Impression of Lanzhou
1657 Willow Pass Rd ste a, Concord, CA 94520, United States
100% worth checking out if you like soup and noodles, regardless of cuisine. Theres much to appreciate about Impression of Lanzhous hand pulled noodles that are cooked to perfection and delicious tasting broth.Their noodles are high quality, taste fresh, and have a satisfying chewy motuhfeel. Our party of 4 ordered the regular thin, small flat, and general wide noodles and all were spectacular in their own right. In addition to the yummy noodles, the taste and quality of the signature beef soup was phenomenal. The broth was super clean and packed full of flavor. The signature beef noodle soup comes with 2 beef ribs and the Lanzhou beef noodle soup is served with Chinese braised beef shank and is the signature beef soup with chili oil.The service is great for an authentic Chinese restaurant and our party did not experience any language issues.Overall we are extremely grateful for this newly opened restaurant in Concord that specializes in Northern Chinese cuisine.

What a gem! This newly opened Szechuan restaurant in Concord is a true delight. Recommended by my lovely companion, it exceeded all expectations with its excellent service, sleek yet welcoming design, and, most importantly, outstanding food quality. If you’re a fan of Sichuan cuisine, this place is a must-visit. From the flavorful boiled fish, lamb, and beef to the perfectly cooked noodles, every dish was a delight. We couldn’t even finish everything—despite our best efforts! As a nod to tradition, they even treated us to complimentary noodles in honor of my father’s birthday, symbolizing longevity. Not to be overlooked are the crispy, non-deep-fried green beans, which were simply out of this world. The warm welcomes and attentive service from the waitstaff were also greatly appreciated. With its simple yet ample seating, including convenient turntables, this restaurant offers both comfort and efficiency.Overall, it has quickly become our new favorite Chinese restaurant!
Aung Burma
2151 Salvio St e, Concord, CA 94520, United States
Great outdoor seating right on the corner. Delicious food that has gradients of Indian, Chinese, and Thai. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu but I recommend the Pumpkin Chicken (just in time for pumpkin all of the things). My personal favorite though is the House Fried Rice with Chinese Sausage. This takes me back to my childhood ala the animated movie, Ratatouille.Chinese sausage was my bacon growing up and its hard to find restaurants that serve it. Especially in this way which is pretty close to how mom and grandma made it.A surprise find - Garlic Noodles. Different from the Vietnamese dish. Medium flat egg noodles are used instead of the rounded chow mein variety, paired with a tangier garlicky sauce.
Veggie Today
1909 Salvio St, Concord, CA 94520, United States
100% vegetarian, mostly vegan, mostly tasty (4/5 Green Stars, also).Veggie today is pretty casual and brightly lit, so it has more of a café atmosphere than an intimate restaurant. We had four items and thought that two or three of them were good. The foo young appetizer was a highlight – it was large but not as heavy as other versions that I've had in the past, and had good flavor and a little crunch. The wonton soup was mixed: good flavor in the soup but maybe too heavy on salt (I was so thirsty after it!) and the wonton wrappers were a bit thick (but the filling was good!). The caramelized vegan chicken had good flavor and a nice chewy texture but the dish could have done with a bit more spinach (to justify being called a “bed of spinach” on the menu). The tamarind beef was our least favorite – it was just too sweet for both of us. But other people seem to love that dish so don't let me put you off ordering it; perhaps it's just me – I've rarely found a vegan “beef” dish that I love. Vegan chicken (or just good-old tofu) always seems like a better bet. Both of the protein dishes were pretty light on veggies (esp. the tamarind beef) so bear that in mind when ordering. I'd like to go back and discover some favorites.I'm also giving Veggies Today 4/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons:• As stated on their menu: 100% vegetarian.• Almost all items on the menu are vegan (check with your server). The wonton soup is specifically labeled on the menu as not vegan so I think there are only a few dishes that are not vegan.• As anyone who's trying to go plant-based knows, restaurants where you can order almost anything on the menu are a blessing for the movement!• No information about sourcing on the menu (e.g., is the tofu organic?). That's the main downside for me – I like my tofu to be organic, if possible (rice & veggies too).• Drinks are provided by Coke (so they could do better there, but they do have tea).• For people getting take-out, they use standard Chinese take-out boxes and plastic bags (a third area for improvement: compostable boxes and paper bags).Interested in writing green star reviews? We were really happy with how small the menu was here. It took us 5 minutes to figure out what to eat.Drinks:My wife got the young coconut drink. It was fresh and delicious served in an actual coconut with a cute blue parasol.I got the mango lassi which wasn't too sweet and reminded me of orange juice but mango flavored.Appetizer:We ordered the coconut chicken palatha as our appetizer. The palatha was nice and flaky. The coconut curry was delicious.Entrees:For our entrees we got the lemongrass pork (medium). The snap peas were perfectly crunchy. And the fiery chicken (hot). It was the perfect level to of spicy where it clears your sinuses but without overpowering the taste of the food.Sides:For our sides we got coconut rice. It was perfectly cooked, had a lovely coconut aroma, and was sweet but not too sweet. And biryani rice. It smelled like cinammon and other delightful aromatic spices.Combo Tastes:Both rices on their own tasted delicious but combined was somehow even better. We felt the lemongrass chicken was best on its own and the fiery chicken was best combined with the two rices. One appetizer, one entree, and two bowls of rice is probably enough for two people but we don't eat too much when we go out these days.We brought about half of the entrees and rice home with us for later.TLDR:Get the coconut chicken palatha, fiery chicken (hot), and mix the coconut rice and biryani together.
Teriyaki Plus
Albertson's Shopping Center B5, 1991 Monument Blvd, Concord, CA 94520, United States
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. In the past, I havent had the best experiences with generic sounding Chinese name places. When I first came in here, and it wasnt much to look at.The menu looks like it hasnt been updated for decades, and the place wasnt very updated in general. After looking over the menu, I ordered at the counter. I decided to try their spicy pork, which I love to get at normal Korean restaurants. I wanted to see how it would stack up.I went back to my table and waited, and received some free appetizers before my main entree. I received a bowl of miso soup, and two little pieces of sushi, and a handful of edamame. When my entree was ready, it was much more than I was expecting. The size of the meal was very generous, especially considering it was only $8.50. The flavor of the pork was excellent, especially considering this is not a place focused on just Korean food. The entree also came with a good helping of rice some Jopchae ( Korean glass noodles), some white rice, and steamed vegetables.Overall I thought it was great quality and quantity for the price, even if the Ambiance is lacking.
Dumpling and Noodle House
1768 Willow Pass Rd, Concord, CA 94520, United States
New and only dumpling restaurant in Concord! The menu is extensive with many of my favorite authentic Chinese dishes. Theres a lot of seating and parking seems easy. We ordered the hot and sour noodle soup, pork soup dumplings, eggplant and string beans, beef in chili oil, rice cakes with brown sugar. Everything was amazing and delicious. Run dont walk!
Luna Restaurant
2118 Willow Pass Rd #100b, Concord, CA 94520, United States
I've eaten dinner at Luna several times over the past 4 years and I've always had a pleasant dining experience. Today was an exception that I will never forget. The restaurant was bustling with guests which is common. Many times when I dine in there's a large party or event. My experience started off promising and I was seated promptly at my 6:15p reservation. I was somewhat concerned if my meal would be affected by the larger party but didn't pay it much attention as this was a common occurrence. The wheels feel off 30 minutes after placing our dinner order. The waiter told us our meal was in the process of being plated. An additional 45 minutes later our food showed up (total wait time 1 hr 15 minutes). I tried to get over the delay but was confronted with two other issues. My wife's salmon was under cooked and I was given a side dish with potatoes when it was described to be all vegetables. The waiter realized our dinning experience was falling apart and offered more bread and complementary drinks. I declined both and simply wanted what we had originally ordered. I expressed my dismay with the under prepared food, being given lines as stall tactics and being misinformed about the side dish. The waiter apologized but at this point our dinner was ruined. My wife's dish was remade and delivered after the (3) of us completed our meals. The evening ended with them pushing free deserts on us even though we really didn't want them.Final comment: be aware of large parties on property before deciding to eat dinner. It's a coin toss on extremely poor service.
