melt in your mouth but a bit too fatty to have a lot for AYCE.STONE x Full Blood M9+ Australian Wagyu Brisket & Shoulder Cut: I honestly couldnt tell the difference unless I just had these two side by side but my husband thinks this is the right amount of meat:fat ratio.M8/M9 Australian Wagyu Chuck Ribeye: We were recommended the chuck ribeye cut and it was pretty good. Definitely better than theAmerican Wagyu Chuck Ribeye. This one, you can easily taste the difference.Japanese A5 Wagyu Brisket: You can get an unlimited order of this. Fortunately, this was one of my favorites.Seafood Platter: They give a variety of seafood like scallop, crab, shrimp, etc. but they didnt taste as good or as fresh as the meat. I would pass on this.Matcha Ice Cream: Really good! You can really taste the matcha and it has the perfect amount of sweetness. My favorite way to end a meal :)Iced Peach Tea: Also really good. Perfect amount of sweetness (theme here). Balances out the hot soup.Hot Tea: This was standard and not served in a tea cup so it got cold pretty quickly. You can pass on this.We got one of all the sauces. Not going to comment on this since we chose different sauces depending on what we were eating and my husband and I had very different opinions. We agree & recommend adding in garlic and chili for extra flavor though.
