#eatoutside #healthy #vegetarianfriendly #datenightI had a blast. I was invited for dinner last night on Thursday the 31 of January 2019. The ambiance is great as soon I stepped inside we where welcome by the 2 hostess. And if Im not mistaken they are the daughters of the owners. They answer a bunch of questions about the menu. After a few minutes we all got to take our seats around the table so in my party there was 4 so there was a couple and a father and his daughter. The waiter came and took our drink order. After we got thw drinks he took everyones orders. The cook came rolling in with the cart full of ingredients. Im sorry I cant remember his name. He made it fun and the food was great. Our waiter could have checked on us a little more but so many other people did check on us. Thanks for a great night. I would strongly recommend this place.
Jasmine Thai Restaurant
1145 S Victoria Ave, Ventura, CA 93003, United States
Im reposting my review because its absolutely astounding how quickly the service has dropped. I had to return to the restaurant FOUR seperate times because they couldnt handle a not spicy yellow curry with beef with no tomato. I had to call them twelve times not even a second after placing my order to remind them not to make it spicy because the lady didnt repeat not spicy and hung up after reading it back to me incorrectly. They didnt answer those 12 times so I had to show up. I waited inside with not so much as a wave with 3 other people and called while inside the store after 10 mins of being ignored. They left the phone off the line. They had to remake it because by the time they got to me in person it had been 20 mins and my food was already finished. When I got home it was still spicy and had no potatos so I had to go back and tell them it was spicy and missing potatosThey remade it and when I got back home THIS time it was watered down and full of raw potatos. And I dont mean just mildly cooked I mean these potatos were raw.Go back and repeat the process and I finally gave up and requested a refund when they added chicken instead of beef even after she wrote down my order AGAIN.Please save yourself the trouble and go somewhere elsem unless your comfortable with raw food and incorrect orders. If thats the case this is the place for you.
Sumo Japanese Restaurant
1730 S Victoria Ave, Ventura, CA 93003, United States
Im a longtime customer of Sumo Sushi in Ventura & this is the first time I found the need to write a review on this place. First of all, I can genuinely say that Ive enjoyed coming here throughout the years due to the once pleasant atmosphere & food, but there has been some changes in staff members, in particular a female waitress who wears glasses & has shoulder length dark hair which she sometimes wears it in a ponytail that has been absolutely RUDE & UNPLEASANT each time I get her as a waitress. Ive never had a bad experience with a staff member there until I came across this waitress. It doesnt seem like shes like this with everyone because after observing her, I can see shes having decent conversations with other customers, so I guess she picks & chooses who she wants to serve with courtesy. I believe shes been there for about 3 years now. Im a regular customer & Ive been going there for so many years since my kids were young & now theyre adults, so to have this type of unpleasant service, only deters me away from this place. Its unfortunate to have this experience with this particular individual as most staff members are very pleasant which is why I have returned time after time, but after having two unpleasant experiences with this waitress, I will think twice before going back there again. As far as the food & drinks, I truly enjoy mostly everything on the menu as they have a variety to choose from, but this last time I went there, the rolls did seem to be falling apart which made it difficult to enjoy on top of having the unpleasant service from this waitress. We literally had to request a different waitress as I was done being treated so poorly by this individual. I surely hope that management realizes that this individual waitress may be causing longtime customers to think twice about going there again. I will more than likely go back as Ive been a longtime customer, but if I happen to get this particular waitress again, then I will definitely be requesting a different staff member to serve me because of the unpleasant experiences Ive dealt with, with this particular individual. SUMO SUSHI, KEEP YOUR EYES ON THIS RUDE WAITRESS BEFORE SHE RUINS YOUR BUSINESS AS IT ONCE WAS A LOVELY PLACE.
Spring Garden Chinese Restaurant
1795 S Victoria Ave UNIT 101, Ventura, CA 93003, United States
I have gone to this restaurant on several occasions and each time my experience is the same. They seem to be extremely racist! Yes i could not believe it as well!! As soon as we walked in we were looked at from head to toe...i seriously thought something was out of place or maybe i had stepped in dog poop. Thwn we were made to wait while others were seated before us when we had come in before them. I just assumed they had a reservation or something. We were seated at the tables the servers dine at and next to the kitchen...mind you the restaurant was empty other than 2 tables which had entered after us. No place settings or napkins awaited us. We were constantly trying to get the servers attention....for water...place settings...order...order reminder...order correction...etc...you get the picture. Or bill was slapped on our table immediately As we began to eat and then the barrage of meals began comming out of the kitchen and our table and chairs were bumped insacessantly. Still i gave them the benefit of doubt figguring they are having a bad day or something. We returned a few weeks later hoping for a more pleasent experience....amazingly enough it was identical to the first...we did go in a third time and when we were greeted by the same up and down looks and other patrons were seated before us althouvh they entered after us we decided at that point they were no longer going to recieve our business.. just to clarify i am a 60 year old woman who dresses nicely and has her nails done every 2-3 weeks, make up, and decent hair and was with my blonde daughter who is educated and carries herself well. I will NEVER return to this eatableshment and encourage others not to patronize them as well. I gave them the benefit of doubt until THEY removed all doubt!!Now lets see how long this review remains.
Kabuki Japanese Restaurant
20940 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91364, United States
We have been going to Kabuki for many years. The food has always been good and until recently the wait staff were sweet and attentive. The young male waiters are wonderful and our Friday waitress is not only beautiful but respectful and sweet.Lately we have been going for lunch two to three times a week. We order virtually the same items every time unless we bring another guest. Each time the food has been good.Every time we go the one waitress scowls at us, NEVER a smile or greeting and we are told we cant sit in our usual booth because they have a split shift. We are older and we enjoy sitting where we are comfortable but because we insisted, we became the subject of rudeness and abuse. The waitress decided she wouldnt serve us although she seated others and served them. She sent the other waitress over.I believe this was on Monday. I ordered the Teryaki beef lunch and said very clearly NO teryaki on the meat. We got our order but for the first time ever the meat was inedible. I asked the waitress to please replace it. I was apologeticand spoke nicely to her. She brought me the replacement beef covered in Teryaki. So again nicely I asked her to bring me the beef without the teryaki. She huffed and puffed but got it replaced and I said thank you.Never thought anymore about it.The following week we arranged to take a friend to Kabuki for lunch. The wait staff refused to serve us and the manager was just as bad. We walked out with our guest. Everytime we went there they acted like they were doing us a favor. Disgusting way to treat regular. elderly customers. We are regulars at Hikari and Cho Cho San where we are greeted with smiles and respect. You need to train your staff how to treat customers As long as you have the same lunch staff we will take our regular business elsewhere. We dont need to spend our money and be treated like garbage.Ps your restaurant looks old, shabbyand tired. Time to renovate.
Bamboo Cuisine - Restaurant & Bar - Chinese Foo...
14010 Ventura Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 91423, United States
The main courses were good and the price was affordable. Ill give them that. However, the service was terrible and the soups were horrible. They didnt care when we told them that. The waiter was like whatever. All in all: I would choose a better option next time. Plenty of great asian restaurants out there will provide a better culinary experience.
Nomura Sushi Restaurant
14622 Ventura Blvd STE207, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403, United States
I was in the valley and wanted sushi take out. Found this spot on Yelp and loved that they had a 15% off coupon for checking in on Yelp so I tried it out. When I ordered on the phone the lady was very nice and said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I got there 20-25 minutes later and it was not completely ready but they were very apologetic about it so I didn't hold it against them because it was short and I was able to check out the restaurant. The place is small and on the 2nd floor right when you get off the escalator. They have outside and inside eating. There were only about 4 parties (mostly outside) eating here. I was surprised it was so empty on a beautiful Saturday night. I ordered the spicy edamame, spicy tuna on crispy rice, and a salmon avocado roll with a side of eel sauce to go. I was excited to try the food, the salmon avocado roll was ok and very big. I normally like my seaweed inside of the roll not outside. The fish tasted fresh though. The spicy tuna on crispy rice was good, loved that it came with spicy Mayo and eel sauce. And the spicy garlic edamame was ehh. I'm used to more flavor with it, but maybe it was like that because I got it to go. All in all I'd give the service an A and the food a B. There was nothing special about this place but I would still come back and try something different because the people were really nice, food's ok, it's convenient, and quick. I'll make sure to update this post when I do.And P.S, if you park in the lot in the back, make sure to get your ticket validated. I was in there for 5 minutes and the cashier tried to charge me $3 after he told me I had free parking for 2 hours. But he gave me a pass and said he told me “2 hours free with validation” so now I know for next time
Okumura Restaurant
17302 Ventura Blvd, Encino, CA 91316, United States
The quality of the sushi & sashimi at Okumura is top notch - the menu is not for the novice to such things though, so you may need some guidance from your waiter or an idea of what you like already when going in.That said - we know what we like! The hokkaido scallops made for fantastic sashimi, with a bit of truffle accenting the flavor.Albacore belly and Salmon belly were both fatty, delicious cuts of typically available fish that made excellent sushi.Whereas most restaurants offer an endless list of rolls, or dinner combinations that take the guesswork out of what do I get?, Okumura presents a list of fish with sushi or sashimi serving size options and not much else. I recommend a little research before going in, or remembering an order from a previous meal, for the easiest time dining here.
Tasty China
9493 Telephone Rd UNIT 104, Ventura, CA 93004, United States
Whenever I don’t have food for my lunch break when I work, I always order here. By far one of my favorite places to eat Chinese food. The atmosphere when I enter feels comfortable, and has such a nostalgic vibe as I’ve always been surrounded by family owned businesses. The staff are extremely friendly and always welcome me with a smile :) I can’t help but appreciate how respectful they are!Additionally, the food is ABSOLUTELY delicious. I’ve been to many Chinese restaurants and by far this is one of the most delicious. Their price range is just right and the warmth from the xiao long bao is comforting. If you’re new to their menu, I highly suggest trying their Pork and Vegetable Xiao Long Bao. It’s a must try and overall such a delicious place to eat :) One of my favorite Asian restaurants and places to visit in general here in Ventura County ?
P.F. Changs
15301 Ventura Blvd Ste P-22, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403, United States
Take out very disappointing after an amazing in dining experience a year ago for the person I take care of her 92nd birthday the server was excellent we had a party of 10 the food was on point I believe we had a bottle or two of wine. The server was extremely attentive Im sure our bill was hundreds of dollars in his tip was generous. We are now in a time where takeout is everything. I drove to pick up the food I ordered it over the phone so there were no mistakes and thats where the problems began the young lady who answered the phone knew nothing about the menu or pricing. I could not find any pricing on the online menu so I had to ask about absolutely everything she became very frustrated after putting me on hold several times or calling back to whoever could answer instead of the appropriate move of management taking over the call they finally did after I ordered 6 things I started the call by telling the person I was ordering at least eight things and I had a lot of questions so there was just no excuse here. Im also Ada I asked about parking because I didnt want to walk across the whole Mall I was never given the correct answer to my question it was more of a blow off but I found the elevator we used when we dined in. Only problem was that elevator was not in service so I park near the clothes valet and walked across the mall because they didnt do curbside service unless you order through the app. My order was ready I had to actually ask for an itemized receipt as I was only given a copy of my credit card receipt I also had to ask for extra utensils and chopsticks with all the food we ordered only four sets of utensils were included at the time. Someone should have simply asked how many I need. I drove right home and we open the food nothing tasted like it should I was absolutely floored this is the second time I took take out and the second time the food didnt travel well. This will be the last time I take out from pfchangs. I have a lot of patience in these trying times but I do not have patience for all of this they were not even that busy there was no reason I could see for myself as a customer to be treated the way I was treated and the etiquette followed and such an unprofessional manner. The only one that was nice actually was the same server from RN dining experience hes always cheerful always helpful hes the one that got me my receipt when I requested it didnt bat an eye. I know hes been there a long time I hope they know and appreciate him.
